James Koens

After working with Medevac Blackhawk helicopters in the Middle East as an armoured vehicle crewman, James knew that helicopter rescue & retrieval was the next dream to catch!

Fast forward 12 years, James is now an Aircrew Officer on board an ambulance rescue helicopter based in NSW, Australia. When not crewing response aircraft himself, James trains and assesses current and future helicopter Paramedics, Doctors, and fellow Aircrew Officers.

James is also a commercial helicopter pilot with a keen interest in Helicopter Emergency Medical Services (HEMS) flying scenic flights on his days off.
