Hungary has seen a dramatic political shift, as longtime leader Viktor OrbĂĄn has been defeated after 16 years in power.

The election delivered a landslide victory for PĂ©ter Magyar and his Tisza party, marking the end of a system critics had described as an “electoral autocracy.”

Magyar, a former insider of Orbán’s party, built strong support by campaigning against corruption and promising reforms to key institutions like the judiciary and public services.

The result could significantly reshape Hungary’s position on the global stage. While Orbán maintained close ties with Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, Magyar has pledged to strengthen relations with the European Union and Ukraine.

Voter turnout reached record levels, reflecting widespread demand for change.

Supporters celebrated the result as a turning point, while Orbán acknowledged the defeat, calling it “clear and painful.”

With a strong parliamentary majority expected, Magyar now faces the challenge of delivering on promises to rebuild trust, tackle corruption, and reset Hungary’s political and economic direction.

A unique piece of history is set to go under the hammer in Paris, as part of the original staircase from the Eiffel Tower is being auctioned next month.

The section, which once connected the second and third floors of the iconic landmark, dates back to its opening in 1889. For decades, millions of visitors climbed these very steps before they were removed during renovations in the 1980s.

Now, the 2.7-metre-high spiral segment is expected to sell for up to €150,000 when it goes up for auction at Artcurial.

The staircase has remained in a private collection for over 40 years and has recently been restored for sale.

Experts say it’s more than just a collector’s item—it’s a rare opportunity to own a physical piece of one of the world’s most recognisable landmarks.

With previous sections selling for over half a million euros, demand is expected to be strong.

For collectors, it’s not just a purchase—it’s a chance to bring a piece of Parisian history into their home.

A charity co-founded by Prince Harry is taking legal action against him in a growing dispute that’s now moved into the courts.

Sentebale has filed a defamation claim, alleging that an “adverse media campaign” has caused reputational damage and disrupted its work.

Prince Harry, along with former trustee Mark Dyer, has strongly denied the claims, calling them “offensive and damaging.”

The case follows a bitter internal disagreement over how the charity was being run, which led to Prince Harry stepping down in 2025 alongside co-founder Prince Seeiso and several trustees.

The dispute, which included concerns over finances and fundraising, had already drawn criticism from regulators for playing out publicly and harming the charity’s reputation.

Despite the legal battle, both sides say they remain focused on supporting vulnerable young people in southern Africa.

However, the situation highlights how internal conflicts—even within charitable organisations—can escalate and overshadow their mission, especially when famous people are involved.

Italy is facing growing frustration after the national team failed to qualify for the World Cup for a third consecutive time, following a penalty shootout defeat to Bosnia and Herzegovina national football team.

The loss has sparked strong reactions across the country, with fans and politicians calling it a crisis for Italian football. Some have even labelled it a “third apocalypse,” highlighting the scale of disappointment.

Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma and the team have come under pressure, as many question what’s gone wrong since their triumph at UEFA Euro 2020.

Critics point to a lack of young talent and declining grassroots participation, with fewer children playing football compared to previous generations.

Politicians, including former PM Matteo Renzi, say the repeated failure reflects deeper issues within the sport’s structure.

For many, football is more than just a game—it’s part of Italy’s identity.

Now, calls are growing for a complete rebuild, as the country looks for answers—and hopes to avoid missing out again in the future.

But – if Iran doesn’t participate, could they be in with a chance?

In NLP, or Neuro-Linguistic Programming, mindsets are powerful tools that shape how we interpret situations — and ultimately, how we act.

One key mindset is cause versus effect. At cause means believing you have control over your actions and responses. At effect means feeling like things just happen to you. For example, at work, someone at effect might say, “My manager never gives me opportunities.” Someone at cause reframes it: “What can I do to show I’m ready for more responsibility?”

The second mindset is results versus excuses. In simple terms, we either produce results or we create reasons why something didn’t happen. For instance, “I didn’t finish the report because I was too busy” is an excuse. A results-focused mindset says, “The report isn’t done yet — what needs to change?”

The third is taking responsibility for results. This means owning outcomes, even when they’re not ideal. Instead of blaming circumstances, you ask: “What was my role in this, and what can I do differently next time?”

These mindsets aren’t about blame — they’re about empowerment.

By shifting your perspective, you create more choice, more control, and more possibility. And often, that shift in thinking is what leads to real change.

So, as you move through your day, notice your thinking — and ask yourself: which mindset am I choosing right now? And: would a different one be more helpful?

Well, that’s all from NEWS OF THE WORLD for now. I hope you choose a helpful mindset today, and I’ll talk to you soon! Take care!
