With backgrounds in music, theater, and live performance, Sarah and Lauren bring their hilarious and fascinating perspectives as queer forty-somethings to each episode. In 1973 the Acali Expedition embarked on a lengthy voyage over sea from Spain to Mexico, drifting on a modest raft. Their mission, as the crew understood it, was one of peace and research for the good of all humankind. These young and vibrant technicians, sailors and experts came from all over the world and many different backgrounds, and were assembled by the enigmatic anthropologist Santiago Genoves. As the mastermind behind this "scientific" enterprise, he had other goals in mind and would stop at nothing to try and prove his dark theories about humanity while keeping his true purposes hidden from participants.
