Show Notes

This week I spoke with Marcel Woodruff about how his relationships with young people have informed his vision for the future of the black community. We also discussed the concept of decolonization and how  we can use this framework to center emotional literacy,  healing and historical awareness as we combat systemic oppression.  Marcel Woodruff is a native of Fresno California and graduate of Bullard Hight School. He obtained his Bachelor of Science in computer science from Xavier university of Louisiana and his Master of Divinity from Fresno Pacific University seminary. Marcel has served as mentor, adviser, and life coach from Fresno youth primarily from the South West and South East areas of Fresno for 15 years and during that time has worked with over 3000 youth in Fresno, Ca. Marcel currently works as a youth organizer with Faith in the Valley Fresno, and sits on the board of Neighborhood industries. Marcel is husband to Jolana Woodruff, a father of 3, and a man who loves his community.
