Deborah Hardoon

Deborah is Poverty & Inequality Lead at Development Initiatives. She was previously Head of Evidence at the What Works Centre for Wellbeing, responsible for the generation, quality and translation of research for policymakers and practitioners to use to improve wellbeing outcomes for people in the UK. Prior to that, as the Deputy Head of Research at Oxfam GB, Deborah led research on economic inequality, authoring several high-profile reports and working with country and regional teams – including some time based in the Oxfam office in Tanzania. She also worked at Transparency International, where she was responsible for the Corruption Perception’s Index and other global corruption measurement tools. Deborah has been an ODI fellow in the Ministry of Planning in Lesotho and has an MA in Economics from the University of British Columbia.
