Solo with Mo: Surrender & Trust
Welcome to my first solo episode! Let's talk about fear.
I felt very much led to share some of my recent experiences around surrender and trust in the journey- as the last 3 years has involved me facing and sitting in the unknown and my fears. A definition of fear I found online: an unpleasant, often strong emotion caused by anticipation or awareness of danger (Merriam Webster Dictionary).
My mentor and coach, EnMay Mangels, often says: "There are only two fears we are born with. The fear of falling and the fear of loud noises- all other fears are LEARNED!" Once I heard this I really started to look at two things:
1. What were my fears? I took the time to write them out.
2. How was I CHOOSING to let them run my life? Yes- it's a choice when you allow yourself to make decisions based on a fear.
This was a game changer for me. It has not been an easy road of unlearning these fears- AND it's been the most rewarding time of my 41 years of life.
This has also been a very real lesson in DEEP trust and faith.
I had enough money to last me for just over 1 month when I left my job.
Zero savings, a maxed out credit card plus a maxed out personal line of credit.
I needed to make $5,000 to pay my bills and another $600-$800 for food, gas, etc.
I have had my company since August 2020 (31 months now) and there have only been maybe 5 months where I knew a month in advance that I had the money I needed to pay my bills next month. The other 26 months I often haven't known until the day before or 10 days into the month.
I'm going to share 1 experience for each year since starting my company- in hopes that it gives you a surge of inspiration to take a risk and play big in some fashion with your life.
We do so many things in life because we want to have this cushion. This feeling of security- its a false security. If you want real and true security- experience the unseen. The energy that is supporting us all. It means you stop listening to all the outside voices- and start listening to your inner voice.
I have never felt more supported nor have I had such a deep level of faith, trust and inner peace.
