Day 07 – Inner Purity and God’s Justice

God is not impressed by appearances. In Genesis chapters 19 and 20, we see the heavy cost of corruption, but also God’s care for those who seek what is right. Psalm 1 describes a life rooted in God’s ways, steady and fruitful over time. In Mark chapter 7, Jesus speaks plainly. True purity does not begin with outward actions. It begins in the heart. These readings call us to look deeper at who we are becoming.

As we hold these readings together, one truth becomes clear. God cares most about the condition of our hearts and calls us to live with integrity, trusting His justice and mercy.

What does this mean for us today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by these readings.

First, think about one recent action you took. Ask God to show you the motive behind it, without defensiveness or excuse.

Second, read Psalm 1 slowly today. Pause after each verse. Let it reflect back the direction of your own life.

Third, show mercy in one practical way to someone who has hurt or disappointed you, even if it feels undeserved.

As today unfolds, keep this in mind. True righteousness grows from the inside out, shaped by a heart that stays close to God.
