Day 39 – Holy Living and Better Priesthood

Leviticus 19–20
Hebrews 7

God’s holiness shapes how His people live and whom they trust. In Leviticus chapters 19 and 20, God calls Israel to reflect His holiness through everyday actions. Holiness is seen in how they treat neighbors, practice justice, and remain faithful to Him. It is practical. It is relational. It is visible. In Hebrews chapter 7, we see the deeper foundation for holy living. Jesus is revealed as a better and eternal High Priest. His priesthood is not based on law or lineage, but on God’s unchanging power. Together, these passages show that holy lives flow from trusting Christ’s perfect priesthood.

Taken together, these passages show us something important. God calls His people to live holy lives grounded in the eternal priesthood of Christ.

What does this mean for us today? Here are three simple and practical steps shaped by these readings.

First, practice one act of love or fairness today that reflects God’s holiness in a visible way.

Second, examine one attitude or habit and ask whether it truly aligns with God’s character.

Third, place your confidence in Christ’s work rather than your own effort. Remind yourself that He represents you before God.

As you go into the rest of this day, hold on to this. Holiness is not something you manufacture by effort alone. It flows from trusting the One who stands before God on your behalf.

Thank you for joining me today. Rest in Christ’s priesthood and let His holiness shape your life. Until tomorrow, may trust guide your obedience.
