What are they"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":238.72,"endTime":241.3,"body":"doing now? They're going out in"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":238.72,"endTime":241.3,"body":"the community, what can they do?"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":241.3,"endTime":244.6,"body":"What are their likes, what did"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":241.3,"endTime":244.6,"body":"they like to do? Everything is"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":244.6,"endTime":247.57,"body":"changing all the time. And I've had parents"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":255.01,"endTime":258.16,"body":"even, you know, in our programs,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":255.01,"endTime":258.16,"body":"some parents are thinking that"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":258.16,"endTime":261.73,"body":"graduation is the most exciting"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":258.16,"endTime":261.73,"body":"day of their lives. And then"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":261.73,"endTime":265.69,"body":"others say it's the saddest day,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":261.73,"endTime":265.69,"body":"because they're leaving that"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":265.69,"endTime":269.26,"body":"world that they know, that"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":265.69,"endTime":269.26,"body":"supports their child and they"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":269.26,"endTime":272.74,"body":"know a lot of them know many of"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":269.26,"endTime":272.74,"body":"the teachers and staff for years"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":272.74,"endTime":275.98,"body":"and years because they've been"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":272.74,"endTime":275.98,"body":"with him all these years. But when"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":305.47,"endTime":308.38,"body":"you see more and more been"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":308.38,"endTime":313.09,"body":"working courtesy clerks, they're"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":308.38,"endTime":313.09,"body":"working in different places, the"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":313.09,"endTime":315.49,"body":"community is opening the doors"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":313.09,"endTime":315.49,"body":"to more people with"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":315.49,"endTime":319.93,"body":"disabilities. So the awareness,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":315.49,"endTime":319.93,"body":"I think, has grown so much over"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":319.93,"endTime":324.13,"body":"the years, that it's much more"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":319.93,"endTime":324.13,"body":"acceptable, but aren't as"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":324.13,"endTime":328.21,"body":"stigmatized as they used to be,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":324.13,"endTime":328.21,"body":"you know, you're still going to"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":328.21,"endTime":333.46,"body":"find some that are, the doors"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":328.21,"endTime":333.46,"body":"have opened more. You know, you"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":333.46,"endTime":336.04,"body":"see more people with"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":333.46,"endTime":336.04,"body":"disabilities on television and"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":336.04,"endTime":339.64,"body":"in movies, you know, so they"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":336.04,"endTime":339.64,"body":"know what the capabilities are,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":340.0,"endTime":343.78,"body":"I think those are some of the"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":340.0,"endTime":343.78,"body":"biggest changes that I've seen"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":343.87,"endTime":347.26,"body":"years ago, it was, you had a"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":343.87,"endTime":347.26,"body":"child with a significant"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":347.26,"endTime":350.77,"body":"disability, and the doctor said,"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":347.26,"endTime":350.77,"body":"put them in an institution, you"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":350.77,"endTime":353.32,"body":"know, and now we don't have"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":350.77,"endTime":353.32,"body":"those institutions anymore."},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":354.37,"endTime":357.64,"body":"So that's another big change."},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":354.37,"endTime":357.64,"body":"Because at the time, people"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":357.64,"endTime":362.59,"body":"don't know, and even doctors"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":357.64,"endTime":362.59,"body":"don't know at all, even as many"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":362.59,"endTime":365.83,"body":"of them that I worked with, over"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":362.59,"endTime":365.83,"body":"the years that have come to"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":365.83,"endTime":369.64,"body":"graduate, I said, many of you"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":365.83,"endTime":369.64,"body":"sit here at graduation. And a"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":369.64,"endTime":372.43,"body":"lot of you, the doctors have"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":369.64,"endTime":372.43,"body":"told you your child wouldn't"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":372.43,"endTime":376.69,"body":"live past the age of five. And"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":372.43,"endTime":376.69,"body":"here they are now 21, graduating"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":376.9,"endTime":380.89,"body":"their program. I said, so"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":376.9,"endTime":380.89,"body":"everybody doesn't know all the"},{"speaker":"Liz Burley","startTime":380.89,"endTime":385.84,"body":"answers all the time.
