The Noras kick off with a revisit with Kelsey mix cereal and the unexpected reality of serving sizes—thanks to a little thing called portion control. From guilty pleasure snacks to the quirky concept of "tasteful tantrums" as a stress-relief method, we explore the joyous chaos of navigating family life.
Nora does her best to get Nora motivated to visit some of her favorite art museums. She in face gets so excited to share about her favorite spots that she barely lets Nora get a word in! She tries to her best to "paint a picture" of the excitement of strolling through the Art Institute of Chicago or admiring Monet's water lilies at the Musée de l'Orangerie in Paris. We celebrate the beauty found in diverse art forms, from Chicago's architectural wonders to the fashion-forward exhibits at the Met's Costume Institute. Whether it's the grandeur of the National Portrait Gallery in London or the miniature marvels in Chicago, this episode is a love letter to the art that inspires and moves us.
Then the Noras welcome their friend Rebecca Rivera to the studio for a real life example of the trendy world of customizable jewelry! She holds their hands as they choose their permanent bracelets and which wrist to put it on. Rebecca explains all the customizable options J Bloom has to offer and how these versatile items cater to all ages with endless design and engraving options. We explore the sentimental value of matching sets and discuss the practicality of these pieces that can be easily removed and reattached. Wrapping up, we reflect on the joy of unexpected family time when soccer gets canceled and encourage you to join us on Instagram for more digital art inspiration.

Hi, thanks for joining us today. It's Nora, and Nora and I have some great fall news for you. What? The DiGiorno Thanksgiving pizza is back. Oh, my gosh Is it available though. Yes, do you have one? Well, no, because I saw the story after oh, okay, I'm home, gotcha, gotcha, got gotcha right after I got home. Um, I would be very willing to tell you yes, so I will put that on my okay podcast to do this remember I?
Speaker 2I was on the wait list, yeah to order one from the company and we went online remember.
Speaker 1Yes, yeah, no, this, I guess the novelty wore off. Oh, yeah, well, I, or they're like, people loved this. Let's make more, yeah, and they're on sale right now for $9.99. Slam dunk, how about it? How did your kids like the Kelsey mix? They loved it, did they? Yes, of course they did. I mean, what was not to love, right? But they did say who bought this? Oh, they're like we know this wasn't you, you. But they did say who bought this? They're like we know this wasn't you. You're like did somebody else put this in your cart? Oh, my God, I'm so glad they eat it, because otherwise I would have gobbled that on up. It was a really nice guilty pleasure treat. It's so good. I would buy it again, I know, and put it in the back of our cupboard. You know what would be great? Because you know how you can buy cereals in those little individual cups. Yeah, because then you could buy a serving.
Speaker 2Yeah, you could like, portion it.
Speaker 1That's what I have to do with goldfish crackers.
Speaker 2Oh, I have to do that with the goldfish pretzels, otherwise I eat too many of them.
Speaker 1Yeah, I have to do that with a control. You know, I don't think most Americans are. I think when you actually look at what the serving size is, it's shocking how small?
Speaker 1Which I never really paid attention to until Aiden had diabetes and I was having to measure out his food in cereal and I was like this is a serving of Cheerios, it's bananas. Well, it's not banana, it's Cheerios. I was going to say it's for the birds, but it's bananas. Well, it's not banana, it's Cheerios. I was going to say it's for the birds, but it's not, it's very free. Yeah, I do that, and then I'll stop talking about my portion control. If I have like a cookie, sometimes I'll break it in half and then I'll go back later for the other quarter of it and then I just eat the whole thing.
Speaker 1Well, I think that's smart to spread it out, because sometimes your body has an attempt to process like oh, that was delicious and because you're just shoving it in my cookie monster, like that with tacos. But at least you always unwrap them first.
Speaker 2Oh my.
Speaker 1God, nora, have you ever had an adult tantrum? My kids probably think I have one every day. This is I read this article about adult tantrums. Is it when you lose your temper on your kids and then they like, gaslight you and make you look like you're the crazy one, so you get even more angry? No, no, maybe. I think that'll be maybe next week's article, but this was about. The article is titled how to Throw a Tasteful Adult Tantrum.
Speaker 1Well, I'm glad to know that there's a tasteful option for tantrums Right exactly Because they were saying when your child, like a toddler, would throw a tantrum, they'd scream and yell and like thrash their body all around, but then usually, when they were done, they were very calm and peaceful and usually would fall asleep. And so they're like. You know, there's something to be said for just letting out all your frustration and your anger. However, as an adult, it's not really appropriate to do that at Target. Could you imagine if you saw a mom losing it? I want to journal, but they said. They said how to release your rage. You should use your body and your voice to let it out. The somatic your body, yeah, Like. So they recommend. You know punching a pillow.
Speaker 1The punching bag, like screaming into your pillow or punching your mattress or a couch and this is tasteful to punch your couch In the privacy of your own home and that you should expel all your tension. Or you could just dance uncontrollably or scribble on a piece of paper Scribble you would look like or throw a ball when I don't know Into your cup or scrape it to your pillow. And I was thinking, or my thought after reading this article was you could exercise.
Speaker 1I was going to say exercise, or if you want to scream, you could do what I do and sing in your car Like show tunes, show tunes or anything A nice like emotional ballad or angry rock song. I feel like if I did these things I probably would feel better, but then I would also feel a little silly. I would feel out of control. If you're just like I was like punching my couch Sorry, guys, I didn't know you'd be home so soon, don't worry. Just trying to let it out, I told you guys to clean your arms. Your couch would never be softer though my fluffy pillows. So I don't know. I feel like, yes, I think the reasoning behind what they're saying is fine.
Speaker 2Getting all that energy out.
Speaker 1Getting that out. But I think if it were me, I would pick exercise and singing in my car. I think exercise as well. I'm thinking about these women who are throwing these tantrums, maybe frazzled, which kind of led me to my next topic. Yeah, of the frazzled English woman trend, what? Oh wait, I'm having a visual, but I want to hear you describe it.
Speaker 2Well, let's see.
Speaker 1Yeah, so it's probably exactly what you're picturing. Somebody compared it to like a winter dog walker. Look, oh okay, like skirts, tights, ripped or otherwise. Simple sneakers, knee-high boots, giant scarves, smudged eyeliner, a lot of wool, like a Bridget Jones yeah, professor Trelawney from Harry Potter, I'm all about that, but it's a thing, okay, and it's all over the internet. That's what I look like when I shovel snow. Yes, I just want to be as warm as possible. I don't care what I look like. Yeah, so that's like the big thing, can you say what this trend is again, the frazzled English woman trend.
Speaker 1Frazzled English woman, I love it, I'm in and, yeah, you can look it up. I wish that this was a trend like you should dress like that, because it is no like. So I could dress like that and people would be like wow, look at Nora.
Speaker 2She's killing it, she's on trend.
Speaker 1Yes, wow, yeah, I could do this today. This could be your trend. This could be my moment to shine. I have a lot of coats, a lot of scarves. Yeah, this is it. Oh my gosh, nora, some wool, I'm all in. Yeah, oh, my goodness. And I just want to say one more thing in this season of fall, oh great, there is an angry man who is outraged and maybe had an adult temper tantrum over his orphan squirrel that he rescued. I'd like to just start with the title Orphan Squirrel, that's not a thing. He saw the squirrel's mom get hit by a car oh, I don't know how he knows his mom and then the squirrel mom's will left her baby to him. So then he rescued the squirrel. Okay, the orphan squirrel. Where was the squirrel's dad? He was not in the picture. The squirrel newspapers are like squirrel kidnapped, yeah right.
Speaker 1Sorry, I'll let you finish no? So then he was taken. He was like treating this pet like a domestic pet. And then word got out that he was harboring an orphan squirrel and they removed it from his house and he was outraged because he was like that's my pet? No, it's not. It was taken from me, it's a wild animal, mm-hmm. So I just thought that was.
Speaker 1Oh no, that poor man Makes you think you're doing okay, though, Right, Right. Well, I keep yelling at the squirrels on my front porch, but that's part of my low. They're out of control. They're so fat too from all these. I can get into that in our lows, but should we check in?
Speaker 2Yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 1Oh hey, nora, oh hi. How are you? I'm good. Tis the season to be thankful, it sure is. I love this time of year and you know where you can get some deals to really be thankful for when, mike Haggerty, buick, gmc Gosh. I should have guessed that, nora, I know I would be thankful if I could find a car that had an infinity roof. I have just the car for you, really, yes, have you checked out the 2024 GMC Hummer EV? No, I haven't, but I'm real particular in what features I want in my car. Well, I would really like a car with the trademark Super Cruise feature. Oh my goodness, driver assistance technology offering hands-free driving for compatible roads, including a three-year Super Cruise subscription. This is the car for you, and it crab walks. But wait, does it drive diagonally? Sure does. Bingo Drives diagonal to boot. What, okay, but how much available torque? Hmm, that's going to blow your mind, because I have a very specific number in mind. That's going to blow your mind straight through the infinity roof 11,500 pounds of available torque. That's exactly what I was looking for. Head on down to 93rd and Cicero, or check them out on haggardycarscom. Thank you, nora, for telling me about the car of my dreams, yeah, and just tell them that Nora sent you Will do.
Speaker 1And now back to the show. I'm really excited about our topic today. Go for it. It's art, yes, it is art in all its forms.
Speaker 1And I was just thinking about my favorite art museums and how much I was influenced by my mom because she was a docent at the Art Institute of Chicago for 35 years. That's a long time 35?, 35?, maybe 30. But a long time Decades. Yeah, every Wednesday morning she would go and she and her little group of Wednesday docents. They would give tours to school kids. Oh, that's so nice, which is a really wonderful thing. And so she knew the Art Institute like the back of her hand. Oh, I bet she did. So it was really fun to go. Would she take you guys? She would, yeah, and it was great.
Speaker 1It's great to go to a museum with somebody who knows the highlights yes, and the things. You're a good person to go to a museum. I'm a pretty good museum person. I just love museums. Yes, you do. They make me feel happy, they're organized, but they're inspirational. You never know what you're going to find. Really, chicago is like a mecca for museums. The Art Institute is pretty spectacular. When I was little. I remember their miniature museum, like their miniature exhibit.
Speaker 1Yes the miniature rooms. Those were somewhat like and that's the other thing that always astounds me with museums is when you think about that so much of the collections were in people's private homes. You know, like those miniature boxes belonged to someone. Someone collected those and had those made. Yes, like the fairy castle at the Museum of Science and Industry was in someone's home. So when you're looking at it you're like, oh, those are diamond-encrusted fixtures in a dollhouse.
Speaker 1Yes, it makes me think of the library, how they have that little cabinet at the Thomas Ford.
Speaker 2Library they do.
Speaker 1Yeah, and they have kids' stuff in there oh.
Speaker 2Like from their own personal collection. Oh, yes, yes, yes.
Speaker 1I know what you're talking about, but that's my favorite kind of art, is my kids' art. Oh yeah, that is true. I don't think I appreciate. I know I don't appreciate fine art. No.
Speaker 2Like I couldn't go to a gallery?
Speaker 1No, no, we're not really museum people Would you want to walk around and look at. But that's what I like about an art museum. I mean, I like all kinds of museums, yes, but an art museum is nice because it's almost like walking through a magazine. You know, what I did kind of want to go to, that I never did, was the Van Gogh the immersive one. Yeah, did you do that? And if you're like, oh, that's pretty or that's interesting, you can stop and read about it, but there's no pressure. There's no pressure and I think that's why I like an art museum. There's no pressure.
Speaker 1What do you think about art galleries? Art galleries I'm not as comfortable in those because I worry sometimes that I'm not fancy enough. Or they're like, expect you to buy something Like it's a million dollars, no, and it looks like my kid painted it. Oh, sometimes that's what I don't understand, but I have my. I appreciate the process. Can I share my favorite oh, yeah, museums with you? Okay, so my favorite I think one of my favorites is the National Portrait Gallery in London, and if people ever go to London, I'm like that should be your first stop, because, almost like a who's who, when you go to London. It's like all the kings and queens and all the important figures and you get to see them, all their portraits, and then when you go out and sightsee in London you're like, oh that's the person I remember Rambolin.
Speaker 1I saw her portrait at the Portrait Gallery. That's a great idea. And then there's a modern section and they have beautiful photographs of people like royalty, of pop stars, of movie like, of more contemporary figures, which are really, really cool. That. And then there's a museum in Paris I'm going to murder the name. You see, I think you would really love this museum. Okay, because again there's no.
Speaker 2Okay, maybe I should go.
Speaker 1I'll tell Ryan, the Musée de l'Angerie, I think that's how you say it. I think you're right, but it's kind of purposely built for Monet's water lilies paintings that are humongous. So I think there's four rooms and they're oval-shaped rooms and you just sit there and you're surrounded by these gigantic water lily paintings. Oh, and it's just like it's beautiful and you could go. I'll let that sit there for an hour. You could sit there for five minutes, all right, I'll add that to my list. You should. Okay, but there's not just painting, no, there's architecture, which Chicago is a great city for architecture. I'm a big fan of the architecture tour. Yes, the Chicago Architecture Foundation boat tour is awesome.
Speaker 1A nice day, yeah, and our kids do that as a field trip. I think they do Like you guys are lucky. They are. Like when people come to visit. I like to do that. That's a very nice thing Because it's a cool thing to see and they are, because I would imagine most kids learn about architecture but not every kid gets to drive 30 minutes and see it in real life.
Speaker 2Yes, and I like it because it's nice to be outside and just kind of chill and it feels cool to be floating around. Yeah.
Speaker 1But there's sculpture clothing. Have you ever? There's the Costume Institute at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, you know, like the Met Costume Gala, yes, so that's to benefit the Costume Institute and they usually do really cool exhibits and you can go there and see these amazing clothes. That's really fun. I think you would like that too. Okay, Again adding these all to the list. And then there's also a local museum, the Lizardo Museum in Oak Brook. Oh my God, I see that sign every time I pass it, you've gone in there.
Speaker 1I was in it. You went in In Elmhurst it used to be in Elmhurst. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 2I mean it's across.
Speaker 1It's across from the soccer fields. Oh, get out. And I was like a museum. Who would go to that museum, right?
Speaker 2there. It's so amazing, it is.
Speaker 1It's gemstones and it's fossils. They hit you with better marketing and it's incredible, so amazing, and they have a gift shop and, like your kids can pick out little like minerals and treasures and things. They have a castle that's made of gold it's mind blowing and all the gems. And so they have jewelry Every day. I literally see it every day. You should go. I'm going tomorrow. Yeah, add it to my list Because jewelry is a form of art. Yes, it is, it is. And speaking of, yes, we have some new art, some wearable art. You have some wearable art. It's wearable and it's permanent.
Speaker 2It is so this is a new trend.
Speaker 1It's not a tattoo. It's super exciting because there's this new trend of permanent jewelry. It is not a tattoo and it was brought to my attention by my friend, rebecca Rivera, and also my daughter's friend, maggie, in first grade. She had a bracelet and then I heard about it from Rebecca and Rebecca has her own business and she works with a company called J Bloom and she can do these bracelets and she was so kind. She met with us in the studio and she talked to us about it and she gave us our very own magic bracelets.
Speaker 1It was so cool to watch the process because it was so easy. The hardest part was choosing the actual bracelet, but the actual like putting on the bracelet was seamless, no blowtorches required. Yeah, she does it with these little tools and I'm very happy with my choice. Should we have our listeners take a listen? Okay, here we go. I'm so excited to welcome Rebecca Rivera to our show. We've known each other for a long time and you're here today to talk about your new business. Well, new to you and new to us yeah, so can you please introduce yourself and tell us about your new business? Well, new to you and new to us. Yeah, so can you please introduce yourself and tell us about?
Speaker 2your work, yeah, so, hi guys, I am Rebecca Rivera, so I recently just got into what is the new way of permanent jewelry. So typically, a lot of people are more used to like the welding jewelry of like having an actual welding tool and it being welded onto your wrist, but this one is completely different and it's very on the go, and it's very different compared to that, because I don't need a machine.
Speaker 1That's a bunch of those your tools. Yes, these are just my tools.
Speaker 2I mean, I feel like, whenever you say the word welding it's.
Speaker 1It's a little scary yeah, because. I picture a man in a mask with a blowtorch.
Speaker 2Exactly. And then with that, when it comes to it, I forgot how much it is, but like the machine itself is like thousands of dollars. And then on top of that you need insurance because obviously if something happens, if I burn you, or something God forbid, which I'm not doing today. So we're not using any of those. There's no fire, no fire.
Customizable Jewelry Business Opportunities
Speaker 1Very good hands, because she just has three small tools in front of her. None of them look like they could really get into too much trouble. And because this is so on trend right now, it's really popular. Even my daughter's first grade friends have these bracelets on and I was a little jealous because I heard about it from you. And then I saw it on this little girl and I was like what? Yes, this is crazy.
Speaker 2Can you tell?
Speaker 1us a little bit about the process, like how this all works.
Speaker 2Yeah, so like when you go into getting permanent jewelry, you're going to have a lot of choices on our end. So the jewelry company that I'm with is called J Bloom. Typically you just pick out your whatever jewelry there's necklaces, bracelets and inklets that we have permanent-wise and then you just pick. But like, literally the hardest part is picking it out Like that's it.
Speaker 1Would you like to be honest with us? Rebecca's been here for like 30 minutes. I did have a hard time committing.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's very, very hard because there's so many different designs, there's so many different trends. But what's so cool when it comes to this? Because it's not welding, I can still take it on and off for you guys, cause it comes with this little hoop. So that's what is what's the permanent part and that's why these tools, I just take it on and off, like these little pliers, like linking it on. So let's say, you are tired of that cool, you have my information. You're gonna message me and say, hey, I don't want it, I can take it off and put a new one on. Or we could also go a different route and I can get a class and you can still keep it and just wear it whenever oh the possibilities are endless.
Speaker 2so like it's yes, it's permanent and all, but you still have a chance to take it off and like even to, let's say you have a procedure coming up or anything too like that you can't wear jewelry. I could take it off for you and we can put it back on, so it's really really nice and like a lot of what my jewelry mom says, this is your no man's bracelet, because you don't need no man to put it on.
Speaker 1I was amazed, too at how many ways you could personalize it. Yes, can you talk to us a little bit about all the options, the charms, the engraving?
Speaker 2Yes, all the things. There's so many things, and it's not even just like the jewelry that can be engraved. There's even like ornaments, there's cups. There's so many different things that this company has oh through this Bloom company.
Speaker 1Yeah, they have so many.
Speaker 2But, like the jewelry itself, you can get any of these charms engraved for free, so it's not an extra cost of the jewelry, your jewelry. It's a flat rate and then you get whatever you want. You could even get like so like there's even pendants that you can get like someone's fingerprint.
Speaker 2Let's say, a loved one has passed away and you want their picture on there, you could literally get someone's picture. A lot of people do even like their dogs that passed away, or even if you're just a crazy dog, dog, mom, like I am, just put their names out in there and then have that. But even like the charms, literally any of it can get personalized. So it's a very fun gift and also, like I would say, like best friend thing, you guys can have matching ones. Or even like your moms, like a lot of, like my mom and daughters. They have like a lot of matching anklets together. Um, I had a mom and daughter that her daughters recently just moved to, I believe, georgia or something, and they got the same stack. Like they got three stacks, but her daughter got a gold stack and her mom got a silver stack, but they have the exact same. They can be so meaningful. Yes, it's so many different ways so it's so nice Like they're all around.
Speaker 1Like they're all around, like they're far away from each other, but they have the same yes, and they even got it says the same wrist even oh, it's so how?
Speaker 2so how should you decide right or left? I think it's just completely up to you of where you feel more comfortable, where you usually wear your jewelry. I have it all on my left just because I typically wear my watch on my left, so I I am also a very sensory person, so for me, having it on my right hand while I'm writing it kind of bugs oh, I was about that, yeah. So like I don't like having it like that, because then it's in my way and then I can't move it around. So that's also, I think, another reason why I do left.
Speaker 2But a lot of girls. Even though that they're righty, they'll still do the right side, but I think it's typically wherever you wear your jewelry most. They go that route. Cool, All right.
Speaker 1Did you make a choice? What are you going with? I'm going to go with this one, the gold.
Speaker 2This one is our chic chain, so that one is one of our most popular ones, and they all have different names and they also are different prices. For me, typically, the way I do it, the enamel ones are the little bit more expensive. They're between $50 to $55. And the regular ones, those ones are around $40.
Speaker 1Okay, that's good. And then if people are interested in your business or want to take a look at your inventory or what you have to offer. Where can they find more information?
Speaker 2So I actually have an Instagram account, but it is on my waxing page.
Speaker 1Okay, so I'm also you can go ahead.
Speaker 2I am, I am, so this is just like a little hobby that I like to do on the side, and I have this also as an added thing as like in my waxing studio. So my Instagram is thewaxingspot underscore, and then in my booking link you'll see my link tree on there and then you'll see j bloom on there and then you can make orders. Otherwise you can just dm me and then I can send it to you differently and it's a lot easier if I can send you like the little prompts and stuff and even what's cool about this? Like I can even be like even though, like how I'm doing this for you guys, like it's just a podcast, but I could even do this for like a party holiday that was my next question.
Speaker 1It's a really good idea if you are interested in booking a party. Yes, is that something you? We should get in touch with you absolutely the holidays coming absolutely.
Speaker 2So, like, let me be your entertainment. So you're having all your family members come in. Like I said, this is so, is so intimate and so customizable. So like, if you're having a party, this is the way that we would set it up. I do it on Facebook. We make a little Facebook group, so it's like a temple where part oh yeah, so it's like a jewel and everyone can see the option. No, everyone gets options, and then you also.
Speaker 1If you are customizing anything, I can have it on there already, so it's ready to go, yeah, and you can really get what you want you can choose from everything versus just what you bought, you're saying that they're starting to do school colors.
Speaker 2Yes, yes, there's a lot of school colors right now.
Speaker 1Spirit builder or like a school fundraiser. Fundraiser, yes, and.
Speaker 2I can specifically get that same thing. And what's cool about the fundraising thing? Because I do my own pricing, I can give back to that fundraiser. So, like, typically, what we like to do is like I can do, for every bracelet I do, I give you guys like $5 to the fundraiser. So it's not only like helping me, but I'm also helping you guys because it's not. I'm not making anything out of being at a fundraiser or even at a store. Even I can be in front of a storefront. I'm helping you get the clientele in the walk space and then you're also helping me get my word out.
Speaker 1It's a win-win.
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly, and it's great to have me so it's not like you're paying extra and for, like the parties. What's cool? If you're a host, Nora, you have, let's say you have like four people and they're each getting around two, so you'll end up having around seven chains bought, so that means your chain is free.
Speaker 1Oh, so a little perk for the host.
Speaker 2Exactly. And then the host. I know that when there's a certain amount, I get to spoil the host. It's super, super fun and very customizable, so it's really really nice, that's awesome.
Speaker 1Well, if you're looking to plan some things around the holidays, it sounds like Rebecca's your girl Absolutely and something fun and different, right yeah. And then you could even just do personal appointments too, even if you guys like how we're doing this, yeah, if a couple girls want to come in, yeah, yeah, I can even just go to their house, or we can even just go to the nearest coffee shop and I can just sit there.
Speaker 2Oh wait, because you don't have a blowtorch. Exactly.
Speaker 1I'll just have these little pliers and I pull up with my little bag, and that's it.
Speaker 2Well, let's go All right Shall we Hooray.
Speaker 1We took a bracelet break, took a bracelet break. We came out fancy and we're matchers. I that were matches. We had all these options and we went matching we did. You're very kind and very patient for us to sort this out. We did different hands, though. Yes, a huge thank you.
Speaker 2That's how people can tell us apart, for stopping in. I love that I love that.
Speaker 1This would be good for twin babies Like if you tell them about it.
Speaker 2Oh my God, yeah, with a little charm, with their initial on it, but thank you, rebecca, thank you for coming.
Speaker 1And remind people one last time how they can get a hold of you to book their appointment or to plan a party.
Speaker 2Yeah, so my Instagram account is thewaxinespot underscore and you can just DM me from there and we can either do a party, private appointment or anything like that. So these are darling and definitely.
Speaker 1Nora Suck a treat.
Speaker 2Thank you so much, thank you, guys, for having me. Bye, bye.
Speaker 1I'm telling you, if you are looking for a fun holiday activity to do with like a group of gal pals or to invite her over, this is it. I know Because she's super fun and nice and I really like it a lot more than I. I mean, I knew I was going to like it, but I really do. I know She'd be a fun addition to a cocktail party, a hundred percent, yeah. So thank you to Rebecca for joining us. Yeah, and shall we high and low? Yeah, we should. Uh-oh, my low, what is it? I'm back in physical therapy for my hamstring.
Speaker 1Oh, nora, I know, hopefully it'll be short-lived, but I think maybe Kate might think you just have a crush on her. That's also true. It's also maybe she is phenomenal. Hopefully Just a little blip on the radar. I hope so, but it's tricky to fit that into the day, indeed, and you always go super early I do go super, super early, which I don't know how you do it. Good for you, because then it's done.
Speaker 2Yeah, how about you?
Speaker 1My low is. We have a bit of a science experiment on our front porch because we put out our carved pumpkins and the squirrels have just like all that's left of Rory's is the stem. What they eat? The whole pumpkin. They eat the whole pumpkin. No, I have to get this picture from Aiden it's. We have the fattest squirrel you've ever seen just sitting on our steps with like a piece of pumpkin hanging out of its mouth. How did it eat the whole pumpkin? I don't know. I'll take pictures. But then Kevin's pumpkin is all mold. That is what ours were, and I'm waiting for the pumpkin smash. But I also kind of am waiting for my husband to take them off the front porch because it looks like a haunted house it's so gross, I know.
Speaker 1And then it rains, so then there's like water at the bottom of them. That's why they're moldy from the rain. But if the squirrels wouldn't have eaten them, the little pumpkin top would have kept it. But that's my, that's my low. It's just disgusting. What's your high? My high, well, speech club was last night and it went really well, so I'm happy for the kiddos. But my other, my real high, is my sister always invites us to her friendsgiving.
Speaker 2Oh, that sounds so fun, and it was last week and it was a blast.
Speaker 1Not only do I get to hang out with my brother and sister and their husband and wife, but my sister's friends are really awesome and it's super fun and the food was delicious.
Family Time Over Soccer and Activities
Speaker 1Did you feel like one of those squirrels. I played a couple games. I 100% felt like a big, fat squirrel. I ate so much that I was like I can't even have another drink, so you must have felt good in the morning. I felt great in the morning, Slightly heavier, but it was super fun. Oh nice. My high is that soccer was canceled on Monday and Tuesday and we didn't have anything yesterday. So we had dinner as a family four nights in a row Stop it. My kids all have one or two activities every day, so we're never really home after school. So they don't know what to do with free time. And I don't know what to do. Were they a little bit like sharks swimming around? Yeah Well, Mike took up a golf game in the driving range and Elle took a babysitting job. She was like this is we got to get out of here, Like I'm not used to being here, Uh-huh. But yeah, we had dinner as a family Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. That's incredible.
Speaker 1It was weird and nice all at once. Oh, that is a really nice high and, on that note, we'll go out and check out an art museum, or give Rebecca a call and have some wearable art. And don't forget to follow us on Instagram. Indeed, you'll see digital art on our Instagram. Bye.
