Hi, thanks for joining us tonight. It's Nora and Nora Tonight. Did you catch that? I did catch that. Welcome listeners to Nightcaps with the Noras, nightcaps with the Noras Oop, oop Cheers. But it was a real cheers. It was Because this is a real episode.

Speaker 1

It is, and I hope everyone had a very Merry Christmas and is looking forward to the new year. And as we look ahead to the new year, we thought it would be fun to kind of plot twist and record with a glass of bubbles in the evening, kind of tis the season, you know, and it is the season and there's a lot to celebrate and a lot to look forward to. I think this would not feel as authentic in like March or April on a Monday night. It also wouldn't probably be right to drink champagne on Wednesday at like 930 in the morning. True, yeah, all the stars have aligned. Don't you love the holidays? We sure do. It's a yes day.

Speaker 1

Do you have New Year's Eve plans? Are you inviting me somewhere? No, you're out of town. I'm going to be out of town. I know I'm in New York right now. Yeah, no, no, we don't, and we normally don't. I kind of like seeing how it evolves, because I think when we were younger, it was always so much pressure to plan the perfect New Year's Eve, and as we got older and now our kids go out, and so to keep tabs on two teenagers on New Year's Eve, you kind of have to have your wits about you. Well, and also my little guys like to stay up till midnight, which is tricky for me. Do you want to go to bed? They put on the New York New Year's for you and and you go to bed, and then they stay up for Chicago. Yes, and speaking of New Year, new York, new Year's yes, that's Robbie, you're going to bring in the New Year there. We will, yes, so it's a New York Christmas time for the Taylor fam and we're going to be out there and we have really big plans which you're going to have.

Speaker 1

A giggle, is it a museum fest? Of course, of course. Well, I'm cramming in as much as I can. We're going to go to Ellis Island and then we're going to go to one of my faves, the Tenement Museum. We've talked about this before, I think, on the podcast we have. I think that I went with my friend Michelle last year and I loved it so much and much, and so we're going to do Ellis Island. And then I thought that kind of goes hand in hand, because if you're going to Ellis Island where people you know, the immigrants, came through, and then to see a tenement where a lot of them ended up living, so I'm really excited, then we're going to yeah, we've said good things, that'll be nice. Yeah, it'll be good. We're going to see some movies, we're going to hang out, and then my wedding anniversary is New Year's Eve.

Speaker 1

I was going to mention that. Yeah, what year are you? At 19. What is the standard gift for 19? I'm hoping it's built-ins. Oh, obviously, I'm going to look it up right now.

Speaker 1

I would really like built-ins in our living room. You've been hoping for those for 19 years. No, I really have. We have them in our old house. And you know a guy. I know a guy but he moved to Arizona. Huh, shoot, shoot. So it's tricky. Wait, you should call my guy.

Speaker 1

I asked your guy and this is not a sponsorship situation. I asked him and he was like oh, no, that is not something I do Really. Yes, all right, hold the actual show. Is it built-ins? Hold the actual show. Is it built-ins? It's bronze. Stop it.

Speaker 1

Bronze built-ins, bronze built-ins. I look like a gothic church. You'll be the fanciest home in Springdale. Could you imagine coming into my house? These are my bronze built-ins. Rock solid marriage. Rock solid built-ins.

Speaker 1

Although, is that like third place, though? Maybe that's not great, I don't know. I think it's a pretty solid match. It's solid. All I know is nobody wants bronze built-ins. No, no one wants bronze built-ins. It's kind of fun to say, though. I just want them to be wood, not fancy.

Speaker 1

All right, let me see what the that's the traditional. Is the modern one? A Dyson? I also would like that Dyson hair thing. Let me see what that's the traditional is the modern one? I also would like that Dyson hair thing. Let me see what the modern 19 year gift is Dyson hair curler. Is that what it is? Unfortunately, it's still bronze.

Speaker 1

What? Here's a question, nora. What else could you get that's bronze besides a bronze medal or bronzed baby shoes? Yes, pennies, those are copper. Oh, I'll leave that up to you, as if you should edit that out. Similar color, I don't know. Gutters are those? No, those are copper too. Bronze. What is bronze? It's nothing, it's built-in. It's built-in. Come the hell with bronze. I want built-ins. Yeah, I'm gonna start a new one.

Speaker 1

So, anyways, that's me for my anniversary, your New Year's Eve, my New Year's Eve. But I kind of like that our anniversary is on New Year's Eve because it gives us a lot of freedom. If we want to make plans, we do. But then we can also be like oh, it's our anniversary, we're just going to hang out and stay. Yeah, you have all your bases covered. Yeah, that's so nice. Yeah, that is good.

Speaker 1

We don't have much on the radar for New Year's, although when I was in New York a couple years ago, we had drinks in Times Square, where you watched the well drop At the Marriott Marquis. That's where we stayed. Yes, well, I love to know that when you guys are in town and you don't have anything on the radar, that we get to celebrate together. Yes, because I have so much fun with you guys. Oh, same-sies, cheers, cheers, cheers. It's so fun.

Speaker 1

We should do this more often. We should do this more often, and I wonder if we could perhaps invite friends. I would love to invite a friend. You know who? I would love to invite who? Because it would be nice to reach out to people in our local community who are fun and who have interesting businesses or things to say or lead interesting lives. Wait a second, because then we can share it with our listeners. Are you thinking who I'm thinking of? I'm thinking of a place? Okay, a place, or a person? I'm thinking of a place Okay, a place. Or a person? I'm thinking of a person who owns a place. I was thinking we'd say one, two, three and then say their first and last name Okay, one, two, three.

Speaker 1

Daniel Chauvin yes, he would be great. He would be great because he owns a space that is the Opry. Yes, that caters to cocktails and nightcaps in the evening Mm-hmm, but is kind of like a, a meeting spot yes, but in the mornings it's coffee and Donuts and and that kind of vibe, and it's a really evolving space and he's also. You can go there for music, but you could also go there to watch a game, and he's also in the neighborhood, mm-hmm, and to watch a game, and he's also in the neighborhood, and he also has four kids like us. So let's reach out to Dan. We'll see if he wants to have a nightclub with us. Let's ring him in New Year. Yes, let's reach out to Dan Chauvin and let's remind our listeners to follow us on Instagram. If they're not, and tell a friend to tune in, we'll send it. Yeah.
