Two Noras and a Mic
Running
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
Running has a way of making people sound a little obsessed, and we get into why that is, even while we are still side-eyeing the idea of voluntarily doing the first mile. We start where we always seem to start: real life. Bootcut jeans making a comeback, foods we refuse to try on principle, and a bungee-jumping story that raises way too many safety questions. Then we do what any responsible adults do and conduct important research by taste testing wildly specific Oreos, including a banana pudding flavor that goes off the rails fast.
After the snack chaos, we shift into the real theme: running as a habit, a mindset, and a surprisingly powerful form of self-care. We talk about what makes running so accessible compared to other hobbies, how friendships deepen through training, and what it looks like to begin running in your 40s when you have never been “a runner.” We also dig into practical motivation, why starting with five minutes can be the right plan, and how structure, community, and even tools like ChatGPT can help you build a routine that does not wreck your life.
We round it out with running culture and trivia: why marathons are 26.2 miles, what Gen Z is doing with running clubs and sober socializing, and why breaking a record by a sliver still counts as history. If you want encouragement, laughs, and a beginner-friendly way to think about running without pressure, you are in the right place. Subscribe, share this with a friend who keeps “meaning to start,” and leave a review with your first tiny running goal: what are you willing to try this week?

Welcome Back And Bootcut Jeans
SPEAKER_00Hi, thanks for joining us today. It's Nora. And Nora. To those of you joining us for this tomfoolery week after week, welcome. And those of you just taking a chance on us this week. Right. Also welcome. Yes, I'm so glad you're here and coming back. You know what else is coming back, Nora? What's coming back? Bootcut jeans. I can't keep up. I literally got an email that said bootcut jeans are back. Did it talk to you? It well, it said it in the subject line. Okay. It's from Banana Republic. Now see, you save all your jeans.
unknownI do.
SPEAKER_00So you can go back into your 1999. A lot of my bootcut jeans are low rise.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_00Nothing good about the low rise. And I tried a pair on and I was like, no, this is a terrible idea. It's a little midriff figure. Well, I feel like when the low rise was popular, shirts were longer. Or at least I always bought long shirts. When the low, I felt like it was short, like the baby teeny. See, not for this, Nora. I was buying longer shirts, like a tunic. Like a very long, long torso. But I like boot cut because I liked wearing bootcut jeans with heels. Oh, I love a bootcut jean with heels. I loved that. I don't sometimes I feel like my quads look like quadzilla. Well, because you have very strong quads, because you're a runner. Woo-hoo, foreshadowing. Spoiler letter. But anyways. How have you been? Fine. Yeah, how about you? I've been good. I just feel like we haven't caught up in a while. Gosh, oh golly. You're actually my high. Another spoiler, but I'll wait till you get to that later. Because you've been very flexible and very patient with me in my schedule. I appreciate that. Thank you. You're welcome. Thank you.
Things You Know You Hate
SPEAKER_00I was listening to the radio today and there was a segment called Things I've Never Tried but Know I Don't Like. Oh. I was laughing out loud and like commenting on these callings. And it was funny. It was like cottage cheese. Why would I want to eat something watery with dairy chunks? But you like it. I I don't dislike it. Okay. I eat it more because it's low in calorie and high in protein. I was talking to your daughter about this. Yeah. Um why? Because she had come just into the office that I work in, and one of her friends was saying that she doesn't eat breakfast. And your daughter and I were like, that's a mistake. You should eat something for breakfast. And then your daughter was like, Yeah, I said I eat cereal, I eat total. She's like, ew gross, my mom eats oatmeal or cheese. Both disgusting. I was like, but those are very healthy. Yeah, but not very good. No. I call the oatmeal gruel. Things I don't like. Yogurt, somebody called in and said, I don't like yogurt. I've never tried it, but I don't like it. Somebody called it and said diving boards. Oh. Why would you climb up a space with your wet feet where somebody else's wet feet won't? Oh, gosh. Stand on a board above water and plunge into it. That's a very good point. Yeah. What about you? Is there some like I haven't bungee jumped, but I know I don't like it.
Crane Bungee Jumping In The 90s
SPEAKER_00You know who bungee jumped? My husband. My mom.
unknownGet out of town.
SPEAKER_00What? When and where and why? All the all the question words. So they had good friends, John and Gail Bone, who sent up and they owned a crane company. Oh. I think Imperial Crane Company. Okay. And they were based out of Chicago and did have some cranes in Scottsdale. And they did bungee jumping from the crane. So you're dad did it. So now that I think about it, I'm like, this wasn't like a certified Wait, so like did the crane lift your mom up and then like release her? I don't know. Yeah. I don't know. It was a long time ago. It was in like the early 90s. Everybody used to bungee jump. I was wearing a white sweatshirt that said guest jeans embroidered on it, and I thought it was so cool. That is cool. And they videotaped my mom doing it, which was also like. Was she happy with the experience? I remember her going, my legs are like jello. Maybe we'll get her on the pod. Wow. I'm definitely asking her about that the next time this year. My uncle did bungee jumping and my husband also did, but is it still a thing? I think I think it's available. I think it's mostly in like scenic places. You know, like by waterfalls or I'll tell you one thing. That sounds incredibly unspeakable. My uncle did it off a bridge in New Zealand. I think if it was a scenic place, there's no chance I'd look at anything while I was jumping. I would be like this the whole time. I no, I would no interest in that. One thing that I have never tried, but I know I don't like are oysters. Ooh, sink. I don't like oysters. I don't like the way it looks. I don't like the texture. I don't like the texture. Yeah, I'm with you. I don't like it sitting in its juices. No, no one likes oysters. Yeah. Oh, that's interesting. I like that's an interesting concept. I would say Rory, my son, has maybe like 99% of the things he doesn't like or things he has much better. Wait, what are yours? Bungie jumps oysters. I would agree with you on that. Most kinds of fish. But not all. But not all. Like I've had like a spicy turna hand roll sushi. I'll eat like calamari sometimes. I used to eat this like miso cod. So you'll eat an uncooked fish. I know, because it has like avocado and rice on it. But you will not eat a cooked fish. Especially if it has a face. Oh no, you're not eating anything that has to be deboned in front of me. No, thank you. Fair. Fair. I know one thing you will eat. What? Oreos? Okay, yes. All
Oreo Taste Test Gets Weird
SPEAKER_00right. So, as promised, two weeks late, I found the other two Oreos in the series. We had tried chicken and waffles, and it wasn't terrible, but it just grossed me out that that was the flavor. So I went and got banana pudding. Right. And then deep fried. So my family has dug into both. But deep fried isn't truly deep fried. It just tastes like deep fried. Correct. I was worried about that. Which is a whole nother level. Because if you go to like a fair, it's a real Oreo. It's a real deep fried. So this is like a Which have you ever had a deep-fried Oreo? No, but Mike was on, my oldest was on an air fryer kick years ago. And he air fried an Oreo. How was that? I don't remember really either way. We were at the San Janeiro Festival in New York City, me and my dad, and my brother, and Sean got a deep fried Oreo. And before he took a bite out of Bacos, the worst thing that could happen is that this is delicious. And he took a bite and grease ran down his face. Oh and he was like, he was like, this is not great. He's like, I don't like this. Oh gosh, I can't wait to taste the fake version. So hopefully no grease runs down our face. But then I also, I was at Walgreens. Hey, I saw these in line at Walgreens and I picked it up and I squeezed it. And then I kept walking. Yeah. What is it? So it's Reese's chocolate. Oh, it is. With like a cookies and cream filling inside. I'm going to start with that's a good idea. I think that's smart. But it looks I was like a kid. I squeezed it and kept walking. Like, what? But they're cute little ghosts. You know what I think it's going to taste like? What? What's like cookies and cream? What's like something with marshmallow with a chocolate covering on it? Oh no, no, women will. Okay, yeah. Like those when not windmill. Marshmallow. Shoot. I mean. It's a lot of cream. Sugar. It's it's creamier than I thought it would be. I mean, yeah? Mm-hmm. Great. You're gonna drink the whole bat. No, no, no, no. Leave them here for your kids. Okay. Not crazy about that. I'm crazy about it. Oh, good. Yeah. I mean it's gotta have what, twelve, thirteen, fifteen grams of sugar per piece. I didn't look. Yeah. But the happiest ghost I've ever seen on a piece of candy. The sweetest little ghost. He's very cute. Okay. Okay. Yeah, I had to get an iced tea. Yeah, you guys get these. All right. If you if you want something really sugary. Yeah. Okay. What do you want to do first? Let's do the banana ones first. Okay. Now I asked you and then just told you. Well, I would like to say I do like bananas. Okay, same. And I like banana cream pie. Okay. So it's a vanilla cookie, and part of the cream is yellow, part of it is white. It does not smell like a banana cream pie. It smells like a vitamin. Mm-mm. Oh, yeah. A melted runt. What? A melted runt. Oh! Remember? Yes. That is a hundred percent what it tastes like. It tastes like a banana runt, which is the worst runt. What are they called runs? Oh, because they were small? Do they still make runs? I hope not. Oh, this is bad. Oh, this is really bad. I can't eat. I'm not gonna finish that. No, no, no, no, no. Alright, well. Deep fried Oreo. That is the worst Oreo I've ever had. Really? Okay. It's pretty bad. Oh. Can you think of a worse one? I really for the next episode, I promise I'm gonna make a list of every single one we've tried. And I guess. And we're gonna we can rank them. Too bad we can't like put a reel together of all of them that we've tried. I know. We have tried a lot of Oreos. I didn't know they made so many Oyos. Yeah, I really liked that apple pie one. I liked the cookie dough one. That was my favorite. I also like the Selena Gomez one. Selena Gomez one. I liked that. Was it Post Malone?
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_00Oh, the cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll ones were good. All right, here we go. Let's get to it. Deep fried. So wait, before oh wait, before you bite in, why is there chocolate? So this is what I I was gonna say. I think I so they the cookie part looks vanilla. I think that's the fried part. And then there's chocolate there's like chocolate and vanilla cream on the inside. Is this oh it's the same chemistly consistency, yeah. Yeah. Okay. It's kind of squishy. I do not care for this. Is it bad though? Chicken and waffles. It's the best one. Oh, these are the three in the series. Yeah. It's just like it's kind of blah. It doesn't taste like it. So cookie doesn't have any flavor. The cream does, but the chocolate doesn't taste like chocolate. Mm-mm. No, but it's bad. Uh-huh. Okay. Yeah. Alright. Well, if you how crazy is it? Chicken and waffles is the best one. Hey, I wasn't hating on chicken and waffles. I just hate that it is chicken and waffles.
The Great Chicken Heist Explained
SPEAKER_00Wait, did you hear about the guy that stole 300 pounds of chicken? From a tribe chickens? No, no, no, no. Like chicken meat. Poultry.
unknownPoultry.
SPEAKER_00Breasts. I didn't. Amazing. No, I don't know. It could have been thighs. I'm not really sure. He's a breast man. Some good sized breasts. It wasn't like day. Oh. We're just weighing it. Oh, you got a roll. How about it? Oh, but wait. Yeah, I don't. I mean, why would you steal 300 pounds of chicken off a truck? I don't know. Why? A big barbecue? I don't know. That's just um you can't resell that. And who would you be like how would you resell it? Hey, chicken for sale.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_00You can't put that on Facebook. Oh, yuck. And you can't like sell it on the side of the road. You know, it's not like candy bars or you sell candy bars. You've seen like kids on subways and stuff selling candy. Well, I was thinking more like a tomato stand on the side of the road. Like a fruit stand. Yeah, that was a mistake. Did he get caught? I would think he would get caught because the smell. Well, I need to figure out if it got stuck. Yeah, 13 people were arrested. Oh, so is the whole group. So here's the criminals. So it was in Tennessee in a hotel parking lot.
unknownOh.
SPEAKER_00Do you want to guess what it was worth? This blew my mind. Oh, 300 pounds of chicken. I might have to write this down. 300 pounds of chicken, and it's like $10 a pound, or let's say $9 a pound. I don't know. Zero, zero. So like over $3,000? It was. It says it was $250,000 worth of food. Whoa. So these are some fancy chickens. Those were yeah. Was it recovered? It was. So the gang robbed a moving vehicle. Oh, like the semi-truck driver was like, yes, here. Mm-hmm. And then they got it got caught on camera by a passing motorist. It went viral. 13 people were arrested. Why? Do you think they were like, they thought it was an Amazon truck and then were like, shoot, it's chicken. I don't know. I would like to speak to these criminals. Can we find them, please? Um, would you like more information? Oh, sure. Do you have it? Or are you sending me the article? No, I'm gonna read a little bit later. Oh, thank you. Okay, so a six-person gang drove up in a white pickup truck behind the refrigerated delivery truck. Okay. And two men climbed out onto the moving truck. Hood? What? While speeding down the highway, they managed to pry open the rear doors of the delivery truck.
unknownWhat?
SPEAKER_00Operating completely in the blind spot of a delivery truck diver, they quickly hauled out seven crates containing roughly 300 pounds of frozen chicken, tossing them into a bed of their pickup before pulling away. The gang didn't realize they were being recorded. Of course they exploded on socials. The highway authorities quickly identified the vehicle and tracked him down. Way to go. Yeah. I mean, you've been on road trips, so have I. If you're driving down the highway and you see that happening, of course you would film it and call the police. I think I would call the police and then maybe film it. Or I would just be so taken aback that I would just be like gawking out the window. I don't know if I'd have the wherewithal to record it. Now I will. Now you'll you'll learn from these people. Okay. That's bananas. Wow. Banana cream pot. Banana cream or banana pudding. Oh, but oh, is it banana pudding? Banana pudding. I think I said the wrong name to go. Banana pudding. Still take it. It doesn't matter. I'm still not buying it. One last quick
The Giant Refillable Capri Sun
SPEAKER_00thing. So Capri Sun, how do you I was always medium on Capri Suns because I always had a hard time getting the straw in. I liked it, but my mom never bought it. So I always thought it was cool. What was it called? Not Tropical Cooler. It had an specific cooler. So they just came out with a new big pouch Capri Sun that is three times its normal size. Look at this. What the heck? Do our kids need any more sugar? So it's refillable. So it comes empty and you could put whatever you want in it. You can't even buy Capri Sun in a jar, can you? I don't well, it said you can. You can buy a jug of it. I mean, but this thing is gigantic. It's nine inches tall. No one needs that much. No one needs a foot six inches wide. Six inches wide. What? How many ounces is that? Look at this girl drinking it. It's so big. She needs two hands. It's like as big as her chest. Like her it like covers up her torso. It's insane. It's a bad choice. Yeah. Unless it fits a bottle of wine and you're trying to smuggle it in some. You're like, no, just my capricious. Did you spot? I don't know. Maybe that's my uh maybe that's their MO here. Who knows? Who knows? Should we check in with our sponsor and like cleanse our palate? Yeah. So good to see you. I feel like I haven't seen you in ages. Oh my gosh. Yesterday I was in Oakland. I got myself in quite a
Sponsor Break And New Car Smell
SPEAKER_00pickle. Oh, you know how I feel about pickles. And I have to tell you, I had the greatest service at Mike Haggerty Buick GMC. I left in a new car. Get out of town. I was in and out in a couple hours. I got all set up in a brand new 2026 Acadia. I got a chance to look at the Yukon, the UConn XL. I checked out the terrain. For a moment, I thought maybe I was Hummer EV material, but they talked some sense into me. And in no time, I was locked and loaded. Were you able to get it with all the features you wanted? They had everything available right on the lot. It was no trouble at all. And now I'm living large in my brand new car. Oh, and it's got that new car smell. New car. So I'm telling you, if you're in the market for a new car, head on down to 93rd and Cicero. And if you do, just tell them Nora sent you. And now back to the
Running Stories And Why It Sticks
SPEAKER_00show. Our topic today is running. Running. Yes. And one of us has more experience running than the other, Nora, but I'm still very happy to be talking about it. Yeah, I think we both are excited about our topic today. I love to run. Yes. And for a long time, you've been running forever. Running since 1981. Whoa. Well, maybe not so came out running. I hit the ground running. Um no, but truly, it's an important part of who I am. I have so many running memories for as long as I can remember. When I was a kid, I would bike beside my dad. And he was the one who not only taught me my multiplication facts where I would count on my fingers on the handlebars. Oh. But also taught me to run. That's cool. Yeah. How old were you then when you kind of stopped biking and started running with them? Well, I didn't actually start running until high school because I was a terrible math student. Oh. And my math teacher was the track and field coach or one of them. Okay. So in an attempt to get my grade up, I was like, I know what I'll do. I'll join the track team. And that helped me with math. I wasn't really that good of a runner or a math student. But I thought he would like me more. Oh, because he would get to know you. Yeah. Oh, well, yes. I mean, I passed math. Well, hey, you're here now. There you go. I didn't. I ended up as the track captain for a team. Really? Yes. Went to the state. Like I figured it was. I didn't know that. However, what was your event? It's a 400. However, my first year, I started my sophomore year. They told me I ran like I got shot. Which is funny considering like I ran like somebody shot me. Oh, like you were like drunk. Oh, you're open or like hitch in your gidea. Yeah. Oh, I feel like if someone shot me, I would just lay down. Fair. I don't know if I'd run at all. So I think that's a compliment. It's admirable, right? No, I it's funny now because here I am all these years later. Still running. Yes. Yeah. You've run marathons. You've run yeah, I've run half marathons. I've run marathons. You and I did the undie runs. We did. And the best part, because I am not a runner, and I had my Apple Watch on. And my I mean, my dad and my sister kind of share like exercise goals on it. The rings. And my dad texted me and asked if someone had stolen my Apple Watch because it said I completed my first run. All for a good cause. Thank you. I was like, no, I actually did run, but I just have never been drawn to it. And your sister is a runner. Yeah. Well, she kind of by accident because soccer was her sport, and we were living in Pennsylvania, and she was a really good soccer player. And then when she was a freshman, we moved to Chicago the summer before her freshman year. And my parents were like, You're going to Nazareth Can Me. And she was like, Okay, great. I'll do soccer. And my parents said, Oh, there's no girl soccer team. Shoot. So my dad was like, but soccer is a lot of running. You should do cross country. And how did she feel about that? Well, I think she was angry and sad, but she met some great friends on the cross country team, and then she did basketball, and then she ended up doing track in the spring. But then her senior year was the first year Naz had a girl soccer team. So she was the captain of the first girl soccer team, which is kind of cool. But my dad ran, but like my friend Stephanie and I walked the mile in eighth grade because we couldn't be bothered. Because we were like, we're not gonna be able to do that. How do you stay so fit?
unknownI don't know.
SPEAKER_00Just have good genius.
How A Non Runner Starts Small
SPEAKER_00But honestly, I will say this though, uh before this was even our topic, I was like, I've I've I like the idea of running and being by myself, being outside and looking around. And I but I I want to try to start. That's a great place. But I don't want to run with you because no, it would be bad. It would not be good. But I was like, could I start and like run for five? I I might just ask ChatGPT. Like, I am a 46 year old woman. I have never run. How do I start? Well, here's the deal. It's funny you should say that. So I've made some really good friends through running. Yeah. Or like developed friendships at a deeper level through running. And my dear friend Claire is running Berlin this weekend. And my sister is gonna see her. Oh my gosh, in Berlin. That's amazing. So I've been training with Claire, even though I'm not doing the marathon, which don't even fathom. And she had an injury. And so she's been going to physical therapy. We've had the same recurring injuries, but she's used Chat GBT to modify her training plan. And it won't Oh, really? Yeah. Okay. So it's not gonna try it. Yeah. Because I like I keep thinking like, oh, I gotta get back into Peloton or whatever. And I'm like, could I is it worth it just to run for five minutes? You don't have to run far or fast. Okay, good, because I won't do either. Oh good. Okay, well then you're but then But I need to do something. And and I like the fact that you can just put your shoes on and change. And your headphones in your headphones, I definitely need that. And then just go. Like I do like the idea of that. Like there's so it makes me feel like I've accomplished things. It clears my head. You feel like you can check it off your list before the day even starts. Yeah. Like there's so many things about it I love. And I feel good when I'm done. I don't necessarily like the hardest part is lacing up your shoes. Yeah. And getting out there. And the first mile is sometimes a pain. Okay. But then I don't know if I'm gonna have like multiple miles. You're gonna get there. I'll get there, maybe. Oh my gosh, people are gonna follow your journey. Okay. I'm gonna try. I really am gonna try. So we'll see how it goes. But you know, the first person who
Why Marathons Are 26.2 Miles
SPEAKER_00ran a marathon died, Nora. But not the second one. Do you know it's a Greek marathon? Like, do you know where it comes from? They ran from somewhere to marathon, but it was only 26 miles. Or it was so it was 25. This was did you research this? Like why it's 26.2? I know it's twenty they had to add 0.2 on because in the London marathon they couldn't stop in front of the royal box. Yes. So it was 25 miles. Because when the so like when the modern Olympic Games started in 1896, they're like, well, it will be 40 kilometers, which is 25 miles. But then when London hosted in 1908, they're like, well, it's starting in Windsor Castle and they have to finish in front of the royal box. So it's now 26.2. And they changed it and it's stuck, which is kind of crazy to me that that they were like, all right, yeah, we'll just keep it 26.2. That's fine. Seems easy enough. Right? I was like, wow. I can't believe that only 1% of people have run a marathon because I feel like I know so many people. I know so many runners. True, but I know a lot who are not as well. That's fair. Oh, that's fair. And I mean, I don't I think you enjoyed the training, but that training is grueling. I do enjoy the training. And it's a lot. Like this morning, I did 12 miles. Oh, Jesus. And I loved last night because you get to lay your clothes out and you kind of carb up and get your liquid IV also. And then in the morning, your alarm goes off. You're like, all right, I've been So it was dark when you ran. I have a headlamp. Oh the biggest nerve. No, but that's good. I'm glad to hear that you're being safe. But it's like the prep for it, I enjoy as much as the run because I don't know. Yeah. You feel good like getting ready to do it, and then you go to bed kind of psyched. Oh, but you wake up tired. Could I sleep in my running clothes the night before? Yeah. So then when I wake up from distress. That's true. And then you roll out. Roll out. All right. But that's
Gen Z Running Clubs And Records
SPEAKER_00exciting. How about Gen Z, though? They're like all over running clubs right now. Oh, really? Exploding. Oh. Well, that's good. Way to go, Gen Z. Gen Z. Sober socializing. Yeah. Oh, yeah. This is a thing. On college campuses now, they're doing like daytime parties. Darties. Darties. You saw us. Well, I know all about us. I love a good Darty. A Dartie? With like yoga and cleanses and juices and stuff. But you can also do drinking Darty. You could oh you can. Oh yeah. Oh, okay. I thought I thought a Darty was like D for like a dry party. Like. Oh. But I guess daytime. Daytime party. But I like I like the Gen Z running club. I think that's a good idea. And they do it to escape loneliness for a dating scene. It's affordable. It's easily accessible. It's goal-oriented. Well, that is what I like about running to that appeals to me, that you can just try it without equipment. You don't need anything in any one. Yeah. Because I really like the idea of learning to golf, but then I'm like, I'm not buying golf clubs. Or giving it four hours. And taking lessons to learn how to do it. And then I'm like not doing it right. And then I'm yeah. Yeah. You can't run wrong. Mmm. Oh, bang. I mean, you can run like you had shot. How about the guy who broke the record this year in July in London? Oh, did he break the marathon record? He broke the mile record. The mile. So forever it was like three minutes and 43 seconds. That's crazy. And some change, and he did three minutes 42 seconds. Oh, I'm so happy for him. Josh Kerr. Josh, wait a point. Josh. Yeah. Oh my god, you it's because it's one of those things you're like, it doesn't matter what you beat it by, you just beat it. Yeah. One second. Not even, because it was three minutes 42 seconds. And milliseconds. 0.66 milliseconds. Wow. So he beat it by 40 milliseconds. I always it always makes me like four tenths of a second. I'm like, I don't know. Well, remember your husband was trying to do the six-minute mile with the bud his buddies? Yes. I did that with them. Well, him. His friends in New York. He was doing it like satellite. Yeah, I don't know why I choose to train with people for things I'm not even a part of. You're a very good friend. You're a good running buddy. But you know what? I mean, there's there's probably a side of it that's like the training is fun without the pressure of having to like perform, I guess. Yeah. I don't know. I don't know either. I'm just excited that you're gonna get on this little running train. I'm gonna try. Okay. I don't know how it's gonna go. Well, it's gonna go great. Do you have shoes? I mean, I have gym shoes. I don't have running shoes. Okay. Well, maybe I should try it first before I entered. With the running shoes. Oh, yeah? Yeah. Okay. It's an excuse to get a new pair of shoes. Remember there was like a this trend where people are running barefoot? Yes. I think that's a thing. Disgusting. And unsafe. Yes. Yeah. Don't do that. Oh, step on something. Put on your shoes. Put your shoes on. Your shoes on. There's lovely shoes out there. They're very good option. They're a very good option. All right. Well, yeah, hooray for running, but we'll see how it goes. Or check back in with you next week. Yeah. But we should do highs
Highs Lows And A Goodbye Pun
SPEAKER_00and lows. Oh, we should. Yeah. My low is that on Wednesday, I was supposed to go to a third-grade mom social thing. And number one, I totally forgot about it. And then number two, I was like, oh, I don't feel good. And I think it's because I got my flu shot that morning. Oh, probably. And I was like, why don't I like I felt just kind of achy and like, and I didn't feel good. I was like, I can't believe you're not going to this thing. And I'm like, I really just don't feel like it. I don't feel good. And then when I went to bed that night, like when I changed my clothes and I felt the the band-aid, I was like, oh, maybe that's why. Well, you looked at me like what? Because you were like, oh, what did you do? Like, oh, where is third grade? I think you were like, when are you leaving for your thing? And I was like, what? What thing? Yeah, that was the face you made too. Well, because I I asked Al if I something about the car, and he's like, No, I'm gonna ride my bike. I was like, Well, that's ridiculous. You're going to Wisconsin. And he was like, You're I I just completely forgot and I didn't feel good. And I'm sad I missed it. Because those are nice moms. And I should have just gone. There'll be another one. Rats. Should have cut a wada. What's your loan? Um, I don't really have a lung. That's amazing. Every now and then, right? Yeah. It's nice to just once you had two highs, remember? I know. That wasn't. Yeah, that's good too. Remember that one time in the last five years I had two. But you, my friend, are my high this week. I am. You've been so lovely and so flexible and kind to change our whole podcast schedule. And I really, really appreciate it. Thank you, thank you. And I appreciate it. Very, very much that you're being so flexible. We always have such a good laugh. Yeah, we do. And we it's kind of like running. We get like a podcaster high. It's all the endorphins. Oh, right. I agree. Oh, my high is this weekend. We were lucky enough to spend some time with just Mike at Auburn. The Westfalls were nice enough to watch the kids overnight, and then my parents stepped in, which was a huge help. Oh nice too. Equally grateful for both sides making that happen for us because we had a blast with Mike. So that's awesome. He really liked the school. He loved, yeah, went to Auburn and uh he loved it. And I'm really proud of him because he's done all of his common app stock by himself. And it's been a really seamless process so far, and he's very driven and he's got all his ducks in a row. I'm so excited. He told me to he asked me if I had all my ducks in the basket. I said ducks in a row. They're like, thankfully, no. I got my ducks in a row and my eggs in the basket. He said, Maybe that's the southern version. He's getting ready to go to the south. Yeah, so we had a blast with them. We very barely spend one-on-one time with our kids. So it was a great trip and it was a quick trip. Yeah. It was certainly my high. That's awesome. Yeah. Well, we gotta run. Have you been waiting all? No, I just came up with that. All right, uh, but thanks for being here. Thanks for coming. Try and Oreo and catch us next week. Bye.
