Hi there and welcome to today's episode of Wealthy Wellness Business with your host, nicole Harlow. Today, as the title suggests, we are talking about the number one mistake I see wellness pros making on social media, and this is not aligning your content with your core mission. So I know that's a little bit like broad, so I'm going to unpack like what that actually means. So I know that's a little bit like broad, so I'm going to unpack like what that actually means. Here's how I see it. So it's easy to really it's really easy actually to fall into a common trap of posting generic wellness tips or hopping on trends, right, and so like when you're looking at your social media, you're like, well, how do I make this better? How do we get new followers? How do we translate that into like discovery calls and clients? And it's easy to just be like, oh yeah, we're going to, like, you know, use chat, gpt to get some like wellness tips, or we're going to follow and see, like, what trends are going on and audio and stuff like that. But I want to show you why that might be doing more harm than good and how you can pivot to a more impactful approach that's specific for your business. So let's talk about the mistake that many wellness professionals make on social media platforms. The issue is posting content that doesn't resonate with your unique expertise or meet your audience's specific needs. So when you post generic wellness tips or you're just echoing the latest health trends, your unique voice gets totally lost in the sea of wellness content that's already out there. So we live in the information age and everything's just a Google away, or even a chat GPT away. So the real downside here is that potential clients can't distinguish your special offerings or the unique approach that sets you apart from others in the field. So what they're just seeing is just like a clog of like five reasons why you should drink water every day. Right, tell me what's unique about you, how you work with people, give me your unique law, give me your unique voice, and for me, this is really like a significant miss, because when your voice gets lost, so does the essence of your brand. So, as I see it, your social media should be a direct reflection of what you stand for, the services that you excel in, like what are you known for, what do you want to be known for, and also the transformation that you facilitate in your client's life. So if your posts aren't reflecting this what you stand for, the services you excel in, and transformation then you're not really fully leveraging the power of social media to grow your practice.
Speaker 1:So, having said that, I want to shift gears, because this is a short episode, and talk about some actionable advice that can help you realign your social media efforts with your mission. So, firstly, what I want you to do is I want you to define your niche, if you haven't already. It's crucial to really clarify your area of expertise. So I want you to ask yourself what unique perspective or solution do you offer? When you understand this, it'll guide you in creating content that showcases your specializations and attracts the right audience, because it helps you to stand out from the crowd. Secondly, I want you to know your audience, and this goes beyond just surface level demographics. These are deep dives into understanding their challenges, their desires and also the specific problems they face that only you can solve. I know not only you, because I know there's probably other people who can do it too, but it's nice to say, only I can solve it, and this understanding is really going to shape the content that truly resonates and engages with your audience.
Speaker 1:Thirdly, I want you to create value driven content. What I mean by that is that every piece of content you post should offer value that aligns with your mission, with the core mission, unique selling point of your business. So, whether it's educational information, it can be inspirational stories, it can be practical tips that are specific to your niche and your or can entertain as well. Right, so your content should educate, it should inspire and it should connect on a meaningful level in a way that's very specific to you. So, fourth, showcase your journey. This is super important. Share your personal and professional experiences, the things that led you to where you're at today. Authenticity it builds trust and trust is a cornerstone of any successful wellness practice. So let your audience see the human behind the brand, or humans.
Speaker 1:If you have a team Now, if you use Instagram, the Instagram stories is a great place to do this. I've talked about this in the past. Instagram stories is where I really want to see you walking your talk. If you talk about healthy lifestyle, if you talk about healthy living, I want you to showcase that to the people who are following you and also show them you having work-life balance. Show with your family. Show you enjoying a day. Show you doing something that you're passionate about outside of work.
Speaker 1:And lastly, here and super importantly, is to engage meaningfully. So remember that social media isn't just a broadcasting platform. It's actually a community space, and it's easy to forget about that, especially if we're like, really hung up on. Like I need to post three times a week and this is what it's going to be, and I got to follow the trends. Remember to engage with your followers actively, answer their questions, acknowledge their struggles, celebrate their wins all of that kind of good stuff that creates nice, juicy relationships. This builds a community around your brand and makes your followers feel valued and understood.
Speaker 1:So here, at the end of this little mini episode, I just want to let you know that transforming your social media presence to reflect your wellness mission it's not just about changing how you post.
Speaker 1:A lot of times, it's about rethinking what and why you post. So if you're ready to make your social media a true reflection of your wellness mission and elevate your online presence with strategy and with a little bit of soul, I would love to talk to you about working with us here at Brand Better to help take over your social media. You can book a discovery call, and I just want you to know that we're really here to help you navigate the social media landscape with two things that, for me, are really important One is confidence and the other is purpose. Right, when we come together with confidence and purpose, we can really excel in our business. I want to thank you so much for joining today's little mini discussion on wealthy wellness biz. And remember effective social media marketing is about more than just likes and shares. I know you've heard this from me in the past, but it really is about making real connections and fostering a community, one that aligns with your passions and one that inspires health and wellness. I'll see you on the next episode.
