Speaker 1:

Hi and welcome to today's episode of Wealthy Wellness Biz with Nicole Harlow. Today we're diving into a powerful way to make your mark in the vast world of wellness. That can feel a little bit like murky and feel a little bit like how will I even like get seen? There's so many other practitioners, so many other social media channels. Well, for me, it's all about podcasting. So if you've ever considered starting a podcast or wondered why it might be beneficial for your wellness business, this episode is for you. So at the end of this little mini episode, I'm going to walk you through some ways that you can get started with us to start your own podcast.

Speaker 1:

So in the wellness industry, standing out isn't just a goal. Really, it is a necessity. It's a very crowded marketplace. There's a lot of people who are clamoring for market share and space within social media, et cetera. It was so much information and so many experts out there. Finding a unique way to elevate your voice and expertise is totally crucial. What I love about podcasting is that it offers a distinctive platform to do that, so you can elevate your voice. You can find what's unique and build relationships and showcase your expertise in a very like efficient way. For me. I really like efficiency, so I want to go through some reasons why I think podcasting can be a real game changer for wellness professionals.

Speaker 1:

So number one, firstly, is that podcasting allows you to establish authority, and this is really, really, really, really important, especially within the health and the wellness field. So by sharing your knowledge and insights, you position yourself as a thought leader in your field. It's one thing to write a blog post or to share a quick tip on social media. It's another to delve deep into topics on a podcast kind of like we're doing here. Right, the episodes don't even have to be super long, they can be 10 to 15 to 20 minutes, but you're offering things like nuanced perspectives. And you're offering things like nuanced perspectives and you're offering expert advice that truly showcases your expertise.

Speaker 1:

Secondly, podcasts create intimate conversations with your audience. So, unlike many other media, social media included, podcast feels like a one-on-one conversation with each listener. It fosters a sense of trust and loyalty and for wellness professionals, where trust is totally paramount, this can be the key to building a devoted audience. So think about even how you consume podcasting it's very introverted, it's very connected. You've got your headphones on your earbuds, you're out for a walk. We tend to listen to podcasts, not when we're sitting having a conversation with somebody else, but usually when we want to kind of intimately focus, and that allows you to like even hear how you're listening to this podcast. It allows us to create a kind of a one-on-one connection, one-on-one conversation, in a way that social media really doesn't, because social media feels like everybody talking at one time.

Speaker 1:

Thirdly, with a podcast you can expand your reach far beyond your local community to a global audience. So podcasts are global. I was watching a show recently where they went to like a nunnery that was on like a little tiny island in Ireland and this is fictional, but the nuns were all talking about how they love podcasts and they love listening to podcasts and just made me think about that. So being able to expand beyond your community is especially valuable in the wellness space, where the topics you can cover. They can definitely resonate with listeners around the world right, who are maybe having the same problems. This can bring in potential clients from every corner of the globe. So additionally, and something that I love is, podcasting helps you to diversify your content, so you can repurpose podcast content across social media, newsletters, blogs.

Speaker 1:

But when I talked about efficiency. This is where the efficiency comes in. So this not only streamlines your content strategy, but it also ensures that you reach people across multiple platforms, which can really maximize your marketing efforts. One thing that I do as well is sometimes I use podcast episodes as the very front of like a funnel and Facebook ads, right, and so that's a great way. You're not asking people for even for an email address or for them to download a lead magnet. You're just asking them to kind of like meet you right, and listen to some great information and start to develop like the first step in that relationship. But I'm really in it for also the efficiency of like marketing. So I know right now, when I'm recording this podcast episode, that this will also turn into social media posts. It will most likely go out on my mailing list, it can turn into a blog on my website and then it could potentially turn into something like a Facebook ad.

Speaker 1:

So, lastly, in our tips here, personal growth is a significant benefit of podcasting. So something that I love and this is something that people don't really think about because you kind of focus more on the marketing side of it but hosting a podcast it hones your speaking skills. It also expands your network through guest interviews, so you're getting to know more people as you interview them. You're getting that connection, and it also encourages continuous learning and research. So each episode is an opportunity for you to grow personally and professionally. So not only are you giving out great information to find potential clients, but you're also experiencing growth personal growth in your speaking and also professional growth in that every episode you need to actually sit down and think about like what is my, not only like what. What kind of what's my line in the sand around this topic Right? So I wanted to just kind of talk about some actionable steps to launch a podcast. Since we're talking about how important a podcast is, we can do a just a little like mini debrief around like how to launch one.

Speaker 1:

So first off is to identify your niche. So focus on the specific aspect of wellness that you're passionate and knowledgeable in. The shows that are more focused are the shows that are more successful, so this will specifically attract a target audience that's genuinely interested in your content. Number two is to plan your content, map out your episodes to provide real value, whether it's through tips, interviews, personal stories or a combination of all three or just one you get to pick. See, this is your show. You get to do what you want, but making sure that you're planning ensures that you've got like a coherent flow and it helps keep your content focused and engaging as well. Number three is to invest in quality. So this is huge right.

Speaker 1:

Audio quality can make or break your podcast. What I love about podcasting, as a side note, is that you don't have to be on video if you don't want to right now and like in my pajamas recording this. I love podcasting because I don't have to, like, do my hair or anything like that, but the audio quality is so important. So I want to make sure that you have the right equipment, that your sound is clear and professional. Hiring a professional audio editing team like Brand Better could really be the thing that keeps listeners coming back to your show, and also on the opposite is that poor audio can be a total distraction and it really detracts from your message and it detracts from your brand as well.

Speaker 1:

Number four is to promote your podcast so you can utilize existing platforms to let your audience know about your podcast.

Speaker 1:

I like using snippets on social media, I like to mention it in newsletters, mailing lists and then also when you're doing your intros and outros reminding listeners to subscribe. So, wrapping up the episode, just want to let you know again that, brand Better, we guide you through every step of creating a podcast, one that resonates with your mission and connects deeply with your audience. Your voice matters, so I want to make sure that it's heard, and we have two ways that you can learn and work with us. One is through our team launching your show for you, doing all the audio, editing, the social media blasts, show notes, et cetera. And then the other one is through our profitable wellness podcast program. You'll find links down below, and that's more of a DIY. So thank you for tuning in to today's episode. Remember that launching a podcast could be the next big step in expanding your wellness business. Let's get your message out there loud and clear. Thanks a lot and I'll see you in the next episode.
