Matt and I dive into how he built his team and how this leverage was able to keep his business running while he was recovering from a Kidney Transplant. We also talk about wealth building through real estate and how building good habits early on was the key to his success.

Matt has lived in the triangle since 1980 and graduated from
Cary High. Matt next attended North Carolina State University, graduating magna cum laude in 2002 and
began his career as a high school math teacher and basketball coach. After working a "summer job" as a
fill-in agent for a local builder, Matt discovered a passion and talent for real estate sales. He realized that
educating his clients and coaching them through the sales process mimicked much of what he loved
about teaching, and so began his successful career in real estate!

After a few years gaining accolades as a top onsite sales professional with a consistent 100% customer
satisfaction score from every client he assisted, Matt went into general brokerage and established The
Perry Group in 2011. His passion for helping his clients has resulted in a referral base of over 85% for his
business. Under his leadership, The Perry Group has been recognized as Top 10 among all 11,000+
Triangle Area real estate brokers for 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. In addition to running The Perry Group, Matt is the Operating Principal for the Keller Williams Elite Realty office in the Triangle.
