Cultural Bridges: The Siekopai Nation & The Amazon Rainforest - Featuring Kumiko Hayashi

Nihad E. K. McBride

Kumiko is a humanitarian, environmental activist, indigenous rights advocate, producer, and filmmaker. She is also a culture champion and a proud Japanese American.

For the last few years, she left her beloved town of Sedona in Arizona to live with the Siekopai nation in Ecuador to transform the environmental crisis through culture, ceremony, and community work.

Creating paths to wealth and protecting ancestral cultures and knowledge, a way of life, and the integrity of the Amazon Rainforest is at the core of everything she does. She will produce and direct more documentaries and short videos to support her humanitarian work.
