Show Notes

For our third episode, we're continuing to celebrate the month of October with some SPOOOOKY commentaries.

Usually, we review a movie through its commentary but this week is something a bit different. Instead of reviewing a movie, we're reviewing the audio commentary itself. What commentary is it? One of the best (if not THE best) "Jaws" rip-offs: "The Car", featuring director Elliot Silverstein and Arrow Video producer Callum Waddel.  It's one of the most awkward things I've ever beheld and I have to share it with you. (Please don't sue me, Arrow.)

How much can a member of the old guard stonewall the new generation cinema bros? Why would you keep recording a commentary if your subject is in direct opposition to it? How does someone admit their film is a "Jaws" rip-off and then deny it minutes later?

The answers to these questions and more await you when you press play!

Ryan's Recommendations: "Death Race 2000" (1975), "Gone in Sixty Seconds" (1974), and "Christine" (1983)
