Life In The Ted Lane

Autumn Plans, HCBS Benefits Appeal, And Halloween Audio Fun

6630 Productions

Send us a text message to say hi! We’d love to hear from you.

Autumn brings momentum—and a little mischief. We’re sending a compact update packed with big announcements: real progress on a benefits appeal that affects daily life, and a creative sprint toward Halloween with a brand-new horror audio piece in the works. Think of this one like a voice note from friends on a crisp evening walk: quick, warm, and full of hints about what’s coming next.

We share why a stipulated agreement with the Department of Human Services matters, and what “cautiously optimistic” looks like when the outcome supports Ted’s home and community based services.

Next we shift into the art of fear. We’re entering the 11th Hour Audio Challenge, crafting a scary story that leans on sound design, pacing, and the eerie intimacy of headphones. Expect callbacks to our earlier piece Martin’s Glaring, inspired by the classic tale Wait Till Martin Comes, plus a special Halloween release you’ll want to queue up after dark.

There’s more: a tease of a ghost encounter in Cape May, New Jersey—historic streets by day, whispers by night.

No Muppet news this round, but plenty of October joy, Philly pride, and an open invitation to shape what we make next.

We want this to be a two-way conversation. Tap the link in the show notes to ask questions, share your own spooky tales, or tell us what you’d like to hear when the longer, juicier episode lands. If this update made your walk fly by, follow the show, leave a quick review, and share it with a friend who loves fall, folklore, and real-life wins.

May your life be filled with magic!

SPEAKER_00:

Hello, welcome to another episode of Life in the Ted Lane. Here we are enjoying this wonderful weather. This is an update episode. We have full details of a big episode coming soon. We're gonna talk about benefits, spooky season, and coming attractions. Also, today we're recording a little bit differently because we're using wireless microphones and Lindsay's photo record. Think of this as getting a nice voice note for a friend. First up, my adventures. Adventures at home of community services. We have had my appeal hearing, and to make a long story short, a stipulated agreement where the Department of Human Services used my documents, and I have an opportunity to redo my interviews. Full story of the next episode for now we're cautiously optimistic.

SPEAKER_01:

We we did pretty well with the interviews, but we're again when I say that we're cautiously optimistic, cautiously is capitalized.

SPEAKER_00:

Next spooky season updates. I, yours truly, and Lindsay are going to make a scary story to share with the 11th hour audio challenge. What is the 11th hour audio challenge, Ted? Basically, it is a podcast that you do every Halloween on October 30th. And they do it, do it where people record their own scary stories with their friends. Then they post them on the podcast. They use the broadcast of Halloween.

SPEAKER_01:

Yeah, they play it on October 30th, which is International Radio Drama Day, or World Audio Drama Day, or World Radio Drama Day. I can't remember the exact name. But in any case, yes, Ted, you were exactly right. What he said.

SPEAKER_00:

We have done this before with a short story called Martin's Glory, which is actually based on Wait Till Martin comes. We haven't shared this on the podcast before. No, we haven't shared it on our podcast before. Well, we could do that a special Halloween treat. I think that's a good idea, Ted. Keep your ears peeled for some special scary stories for Halloween. Special scary stories for Halloween coming soon. And what else, Ted? In the next episode, you'll be able to hear about how I saw a ghost in Cape May, New Jersey.

SPEAKER_01:

Woo!

SPEAKER_00:

We apologize for the lack of Muppet news this time around. I guess a short update episode. Yeah, this is just a short update. And next time, hopefully, we'll have some Muppet news to share. We hope that you're definitely enjoying October and autumn, which is definitely the best month of the year, especially in Philadelphia. October is also a busy month of the year for both of us. We're glad you're on this journey with us. Thank you for listening. We'll be back with a nice juicy episode soon. Thank you all for listening.

SPEAKER_01:
