Calling Out Entitlement During Jamaica’s Category 5 Storm
A Category 5 hurricane isn’t room service gone wrong—it’s survival mode for an entire island. We unpack the viral clip of a resort guest in Jamaica who mocked the meals delivered during the storm, and we lay out why this hits a nerve: workers showed up while their own families sheltered, kitchens pivoted to shelf-stable options, and staff kept hundreds of people fed without full power or supply chains. Entitlement didn’t just miss the moment; it disrespected the people holding the line.
We walk through the reality of emergency food service—simple proteins, pantry goods, and packaging that doubles as serving ware—designed to keep guests safe when resources are limited. The menu wasn’t a downgrade; it was disaster logistics done right. Along the way, we spotlight the guests who chose to help: sweeping debris, checking on neighbors, and thanking staff who kept the lights of hospitality flickering through the storm. Those small acts compound into real resilience.
This conversation widens to travel ethics, crisis expectations, and the role of social media. When you decide to ride out a storm in a destination, you accept constraints. The question shifts from “Is this five-star?” to “Is this safe and sufficient?” Publicly dragging workers in the middle of a catastrophe undermines morale, while public gratitude sharpens coordination and community trust. Jamaica is facing one of its strongest storms in nearly a century; recovery needs empathy, patience, and hands willing to help.

Uh good morning, good morning, good morning, everyone. Hope everybody's doing okay. I hope everybody's doing good. Man, I had a long night, but I'm up late. It's your boy Damon. I'm here with the DK and Tree Podcast. Man, um, yeah, this that this nonsense doesn't stop. It's two shows I've uploaded now dealing with ungratefulness, ungrateful people, ungratefulness of people, especially what happened in Jamaica with the citizens down there. And it just makes no sense that even more people are being ungrateful down there. It it it's it's really, really sad. It really makes no sense. I'm gonna play a video, and of course, I'll let you hear for yourself, and then we'll go from there.
SPEAKER_00:Well, look at here, another entitled Ungrateful Tourist currently in Jamaica during a category five hurricane. What could possibly be her issue? Let's find out. Meet Samora. I guess I'm pronouncing it correctly, but who cares? Let's find out what she's pissed off or upset or disgusted about. She's currently staying at the Secrets All-Inclusive Resort in Jamaica during a category five hurricane, and she proceeds to create a video showing the food that the staff brought for her and the person that is in the room for her. They received four bags. Two of the bags had multiple containers of food. As you can see, this is a container, this is a container, this is another one up at the top. It's some other one over here with some fruit cocktails in it. And then you can see there's some containers underneath here. What could possibly be the problem? It looks like she's being fed along with the other guests in the room with her. But what could be the problem? Hmm, let's take a look at what's inside these containers. So she proceeds to show us this container. It looks like some potatoes, some carrots, and some cucumbers. I don't see a problem here. It's a category five hurricane. What are you expecting? Caviar, steak, sushi, a crab bull. Thank you for bringing this to me. I'm grateful I have some substance. Yeah, but let's continue to look into the containers. Uh, do you see anything wrong with this food? I mean, let me know. But let's keep going. Look at here. We have crackers, cheese, a variety of cheese, two bread rolls, some lettuce, and a variety of meats. I don't know about you, but I love me some charcuterie. Mm-hmm. Definitely can make a sandwich nibble substance. It's a category five hurricane. Thank you. I'm grateful. It's something to have on my stomach to sustain me. But what is the problem? Why is she disgusted? Why is she complaining? Let's keep going. Well, what do we have here? Breakfast, eggs, bacon, two hash browns, and it looks like some either vegetables or salsa over there. Pretty good breakfast during a category five hurricane where there's possibly no electricity, no gas, or anything to really, really prepare a smorgasbord, a variety of buffet foods, but it's something to sustain you. So, what is the problem, Samora? What is the problem? I'm sick of it. I am sick of it. This is a true example of being ungrateful. The people who prepare this food are at work currently and not at home, buckling down with their families. Do you understand that the residents of Jamaica could lose everything at a moment's notice due to this hurricane? And you have a problem with hash browns, bull egg, and bacon to help sustain your life when their families' lives could be in danger. How dare you set up in your room in Jamaica where you do not live, where you are a visitor, and put your phone on play and record this food and proceed to be disgusted? How dare you? You should be ashamed of yourself, and that's why you cut off your comments because you know you were wrong. I am so upset. You thought you were getting ready to get paid off the backs of the people of Jamaica by disrespecting them? No, ma'am. We ride for Jamaica all day long. And if I have to come on this app and post every last one of you ungrateful people in Jamaica visiting right now, I will and I will refuse to get any sleep until I broadcast all of you for this blatant disrespect. It is uncalled for and it is very nasty and disrespectful. And I'm sick of it. Young lady, you should be ashamed of yourself for posting this video, cutting the comments off, and leaving it posted, thinking that you were gonna get some likes and shares and love and people to co-sign your BS. But all you did was upset a lot of people, including people in Jamaica who are currently serving you. This is ultimate disrespect during a natural disaster that they did not ask for. Do you think the people of Jamaica wanted to deal with a category five hurricane? Absolutely not. Do you think that secrets all inclusive resort uh sent a message up to the Lord Himself and asked for a Category 5 hurricane? Absolutely not. And then you proceed to show a bag of goodies. They gave you milk, they gave you cereal, they gave you Oreos, they gave you orange juice, they gave you a lot of food, and then you proceed to say, How am I gonna heat the food up? I don't have a microwave in my room, I don't have a bow, ma'am. If you knew anything or took the time to read the box of cereal, you would know that the box itself is the damn bow. I'm sorry, y'all, but this is really pissing me off. This is a natural disaster on a level that a lot of people have not seen. And people are posting videos like this, not supporting the people in Jamaica, not finding out what you can do to help at these resorts. You are making it worse with your nasty attitudes and your entitlement, and it's disgusting. Drop your thoughts in the comments. This is getting out of control. How dare they keep setting up these damn phones recording this BS? I don't understand it. Let's talk about it. And until next time, I'll talk to you guys later. Save travels. Bye.
SPEAKER_01:Okay, okay, okay. Uh, another classic example of entitlement. I spent my money, and everything should go my way. And again, this is another resort, another person. That was at secrets. And you're ungrateful to the people. Again, they went through the most devastating storm in modern history. Nothing's hit that island again, like I reported before, over 90 years. 90 years. And they got a long recovery process to go through. But I did I've seen some good videos out there where people that are still stuck down there, they're helping them, helping them clean up, helping them sweep, um, shoveling, just trying to help them get back on. And I commend them people for that. I really, really do. But for all you selfish, ungrateful people, shame on you. Shame on you. Because again, like I said before, Jamaica had no place to run. If you lived here in the United States, you can go different places. Okay, we got a storm coming. Oh, let me go, let me go this way, let me go north, let me go west, let me go east. You got someplace to go. They didn't. And a lot of them lost everything. A lot of them lost everything. And you worried about, oh, I got this little bit of food. They're feeding you. They're doing the best they can and trying to clean up at the same time. Some of you people out here are really ungrateful and despicable. And we're all sick of it. We're sick of this entitlement. We got enough division, period, between a lot of people. Enough division. We don't need any more of that. This is the time that everybody's supposed to come together and help. Everyone's supposed to say, hey, look, this was bad, but let me try to lend you a hand the best way I can. This division has to stop. This entitlement has to stop. Well, hey, you spent your money, so I want my million-dollar service, right? Because I spent my money. Well, you also knew a hurricane was going to hit that place. You could have left. And then guess what? You ain't got to complain about nothing. Because you would have been home. You could have cooked yourself something to eat. They're still helping you. They're still feeding you. It may not be to the magnitude of when before that storm hit, but at least they were trying. Trying to help sustain you. This this has gotta stop. This is has to stop. It does. I don't know what it's gonna take. I don't know what it's gonna take. But the people that's down there that's helping the people in Jamaica that's stuck there, I commend you. I do. The people that's down there complaining, shame on you. But again, I said this before. And you just better hope it doesn't come back to you. I saw something else also, but I'll probably touch on another topic on that one. But Jamaica, my hearts and prayers go out to you. And I hope that y'all can get back up running, and I hope the people still continue to help them because they need it. I'm gonna sign off. I appreciate each and last every last one of you that come. Listen to me, tune in, leave a comment. I'm signing out.
