Forgiveness doesn't mean "it was fine." In this episode, Rachel walks you through real, grounded forgiveness—a somatic practice that releases the painful grip old hurt has on your body, mind, and energy. You'll learn why traditional forgiveness feels like denial, how unprocessed pain holds your nervous system hostage, and the exact steps to reclaim your space without erasing what happened. A no-fluff guide to soul healing that actually works.

Forgiveness gets marketed as a quick moral upgrade, but that version often feels like denial: “It was fine,” “No big deal,” “I’m over it.” We take a more honest, grounded path and name what forgiveness can actually be: releasing the hold that old pain has on your body, your mind, and your energy. When you stop feeding the emotional charge, you don’t erase the story you lived, you reclaim space inside yourself.

We talk about why the body keeps the score and how resentment, anger, grief, and fear can linger long after the event ends. That stored stress can affect your nervous system, your relationships, and your ability to move forward. From an energetic healing lens, unresolved experiences can leave an imprint, and when something similar happens again, you may feel an exaggerated trigger because the root cause never got processed or released.

We also go into the quiet struggle of self-forgiveness. Regret and shame can keep you punishing yourself for being human, especially for choices you made with the limited tools you had at the time. If “forgiveness” feels too big, we offer a smaller starting point: honesty. What are you still carrying? What story keeps replaying? What emotion shows up on repeat?

Welcome back to Spiritual Spotlight series quick tips. Today's topic is forgiveness. And I want to talk about it in a way that feels real, honest, and grounded. So forgiveness can be very misunderstood. People hear the word and they think it means pretending that something was okay, excusing harmful behavior, or rushing past real pain. But it's not what forgiveness truly is. Forgiveness is not about saying, you know, what happened was fine. It's great. It's okay. No big deal. You know, I love it. It's about releasing that hold that the pain has on your body, your mind, and your energy. When something has hurt us deeply, the body will remember. So they always say the body keeps the score. That is 100% fact. So we must replay that story over and over and over again.

Forgiveness Without Excusing Harm

We may carry resentment, anger, grief, or fear long after the event has ended. That energy can keep you emotionally stuck. It can affect our relationships, our peace, our nervous system, and even our ability to move forward. From an energetic, energetic perspective, forgiveness will create space. It does not mean that the wound will disappear instantly. It just means that you're no longer feeling the wound with constant emotional charge. You begin to reclaim some of your energy.

How Pain Lives In The Body

So sometimes the hardest person to forget is ourselves. We may even hold on to regret, shame, or even decisions that we made when we were younger, afraid, or doing what the best we could do in that current moment of now. Like, what did you know at that current moment? Maybe you thought that was the right decision, and you know, you grow you grew for it and learned that it wasn't the best decision, and that's okay. But it allows us from stop punishing yourself for being human. So if forgiveness feels too big right now, start smaller. Ask yourself, what am I still carrying? What story am I replaying? What emotion keeps showing up when I think about this? You do not have to force forgiveness overnight. You can begin with honesty. You know, and the good thing is that you want to go to the root cause of

The Hard Work Of Self-Forgiveness

it. So the root cause of where this experience happened. Because again, when something happens and we're having a hard time forgiving it, letting it go, moving forward, that does create an energetic imprint. And then what's going to happen is if something similar happens again, you're going to have this exaggerated trigger response because you haven't, you know, looked at the root cause of what happened and then allowed that energy to dissipate and allow that energy to go. You

Start Small With Honest Questions

know, so forgiveness again is not always immediate, it's often a process. But every time you choose to loosen your grip on the old pain, you create a little bit more for peace, clarity, and movement. And that can be energetic healing. So again, you want to, it's a for forgiveness, is more about releasing the energy of what impacted you in that moment and moving forward

Root Causes And Triggered Reactions

from it. It doesn't rem it doesn't necessarily mean that you're forgetting what happened, but you're releasing the energy of what happened, allowing yourself to be more, you know, at ease, more expanded, and definitely more grounded. So again, what you refuse to forgive can emotionally keep you stuck.
