Isamic Students Try To Halt blasphemy & apostasy talk

December 16, 2015

Maryam Namazie is a political activist, campaigner and blogger. She had been invited to talk at Goldsmiths University by the Atheist, Secularist and Humanist Society campus group, to speek on blasphemy and apostasy. However, members of the Goldsmiths University Students Union’s Islamic Society switched off a projector and heckled as Maryam tried to deliver her lecture on the evening of 3rd December. The Islamic students disrupted the speech because they claimed it “violated their safe space”. Maryam spoke to Jason McCrossan about that evening and the lecture she was trying to deliver.
