“The Holy Spirit: The Power of Revelation"
Praise God. Well, it's great to be in church on Memorial Day weekend. And we're going to pray God will just bless those folks who are at the lake too. Amen. I was saying backstage, I said, it's not my favorite weekend of the year for church. And somebody said, Oh, why? It's Pentecost weekend. I said, Oh, I love that part. I said, but Memorial Day, I said, you can shoot a cannon through there and not hit anybody. All I can tell you is they're going to miss out. Amen. I said, they're going to miss out. Amen. God bless you for your faithfulness. I um got a chance to talk to my dear friend Keith Kraft last week. Keith has developed an amazing business where he is coaching people to excellence in their marriages, in their businesses, and in their thinking. It's amazing what he's doing for God. And as a result of that, he's making millions of dollars. It's beautiful. You say, well, why is that beautiful? Because I know his story. I know this young man who was a basketball player at Evangel University when I was a football coach. And the coach just didn't like him. I'm just telling you. And the reason he didn't like him is because Keith wanted a revival on that team. And he was the only one who did. So he was ostracized, persecuted, marginalized, and it was honestly one of the darkest periods of that kid's life, the four years that he was in school. And it seemed like every time I turned around, I was bumping into that big dude. In fact, I would be at practice, football practice. He wasn't a football player. And suddenly I would feel somebody near me, the shadow over me. And I would look and he would be standing beside me on the sideline of my practice. And I would turn to him and he'd say, Can we talk later? Of course we can, Keith. Of course we can. And we talked constantly. He always was so hungry to know the things of God. I started a uh I started a preacher's school. And by the way, I'm about to do that with the young people here. Uh God laid that on my heart on the way to church. And so we we had about 20 kids off the football team that came and one basketball player, Keith. He was there at the preacher's school that I held in our home. De Anza would give us refreshments and then we would talk about preaching. And then I watched him as he graduated from college with high hopes that he would be in the ministry. And nobody wanted him. It was just like he didn't have the contacts or the kind of clout from family to maybe just get that first step. And he told me the story of how that his job was to come in at five o'clock in the evening and work to 12 o'clock at night on job sites where he swept up and cleaned up so that those who came to build who had the high-paying jobs could finish their work. And he said, I would always bring my radio and I would play Christian music. And he said, I would sing along with it, and I would cry out to God, oh God, surely you can use me too. Surely you have a place for me, Jesus. Something that I can do. He said, I would weep before the Lord and cry out. Interesting thing about that period is that he was making a paltry paycheck, you can imagine. But he sat down with his young wife and he said this to her, Sheila, this is the way we're going to live. 20% of every dollar I'm going to tithe. She said, Okay. He said, the next 10% are our offerings. Because we not only want to tithe, we want to give offerings. She said, All right. She understood that now that skinny paycheck was getting even skinnier. And then he said this. He said, We're going to invest this 10%, and then we're going to live off the rest. That was when he didn't have a good job. He never in all of these years has left that blueprint. He has stayed by it. So many years ago, I prophesied over him, and let me just tell you, it was one of those prophecies that wasn't worth much as far as its prophetic value because I had the inside track on what was going to happen to him. And I said, You're going to be very wealthy. I said, Mark my word. I said, God is going to make you very wealthy. You said, is God interested in that? Read your Bible. That's all I'm going to tell you. If you haven't found it yet, you haven't read much. Everybody who keeps God's laws. I said, everybody who keeps God's laws gets God's benefits. And that's what Keith Kraft's story is. I go with him to the mall, and I like valet parking. I'm sorry. I like it. I can't find my stinking car half the time in a shopping center. I like it. I like to give the guy whatever and give him a good tip and him have it when I get done. He never does it. I said, why don't you ever valet park? I mean, he drives up in a Porsche or something. Valet Park that he goes, no. It gives me more to give. I said, what are you talking about? He said, every little bit counts. And he said, what I do is that I keep track. And he said, this is one of the ways that it gives me more to give. Now he's giving hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars to God every single year. But yet it's a consciousness. Here's what I want to tell you. Money will never make you happy, nor the things it buys for you. Here's what I'm going to tell you. That house won't make you happy. That car won't make you happy. I've had all that stuff empty. That big bank account won't make you happy. I read a scripture yesterday, and when I'm studying the Bible, I study from the Torah, which I don't know if you know this, but you can buy those at the bookstore. And they're the original Hebrew. And so I'll study simultaneously if I'm reading something in the Old Testament. And there's this vague scripture in the Old Testament. And it I just didn't didn't get it. So I turned to my original language copy because it's got the Hebrew, which I can't read, but then it's got the interpret the translation directly. And this is what the scripture said. Listen to this, it said, accumulated wealth is like tender. You know, that's the stuff that catches fire. This is what the Bible says. Accumulated wealth is like tinder. And those who accumulate it are like the match. What is it saying? It's not saying it's wrong to accumulate wealth. That's not what it's saying. It's saying that if that is your objective, it's going to disappear on you. You say, why are you preaching to us like this? Because I absolutely adore you, that's why, and love you. And I want you to get rich. And I want you to prosper. And I want you to have a new car, but understand it's not going to make you happy. And I want you to have a new house, but understand that that's not what your value's about. And I want you to do the one thing that will always make you happy and you will never regret it. You know what that is? That's give to God. You say, but is giving to God giving to church? Is giving to God really giving to church? Isn't it interesting that Jesus took his disciples on a field trip to see the offering and that they were giving to the temple, which frankly at that time was just doubtful whether it was doing everything right? But yet he talked about the giving to the temple. And that if you gave to the temple, that God would see and he would reward you. You see, here's what you have to understand about the church. The church is just like Noah's Ark, it's got a lot of stink on board, but it's still the best thing afloat. Folks, here's what I want to tell you. I was your pastor for a lot of years. I loved all of it. You say, I remember you went through some tough times. Yeah, I did, and I loved it. Say, why? Because you're not a warrior if you don't like a good fight. I go into my office sometimes and I'm just glowing, you know, smiling and fidgeting, and Juno says, Oh, God help us. Say, the only time you come in like that is when something's wrong. Well, I want to just tell you this: God saw me through because I learned a long time ago, if I give to him and if I give him the tithe, that big angels show up to make sure that everything God has promised gets done. Amen. Hallelujah. I want you to be blessed. I want you to prosper. We're stuck over here in West Shreveport. People don't even know where we are. The nerve of them, they come to Songs of the Season and ask me, What is all this? I said, What do you mean, what is all this? We're gonna be here 70 years in two years. And you're asking us, this is a church. This is a church? I said, Yes, it's a church. What church? Shreeport community church. I said, where do you live? South Highlands. I said, well, get off this exit sometimes. Here's what I'm gonna tell you. I want all the people in West Shreveport to get some money. I want us to be blessed. I want us to be able to have a testimony. And when people ask us what it's what our secret is, I want you to have the Duran secret because it's working on four generations now. We live by our giving, and you are gonna live by your giving too. Amen. You are heirs of that. Hallelujah. I'm gonna ask the ushers to come right now. We uh are gonna give a big offering in three weeks. By the way, I'm gonna be preaching the next three weeks. And you know, here's the deal. Denny Rodney's allowing this, but he's made it very clear. If the crowd diminishes, that's pretty much over for me. You understand? He didn't, I'm lying, he didn't say anything like that. But now, now listen, I'm gonna be out. Y'all make me feel y'all come on out and hear me. You understand? Because we're gonna we're gonna have a great time the next three weeks. And what we're gonna talk about is a new level of devotion to the Lord. And in not this week, not next week, but the next week, we're gonna talk about this big offering, giving a big offering. What are we gonna give to? Classrooms for kids. That's what we're giving to. Classrooms for kids. We want to see children be able to come to Evangel Christian Academy. And we need new classrooms. Folks, Evangel is exploding. Can you give God praise for that? You say, My kids go to Bird High School. Well, that's good. That's good. My kids go to Huntington, that's good. But when people talk to you about your church, you can say, well, my church does a lot of things. My church gives to Evangel Christi Academy. We help kids. You know, that's your ministry. Your school's your school, but your ministry is your ministry. So we're gonna all have an opportunity to chip in and just believe that God's gonna perform a miracle in three weeks, actually, two weeks from today, and that we are gonna be able to get started at the beginning of the summer so they're ready for the fall on two or three new three new classrooms. And I think God can give us that, don't you? I think He can do it. Amen. We're gonna do some stuff together this summer that's gonna be really, really powerful. Amen. Father, I pray in Jesus' name that your blessings will be upon your people. Lord, I have a father and a grandfather's heart for all of these your children. I don't want to see them fall short when it's time to pay the bills. I don't want them not to be able to get the things they need and desire. I don't want them to not be able to pay their kids' way to school, to college. Lord, I want them to be blessed. And Lord, you have given us a pattern, a blueprint. Lord, I just pray that you'll bless them and let them believe it. God, put faith in their heart to believe it. Don't let them take it with a grain of salt. I pray in Jesus' name, let them believe this is your plan for your church. In Jesus' name, God bless you as you give. Amen. Praise God. Um I Pastor, where's Pastor? I got my hard copy too. I just want you to know that. I uh we decided on the same day to do that. That's great. Um as you receive the offering, then I'm gonna go ahead and um get into the message. I'm gonna um I'm gonna ask you to turn to Acts chapter two. Acts chapter two. It is Pentecost Sunday. Somebody say Pentecost. Pentecost. I was listening to some old gospel music. How many of you ever listened to old gospel music? Uh on well, I guess uh uh is it you just listen to country music and you don't ever listen to old gospel? I I love old gospel music, and old gospel music is the imperials. Man, what a group they were. And for those of you that have just come fresh out of the world and into the church, I'm not I'm not talking about um that group of the Imperials. I'm talking about the Imperial Quartet, and they were wonderful singers, and they had this song called Old Buddha. Old Buddha was a man, and I'm sure that he did well. But I fear for his disciples that they round up in hell. I mean, they just got right to the point. And um, and they the second verse talks about, gets a little closer to home, talks about well, you may be a Baptist and not be born again, a Methodist, a Presbyterian, or a Methodist, and still die in your sins. Well, that was a discouraging song, wasn't it? And then it says this you may be Pentecostal, shout and dance and jump a pew. Well, here's what I want to tell you. You might do that as a Pentecostal, but you might not. Because there are a lot of people in the world today that are Pentecostals. In fact, here's the truth the majority of the evangelical movement worldwide right now is Pentecostal. They claim to be baptized in the Holy Ghost and fire. Stand with me, please. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Bless the name of the Lord. Bless the name of the Lord. Glory to God. Father, I pray that during the next few minutes that you'll speak to us through your word. And I ask, oh God, that this will be a day when people discover your power, when they are filled with your spirit, when their lives are transformed forever. I thank you for loving us. And I thank you for loving us enough to literally be willing to allow the third person, the Godhead, the Holy Ghost, to live inside of us. We give you the glory in everybody's head. Amen. You may be saved. Acts chapter two. We understand that Jesus has been resurrected, that he has been on the earth for fifty days, communicating with eyewitnesses. In fact, there were literally, after that fifty days, thousands of people that could bear witness to the fact that Jesus Christ indeed was resurrected from the dead. And now the disciples have shown up to an upper room, a room that had been previously set aside for what we know as the Last Supper. And they have gathered waiting on the promise of Christ. He had said to them, Don't depart from this city of Jerusalem until you are filled with power from on high. And he said, You shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, and you will be my witnesses unto Jerusalem and Judea and Samaria, and unto the uttermost parts of the earth. And then in chapter two, he arrives, the Holy Spirit comes. When the day of Pentecost arrived, they were all together in one place. Suddenly there came from heaven a sound like a mighty rushing wind. It filled the entire house where they were sitting, and divided tongues as of fire appeared to them and rested on each one of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit. And began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance. Now there were dwelling in Jerusalem Jews, devout men from every nation under heaven. And at this sound, the multitude came together, and they were bewildered, because each one was hearing them speak in his own language, and they were amazed and astonished, saying, Are not all these who are speaking Galileans? And how is it that we hear each of us in his own native language? Parthians and Medes and Elamites and residents of Mesopotamia, Judea, and Cappadocia, Pontus and Asia, Phrygia and Vampilia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya belonging to Cyrene, and visitors from Rome, both Jews and proselytes, Cretans and Arabians, we hear them telling in our own tongues the mighty works of God. And all were amazed and perplexed, saying to one another, What does this mean? But others mocking said, They are filled with new wine. The whole world is looking for power. I have been so perplexed as I have watched some of the things that have been done by both of our major political parties. I just have thought, as some of these individuals have taken the mic in these hearings, that they weren't really interested in doing what was best for America. And of course, I understand what's up. Because what you're going to discover, ladies and gentlemen, that around the world it is the same thing. People are interested in power first. Whatever can keep me in power, I am willing to do. You're after the place that money can exalt you to. But let me just tell you, ladies and gentlemen, there is no power on the earth like the Holy Ghost and power. I'm seeing Chase Pittman back there. One of my favorite moments this year was when Chase was bringing his son to Evangel Christian Academy. And Chase sat across the table from me and he looked at me and he said, I know that Jesus is at all those other Christian schools, but the Holy Spirit is here. And I want to tell you, I have never in my life sat across from a parent and had them tell me that. I about jumped out of my chair. I said, absolutely, that's the point. You see, the fact is, there is no power like the power of the Holy Ghost and fire. The Bible says that several things happened when these people were filled with his power. One of the subtle things that we often just pass over because it's not a part of our culture is the fact that cloven tongues, like as a fire, set upon each of them. I want you to see that visual. Because as they were in that upper room and they looked around the upper room, they saw each individual had a flame of fire on their head. That's amazing. I mean, that happened. They just say it subtly, like it's just a part of the story. I'm telling you, if I see that, I'm talking about that the rest of my life. I don't know. I might not even survive that. Cloven, tongues like as a fire on it. You say, what was that all about? I'm going to tell you what it was about. In Moses' wilderness tabernacle, that was the first place that was built for a dwelling of God, there was a pillar of fire by night that set over the holy place. So unlike other nations who would set up their tents in the valley with the entrance to the tent always facing outward in case they were attacked by an enemy tribe or nation, they would be able to react quickly, get out of the tent, and be confrontational. Instead, they pitched their tents exactly opposite. They made the entrance toward the middle. Because in the middle was the tabernacle of God. You say, wow, that was brave. Not really. Because at night there was a celestial torch over that tabernacle that reached into the heavenlies. Did they think they were going to get attacked when they served a God who manifested himself in fire that reached into the heavenlies? Not at all. And never is there a recording of that army of Israel being attacked at night by anyone that performed a surprise attack. It just didn't happen. The fire said, This is where God dwells. But hallelujah. That had been over for thousands of years. There wasn't any fire anywhere in Israel. But now these Jews who knew their history well are in that upper room and they look around and they say, whoa, hallelujah. The fire is back. But now it's not over a wooden box that has been covered with gold. Now it's over every believer. In other words, they were saying, there's the Ark of the Covenant, and there's the Ark of the Covenant, and there's the Ark of the Covenant, and there's the Ark of the Covenant. The Holy Ghost was saying, I now will make my dwelling in the human form. And that's what happened to us when we got filled with the Holy Ghost, wasn't it? He gave us power. He said, Well, what kind of power? I'm glad you asked. I just conveniently had that in my notes. I'm going to talk about what kind of power this morning. You see, the first power is the power of revelation. When you get really filled with the Holy Spirit, you're going to know stuff that there's no way you could know without the power of the Holy Ghost. The power of revelation to know God's plan for the world. The disciples had no clue when Jesus is here. All of you that have read the scriptures understand that that's so. They would ask questions like, Well, where are you going? And why do you have to leave? And don't talk about all that bad stuff happening to you. One time Jesus had to turn to Peter and say, Get behind me, Satan. Because they knew nothing about the plan of God. But when you look at Acts chapter 2, what you see is Peter standing up and preaching the whole thing. From beginning then, he even goes back to David's prophecies. He had never understood that stuff in his life until this very moment. And at that moment where he was filled with the power of the Holy Spirit, he suddenly understood God's plan for the world. Let me just tell you, right now our world is in chaos and confusion. We are in a place right now that is maybe the most precarious and scariest place that we have been in at least my lifetime. The armies of the world are now focused on Israel. It's as if any moment Armagadd could break out. We are seeing the Church of Jesus Christ close in on the 1040 window, and very, very soon we will be able to declare with confidence that every nation and people group has already been reached. But yet there are a lot of Christians not filled with the Holy Ghost who are so worried that they can't sleep. They are disturbed. They're hoping that some politician is going to have the answer. They're hoping that some peacemaker will be able to step onto the scene. But ladies and gentlemen, those of us that are baptized on the Holy Ghost, we're not worried about the world at all because we understand that there is a king in glory who never fails. He's not up for re-election in four years. He is always gonna rule and reign, and his word will prevail. And let me say this to you: when you have the power of the Holy Ghost, you sleep well, you get up with hope, and you sing, not because you are happy and you therefore sing. It's you sing because that's what makes you happy. You are singing the glory of God, the conquest of God, the power of God, the peace of God, the rest of God, the peace of God will be all over your life. Every one of us need to understand the power of revelation. When we're filled with this power, we know. Say, is that arrogant? No, that's realistic. Every Holy Ghost believer has available to them the secret, and I'm talking about the classified stuff that the Holy Ghost will communicate about the signs and the times that we live in. Not only do we see them having a power of revelation for the plan of God for the world, but they suddenly knew what the will of God was for their own lives. People have asked me about the call of God. Did you struggle? Did you wrestle with the call of God? Yeah, before God called me. But when he called me, never, never. I was at a track meet one day. Many of you know the story. And this kid, Baptist boy, was in the high jump pit. That was my event, high jump. I don't know why they called it that for me. That is never what happened when they get given track. I never jumped very high. But I competed with him because he and I always competed for last place. We never even worried about those other guys that were gonna, you know, jump up there high. We just competed with each other. And so I walked over to him, say hello to him, and he never hardly said hi to me. He was the saddest, most depressed looking guy you'd ever seen in your life. And he's in the middle of the high jump pit singing. Just singing. And look happy, joyful, shiny. I said, Well, hey, Bill. He said, Hey. I said, What do you what are you so happy about? Well, he jumps out of that pit up onto the like the little sandbags on the side and stands there just like he's on a platform, and I've somehow gathered there to hear him preach. And he said, I went to a church last night and they ran, they sang and made the rafters ring. It was amazing. I said, Well, I go to a church like that. You do. I said, Yeah. He said, Do you speak in tongues? I thought, well, that's not wise. He's just talking about tongues and everything right in front of everybody. So I tried to just get him to pipe down. I whispered to him, hoping he'd take the hint. I said, Well, I've, you know, I've received the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I've I've I've yes, I've had that experience. He didn't take the hint. He said, Well, I speak in tongues all the time. Hallelujah. He said, Let me tell you, Jesus changed my life. I'll never forget his message. Jesus changed my life. If you offered me sin on a silver platter, I didn't know what that looked like. He said, I wouldn't do it. And then he gave a great big kick into the high jump pit and went, hallelujah. And he was just kind of celebrating, and and we were all at that time gathered around, just watching him do what he was doing. Man, I got hungry. Somebody say hungry. I just got hungry. I said, you know what? If anybody can have that, I want it. I said, I don't care. I I'm I I want that. Whatever that is, that's what I want. So after the high jump event, and by the way, he beat me that day. He jumped higher than he'd ever jumped. Well, no wonder. And I said, uh, where are y'all meeting? He said, we're meeting in the basement of Sunflower Baptist Church in Bozier. I said, can anybody come? He said, Oh yeah. Come, you I said, can I bring a friend? Because I didn't know what I was going to get into. He said, sure, bring a friend. So my friend and I showed up, and that whole room was filled with kids that I knew didn't know Jesus. But they did now. And the person that was bringing the revival was this little grandmother spinster kind of lady with spectacles down on the end of her nose and then the chain that held them on. She was sweet, but there wasn't nothing cool about her. And all she was doing is running from one of those kids to another, saying, Oh, darling, you want the Holy Spirit, and laying hands on them. And boom, they were receiving the baptism of the Holy Ghost. I knew the biggest dope pusher in my school last year, and he was there, and he's just dancing, dancing in the Holy Ghost, filled with the Spirit, face totally transformed, countenance shining, just I was seeing so much transformation, so much life, so much power in that room. I finally said, God, I've got to have whatever they've got. And the Lord spoke to me, and this is what he said. He said, You have it. You just don't know what you have. And I lifted my hands, and out of my innermost being flowed rivers of living water. You want to know why at 73 I'm still gimping around, shouting on this stage? Let me tell you why. Because of that night and the Holy Ghost and fire, the power of revelation. The next year I get called to preach. I'm standing here. Not because I was just so humble and perfect and honest and just wanted to be a pastor at some point. And then God gave me a chance. No, no, it happened. In one night, God filled me with his spirit, and it changed my entire future. The power, not just to know God's plan for the world, but to know God's will for your life. I don't know if any of you have ever had God speak to you, but let me just tell you, when he does, it will get addictive. There is nothing like being filled with the power of the Holy Ghost and having him talk to you and knowing the will and the purpose of God. Stand with me, please, all over this place. Praise God. Amen. Amen. Is Alex around or every one of us in this place, listen. You're one of two places, satisfied or hungry. That's the way it is in life, isn't it? You want something? No, I'm full. You want something? Yeah, I'm hungry. The fact is some of you have been full for years. Well, I already got saved. I received the baptism years ago. You're missing it. God's got so much more for you. You want it? Let me just ask you this. Do you want it? Do you want it? You know, when you go to these doctors now, they can just take your blood and tell you everything that's going on with you, you know? You know? See, you got a speeding ticket last week. It's crazy. Your level of hunger will tell you everything about where you are with God. Are you desperate for him? Do you want to be renewed in the Holy Ghost? Where the joy of the Lord burns in you, where the life of God just fills you. Where you can't wait to tell somebody, when I walked out of that room that night, this is what happened to me. I walked out of that room that night. I got in the passenger side of the car. My buddy drove me who went to this church. Here we are, 16-year-old kids driving down the street. It was raining, cats and dogs. I am frantically searching for somebody on that street on the sidewalks who's crazy enough to be out because I was gonna get him to stop so I could tell them about Jesus. The next day at Captain Treve High School, I took my Bible to school for the first time. I went to the lunchroom. I went from table to table. I shared the experience that Jesus had given me with the power of the Holy Ghost. My life was forever changed. And when I would start to find that power diminishing, I would get back on my knees, I'd get back in my prayer clothes, I'd say, Oh God, please, please, please. As David said, Don't take your Holy Spirit from me. And he'll never take him from you. But every once in a while, you're gonna need a fresh drink from the well. You know what some of you have been missing your whole life? The power of The Holy Ghost. You've been missing the power, and it's in that power's for you, every one of you. This ain't a religious thing. This is an individual, personal power thing. He wants to fill you just like he filled those disciples. If the cry of your heart is, I'm hungry and I need more, then I need you to come to the front and let me pray for you. Because this is the beginning of three weeks of our wanting more. If you're full, just stay where you are. Stay where you are if you're full. But if you're hungry, I want you to come down here. And I want you to stand. I don't care if you just stand out by your row. You can just stand out by your row. You don't even have to come to the front. But you're saying, I'm hungry. I'm hungry for God. I'm hungry for the power of the Holy Ghost in my life. Look at me and let me tell you something. I'm hungry. Okay? I'm hungry. This message was to me today. I'm hungry. You could get so busy doing the things of God and good stuff that God would smile on. That you miss being able to get in his presence and having him do something powerful in you. And let me just say something to you. I'm not talking about Bible study and regular prayer. And I'm not talking about you doing the stuff of Christianity. I'm talking about God visiting you. I read something last week. It's like everything I'm reading is just pounding me with this reality that I've got to have more of God. Moses. Listen. And then he would go care for the people. But his servant Joshua would not leave. That precious young man who just saw Moses leave and go do the work of God. And he just stayed in the tent. Said, I believe I need a little bit more. Was he talking to God? Probably not. God normally just talked to the leader in those days. But he just wanted to sit in the afterglow of the presence, lift your hands all over this place and get totally alone with the Lord. I want everyone here to get alone with God. I want you to get alone with God. Right now, I need, I need, I need you to do something. I'm going to follow the leaders of the Holy Spirit here. This may seem a little different. I want you to put your right hand on your chest, and I want you to say, in the name of Jesus, I take authority over the war in me. Again, in the name of Jesus, I take authority over the war in me. Say in the name of Jesus, I adjure you, Satan, whatever torment you are inflicting on my spirit, you no longer have the right. I rebuke you. I will not live under this anymore. In Jesus' name. Now lift your hands, and I want you to thank God that he heard that and that the warring angels of the Lord have come to your side. Hallelujah. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. In Jesus' name. Hallelujah. I want you to say this in the name of the Lord, I stand against tradition and any previous belief system that has robbed me of New Testament power. What I read in your book is different than what I have. I don't want it to be. So in the name of Jesus, I receive the power of your Holy Spirit. I want you to lift your hands right now. I want you to breathe in deeply. One, two, three, breathe in. Breathe in. Hallelujah. Say, I receive your spirit. I receive the Holy Spirit. Right now, just praise him because he's heard you. Now, Lord God, I thank you that these your children are in process. Some will receive everything they need for this moment today, but everyone will take the next step. And Lord, I thank you that this begins a season of seeking you. The next two weeks, we lay aside time to seek you. Lord God, we will keep this church open so that anyone during the day that wants to come into the quietness of this atmosphere and just wait around these altars or walk and pray will be able to do it. Lord God, we thank you that you are going to do things in our lives in the next two weeks as we wait on you that are going to change the total direction of this church, of our vision here, of even everything in our history. Lord, this is going to be a moment where you do something supernatural for us. And we thank you that we're a hungry group. Look at us, Jesus. We're all down here. We all want more of you. We desire you more than our necessary bread, as Job said. Oh God, help us. Fill us with your spirit. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. Hallelujah. I want you to get quiet before the Lord all over this place. I'm going to give you some instructions. Oh, hallelujah. This week I want you to read everything on the power of the Holy Spirit you can get your hands on. I want you to read the book of Acts. I want you to see what powerful people do when they get the Holy Ghost. People that previously have not been powerful and what they do after they receive the Spirit. And then I want you to tell the Lord this every day. I want you to tell him, I'm really hungry. I'm really hungry for you. I like country music. I like pop music. I like all kinds of music. The next two weeks, I want you to turn it off. And I want you to put on the music that moves you closest to Jesus. I want you to put it on. And as you get in that truck, you get in that car, I want you to let it move you toward toward God. And more than anything, this is what I want you to do. I want you to believe. Did you hear me? I said, I want you to believe. Because to him that believes, all things are possible. All things are possible to him that believes. I want you to pray for our pastoral staff. I want you to pray for all of us, that all of us get our fresh touch of the Holy Ghost. I want you to pray for our teachers. I want you to pray for everyone in authority in this whole culture. And we're going to believe that God's going to do something fantastic because everything will let you down. Believe me, everything will let you down except the power of the Holy Spirit. Hallelujah. I'm going to pray God's presence over you. And I want you guys, I want us right now just to sing something. Just, and I want to just the gentleness and sweetness of the Holy Spirit to just settle right here. We're going to believe that this is going to be the beginning. Somebody say beginning. This is going to be the beginning of God doing something supernatural. How many of you can believe that this will be the beginning of God doing something something supernatural in this town? That God could do it even in the town. Amen. Hallelujah. There is no limit to how God can use hungry people. We're hungry. We're hungry for Him. And He is glorious. He is glorious. Hallelujah. Thank you for connecting with us today. The first step to a new life in Christ is receiving the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. If you have never received Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and Savior, repeat this prayer after me. Jesus, I believe you died on a cross and rose again for me. I ask that you come into my heart and be the Lord of my life. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen. Whether you committed your life to Jesus for the first time today or are already on your journey of faith, we would love to stay connected with you.
