In December 2020, in episode 26 of the Mummalove podcast, I had a conversation with my nephew, Tyler Mitchell, and his mum Naomi, about their journey as a family of Tyler coming out as a transgender man. I’m so delighted that it is the most downloaded episode that we’ve ever shared.
In this episode, I’m talking to the now 18 year old Tyler about what has changed for him and in the world over the past two years, all the exciting things he’s looking forward to after leaving school, and how it feels to show up in the world as your true, authentic self.
Everyone has different perspectives to offer the world, and Tyler has shared his perspective as a young Australian, recent high school graduate, a transgender man and a lover of literature. His aim is to leave this world a better place than he found it through advocacy, education and respect.
