The Dork and Dude talk fallout from Free Agency. Which teams improved or declined. Which players are in a better place for fantasy.

SPEAKER_03

Podcasting live on YouTube. This is fantasy football with the dork and the dude. I'm the dude. I'm the dork, and we're talking free agency. We're talking its effect on teams. What it what we learned from it about teams and how it might affect their win totals. And also fantasy, which players, you know, have the are we're looking at early.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, that ended up in a good spot. Yes. Uh I got some good news today as an aside, uh, Dork. Uh here it uh I got a trip planned uh three nights in uh Vegas next month uh uh to play my craps, you know? Yeah. And uh I booked this months ago. Well, uh, and it's at the downtown Grand, uh downtown Vegas. And uh couple days ago, uh I got a comp offer, so I uh uh they're giving me two nights free, reduced rate for the third night, three nights uh at the grand for$62 out the door.

SPEAKER_03

Damn.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, thank you, dude. Thank you, downtown grand.

SPEAKER_03

Kind of like Tele Savalis with the old players card. Remember those commercials?

SPEAKER_02

Well, the player's card is what got me the uh uh comps.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, nice, nice.

SPEAKER_02

Uh because you know, Vegas is struggling and shit. So they are little places like the Grand, they're digging deep to get people to come back.

SPEAKER_03

Yep, yep. Well, take advantage. I did. Okay. Um so what we're gonna do, we're gonna go down. I got I printed out the NFL.com, free agent track. And uh we're just gonna go team by team, starting with uh it'll be by division and alphabetically within division, AFC first, NFC second. So we start with the AFC East, the Buffalo Bills, uh anything you see there that grabs you.

SPEAKER_02

Well, of course, the uh pickup of DJ Moore. Uh they needed uh a number one guy, and I think with Josh Allen, he could probably be that for at least a couple years, and and their windows uh might be closing.

SPEAKER_03

They had the Josh Allen window is still open, but it's not gonna be forever. They needed a receiver. DJ Moore fit the bill. Yes, they overpaid. I'm not saying they didn't, but it makes them a better team.

SPEAKER_02

And um Well, you know, I've heard everybody say that the uh uh they overpaid for DJ Moore. Are you gonna be able to get a DJ Moore in the second fucking round? No.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, so that's not an overpayment. That's not an overpayment. And they um, you know, if if they again, it's one of those things they're they're taking a risk. If it gets them into the Super Bowl and winning it, it's worth whatever they paid. Big time. And this this it's a smart move, it's a good fit on the team.

SPEAKER_02

I could see best case scenario for fantasy. Uh DJ Moore, 1,100 yards and eight touchdowns.

SPEAKER_03

He's still just 29. He should be back to his old self. So fantasy-wise, I'm sure he helps.

SPEAKER_02

And he's one of those guys he might run one in on and end around. Exactly.

SPEAKER_03

Um, I also like the Bradley Chubb pickup, though there's no indication he's gonna stay healthy. Got it.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, he's had some health issues, but if he can uh you know play 12, 13 games, that'll that'll help him. And be healthy for the playoffs, right? Yep, they're because they're losing losing uh Joey Bosa, who didn't provide much help.

SPEAKER_03

No, he didn't. And Chubbs, you know, have the same thing. And uh once great pass rusher, aging, yeah, still can get it done, but how much can he get on the field?

SPEAKER_02

You only want him for a year or two.

SPEAKER_03

So it was all in all a good, I think, a good uh free agency for Buffalo. They bolstered their roster for another Super Bowl run. I agree. Okay, Miami. All about Malik Willis, a quarterback. They gave decent money too. Yeah. Um, I again I gotta say I like it. There's no great quarterbacks in this draft other than Mendoza. So um why not roll the dice on a guy like this? They're not paying a whole lot quarterback-wise. He's still young.

SPEAKER_02

Uh they're rebuilding.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I yeah, I like the move.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I I can't argue with that.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know if it does anything to move the fantasy needle for Jade for Waddle or anything.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um, you know, I think he he's got some good weapons there with Waddle and H H Hann. Yeah. Um, but uh they're still the team is still weak. They they got cap issues.

SPEAKER_02

And I don't think I'm gonna be drafting any Miami players.

SPEAKER_03

I don't think I am either. Maybe Willis is my backup QB, but even even that seems like a stretch.

SPEAKER_02

Deeper leagues are super flat.

SPEAKER_03

He's not gonna get drafted. Okay, moving on. New England Patriots. We we both hate the Patriots. Big time. But I gotta say, I really like what they did. With Dobbs. Dobbs, I think, is a real good pickup and a good fit. Uh the offensive line needed work and they got a good a good guard. Yep. And uh Draymond Jones is a good pass rusher. Kevin Byard is a solid safety. He's aging, but it's only a one-year deal.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm surprised Byard was out there, actually. But yeah, kind of a down year.

SPEAKER_03

There were rumors the Bears were gonna bring him back. Uh-huh. But um, I guess they went with Kobe Bryant, and I we'll get to that with the Bears. But uh I do like what New England did.

SPEAKER_02

Okay.

SPEAKER_03

Um, you know, they got the quarterback already, and it looks like they helped their team.

SPEAKER_02

And that they appear to uh draft well, so yeah. Uh they're gonna add to that young team that's already pretty awesome. Pretty good. Yep.

SPEAKER_03

Um, the New York Jets.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't even put them on my list because they're the one of the worst franchises in the fucking league.

SPEAKER_03

Seriously, I like that. I don't care what they do. I look at these guys they brought in, and you know, there's some okay guys on defense. Right. But I mean, what are they doing here? Yeah, Geno Smith, really? Geno Smith. I'd rather I'd rather just run Justin Fields out there again and see what he could do, or uh find another young guy. Yeah, uh there's plenty of better options than they're in a total rebuild.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. So what what is he gonna be quarterback-wise? The bridge to nowhere?

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, that's about it. Um, yeah, I'm uh all Jets are off my list. If they end up trading Brees Hall, I might like him on another team, but sounds like he's not probably gonna get traded. No, no, they franchised him, and um, yeah, he'll be around.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, no, the Jays, the Jets uh aren't even worth talking about much door. Let's move on.

SPEAKER_03

Let's move on. FC North, Baltimore Ravens. They traded for Max Crosby. He failed the physical, they sent him back to the Raiders, they signed Trey Hendrickson. Yep. Uh that's that's gotta be considered a good move. I mean, yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And they also got they also picked up that uh safety from New England, Hawkins. Hawkins, yes. And they also picked up uh a wounds day from the Ravens.

SPEAKER_03

Chi Dobe re-signed him, yes. And so those those are all good moves for Baltimore. Yeah, I mean the defense should be solid again. One one pass rusher like Hendrickson, and I believe didn't two years ago didn't he lead the league in sacks?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and he uh he he's had seven uh up until last year, he had 17 sacks per season the first two those two years previous. Yeah. Uh but he got hurt last year, so uh no, uh I think Baltimore did a job.

SPEAKER_03

It's a notch, he's a notch below Crosby, I think, but they kept the draft pick. So yeah.

SPEAKER_02

They're giving up two number ones.

SPEAKER_03

Uh yeah. Cincinnati Bengals, uh, they brought in a couple of good defenders in Boy Foy Maefe and uh Jonathan Allen. Yep. Um I think it's it's pronounced Maffey. Mafie? Okay, you're probably right. You know me in pronunciations. Yeah, we're gonna get to that here in a little while. I gotta stop, uh, I gotta stop muting the announcers, but they're so damn annoying. I hear you. But um again, okay, they they addressed a weakness, but they also lost Henderson. I still, if Burrow comes back, I do like the Bengals so as uh as a team. Oh, he'll be back. Well, he'll he will be back, stays healthy, you know. Yeah, plays a year. Okay, anything else on the Bengals? Nope. Cleveland.

SPEAKER_02

Um I didn't put them down either because they're irrelevant.

SPEAKER_03

Again, they they they signed some offensive linemen. Um that's kind of what you want to do. I don't know if it's enough to get that anemic offense off the ground. They're a mess. They're they're kind of a mess, and they probably need another year in the in the tank before they really turn it around.

SPEAKER_02

And again, I'm gonna be fading Cleveland all year uh betting.

SPEAKER_03

And and again, the um as good as the defense is, you know, that's guys get old, yeah, uh things fall apart, guys leave. Yeah. So I don't know what the fuck they're doing. You're you got a window here with a great defense. You should. I would think you'd you'd try and make a splash somewhere on offense.

SPEAKER_02

No, it looks like they're gonna probably end up trotting out Deshaun Watson's ass. Yeah. That's not good.

unknown

No.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, let's move on to uh important shit.

SPEAKER_03

Uh well, Pittsburgh's not that important. They brought in Rico Doddle, so that's gonna hurt both him and Jalen Warren. But they brought in Michael Pittman. That's kind of interesting, fantasy-wise.

SPEAKER_02

Well, they needed a number two guy, a medcal.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, and but I don't know who's gonna throw him the ball yet. Well, Rogers is coming back. Rogers is coming back. He's coming back. Okay. And I don't know how good that is, but again, it's I don't either, but you know, the rest are he actually had like a you know top 15 year last year.

SPEAKER_02

QBR. Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Oh, I believe it. I believe it. He's I mean, he's an all-time great. He doesn't throw a lot of picks. Anyways, let's move on to the AFC South. You got it. Uh, Houston Texans, they basically re-signed their defensive guys, bolstered the offensive line a little, and brought in David Montgomery. Yeah. What do you think of Montgomery's fantasy value in Houston?

SPEAKER_02

Depends on how that upgraded line works out.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Uh uh Marks and uh uh uh Chubb. And Chubb couldn't do Jack. No uh uh last year. So I don't know. I would say he's uh uh a high risk, high reward uh running back four.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And you hope that he ends up being a running back two.

SPEAKER_03

I kind of how I think he'll get goal line work. I like how he fits in the offense because he does a lot of things well. He's he's a good between the tackle runner, he's a good receiver, good blocker. I think he's gonna help the whole offense function better.

SPEAKER_02

And he doesn't miss a lot of time.

SPEAKER_03

No, no, he doesn't.

SPEAKER_02

And so uh I like the move. Uh uh Houston's in a window uh themselves. They are. And so uh uh guy like Mike Yumri, he's only got two or three years left. Yeah, and they're gonna use him up.

SPEAKER_03

Yep.

SPEAKER_02

So uh uh let's go Dorcus next.

SPEAKER_03

Uh the Indianapolis Colts, they re-signed Daniel Jones, kind of a no-brainer. Everything they traded Pittman, but I think they're okay on receivers with Downs and Pierce.

SPEAKER_02

They brought Pierce back. Yeah. But it looked like he might go to the highest bidder.

SPEAKER_03

The Colts may have been the highest bidder. They gave him 114 mil over four years. I hear yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Um, but uh And the Colts, I'm not quite sure about that organization.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, they they had the fast start last year with Jones, but Jones has a habit of popping up looking great, especially in contract years, and then fading, and he gets injured a lot. I don't have a lot of fate. I don't have a lot of no, I don't either. So and that that division is getting better. Uh off the table with the other door. But I'm talking and I can't drink while I'm talking. Okay. You know, I'm trying to do two things at once. Don't worry, I'm not gonna Fred Mertz it.

SPEAKER_02

I'm just trying to protect the equipment, man. You know what I'm saying?

SPEAKER_03

No, if you said it here and I reached for something, I would certainly knock it over.

SPEAKER_02

Okay, so uh uh what's next door? How about Jacksonville? Uh Jacksonville. Uh they haven't done much.

SPEAKER_03

They haven't. They let ETN go, and I think a guy I'm gonna be looking at is they got Gainwell today. They did they get Gainwell or someone else? They got DJ Dallas, I know.

SPEAKER_02

No, Gainwell, uh, I'm pretty sure they got.

SPEAKER_03

Okay.

SPEAKER_02

I'll take the and that's he's a nice uh third down back.

SPEAKER_03

He's a good third down back. Um I like Tootin, though, too, uh, as a breakout guy this year. Michelle Tootin.

SPEAKER_02

I agree. Their offensive line's good, they're gonna score a lot of points.

SPEAKER_03

We talked about this after their playoff loss to Buffalo. If they just give that dude the ball more often in the second half, they probably win the damn game. Tell me about it.

SPEAKER_02

And um he was he was ripping off uh 15-yard runs. You know who they brought in? Uh Chris Rodriguez. Uh yeah, that happened too, and I think that's a nice depth move. Yeah, it is.

SPEAKER_03

So I like what they did. Okay, Tennessee Titans. Uh the big new move fantasy-wise was Wandale Robinson. Yep. Uh he could be they overpaid, but they overpaid, but again, it's really all about making Cam Ward comfortable and giving him the weapons. Yep. And they added a bunch of pieces on defense. They did. And they added some um offensive line depth, not a lot of good ones. I think with Robert Salah that team's trending up. They should have a good defense. He can do that, but I I just worry about coaches in their second run. I don't.

SPEAKER_02

We've seen uh yeah, were you worried when Don Chula went to Miami? No.

SPEAKER_03

I don't know why he left, but I don't forget the circumstances of him leaving Baltimore. I know he wasn't fired because he was terrible. Right.

SPEAKER_02

What what about uh Belichick when he left Cleveland? Uh his second uh go-round turned out to be the Hall of Fame, baby.

SPEAKER_03

That was one, and Sassala may be the same if he if he sends uh videographers up into the stands to film the other team. I don't I don't go for that, Dorckster. Okay. Anyways, we're moving to the AFC West. Yeah, baby. Denver Broncos. Uh they didn't do much. Brought back J.K. Dobbins.

SPEAKER_02

That's about it. In fact, uh uh uh I was reading that uh they're they're out of Cap Hell from the Russell Wilson shit and they're still not spending fucking money. Yeah I don't know what they're doing. I uh I give them a D. Yeah. They've got a few holes that they could fill with free agents in there spending any fucking money.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, well, how about the Chiefs? Kenneth Walker gave them big bucks. I think that's a huge move. I think I think it could be. I think that they'll know how to use them. Yeah. And uh they'll get a lot out of them.

SPEAKER_02

And I I think um Of course, uh, it doesn't matter who the back is, Andy Reid doesn't run the ball uh to help you in fantasy.

SPEAKER_03

Well, especially early before Mahomes comes back, they may be using Walker a lot. So we we shall see. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

I'm gonna uh I'm Well, and they brought back Kelsey and uh uh Thornton. Yeah. And so those were good re-signings. I don't know. Uh Kelsey's probably got a year left. He didn't look washed last year.

SPEAKER_03

And you know, if if Rasheed Rice keeps uh clowning out there, who knows if who knows if Thornton becomes the number one guy or not? I hear you. He's worth a dart row. That's right. Anyways, let's go to Vegas and the Raiders. Gave big bucks. Uh uh they busted out the center market and paid Tyler Lindenbaum. They overpaid. They did overpay, but again, they gotta they gotta have good guys in front of Mendoza.

SPEAKER_02

And they've got a guy in his prime.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Might be the one he's one of the best centers in football, and they got him.

SPEAKER_02

So I like them picking up Jalen Naylor. I do too.

SPEAKER_03

That's a sneaky good move. I thought so.

SPEAKER_02

He can be a number two guy in Minnesota, he was number three or whatever.

SPEAKER_03

And they signed they they got a lot of uh edge edge rushers and linebackers. Two edge rushers, two linebackers. They've been very active. They've been very active, they've used their space. Um, and with Crosby joining those guys, that could be uh formidable defense.

SPEAKER_01

Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

Um, it's just they'll have a rookie on offense and they're rebuilding. They're rebuilding, yeah. Okay, uh, how about them Chargers? They haven't done jack. They brought in Keaton Mitchell, but he's more of a gadget guy. He is, and a return dude. Yeah, they bolstered uh the offensive line depth with it, which I like. They needed to. Yeah. So uh we'll see. Stay healthy, Chargers. That's about all I got. I'll give him a C. You're a tough grader, dude. Are you grading on a curve?

SPEAKER_00

Huh? This is business, and this man has taken it very, very personal. It's not personal, Sonny. It's strictly business.

SPEAKER_02

It's strictly business, Dorc. Okay. Where are we going now? Dallas Cowboys. We're in the NFC. They haven't done Jack. Uh they got R Rashawn Gary, which I guess helps him uh getting an edge guy.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. Um signed Javante Williams, who That's a good move. Oh, I hope he stays healthy, but um he he was good for me last year, that's for sure. Yeah, he was.

SPEAKER_02

And um that offense is gonna score 28 29 points a game. Yeah, you got that right. And so you want to load up on those fantasy dudes. Oh, yeah. How about the Giants? What about him? You tell me. Uh the Brendan Isaiah Likely, my guy. He is your guy. You've liked that dude forever. Maybe now he'll get the chance to be number one.

SPEAKER_03

They paid him 40 mil to do it, so that seems crazy.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if if likely isn't a top five fantasy tight end, uh then uh the Giants are a bunch of dumbasses. He might be a bunch of dumbasses. They might be. They're not a very smart organization, but uh, I trust Harbaugh.

SPEAKER_03

I will say this about the Giants. They are the most functional organization um in New York.

SPEAKER_02

True. Okay. And like I say, uh Harbaugh's gonna turn that team around.

SPEAKER_03

We'll see. We'll see. I'm I'm I'm betting on it. I'll talk about it later. Eagles didn't do much. Um, they're standing past Frank Calcaterra, they re-signed him. He might be their number one tight end. Who knows? Um, we'll move on to the commanders. They did some stuff. Yeah, they did. Dude, I have a lot of tight ends who are my guys. You like Okonquo. They signed Chig Okonquo. He's your guy. Well, in a functional offense, who knows what he might do.

SPEAKER_02

I see him on your roster next year.

SPEAKER_03

Uh Rashad White, running back. He'll be part of a. That just tells me they're gonna keep going with the uh the committee. And each week, week from week, you won't know who to start.

SPEAKER_02

I don't know how many uh commanders players I'm gonna be investing in, Doric.

SPEAKER_03

I I don't know. I don't me either. Jalen Daniels or Jaden Daniels, um, yeah. But um the others, I don't know.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah. And even Daniels in an eight-team league like ours, he's gonna be a backup. Yep, yep. With upside. Where are we going now? Bears. Your Chicago Bears.

SPEAKER_03

Um, again, they um they traded in uh DJ Moore and Tremaine Edmonds for lower price options. Yep. Uh but I think they basically stayed the same.

SPEAKER_02

Uh I like the Kobe Bryant pickup. I did like Kobe Bryant. And the Devin Bush. I like Devin Bush. And uh uh Khalik Raymond.

SPEAKER_03

He's a good uh return guy. He's gonna be your guy. He's gonna be a good return guy. He might be a third receiver, too. So yeah. Uh that that was a good uh signing, I think. Sneaky good signing. Yeah, I agree.

SPEAKER_02

But Detroit's gonna miss that dude.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Um now let's go to let now let's go to Detroit. Speak of the devil. They brought in uh Isaiah Pacheco to replace David Montgomery.

SPEAKER_02

I think that's a uh a lateral move. I think so. Pacheco's not any better in Monty.

SPEAKER_03

It's just Montgomery Monty has been healthier. Pacheco's younger, I believe. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

Couple years.

SPEAKER_03

Um I think uh he just might pick up Montgomery's stats, which I'm kind of wondering where the fuck Detroit's going.

SPEAKER_02

I I do too. I do too. Um they've got they're they're gonna have some stiff competition in their division, and they're gonna have to uh I I don't know if they're maybe they'd never recover from the Ben Johnson leading.

SPEAKER_03

Maybe. We shall see. Um Green Bay Packers didn't do much.

SPEAKER_02

Nope. But they've got a good young team. They don't have to go out there and reach on people. Minnesota Vikings.

SPEAKER_03

Um again, they didn't do much. Well, they're in Capell. They're in Cap Hell. And um they're talking about bringing Kyler Murray in on the show.

SPEAKER_02

I think that would be a good move.

SPEAKER_03

I do too. I do too. I think him and they're obviously not.

SPEAKER_02

I think they'll probably sign his ass tomorrow. He's flying there tonight. Oh, he is? Okay. They're gonna take his ass out of the room.

SPEAKER_03

I do like that move. Uh quarterbacks have rehabbed under McCarthy. Murray's better than McCarthy. McCarthy, uh O'Connell. Right. And uh McCarthy, he showed improvement, but he hasn't developed yet. So Murray. I mean, I mean Murray will be the starter. I would, you know, I know this is gonna sound crazy now, okay? But it would have sound crazy if I said it about Sam Darnold before last year, and he was in the mix. Check out Kyler Murray's MVP odds, okay? Probably a hundred to one. Probably a hundred to one. I don't think it's crazy that he, you know, could have a great year up in Minnesota.

SPEAKER_02

He's an above average QB with the right coach, with the right on a good team. Yeah. He's been on a dysfunctional fucking organization. That's why that's why he's been dysfunctional. Yeah. So if he gets his head screwed on right, does his homework and shit, uh, who knows? I'm I'm gonna look that up after uh uh I'll throw two bucks on that dork. Yeah, heck yeah. Okay, so I threw a buck on uh Justin Fields MVP last year, 300 to 1. Again, why not? Yeah, Murray might be 300 to 1.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, NFC South. Um speaking of quarterbacks looking for a fresh start, right? Tua is going to Atlanta. I like the move for Atlanta. You know, I I guess Tua He's better than Penix. He probably is. And Tua his thing was he didn't play well in cold weather, right? Yeah. Now he's in a controlled environment. Now he's in a dome. His road games in the division are Tampa Bay, New Orleans, and Carolina. Yep. Generally good weather. Hell yeah. I mean, he doesn't have to go up to New England, Buffalo, and New York every year to play three games in the possible cold. I agree. So I think this, you know, if you gotta find a place for a guy like that, I can't think of a better one than Atlanta. I agree. So um, I think it's a good move. Hell, look at Tua's MVP odds. Yeah. Yeah, that too. That said, this was a team that Buck here, Buck there. This was a team that what gave up uh a couple of draft picks for James Pierce. Yeah. You know, the more you read about that case, that I don't think he's coming back anytime soon.

SPEAKER_02

Got some serious red flags.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. But um, we'll see. It's still a division that's sorting itself out.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, and Atlanta's uh they're in flocks. They've got some good players and stuff. They have to put it all together.

SPEAKER_03

They gotta put it all together. We'll see if uh Stefansky. Yeah, he's a good coach.

SPEAKER_02

Can do it. Yeah, no, I like the move for Atlanta.

SPEAKER_03

Let me drink my beer before I move on. I gotta take a breath here. There you go, man.

SPEAKER_02

I needed that. Thanks. I thought you'd like that door. Thing is how I took you out of the league championship this year and shit. Thanks, Kirby. I'm a believer now. You better be, because you don't want him coming after you ass next year. Okay, what happened to the cat? We've had enough, man. Okay. To move on to Carolina.

SPEAKER_03

He has taken over our board. Oh, there we go, Dork. Okay, um, Carolina. Yep.

unknown

Yep.

SPEAKER_03

I'm really liking that they went all in on defense. Jalen Phillips and Devin Lloyd. Love it. They played paid big bucks for them, but these guys should help. A defense that was improving already last year. Um, their offense has some weapons. They got they got a good young quarterback who is showing signs. We'll see. I don't know if I'm a believer yet, but I hear you. Um, yeah, I kind of I kind of like what they did. I do too. The NFC South is really up for grabs. It's big time. So yeah, they uh they made their play.

SPEAKER_02

I'm looking at betting uh Carolina, either uh well, we'll get to that uh on my bad score.

SPEAKER_03

Okay. Uh the Saints. Travis E. E. E. T.N. ETN. Great move. I like it. He's a he does the he he does the all-purpose back thing.

SPEAKER_02

They'll fit into Kellen Moore's offense.

SPEAKER_03

I think Kellen Moore's gonna uh do good things with him. I agree. So that's a guy to target. Uh the rest of it, the team still needs some work, but you know, the right coach can change everything. So and I was impressed with how they played, how they battled all year. So I'm liking what I see there. Me too. Uh Tampa Bay is where Gainwell went, actually. Oh, okay.

SPEAKER_02

Um, and by the way, you're watching fantasy football, the Dorf and the Dude. If you have a gambling problem, call 1-800 Gambler. Do it.

SPEAKER_03

Another one of my tight end guys, Kate Otten, re-signed with Tampa Bay. Another one of your boys. How many tight ends you got that you're that you you're in love with? All of them, you know. A dude, a dude has a a good day, and I'm like, man, that guy's gonna come around.

SPEAKER_02

Well, did you hear that your boy Nujoku's a free agent?

SPEAKER_03

Oh, is he? Yeah, today. Oh, they cut him? Uh Cleveland let him go. Okay. They should. The Harold Fannin's a better player, he's younger, he's cheaper.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but you'll be targeting Nujoku.

SPEAKER_03

Some uh it depends on the situation. We'll see. Um anyways, Pampa Bay, not much. Kenneth Gainwell, he'll be part, he'll be there with Gainwell.

SPEAKER_02

I just screwed it up earlier at Dork.

SPEAKER_03

He'll he'll be uh he'll be a good good team with Bucky, but I think that makes Bucky more of a runner.

SPEAKER_02

And more of a goal line guy.

SPEAKER_03

More of a goal line guy, yes.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm surprised uh uh uh Gainwell's resurrected his career. He's in Philadelphia, he was mediocre, goes to Pittsburgh, has a great year. Yeah, and now he gets uh uh gets some money.

SPEAKER_03

Beware of those guys in the coming off a contract here, though. Okay, Arizona Cardinals. Your boy Al Gyer. They El Geyer. I I looked at the depth chart, he's number one. Yeah, the number one he's gonna be. You're gonna be targeting him. I think so. I mean, he's a decent back. I hear you. And um but what about James Connor? They kept him around. Connor's coming back, they kept him around. Cedric Benson is still there.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, but I like I like the Algyre move. I do too. And Connor's aging at what is he, 30 now, 29? Yeah.

SPEAKER_03

They brought in a couple of they brought in brought in some offensive linemen. Uh Isaac Simalu is the only one of any note, but I know Matt Pryor had some good years, and if he can get it back, he'll help.

SPEAKER_02

I think for wide receiver depth, them signing uh Bourne was a good move.

SPEAKER_03

Bourne is always a solid, he's just a solid guy to have around. Yeah, he is. He'll help uh bang bang. Yeah, he will. But again, they're in they're in a very tough division, and uh first year coach, uh a uh Brissette Minchu quarterback tandem. I don't like that. Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

That's like a uh although brissett's serviceable.

SPEAKER_03

That's like one of those progressive uh insurance backup quarterback commercials waiting to happen.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, Rico's gonna be on those before you know it. Yes. Uncle Rico. Uncle Rico, yes. You're gonna be on them commercials.

SPEAKER_03

I like the one with uh Mitch Trubisky where he has to come in and order it.

SPEAKER_02

I love that one, yeah. And he just he just reels it off. I know. And then didn't he stay hanging out with the kids? Sure. Yeah, uh uh he's their fucking hero now. That was a good commercial.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, let's go move on to the Rams. Um My Rams. They bolstered the defensive backfield. They re-signed Curl and they brought in Watson and McDuffie. So that's those are awesome moves. That's that was kind of a weakness for him last year. They took Kansas City's top two cornerbacks. And they are they're gonna be good. Yeah, they are. I like uh I like how that defense is shaping up. And talk about a window. I don't know if Matt Matthew Stafford even has a year with his tendency to get injured, but if he comes back and does what he did, I don't see any team beating them. Me either.

SPEAKER_02

So um they've been they've attacked their weak spot, which is what good teams do.

SPEAKER_03

Okay, and speaking of signings, I know we both love. Let's move on to San Francisco, and I'll let you talk about Mike Evans.

SPEAKER_02

Uh well, uh Mike Evans had a quote today. Did you hear that? I think so, but go ahead. Yeah, yeah. He says uh the 49ers are one piece away from winning the Super Bowl, and I'm that piece. That's the way to go in there.

SPEAKER_03

I like it. Go in with swagger, go in.

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, if they get two years out of Evans and get and win a Super Bowl, it's totally worth it.

SPEAKER_03

Well, and that cat is solid. Yeah, he is a thousand yards a year. Um he would you throw it to him, he'll catch it. He got hurt last year. He might not, he did get hurt, but before that he was always good, always money. Yeah, he is. And that's what they've needed is just a guy who's gonna be out there every day getting the job done. I like the move. I I really like the move, yeah. For both, for both sides. Yeah. Otherwise, not much, and I guess there's, you know, they're struggling with Kemp, trying to figure out how to keep Trent Williams around, right?

SPEAKER_02

Yeah, they're working through that. It sounds like he might end up in being a free agent. Mm-hmm. But he's aging as well, and he's been injury prone the last couple years.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. And finally, the defending champs, they did nothing.

SPEAKER_02

So they re-signed Shahid. That's important.

SPEAKER_03

Shahid is a good one, yeah. Especially for fantasy. They used him well.

SPEAKER_02

And if you get flash plays, if you get big points for returns like our league, yeah. Uh uh, that guy's gonna be gold. Yep. Okay, well, uh, let me give you my winners and losers dorkster. Let's hear it. Oh. What am I doing? You gotta keep your door cat on. I know. Uh, okay, uh, winners, I got uh Pittsburgh Steelers picking up Pittman and Dowdle and also uh cornerback Jamal Dean.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, okay. I I I I I got that. I still, you know, wonder which way that team's going.

SPEAKER_02

They're better than they were. Uh I got Tennessee uh picking up Wandell Robinson. They picked up two cornerbacks, uh, a tight end and a center, and Trubisky, I think, is a good serviceable backup.

SPEAKER_03

Uh they needed to bolster the offensive line. They did it. I expect Cam Wort to make a leap in year two, and they they could be a fun little team to watch.

SPEAKER_02

Got a high dra a fairly decent draft, high draft there. Yep, yep, yep. What, number four, I think. Way up there, yeah. Uh uh they're a team on the rise. Uh the Rams, we talked about it. McDuffie and Watson. Uh the Bills, we talked about them, DJ and Chubb. The losers, Jacksonville, they lost three key players, including their starting running back, and they signed no one. No one. Uh Denver, uh basically no moves, and they lost uh their defensive lineman, Franklin Myers, who's uh probably top 15 in the league anyway. Uh KC, they lost three players in the secondary. Their safety went to another team.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

And Minnesota, they lost two defensive tackles. Their center retired and they made no moves. Those are the losers.

SPEAKER_03

Jacksonville does not have a first-round pick, even though it would have been. They foolishly traded it away last year for fucking Travis Hunter. That was dumb. It sounds like they're gonna get more clarity on where Hunter plays this year. He's not there. Yeah, they did overpay, and um He better be a superstar, he better be a superstar, yeah. And you know, from all the all the scouts said sure he was, but we've seen that before.

SPEAKER_02

Uh let me just go through my bets, uh, uh Dork. I'm not gonna go through the ones we went through on the last show for everybody, but I added a couple of uh uh uh bets uh uh early on in free agency. I probably bet this shit, I don't know, Tuesday or so. Okay. Uh I got the Giants over seven and a half wins at plus one oh five. I trust Harbaugh. Okay. He'll win eight fucking games.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah, I can see that.

SPEAKER_02

I also got Carolina to win the NFC South at plus 360. Love it.

SPEAKER_03

See, that's that's jumping in there before the before things like that moves, making make a bet on a team that has just been out of the limelight for a while, so no one's really watching them, but they made some sneaky good moves. Yeah, they did. Yeah, and they won that. They won the division last year. And wouldn't they be the favorites now?

SPEAKER_02

After the Tampa Bay and then New Orleans and them. It's dumb. And then Atlanta's in the cellar. Yeah. Uh Atlanta's like plus 450. Uh uh also since the last time I read my best, uh uh I threw down on Brock Purdy to uh MVP 20 to 1. Love it.

SPEAKER_03

Uh that's that's only been helped with uh Mike Evans. That's what I'm talking about.

SPEAKER_02

And and that's it. So there's uh there's the fantasy football, frenzy, free agency.

SPEAKER_03

So totally totally encompassing, totally and all encompassing. There we go. Um, hey, do you know where Mac Jones may end up? It's uh if I had to bet right now, I bet the Niners keep him.

SPEAKER_02

Okay. Uh Brock Purdy is uh uh the last few years, couple years, and uh he's probably the best backup in the fucking league. He's up there, yeah. Yeah. Uh that's why Jimmy Garoppolo's still with the Rams. So uh if they do trade him, though, I think the smart move would be for him to go to Minnesota. Yeah instead of Kyler.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02

But apparently Minnesota ain't biting on uh draft picks or whatever to make that deal. And they they get uh Kyler for 1.3 million.

SPEAKER_03

Yeah. That's a hell of a uh so I think he stays. Okay, so I'm guessing we'll be back in a month with a draft preview. Yeah. And then um a post-draft one the uh week after. Yep. Or maybe the day. I we'll see. And um, you know, it's a fun draft. It looks like there's a lot of good edge rushers out there. There is.

SPEAKER_02

Um seems like there's better defensive than off defensive.

SPEAKER_03

It seems like a good defensive draft. Yeah, it does. So um, you know, keep enjoying the offseason. Football's uh 24-7, 365 thing now. So big time. Um yeah, and um we'll be here in a back in about a month to talk draft.

SPEAKER_02

So I'm talking about thanks again for watching fantasy football with the dork and the dude.
