Lexie Smith
I am how's it going? Oh,
Emily Merrell
it's been so long since I've seen your beautiful face. Yeah, for like
Lexie Smith
two seconds. Um, how are you today?
Emily Merrell
Doing your something creepy that I do now? Yes, always. So my phone, I change it so I can have pictures that rotate on my phone. Every once in a while your beautiful face pops up?
Lexie Smith
Well, what a treat for your day. Oh, it
Emily Merrell
is it totally makes my day. Here's where I am starting to be my mother. So sorry, mom, if you're listening all then screenshot the phone background and send it to that person. So watch out for a text from me.
Lexie Smith
I want a text and I want to know what beautiful picture you got to see me. Yeah, I'll most
Emily Merrell
likely be one of our visits. But it's a surprise and delight every morning, I just gotta wake up. And then every time I click it, it's a new photo. It's actually terrible. Because now I look at my phone even more. So
Lexie Smith
in real life here, current struggle behind the scenes in my life. It's 2023. And it's the first time anyone in my immediate family meaning me my husband or my daughter has COVID. So CJ is COVID. And we've never dealt with this. And I know we're three years into a pandemic and whoever's listening you probably feel one of 500 different ways about it. But we didn't know what to do. Okay, COVID cj had COVID baby was fine. I was fine. So we have decided to to isolate. And the reason that Oh, I was like there was a point to this, the reason I'm sharing this, that in order to feel included, included, TJ keeps wanting to FaceTime us, but I'm really trying to not have Ashlynn addicted to our cell phones. And so I've been saying no to FaceTiming My poor husband in isolation, because I saw after one day and accepting his calls, she was becoming increasingly already addicted to wanting my phone and she's
Emily Merrell
Yeah, or maybe she was just addicted to seeing her her father.
Lexie Smith
Yeah, but no. So now every time we FaceTime, I'm like, nope, unsubscribe block. We can't do it. I love it. I
Emily Merrell
have to say I got this picture from Lexi on Valentine's Day, and she's eating pizza on the couch without pepperoni which was fairly devastating. But that's a different conversation. And I was like, where's TJ? looked at it so many times in di and CJ is outside through the door. eating pizza, too. But, but that was your Valentine's Day dinner. It was adorable.
Lexie Smith
Really? Romantic. We don't know what we're doing. But we're day six now of isolation. I'm still testing negative he's still lighting up the test. Thank me still healthy babies only person we care about. I mean, I care about him too, I guess. But anyways.
Teacher don't listen to the whole episode, please.
Lexie Smith
Um, but you guys before we get to too squirrely, we were it was brought to our attention the other day by a lovely listener. They didn't actually know what the ReadySet coach program was. So we decided to take an episode and go over what this beautiful baby that we made really is. So today we're going to be talking about what is the Ready Set coach program. Emily, Will you kick us off?
Emily Merrell
Yes. I also I think the way that we use baby sometimes people are like, so you're in a relationship, right? Yes, yes, we're contracts contractually bound to one another in a capacity. But great question. And I'm so glad we're diving into this. But ReadySet coach is an intimate program and community that teaches professionals and ambitious entrepreneurs how to launch and build a coaching side hustle, revenue stream or business.
Lexie Smith
Yes. So that is our quote unquote, one liner, right. So what does that mean? So this program has gone through multiple iterations. So if you're a past grad, you know what we talked about today might look a little different than the cohort that you went through. But what we're going to talk about is what it is today and we are recording this mid February our winter cohort is launching You're on February 27. If you're listening to this in real time, and you want to join us, like calendar, check, slide into our DMS reach out because now's the time. If not, if you're listening to this after the 27th, then we will likely be launching our next cohort late summer. So stay tuned for that. But here are some of the nitty gritty nuts and bolts. And do you want to talk through the high level structure for them?
Emily Merrell
Well, lacs Yes, before we even dive in, I just want to articulate who this is for. And I know we said it in our one liner, but this isn't for the person who has been coaching for years and years. And she's a solopreneur. Coach, this is for the busy professional. This is for the business owner that has a super successful marketing agency. This is a person who has been reached out to 1000s of times and been like, Can I pick your brain? Can I get get on your books to talk through something? And who is ready to create a coaching revenue stream? Is there anything else you want to add to that Lex?
Lexie Smith
Yeah, it's also for the new coach that things just haven't been put into place. Right? So we are saying oh, if your coach you can't join us, we're just saying this isn't for the coach. That's five years. And this is for the new coach or someone who's really new to exploring their coaching journey, whether that be in the form of a side hustle revenue stream or a full time business, we do have people that long term want to take this full time and some people aren't in it. So basically, the people who want to make coaching part of their their lives.
Emily Merrell
Yeah, nailed it. All right, like so let's talk about the nitty gritty of this program. And I love getting this out of the way because a lot of times you're thinking like, well, I want to create a side hustle or I want to create the coaching thing, but Well, I have time for it. So first and foremost, foremost, this is a four month program. This is something where we meet bi weekly for 80 minutes via live group coaching, say that 10 times fast. And in addition to that you get bi weekly accountability buddies so on the weeks that were not meeting you were meeting with other members of the cohort who are helping you navigate the homework I'll be navigate the the modules that we provide to you and I are in the same seat that you are in what I love about this program lacks and something that we really lacked when we were looking in our own coaching journeys for what we wanted is you get the community but you also get the one on one coaching with with you and me and as you guys know if you've been listening to this podcast for a while, Lexi and I are a ying and yang. I was gonna say all the olive oil and vinegar, but I think that sounds too severe because we are very, very complementary to one another, the grace to each other's Frankie. And I'm Frankie guys. Anywho. Um, yeah, what I really love about this is it's multi dimensional, in that it both has the group, it's got the one on one and it's got the hybrid experience with the modules.
Lexie Smith
So for my grace is out there to kind of recap recap, recap what my Frankie just said it's four months, we meet bi weekly as a group, there is a Slack channel for support in between. In between our live group coaching sessions, you are given modules to consume with homework, you have accountability buddies, we also invite and guest experts. These once again are all the nitty gritties of the structure. So cool, cool, Grace. Okay, let's see. What are we learning right so details aside? What are we learning I'm this is where I know my Frankie gets all excited. So what are the different things that we were just thrown on this thread?
Emily Merrell
You bribe me with chocolate? No. No, no. Okay. So back to back to again, our coaching experiences and like our what we had to, to learn and put together to launch our own coaching businesses. We were learning from so many different people, we were hiring mindset coaches, we were hiring systems, coaches, and taking all that information and making it our own. So in this four months together, we've really, really, really wanted to take the high level and like the nitty gritty of that information and digest it down for you all so in saying that, we are going to be creating or refining your your marketable coaching offer. And I think a lot of times this can be the hardest piece to do. You know, figuring out what is it that I'm selling? What is it that I am capable of, of coaching on? Or like what else are we doing?
Lexie Smith
Well, let's go through it methodically. So we're gonna start here again, Grace, Grace, Grace, grace, we start this program foundationally looking at your mind, go into the why you're doing this the problem you're wanting to solve as a coach. So this might be something as you're listening that you already know, this might be something that you don't regardless, we have a way of approaching it. That helps you get very clear and being able to move on to structuring an offer. But before we even get to structuring the offer, we also look at numbers. When I talk about ReadySet coach often I say it's Business School for coaches, it really is. So we're not going to teach you necessarily how to coach on your zone of genius. We're going to teach you how to have a coaching business or revenue stream that successful part of that is really understanding your numbers. So we start with the why we go into numbers, we do some market research. And then we get up to the point that Emily's talking about where we are able to really kind of articulate what is your first or your next marketable offering? Yeah, and
Emily Merrell
we do that through market research. So a lot of times we see people who are launching into things who haven't done the market research you haven't. They're like, You know what, I want to create a coaching business for cats. But have they done the research on cat owners? Have they talked through the problems now and we give you the the tools, the templates, the verbiage to make it your own? And to have those conversations with your ideal clients? And yes, Lex, thank you. I am your Frankie. But yeah, crafting your offer to sell is a is something that we get into probably like at least a month into the two months into the program. And then what do we do next one is
Lexie Smith
dot dot, dot, dot dot. From there, we talk about marketing, high level, right? So you have a program. So if we, if we track, right, we've gotten our foundations down, we have a business model set up, we get your program, nuts and bolts put together, what are you going to be selling? Then it's how are we going to sell it. So we teach you very specifically, how to set up a lead generation funnel for a coaching business that feels good for you. We're not the coaches that are going to tell you there's one size fits all, hey, we're going to tell you our preferences, we're going to share past experiences, but we're also going to lead you and guide you on a journey to figuring out which type of marketing style makes sense for you. Is it hosting a signature event? Is it really playing up social media? Is it not on the interwebs? Are you going to be someone that's more really hitting in real life networking hard. So this is a journey that we lead you through really intentionally and thoughtfully as well.
Emily Merrell
Yeah. And which brings us then to the next part where we've got clients knocking on your door who are interested to, in what you are selling. And this is where the imposter syndrome and all of the mindset work comes in. But it's selling that offer, it's teaching you how to sell but sell for you, there are so many different styles of selling, there's masculine or feminine, but creating and crafting something that is so authentically your version of selling. And we help you and finesse it with you that whole sales process. And then when the client says yes, it's celebrating and implementing the workflows, like the workflows of onboarding your client, and bringing them into your into your world. And setting up those one on one or group coaching calls that you're having
Lexie Smith
contracts is something we go, we go over what is the back end workflows, and what are the front end workflows, client gifting what systems make sense for you in your business? That's something that Emily and I have extensive system experience. It's something that we're consistently evolving within our own businesses. And so we can really speak to a multitude of systems. So we talked about client relations, all things client relations, and then we go into, okay, so you have some marketing, and you're starting to get clients. What's the next level? Well, the next level is when we introduce PR and thought leadership into the into the picture.
Emily Merrell
Yeah, this is guys Lexie crushes it and excels in this area. And really, really, really helps you get clear on what you want to be a thought leader on. And then we conclude our program with one of the modules that I think is in the lessons that I think is the most important not only in your business, but in your life. But it's boundaries and boundaries as a business owner boundaries as a coach, and boundaries for your client and setting up those relationships right out of the gate.
Lexie Smith
So that's kind of a high level, high level overview of the baseline curriculum. But there's so much more that's happening. Beyond that. One of the things that's really, really cool, is we invite guest coaches in that our current cohorts need, meaning if we start to see, clearly this given group of women really need extra help with mindset, or they need extra help with branding, then we will go and hand select a guest coach that speaks to that. So Emily and I while we think we're cool, we also know we're not the only experts in the room, right? So we invited I know I know. So some past examples of coaches we've had or we've had social media influencers, lead social media workshops, we've had sales workshops, we've had money mindset workshops, we've had lawyers come in mountains come in Really we tailor that experience to the unique group of women that we have in a cohort.
Emily Merrell
Yeah. And again, the cohort while we mentioned it's four months, the relationship doesn't really end there. We have seen this cross collaboration and connection continue beyond the four months. So much. In fact, we created a grad program to support and continue and foster those relationships beyond the ReadySet coach program. But even independent of our grad program, I've loved seeing Instagram lives or events or programs even offered and created by the individuals in tandem with one another. So
Lexie Smith
hired each other can we got a shout out so many of our clients? Here's the thing that I love about ReadySet. Coach and why I think it's so powerful for someone looking at coaching to join us as opposed to a different more generic mastermind or business container. You're in a room full of other coaches, and coaches, the thing that we all share, regardless, what you're coaching on is the love of learning. There's a sense of empowerment in the room, and wanting to overall learn how to do something. So you're literally sitting in a room of prime potential candidates. And we see this time and time again, where yes, they meet each other in our group, they end up hiring each other far beyond the four months that we work with them, or the grad program is really cool
Emily Merrell
totally and being have having space held for each other, and giving them that they're such givers. It's not like a roomful of takers who just want and want and want their they're very generous with each other. So that's, I think, high level Ready, Set coach, but lacks you. And I know we love to talk about perks. Can we talk a little bit about the perks of ReadySet? Coach?
Lexie Smith
Sure. One of the big perks that I think are bonus perks is that by joining our program, you're also given access to this super cool community. I don't know if you've heard of it called Six Degrees society ReadySet six degrees society basically at this point.
Emily Merrell
Are you my co founder and chair? Yeah, no, guys, I am a super advocate of networking both of us are it's so important in terms of growing and growing your business creating more visibility for what you are building. So you in tandem with ReadySet coach will be networking and also given the opportunity to host an event for six degrees society, which I think is an incredible jumping off point for you as you are cultivating and bringing in your clients.
Lexie Smith
And something else that we should mention is there's two levels to join us with ReadySet. Coach, we have a base package and then we have an upgraded package. So with the base package, you're given access to a one on one coaching call with Emily and then a one on one coaching call with me. And of course that have perks, if you upgrade your package, there's an opportunity to receive a lot more one on one coaching with both Emily and I get even more perks. So even more perks for example, include some of the trainings from my other company that pure Inc, such as how to build a media kit and immediate kit training. Emily, I know you have an awesome virtual course you offer as well.
Emily Merrell
Yeah, how to delegate and get organized a f. And I think we'd be remiss to also mention that the the higher level, which we call a gold level is an opportunity to get more support and more one on one coaching with with Lex and I. So what that means is in addition to calls one on one calls, they also get slack support. So it's not just like, Hey, girl, hey, girl, what's up, it's more an opportunity to drop, copy, drop sales pages, drop your homework, and have us be your pocket CMOS. So we can dive into your homework and give you real time feedback on everything. And really, really be there for you Monday through Friday and Monday through Thursday, because we don't work Fridays Monday through Thursday and give you the feedback that lacks when you're creating something. Yeah,
Lexie Smith
we're great little pocket copy copy editors. Speaking of slack, it's something that we haven't gone too much into. But if you're not familiar with Slack, it's a chat platform. Some people come to our program, loving it, knowing it, some people don't and then they learn to love it. It's it's a great platform and so much magic happens in between our live group calls. We have channels set up on a variety of topics. For example, we have a channel that's set up on that's called support me please. And the purpose of this channel is for everyone in the group when they have a social media post or an event or something they want support on. They drop it in there and everyone in the group supports them. So think about it's automatically cap our groups around 10 to 12 people 10 to 12 people providing love providing comments sharing your work so automatic shareability there. We have also a channel on for peer review, so even if you don't have an upgraded package with a one on one copy editing with me and and you can always drop your homework for peer review. Thoughts, feedbacks, again, this is a room full of coaches they want to help. We also have conditions channel where we drop, Emily drops her favorite books, I dropped lots of podcasts and anyone else is able to drop things as well. TV
Emily Merrell
shows in between. Yeah, so I think I level hopefully we pulled back the curtain enough on what Ready Set coach is and what it is that we're we're delivering to our clients.
Lexie Smith
It's really, really special. We're not just saying that because we're the co founders, we wouldn't still be doing this if we didn't truly, truly love and believe in what we've built. It's it's intimate. It's not a mass program where 500 people join and you're, you're one of many. While it is a hybrid group and one on one program and it's very, you will receive full hand holding and support each step
Emily Merrell
of the way. Amen to that so lax, aka grace. Thank you so much for unveiling the curtain about Ready Set coach with me.
Lexie Smith
