not by power, not by might, but by the spirit of the living God, the say Lord. Welcome back to another episode of Case by Casie. The Holy Spirit is here and he is ready to speak. So I want to thank you guys for tuning in. And today we're going to be talking about having the spirit of a watchman. And I'm excited about this because this is a place where the Lord has been trying to usher me in and.
transparently and I want to be transparent with you guys forever and always as long as the Lord gives me this platform is yeah I was avoiding the call for for some time now but I've finally put myself aside and given the Lord his way to make a way where there is no way and the spirit of the watchman first starts off with just understanding who a watchman is so a watchman is a person
appointed by God to maintain vigilance, protection, and to also warn individuals or even communities or nations of impending physical, moral, or spiritual dangers. So watchmen are entrusted with responsibility, accountability, and readiness, serving as guardians, intercessors, and messengers of the living God.
to ensure the safety and wellbeing of those under their care. So a watchman can come at many different levels. So was going deep into the Bible about understanding, literally the Holy Spirit just dropped what is a watchman on my heart. And the reason, the context behind why this episode is started is one, because I was affording the call, but even before that, the Lord was placing around me people. And this is one way that you know if you're called to be a watchman.
the Lord will place you around people who are praying for you, praying especially at night for you, going through the long hours of the day. And the reason why a watchman is so important, because if you go throughout the Word of God, and I'll mention some people later on in the episode, but if you go throughout the Word of God, you'll see how in pivotal moments, and even Jesus himself says to, if you look at Jesus' life, he would stay up at night and he would pray.
Jethro Casie (02:23.778)
So what is the purpose of a watchman? What are some of the levels? Because everything with God is in dimensions, realms, levels. The Bible says that we are going to glory to glory. So where you're at isn't where you're always supposed to be. And where you see somebody who's above you, there's another level even above them. And this is the thing about
God and His word is that there's always a revelation of His word. That's even something that I may understand now, and this happened to me many times, but even something that I understand about the word of God now, there's something deeper that I didn't catch before. That's the same thing with the Watchman. And to my understanding right now, I have about four levels of Watchman and how you progress. And the thing about spiritual things,
is that they're just like anything and this is I think a spiritual principle is that everything seems complicated until you first do it and what I mean by that is the realm of the spirit or the spiritual realm when you say Lord Jesus open up my spiritual eyes and my spiritual ears and that's a prayer I highly recommend you you're making right now I'll just take me a second but once that begins to happen it's not like
your eyes are open and you start to see things in the spirit just like that. It's a progression and the same with watchmen. So the first level of being a watchman is like a literal vigilante or vigilance or a literal guard or you can in other words, sentinel. The second layer is a moral oversight. So these are leaders, people who ensure justice. The third type is a person who's an intercessor and this is standing in the gap for others.
And the last one is as a prophetic watchman, somebody who's the warning and declaring God's truth.
Jethro Casie (04:28.204)
And what I learned is that the call of a watchman isn't a glorious one. And what I mean by that is you're going to receive very little praise and no glory by those around you because it's a place that's done in secret. And the reason why this is so amazing is because your glory now comes from God. God is the one who have to vindicate you because of what you've done in the secret place. then the verse
that I'm reminded of is, and even before that is like, what is diligently, and this goes for any type of success, not just spiritual success. Like in the world, people will say, real G's move in silence like lasagna. And the same applies spiritually. There's actually a spiritual principle and a biblical principle is that the Bible verses, he who dwells in the secret place.
of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty." So what you do diligently, consistently in the secret place, meaning your meeting place with God, the place where Jesus says when you go into your closet and you shut your door to pray, that secret place. And if you don't have a secret place, I highly recommend asking the Lord to show you how to create a secret place. And the thing with God is that as you...
enter into levels of prayer and enter and grow in your watchman capability because it's first going to start in the physical right but as you get deeper and deeper you begin to enter into the spiritual and the Lord begins to show you things about what is happening around you what is happening to others and then that's obviously where you get to the level of intercessor and we'll talk about that as well but the next verse is that if you want to function
with the power of God, you are automatically called to be a watchman. And the reason why is because just like the Lord Jesus, Lord Jesus was many things and he's also somebody who prayed at night. I think if we're also called right to do the Jesus himself says that we are called to do greater works than him. So that means that we also have to replicate what he's done. And one of those things that he did is that he would stay up at night to pray.
Jethro Casie (06:52.654)
There's a whole different teaching I'll probably do on this and as I'm still learning, but there's these prayer watches that the Bible talks about. And Jesus would pray anywhere between 12 in the morning all the way to like sunrise. So four, five, six in the morning. And there's a reason behind this. And there's certain things that can only happen at certain times. So Daniel 11, verse 32, this is the New King James Version.
Those who do wickedly against the covenant, he shall corrupt with flattery. But the people who know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits. So you're praying, you're praying, you're praying, Father God, use me. I want to be in your power. But with that is also a calling to know God. And how do we know God? We know God through his word and through prayer.
We literally know him through Jesus and through the Holy Spirit. Then we get to know the Father. That's why the Lord says, nobody can come to the Father except through me. So the more you know Jesus, the more you know about God. The more you know about the Holy Spirit, the more you know about the Father, because they're all one and the same. They're all different manifestations. But even more so is something that I learned recently, is that we are made in the image and likeness of God.
So that means if we want to know who we are, we also have to look at the image that we are created in, and that is God. So the more you even begin to know God, you begin to learn more about yourself. And one of those things that you will learn, especially if you desire the power of God, and if you're listening to this, you definitely do, is that you are called to be a watchman. You are called to be set apart in your duty as an intercessor. So the reason why
we even fall at times and that we continue to fall is because we stepped out of the duty of being a watchman. And this was something that the Lord gave to me, which kind of blew my mind is because even in the beginning, thank you, Holy Spirit, even in the beginning, Adam was called to be a watchman. Now let me explain that. Adam in the garden was called to, and I'll just read the verse here. This is Genesis two.
Jethro Casie (09:22.462)
Chapter 15 and the Lord God took man and Put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it dress it there is to work it and keep it is the word like to guard it and These are two verbs that indicates Adam's role as one a caretaker and a protector of the garden the Hebrew word for keep is Shammar and It's also used in the reference
to the duty of a watchman in other parts of scriptures. And it signifies protection and vigilance. So you see, Adam was actually tasked to be the watchman of his garden. And the watchman is so much deeper because there's layers to even not the physical to spiritual part of being a watchman, but what you're watching over. So one recalls to be watchman's of ourselves, right? And the reason why this is is because the...
the word of God, Jesus says, the greatest commandment, one of the greatest commandments is to love others as you love yourself. So if you can't watch over your own self, if you can't watch over your own love, you'll never be able to give that love or even watch over other people's love. So there's one part is keeping yourself and dressing yourself before you even go into the garden to protect it, right? And your garden there,
The Garden of Eden represents the presence of God. So we're there as watchmen to guard and keep the presence of God, not only upon our own lives, but upon the lives of others. And this is why prayer is so important, because when you're called to be a watchman and you're called to pray, and God is bringing you into that place where you're interceding on the behalf of others, where you're literally being his own eyes and his own mouth. Because the thing about being a watchman is that
And this goes to this deep but the Lord says that many are called for fewer chosen and That ever salking about a specific context, but even in the case of a watchman many are called to the prophetic many are called to be evangelists many are called to To be watchman, but fewer choosing and it's not who's doing the choosing the Lord's already chosen you though the Word of God says he already preordained I believe Jeremiah to be a prophet
Jethro Casie (11:46.52)
before he was born. So we're already pre- and there's another verse that talks about we were predestined. Right, so you're already predestined to be who God is making you to be, but now it's up to you. It's many are called, so I've heard the call and now it's up to me to do the choosing to walk. And this is why it's a walk with Christ. This is why we call it to walk in the spirit and not the flesh, because it's a choosing. And this goes back to free will. But going back to-
to Genesis 2.15. If you guys are new to this channel podcast, make sure to like if you're enjoying the video and share with a friend and somebody who goes on like spiritual tangent. stick with me. Going back to Genesis, actually going back to Adam's assignment. So Adam was tasked with being vigilant and ensuring the wellbeing of the garden and sure that no harm or corruption came to it.
but he's also called to watch over Eve, his woman. And speaking to my men now is that we are also called to watch over our significant others, not just in prayer, but also physically, right? The spiritual side and the physical side. And Adam failed at both of those. So I originally started this, the reason why we fell and even why we continue to fall.
is because we step out of the duty of a watchman. See, Adam's assignment was very watchman-like, where he was supposed to maintain basically the well-being of creation until he received a certain spiritual level because he continued to watch and he continued to pray. So how do we be a watchman in the main way? How do we have the spirit of a watchman? How do we receive?
spirit of a watchman. Well first every spiritual thing first starts with a desire. The Bible says ask and you shall receive. So if you don't have the desire, the asking there isn't Lord, this is this good, the asking there isn't just Lord I want to be a watchman because you can have empty words and this is why conviction is so important and faith because the faith
Jethro Casie (14:06.624)
is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So what I've learned is that when you're praying, you're not just speaking words, but you're also already receiving what you're praying for without having received it. And what I mean is, Lord Jesus, I want to be a watchman. I want to be used in your power. See yourself staying up at night and praying. See yourself being used in the power of.
power of God. If you see a man of God prophesying, see yourself prophesying. If you see a man of God doing deliverance and healing, even if you have no clue on how to do it, you see yourself doing it and then the prayer is answered. And obviously prayer is aligned with God's will. So it has to be in God's will. So how do we be a watchman in the right way? First step is to the sire. But we also first want to start at the physical. So a little watchman, their purpose,
is to provide physical safety and alert others to imminent danger. So a modern application of this person would be people serving as police officers, security guards, first responders, or even individuals in the army who are called to protect the nation, right? Because a watchman isn't, and there's levels to that too, a watchman isn't just called to a specific person while someone, they can be called to a family.
a group of people, a nation. God calls us to be watchmen and sense to Israel and say, pray for the peace of Jerusalem. And then we step into the more watchmen. And these are people who are leaders who are in charge of ensuring justice. their purpose is to ensure social harmony and adherence to God's law. And this could look like people who are pastors, judges, rulers, teachers.
can all act as wise men, or sorry, watchmen by upholding justice and order. And I'm reminded now of the book of Joshua. I believe it's Joshua one verse eight, or maybe five, something like that. But the verse says, I will meditate on the law day and night that I may have good success. And that's a part of the purpose of the watchman is.
Jethro Casie (16:27.904)
not just the meditation piece, but also the acting out piece to make sure that the law of God is upheld in a place. The third piece is the intercessory watchman. And this is a person who is called to pray and spiritually protect others, calling on God's intervention and guidance. So this is look like if you're a prayer warrior, you're literally called to be an intercessor. This can also be pastors or anyone who's consistently praying for the church.
family, community, nation, whatever the case may be. And the call to be an intercessor.
is one of the deepest calls in ministry is because without you many people wouldn't fulfill their destinies. And what I mean by that is there's people out there who God has spoken to them, Jethro. They have no clue who I am. They have no clue why they are praying for me, but their obedience in prayer is what leads me to continue to fight. And I truly believe that there's people right now praying for me who I've never met and I probably will never.
who would continually pushing up my destiny. That's the purpose of an intercessor. And I believe that your reward in heaven will be great because of the destinies that you're saving here on live and even the souls that you're potentially saving through that person fulfilling their destiny. And then the last or the highest level of a watchman to my understanding at this current point is a prophetic watchman.
And this is somebody who is called to deliver God's messengers. And then example of this is Ezekiel three, verse 17, son of man, I've made the a watchman onto the house of Israel. Therefore hear the word in my mouth and give them warnings from me. But this watchman isn't just any, this is a watchman who just keeps what he says to himself. The role of a prophet is, is correction to lead the body. if you
Jethro Casie (18:37.158)
When you look at scripture, many of the prophets are called to lead the people of Israel back to him. So the purpose of this prophetic watchman is to warn and guide others, ensuring they turn back to God to avoid spiritual consequences. So this can also look like spiritual leaders, preachers, evangelists, or prophetic voices in the body of Christ who boldly proclaim God's word and who steer
body of Christ back to Jesus. And you see, it doesn't necessarily mean you have to be a prophet to be prophetic. And overall, in conclusion, to sum up the episode.
whatever stage you are at, if you if you're listening to this podcast, you desire to to be a man of God, to be a woman of God who functions in the power of the Holy Spirit. And part of that is submission. That submission is going to look like sacrifice. And it's something that you have to ask God to build you up to, because even now, I'm not perfect. I'm barely I'm barely praying at night. So it's a level of
It takes grace to get there, but it also takes the choosing, the self-discipline, the free will portion that we talk to. So in conclusion, the purpose of a watchman is protection and preservation of God's will to be completed here on earth. It's also a form of spiritual accountability and leadership that if the Lord is bringing you into the place of a watchman, he's also trying to raise you spiritually. It's a call to intercessory
prayer, not just prayer for yourself, but truly praying for others. And when you pray for others, God is also hearing the prayers that you need. It's also to fulfill God's purpose for our lives. And lastly, it's preparing for Christ's return because in Matthew 24, 42, it also just talks about like a spiritual readiness that we carry. It's that you're watching and praying. You're waiting for something to happen. You're waiting to hear what the Lord will say.
Jethro Casie (20:45.548)
And as we recall to even watch for Christ's return, says in Matthew 24, 42, watch therefore, for ye know not when, for ye know not what hour your Lord.com. So even as Christians, we're called to watch, to be aware of the signs of when the Lord Jesus is coming back. So I thank you guys for listening and God bless you guys.
