Welcome back to another episode of Case by Casey. And today we're going to be talking about, do you really believe the word of God? Guys, I just want to confess and speak to you guys because the Lord spoke to me and just told me, you don't actually believe my word. And man, I've been on this Christian journey just as everybody's probably listening.
has been as well. And a lot of times we end up not, we understand what the word of God says, right? And even to like, there's, think there's levels of understanding. Actually, I know there's levels of understanding, but it's like, do we actually believe what the word says or are we just reading the word? I mean, do you like truly believe it? Not just agreeing with it mentally, but is it who you are? And
this episode, we're going to be talking about examining what that means. And we're also going to be talking about if that's true in your life. And if so, why aren't God's promises coming to pass? So I want to start off back in Genesis 15 verse six. The reason why we're here is because of one man. Well, the reason why.
The faith is here is because of Abraham and his obedience and because he believed and had faith in God's promises that he would have a descendants as numerous as the stars. And in that verse, it talks about how I believe the Lord told him to like, look up and tell him, like, what do you see? And he saw, I see the stars and he's like, that's how big your descendants are, how many descendants you will have. And what the Lord just began to tell me is that
It's not just upon what he's going to give you and the promises that he has for you, but it's also upon what you see as well. And what I mean by that is that in this walk with God, God can only use you up to your capacity. So when it comes to like really believing the word of God. If Abraham really believed in what God had promised, he would see what God is seeing, right? The promises of God.
Jethro Casie (02:20.11)
But a lot of the times when we're lacking faith or we believe that we're believing, we believe that we're believing, right? But the result of that isn't evident in our lives. And what I mean by that, says faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So a lot of the time when God speaks to you or you just have a knowing that you know, that you know, or somebody prophesied to you or you got a word from somebody.
or you had a dream from God, whatever it might be. Hebrews 11 one says, this is what faith is. Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. So I want to ask you this, do you feel like your faith is evidence? Even though you haven't seen the promises of God, are you living that reality now? Because what I'm beginning to understand is that this Christian walk isn't just about
being a Christian. And what I mean by that is you're not meant to just live your life, go to church, pray, and receive some of the promises of God. God wants us to be, we're made in His image and His likeness, right? So God is abundant. God's calling you to abundance, right? Jesus was viewed as, or there's Melchizedek, right? One of the high priests that the Bible talks about. And we're called the royal priesthood.
So in that sense, we're royalty, we're abundant like God, we're supposed to be at least walking in abundance like God, right? There's other promises that he's giving us, but then the question is, why are we not seeing this in our life? It's because we truly don't believe in his word.
I want to push because it's not just about, and my mind breaks it up into like three levels of faith. You can break it up into however you like, but there's another level is that faith isn't just during all the good times in your life, but also during uncertainty. And this is what I'm realizing that this faith is also tied to your level of obedience. And a lot of the times that we're struggling in this walk with Christ is because of
Jethro Casie (04:40.62)
our disobedience and our uncertainty in faith. It's easy to have faith when things, when you can see what's in front of you, but it's hard to have faith when you have to see without physically seeing. And this is like the spiritual side. This is having like where you're not led by the flesh, but you're led by the spirit. And the spirit is something that we don't see physically, right? And this is where a verse like Proverbs three, verse five comes in and says, trust in the Lord.
with all thine heart and lean not onto thine own understanding. And I'm actually going to pull up the Intilinear Bible here and see exactly what this word heart means. So in Proverbs 3 verse 5, it says, trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not onto thine own understanding. That word heart there can be used in a
a different ways, but it says inner man, your mind, your will, your heart, your understanding.
Your heart as a set of courage, as a set of emotions and passions, as a set of appetites, your heart meaning your moral character. So it's trusting the Lord with all of your character and lean now onto your own understanding. Trusting the Lord with all your mind, meaning your will, your emotions, right? And it's, are you truly doing this? Because the result of you trusting in the Lord with everything that you have, with all your heart is that
that faith becomes evident, that faith doesn't just happen. It's not that your faith is now just hoped for, but you're actually walking in that faith. And what I mean by that is when Matthew 14 verses 29 to 30, says, now Peter began walking on the water because he trusted Jesus enough to take a step out, to walk out in faith. But the thing is a lot of times when we walk out in faith, we see the waves and the winds coming and we realize what's happening, but that's when you're still supposed to trust.
Jethro Casie (06:45.174)
the Lord with all your heart. And I would say like level three of do you believe the Word of God is true is coming to the level and this is I'm still growing. I'm still growing in my faith. But it comes to having your faith being unshakable and making a decision that you do believe in the Word of God and you do have faith in the Word of God and you're constantly hearing
the word of God, because the Bible says faith come by hearing or yeah, faith come by hearing and hearing the word of God. And a lot of times in life, we don't have an unshakable faith. We don't make we haven't made a full decision. A decision. What I learned is that it means to cut off another path. So there's Jesus. And then there's your will. And what what I'm learning to is.
The place where God wants to take you, He wants to give you everything you desire, you have, or everything you desire that you want, but He's not going to do it your way. God is going to do things His way and is waiting for you to fully trust Him so He can bring you to His promises. He's waiting fully for you to believe in Him and have faith in Him. And I think a lot of the times,
Me personally, I've doubted God in the sense that I know I understand. Yes, the Bible he teaches or the Bible says that he's the God of God, the King of Kings, he's the God of the universe. But I don't think my mind at its current stage or in its past stage understood what that meant. Like I really serve the God of the universe. You really serve the God of the universe. You serve the creator of all things.
and all things were made in Him, through Him, and for Him. Because we are now His children, that means that we have an inheritance. And inheritance isn't just the things of this world, but the Bible talks about that Jesus came to preach the kingdom of God. And I want you to ask yourself, what is the kingdom of God? I did an episode on this and it's not even scratching the surface, right? But the kingdom of God isn't
Jethro Casie (09:07.236)
because there's a difference between the kingdom of heaven and the kingdom of God. God's kingdom is everything to my understanding. It's like the universe and everything. And God says you will take, you will have an inheritance in that as well. You're co heirs with Christ Jesus. You're co heirs with the one who created everything. And I don't think my mind even understands that as I'm speaking that to you, I say thank you, Holy Spirit. So to wrap it up on whether
you know or whether you really do believe in the Word of God. I think it's also a self-reflecting process is where we truly have to ask ourselves daily, do I have the mind of Christ?
Do I have the mind of Christ? Jesus taught about.
few different things but his message the gospel that he was preaching the gospel of jesus and i did an episode on this is repent because the kingdom of god is at hand and all repentance means means to change your mind and i don't think we just repent daily just like the the bible says i believe to kill your flesh daily or to die daily you're supposed to die daily and the reason that we need to die daily
is because there's level, there's something new, there's another, we have to die daily to our desires, to our will, to our way of thinking, because the Bible even says it. And this is I think if you truly wanna understand spiritual things, it's like the Bible says that His ways are not our ways, God's ways are not our ways, His way of thinking is not our way of thinking, and you eliminate.
Jethro Casie (11:00.388)
excuse me, you will limit God by your way of thinking.
when it's supposed to be us being led by his thinking and his ways. So I hope this episode helped you to reflect on where you're at with your faith. And yes, we all have faith that we're going to heaven, but do you have faith to receive what is yours here on earth? And I think that's the place where God wants us to be, where we have his full manifestation. The manifestation isn't just in
The power of God. Yes, that's a huge part of it. But God is not just powerful. He's abundant, overflowing. He has a spirit of excellence. He's holy. He set apart. He's always in his purpose. And these are also manifestations of faith. This is how you know if you're faith and you believe in the Bible, if your life is also a reflection of this, because we're claiming to be Christians. We're claiming to be the followers of the one true God.
Yet why would anybody want to serve a God where they see you and they see you struggling, you see you're in poverty? And obviously it's not where you start, it's where you end. But a lot of people won't come to Christ unless they see the fruit. And the fruit isn't just the fruit of the Spirit, but it's also the seeds that you've been sowing into the world, the seeds that you've been sowing into your mind. If they're trying to...
If we're trying to preach the gospel, but yet our minds, ourselves aren't even renewed, how is that supposed to transfer over to somebody who has the spirit that's of the world and not of God? So just want to come here quickly and I just want to end off in prayer. Father God, we thank you Lord for this day. This is the day that the Lord has made. Father God, we thank you Lord Jesus because you are King of Kings, Lord of Lords, God of Gods.
Jethro Casie (12:58.414)
Father God, we ask for forgiveness, Lord, for any time that we have doubted your word or not truly believed and had faith in your promises, Lord Jesus. And Father, in the name of Jesus, through the Holy Spirit, begin to renew our minds. Your word says, renew your mind and have the mind of Christ Jesus to repent, Lord Jesus, because the kingdom of God is at hand. Father God, so we can access your kingdom. Bring us to a place of a repented mind.
Father God, where repentance is our lifestyle. Father God, where holiness is our lifestyle, where our purpose is who we are, where faith is what we walk in. In Jesus' name, amen.
