Hey y'all, welcome back to another episode of Case by Casey Kingdom Secrets of Success. If you're new to this YouTube channel or podcast, this is a show focused on empowering Christians to walk into the power of the Holy Spirit. I just came back from Life Surge 2025 in Newark and man, it was a journey. If you're not familiar with Life Surge, worry, neither was I until I found out about it recently. And
It's like some of the top Christian entrepreneurs in the world really just pouring into you for a whole day. So excited to share what I've learned. I'm going to be putting up a picture here or so about who spoke and just want to dive into what I learned about in the event. So the main focus of the event was four pillars, worship, wisdom, work and wealth. And with that, the first people to come up and speak were these two twin brothers called the Benham brothers.
And a little bit about their journey. And I'll go ahead and share my takeaways afters. They were professional baseball players were always in the church. And then three years after leaving baseball and starting a business, they had a hundred real estate properties. And the biggest thing that I think that I learned from them too, was that work is a form of worship. They went into the word.
And they said that in the Hebrew, the word there for work, when you look into it and you a Bible study, Hebrews are the original. I wouldn't say the original, but Israelites believe that work and worship were tied together. And that really resonated with me as I always felt bad about working and not like praying or studying the Bible, whatever the case is. But.
They really broke it down in a way where it's like you're actually glorifying God by the work that you do, which was really exciting. And they also went into the Bible and they made an agreement with God and said, Lord, we're going to read the Bible back and forth or front to cover until we figure out some kingdom like business principles. And that was probably one of the most interesting things as well is because they mentioned that God has created us.
Jethro Heberson Casie (02:22.903)
to actually not just have his riches, but also his wealth. And they broke down riches as being like a form of you're going into a river and you have a bucket and you scoop out of a piece of the water from the river. And once you empty out that bucket, your riches are over. But with wealth, it's like you can never empty out that river. So yeah, really love what the Benham brothers were talking about. And they also talked about
requirements for faith for wealth and the main one is faithfulness. And we all obviously all know like faith without works is dead. So that was something I was questioning too is like, man, have I personally been faithful in the things that God has given me? And I know that my level of faith is also according to my level of work. Like if you have a big vision, if God's given you what he's spoken to you about your life or what you need to do, and you're walking by faith not by sight, that looks as
if you're putting in the work and not truly yet seeing it in the physical, but having the eyes to see it spiritually. So kingdom impact was their message. And the kingdom of heaven is meant to collide with the kingdom of darkness, which makes a lot of sense. I feel like once I gave my life to Christ, that life kind of got harder in a sense. But that's now because like you're on the devil's radar. You're truly an enemy of the enemy.
Right before you were on his side. So yeah, shout out the Ben and brothers. Next was a Dr. John Maxwell, leadership coach, read some of his books before and his first seeing him present was awesome as well. And I think my main takeaway or few takeaways for him was he mentioned the talk. He talked about embracing the hard and that if you do this, you'll always get an ROI on your failure.
And his whole thing around failure, and this was what his talk was about, his speech was about, was that don't get too excited with your success and don't get too down with your failures. Have like a sense of humility, understanding that your successes aren't because of you, they're because of God, and that your failures aren't also like they're because of you, but in the sense of like there's things that you were meant to.
Jethro Heberson Casie (04:42.786)
So they're also because God allowed them to happen in your life, right? God allows your success to come and your failures to come. And he had this five step way of like viewing learning that impacted me, which was like step one is testing or testing and trying new things. Step two would be failing a lot and ideally failing fast. Step three would be learning a lot because you learn from failures, not your successes.
Step four would be to improve quickly. And then step five would be to re-enter into that. And the way he broke it down was, and if you're watching on YouTube, it's like a, and if you're listening, it's like a square. Step one, testing. Step two, learning. Step three, or step two, failing. So step one, testing. Step two, failing. Step three, learning a lot. Step four,
improving quickly and then step five reentering and you go back. But when you go down now, you're not actually going down. You're starting from a higher place. So he's saying that's how you grow, not only spiritually, but also like in the things of the physical, like how you become more skilled in life. It's through your amount of failure. How many failures have you been through? And I think a lot of us as believers kind of expect life to to be.
I wouldn't say less failures, but since we have the God, God of God, the King of Kings on our side, we expect life to be a bit more smoother. But I think that's the lie of the enemy. And the lie we tell ourselves is that that Jesus said that he has overcome the world, right? Fear not. I have overcome the world already. And then the Bible talks a lot about like fearing not. Like don't have fear. I'm wearing this wristband. It says, do not fear for I'm with you. Isaiah 41 verse 10.
So there's going to be things that in our life come to make us fear, but we are commanded and told not to fear because the Lord has already overcome because the Lord is with us. There's a Nick of a Vujicic who spoke and this guy has no arms, no legs. Number one motivational speaker in the world. And
Jethro Heberson Casie (07:02.094)
He came and said something that I wasn't really expecting was that most Christians, even he's talking to people in the audience, right? It's like 10,000 people. Most of us in the audience, not most of us, but many of us in the audience think that we're believers, but we're actually not even right with Jesus. Like in our eyes, like we think we're we're going to heaven, but he was basically saying like you're going to be up for a rude awakening when the Lord comes and says, like, leave me for like, leave me.
Like I never knew you, you worker of iniquity. And that's always like a, fearful or scary thing. But I think in the, in the right perspective of like, truly like, are you in the good graces of God? Like if you're not saved, what are you doing? And if you are saved, why aren't you preaching the word was this message? Cause you have this gift, this gift from God, the gift who is Jesus Christ. And he's saying,
after speaking to all nations, all over the world, speaking to presidents, national leaders, presidents, whatever the case may be, kings, and bringing close to 900 million people to Christ, I believe, or at least speaking to 900 million people about Christ, is that he said that the spiritual is real, that he's seen demons casted out. And I obviously have seen similar things, not too many, Christian. A lot of Christians don't actually believe in like the supernatural, the spiritual world.
They think that demons are a joke. But when you hear somebody who's the number one speaker in the world, made 130 K from one hour of just speaking and sharing his testimony. And he has no arms and no legs. And he tells you these things, things that he's seen. And then he also says, I don't have arms and legs, but God still use me. What's your excuse?
Jethro Heberson Casie (08:54.594)
And something else that he mentions is like, when you don't get a miracle, dream bigger and you actually become the miracle. And that was the emphasis is like, are you dreaming bigger? Have you expanded your vision? Cause sometimes we can limit God in our lives as, yeah, as believers. Sometimes even though we're believing, we lack faith, faith to dream big. Or we don't even allow ourselves to go there and to that place mentally.
Jethro Heberson Casie (09:21.678)
So next was this guy called Steve Champa and he was talking about his story where he's, I believe, doing something in construction or housing, like the shingles, I think on the side. And he's always like nailing things for 10 hours a day, working hard using 200 K in debt after 20, 30 years of, of working like really bad financial habits. But he said that money, managing money is a skill you must learn. And
It's learning on how to self-direct your money, right? The Bible talks about leaving an inheritance for your children's children. And he was sharing from the perspective that the ultimate way to learning how to manage or steward the wealth of God is through one thing is that's really being teachable. Like, are you willing to listen and are you willing to change? Because there's many people out there.
And his testimony was unique in the sense of that he hadn't gone to church in like 20, 30 years. He's like 40 or 50 at the time. And somebody from his, I believe his job had told him to come to church or kept pestering him until he would come to church. And that was the same person who actually introduced him to trading and just hearing how that one connection, and this is what kind of goes into the next person who's Ed Mylett, who's one of my personal
mentors and somebody I'm going to interview on the podcast eventually is that your one decision, your one person, your one connection, your one thought, your one meeting away from changing your life. And if you had never listened to it.
Jethro Heberson Casie (11:16.782)
Thanks.
fridge.
Jethro Heberson Casie (11:31.918)
Eww, you're gonna die now, stupid ass bug. Die!
Dairy.
There you have the nerve to come back to me.
Jethro Heberson Casie (12:15.244)
Yeah. And Ed talks about that. You're one decision, one meeting, one connection, one thought, one emotion, one feeling, one encounter with the Lord from changing and that you were born to do something great with your life. And that's something I truly believe. And part of my mission that the Lord has given me is to become the greatest version of myself so others can believe and see that they can become the greatest version of, of yourself as well. And
He shared a revelation that your talents are actually a result of pain and that the gift that God gives you, that the Lord gives you is directly for other people who have been through that same pain that you've been through.
Something that you have to understand that he shares is you're most qualified to help those you used to be.
but the enemy wants you to think that you're disqualified because of what you've been through. And when you tie it to the word, the word of God says that we have overcome the enemy or the devil by the blood of the lamb and the words of our testimony. So when you actually testify, you're overcoming and you're not only helping yourself overcome, you're helping others overcome as well. And
I also want to share that if you're not familiar with Ed Mylatt, this is a guy who went from literally rags to riches. dad is an alcoholic. His father defeated being an alcoholic and an addict just by the simple rule of one more. And the rule of one more that he shares is that when you feel like you're just about to give up or you're done with whatever task you're doing, do one more. An example would be if you're going to the gym, do one more rep of the 10 you said you were going to do, do 11. If you're struggling with something,
Jethro Heberson Casie (14:10.86)
or let's say you're reading and you read for 15 minutes, do one more and read for 16 minutes because you build the consistency over a lifetime of I'm just going to do one more than what I thought I could do. One, you're pushing yourself, but you're also building this habit of being a person who does more than they even think that they're meant to do or not meant to do, but set out to do where most people do. I'm going to do.
let's say 15 minutes of reading, actually I'll just do like 10 or maybe I won't even read it all. I'll just read when I feel like it.
And some other people who spoke as well that had a really big impact on me was this guy called James Smith. I believe he was making 100 K a month or yeah, I believe 100 K a month by the time he's like 19 or 21 or something like that. And he reminded me of something that words are prophecy that what you decree and declare out of your mouth, even the things that you just speak out of your mouth.
Right. We know the word of God says that life and death is in the power of the tongue and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Knowing that the words that you speak today are going to be what you're seeing in the future. And he also says, instead of spending time watching other people, and he was kind of a savage, but he said, instead of spending time watching other people live their dreams, whether you're like watching sports, TV shows, whatever the case may be.
You're watching somebody else play the game or play the life that the Lord had for them or maybe the Lord didn't set for them, but that they've chosen to live for themselves if they're in the world. But he said, stop watching and go in the game, like become a player, the player of your game, the player of your life. Right. The Bible says that the Lord is the author and finisher of our story. So he's writing our story. But we also have a part to play in fulfilling his will while we're here on Earth.
Jethro Heberson Casie (16:09.27)
And he said, the world will give you what you're willing to accept. And many people accept being less than the best. And he said, you can do things differently, but you can't do things differently while also trying to be normal. So he said, be extraordinary.
Jethro Heberson Casie (16:40.269)
is
Jethro Heberson Casie (16:50.254)
There's this guy called Michael Jr. He's a comedian and his biggest thing that he gave me and I want to share with you guys is that conflict is a tool. He said that information with conflict brings revelation. And he said, you're not in the need because I, and especially in this information age where it's a blessing to have so much access to whatever we want to learn. he said, you don't need information all the times.
Sometimes all you need to do is find conflict and that conflict, that pain, that wisdom, that understanding that you gain through actually going through something, a hardship, not necessarily, I'm not even sharing it, a hardship, a collision where you bring the information to reality and that conflict right there brings a revelation, not only a revelation, because I'm thinking about it in the sense of
to share a story. When I had given my life to Christ, there was this time where out of foolish zeal, I would say that I did something that I shouldn't have. I gave a seed of the money wasn't mine. Right. And at the moment, I thought, you know, I'm giving it to God. was trusting and believing what the man of God was saying. But in that moment, I was all alone. I had.
I felt like my parents were condemning me. I like I really had nobody to reach out to. And this is like months after I gave my life to Christ. And I remember just sitting in my car.
and thinking, and scripture came to me, I don't remember how it came to me if the Lord, yeah, I was reading the scripture and said like, the Lord has already overcome or if the world hated me, be sure that it's gonna hate you or that world hated me first, so it's gonna hate you or something along those lines. And I remember having this peace, and this is the first time I encountered the peace that passed on understanding, but having this peace.
Jethro Heberson Casie (19:00.952)
come over me that I knew everything was going to be okay, even though my bank account was pretty much at $0. That's how much I get. Right. But it was that information of, okay, Jesus is if the world hated Jesus, the world's also going to hate me. But then actually having that conflict gave me the revelation of the peace that passes all understanding. And something that Damon John billionaire, if you don't know him on Shark Tank shares that
Reading his goals daily is the best habit that he's, reading his goals out loud daily is the best habit that he's developed. And I was talking to my girlfriend about it on how I was actually avoiding reading my goals, like, right? I had my goals written down somewhere, but I would avoid reading them because I knew I wasn't being the type of person to actually pursue them.
I wrote it down, you know, made me feel good when I had wrote it. But in reality, I was scared avoiding not being consistent with what I had written down because I wasn't speaking it. And going back to earlier in the episode, that words are prophecy.
Jethro Heberson Casie (20:17.806)
And to end off, there's a few other people who spoke, but the last person I want to mention was Priscilla. believe her name is Priscilla Shrier. And the biggest revelation or thing that the Lord used her to speak to me about was Acts 13 36. says.
for David after he had served his own generation by the will of God. And she said, this is how you want to be remembered. Even though David fell multiple times, he was a sinner like we all are, right? He killed another man's wife. So just sleep with her. Did all these crazy things. One, he was still a man after God's own heart, right?
from what the Lord says, but was that he strived to serve the purposes of God in your generation. And that's the question I want to leave you all with is, are you striving to serve the purposes of God in your generation? If somebody were to write about your story and you go to the end of your life, would they write that Jethro was a man who strived to serve
the purposes of God for generation. Were you a person who strived to serve the purposes of God for his generation? And I want to leave you with this and encourage you that you are meant to be the greatest version of yourself, that God has chosen you for this specific generation.
That the kingdom impact that's going to be coming through you is going to be more than you could ever think, ask, or even imagine. But it all requires a level of faithfulness, a level of diligence. I've been reading Proverbs and the biggest things is, especially since we're in the summertime right now, is that not using the summer as a time to slack off, but a time to work so you may reap the harvest in due time. And I don't think it just applies to the summer, but in any season,
Jethro Heberson Casie (22:30.4)
not being comfortable, being diligent with what God has given you. So I hope this blessed you and case by Casey out. I'll see you on the next episode.
