Welcome to 31 Days of Wisdom, Day 4. We're diving into Chapter 4 of Proverbs. If you're new to this channel or podcast, a show focused on Kingdom Secrets to Success, where we reveal what the Lord is teaching in His Word, so you can walk in the power of the Holy Spirit. So if we can all bow our heads in prayer. Father, we come to you, Lord, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. Father God, we thank you for this fourth day, Lord.

Father God, we thank you that you're releasing the spirit of consistency. Father God, we worship you because you are the God of wisdom, the God of knowledge, Lord, that all these things come from you. Everything that we are seeking comes from you, Lord Jesus. Father God, I pray that you'll be more like your son. Father God, pierce our hearts with your words. Father God, convict us of the things that we have been doing that have not been in your way. Lord Jesus, we love you. I ask you to forgive your audience for their sins, that they will not have condemnation in their heart, because there's no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

Lord, I pray that your Holy Spirit will just guide this next 30 minutes, Lord, for your glory forever and ever. Amen. Awesome. we are going to just going straight into the reading and I'm going to read, I believe we will do the GNT, the good news translation.

The benefits of wisdom is the title section so My children listen to what your father teaches you pay attention and you will have understanding What I am teaching you is good So remember it all when I was only a little boy my parents my parents only son my father would teach me he would say Remember what I say and never forget it do as I tell you and you will live get wisdom and insight Do not forget or ignore what I say

Do not abandon wisdom and she will protect you. Love her and she will keep you safe. Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. Whatever else you get, get insight. Love wisdom and she will make you great. Embrace her and she will bring you honor. She will be your crowning glory. Listen to me, my child. Take seriously what I'm telling you and you will live a long life. I've taught you wisdom and the right way to live. Nothing will stand in your way if you walk wisely and you will not stumble.

Jethro Casie (02:13.762)
when you run. Always remember what you have learned. Your education is your life. Guard it well. Do not go where evil people go. Do not follow the example of the wicked. Don't do it. Keep away from evil. Refuse it and go on your way. Wicked people cannot sleep unless they have done something wrong. They lie awake unless they have hurt someone. Wickedness and violence are like food and drink to them.

The road the righteous travel is like the sunrise getting brighter and brighter into the daylight has come. The road of the wicked, however, is dark as night. They fall but cannot see what they have stumbled over. My child, pay attention to what I say. Listen to my words. Never let them get away from you. Remember them and keep them in your heart. They will give life and health to anyone who understands them. Be careful how you think. Your life is shaped by your thoughts.

Never say anything that isn't true. Have nothing to do with lies and misleading words. Look straight ahead with honest confidence. Don't hang your head in shame. Plan carefully what you do and whatever you do will turn out right. Avoid evil and walk straight ahead. Don't go one step off the right way. Father God, we thank you for the reading of your word and bless this into our heart. So, you know, I want to go straight into

The verse four, it says, my father would teach me. He would say, remember what I say and never forget it. Do as I tell you and you will live. You know, many times, especially like as you grow up, you begin to see your parents more in a in a human light. Right. You get to see them not for like Superman or superwoman growing up as like a kid, but truly that they're like flawed humans just like you. They're they're in need of a savior, too. Right. And

I a lot of the times, like I thought what was interesting is usually when we're following somebody, we don't do as they say, we do as they do, right? Like actions speak louder than words. But in this verse, it's telling you that, and this is going like reading into a text, it's my interpretation just trying to go a little deeper is that Solomon or whoever is writing this here, because not all proverbs is wrote by Solomon, but that he's saying that I've probably maybe,

Jethro Casie (04:38.562)
done things that haven't been aligned with what I would tell you to do as well. Because a lot of times our parents or people in general know what to do. like a lot of people are good at giving advice to others, but they themselves will take their advice. So I think there's a wisdom and also just listening to what people say. And even if they're not doing what they say, understanding that like people can also give things from different perspectives and that they have a seed for what they want to do, but they haven't yet done it themselves. So I think a lot of that

is exactly what our parents like. They had these dreams, these visions, and they try and push it onto us as well. But again, we do what they tell us to do or they do. Yeah, we do what they tell us to do. And, know, I interviewed somebody. This was Pierre. I'm not exactly sure which case it was, but it's verse seven. And we could read it in a few different translations. But in the Living Bible, it says getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do. And with your wisdom,

Develop common sense and good judgment. So without even having wisdom, you can't have common sense. So that's why people will say like nowadays, like common sense isn't that common anymore because it's a spiritual thing. I think even from like a conscious perspective is that when the Holy Spirit speaks to you and when wisdom speaks to you, I'm believing like also like the Holy Spirit speaking through wisdom, like is using wisdom to speak with you because if you remember

if you're here for chapter three, the Lord said he founded the earth by wisdom. Like he did all these things by wisdom and understanding. And they're like two sides of the same coin. And it says here in the voice translation, gaining sound judgment, which is wisdom is key. So first things first, go after lady wisdom. Now, whatever else you do, follow through to understanding. So you can't have wisdom without having

understanding because wisdom is useless if you don't really understand what you're doing and wisdom is the application of something. So if you're applying something, but you're not gaining the understanding from it, you're actually not gaining the full benefits of what wisdom is trying to show you something else that I thought was interesting as we kind of skip around the word here in the KJV. It says for verse 17, and this is like super interesting. I was like, Whoa, Lord, this is this is crazy. So it says, let's talk about the wicked right in the context.

Jethro Casie (07:05.4)
For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. For they eat the bread of wickedness and drink the wine of violence. And I was like, huh, this literally sounds like a false holy communion. See, I know nothing about like witches and maybe not nothing, but like, I don't really have a great understanding of like, which is what happens in like the place of the wicked. But when I read this verse, I'm like, we are called to not called, but commanded, I believe.

to eat the flesh of the Lord and drink his blood and that without it we won't have life in us, believe. It talks about new life, I believe, in the New Testament. And it's interesting to see that the wicked themselves, and this is how the devil operates, right? He has a false everything for the Lord because he wants to be the most hot. But even they have eating the bread of the wickedness and drinking the wine of violence. Whether these are like,

figurative of speech or whatever. just thought it was interesting that that like similarity. so when we go back to another verse that really stood out to me was I believe 23. Let see. Yeah, because this is convicting. And I think especially like if you're into like self-improvement and trying to be the greatest version of yourself, if you're listening to this podcast and you're seeking after wisdom, I'm sure you are.

I'll read it in a few different translations, because I think this one's truly important. So this is verse 23 of Proverbs chapter four. In the KJV, I believe in the Living Bible, this says, above all else, guard your affections for they influence everything in your life. In the KJV, it says, keep thy heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life. In the King James, you read.

In the good news translation, it says, be careful how you think your life is shaped by your thoughts. And in the voice translation, it reads, above all else, watch over your heart, diligently guard it because from a sincere and pure heart come the good and noble things of life. So there's a big emphasis on heart. And we know that the heart is deceitful of above all things, but we're also called to guard our heart. And we know that the heart.

Jethro Casie (09:30.286)
is usually in reference not always but until like your inner man your soul your mind your spirit and I'm sorry not spirit your soul will and emotions or your soul in general and I Think the biggest thing is that the Word of God says as a man thinketh in his heart. So is he And if I were to ask you like what have you been thinking about? Have you been thinking about what you're thinking about? And you know, the the Lord's been highlighting this to me lately is

Two of the like Tony Robbins, Ed Mylett, some of the like most successful self-improvement coaches in the world, not self-improvement, but coaches in the world. And they both happen to be Christian. Talk about thinking is just asking a question and getting an answer. And I've been like asking the Lord, and I would like to do this prayer right now is for the Lord to change our thinking, for us to ask the right questions, because we're only

We can only go as high as we think. Like the Lord has all these plans for you, right? That's why the Lord even says, I have plans to prosper you, plans to give you a hope and a future. The Lord says he will do exceedingly and abundantly more than you can even think or imagine. So there's something about thinking that the Lord even goes above. But as we're here on this, on this world, we function in the realm of, of thinking and thoughts. And that's the high highest level because it says in verse 23, be careful how you think.

Your life is literally shaped by your thoughts. And if I were to ask you, like, if you go back this week or even yesterday, go back to Sunday, like, how were you thinking? Were you thinking one way in church? And now that it's Monday, you're thinking a different way. So, Father God, I pray that you will teach us, Lord, how to ask better questions, Lord, to not focus on the negative things, Lord Jesus, but to focus on your grace and mercy instead of asking the question, how can I do it?

ask the question like, how will the Lord lead me to it? Or I have the strength in the Lord, whatever the question is, whatever the thought is, right? But I truly play Lord Jesus that you will renew our mind, transform our thinking as your word says, Lord that we may live, that we may have the mind of Christ. Father God, we are desiring to think the way you thought while you were here on this earth, Father God, renew our souls, give us a new heart, clean us, Lord Jesus.

Jethro Casie (11:53.942)
and create a clean heart in us, O God, in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus.

Jethro Casie (12:01.678)
The word of God says, ponder the, in 26, ponder the path of your feet. Let all your ways be established. In the voice translation, it reads, 26, says, take care you don't stray from the straight path, the way of truth, and you will safely reach the end of your road. And

The word of God talks about that the the path to destruction is wide. But the the path to salvation is a narrow and straight path. And not to say like from a place of of like a spirit of fear, but having like reverence for the Lord is that even my myself like. I don't know why this is just coming from me from the Holy Spirit has this bubbling up is like not to try and abuse the grace of God.

I don't think we can literally abuse the grace of God because it's grace, but also not like cherishing the gift, which is the Lord Jesus. And rather than Paul talks about this, rather than going away from sin, trying to use grace and God's forgiveness as a license to sin. I've been, yeah, I've been at fault of this as well. Like, I know the Lord will forgive me, but then.

Always there's that conviction, even even in the sin itself, there's that conviction of like, knew I'm not I know I'm not supposed to do this, but I still decide to do it. And Paul talks about that's even worse than an unbeliever, I believe, because they don't have the knowledge. They haven't come to the knowledge of the truth of who the Lord Jesus is. They're still on that path to destruction. But you and I, when we're on that straight path and we choose to sin, it's like forsaking what the Lord has done on the cross. The way that the Holy Spirit is giving it to me now, it's like spitting on Jesus when

Everybody else was spitting on him. It's like mocking him when everybody else was mocking on him and that grieves my heart and I'm sure it does yours too. And I think it's truly important to understand that there are wicked people out there and I'm still like growing in this and maybe it would help if I did like a study on like wickedness for myself and maybe for you guys if you'd be interested in but like

Jethro Casie (14:23.104)
It says in 16, I'll read them in KJV for they sleep not except they have done mischief. They sleep not unless they have done mischief. And that's just like crazy to me to hear is that like there's certain people who like need to do evil. They need to make somebody else fall. need to. And it's crazy. Like people are probably really out there praying against believers like

fasting and praying and sacrificing to false gods and demons and all this other stuff so that you can fall. But I praise God that we are protected. know, we were singing this in church, like the song Favour, it surrounds me like a shield. I think it's truly having that understanding and that thought, right? That like, hey, life is going to be difficult. Life is hard. Like Lord Jesus never promised life to be difficult. If anything, he said it was going to be more difficult. If they persecuted him, they're going to persecute you.

But understanding that the favor of God surrounds you as a shield. That the favor of God surrounds you like a shield. That you're supposed to put on the whole armor of God. That we have this weapon, the sword or the word of God to use as the sword of the spirit. To fight against the wicked, to lift up our shield of faith, to block any fiery darts from the enemy. Because the wicked are there, we know that.

But it's now time for the righteous to rise up. And that's why I believe the Lord is bringing a revival. And I believe that revival starts from a place of wisdom, understanding the importance of a revival. Why do we even need a revival? What is a revival? I believe it stems from wisdom and prayer. And yeah, that's pretty much all I got for you guys. If you enjoyed this episode when you're on YouTube or Spotify, hit the subscribe or follow button. And yeah, love to keep going. And we're going to do day five tomorrow, chapter five.

It's going to get spicy talking about not spicy, it's going to get more interesting talking about like, can I share more of my testimony about like five, six and seven as it talks about like immorality, specifically like avoiding women. So God bless you guys and I'll see you tomorrow.
