Jethro Casie (00:00.494)
Welcome to day seven, chapter seven of 31 days of wisdom. We're back in the book of Proverbs chapter seven. And before we dive into this episode, if you're new to this channel, my name is Shathor Casey. This is case by Casey Kingdom secrets to success. We've gone through the first six chapters of Proverbs and in chapter seven, it kind of touches upon what five and six were as well. But I want to just quickly go over something that I thought was interesting as we go and read.

of this in the English Standard Version. In these first seven chapters, there's been 13 verses that are including verses or phrases such as like, keep my commandments forsaken out the law of your mother or obey the commandments of your father or really anything emphasizing obedience to parents or obedience to God's instructions by parents. So if you're a parent watching this video and everybody here is a son or daughter, no, I would

I don't know why I dropped in my spirit to encourage your parents and give them appreciation. And maybe we didn't always heed their wisdom or instruction, but they still gave it to us anyway. And we're loving. So father God, we come to you in the mighty and powerful name of your son, Jesus Christ. Lord, we thank you for the seventh day, Lord. And we know on the seventh day represents fulfillment, Lord represents per perfection. So father God, I pray that you will perfect your people's wisdom. Lord, we thank you for wisdom. We thank you for allowing us to dive into this book of Proverbs.

But my true desire is that this will just bless somebody, that if they can become a better follower of Christ because of it, Lord, I just thank you. Lord, we desire more of you and less of us. Father God, increase us in wisdom and decrease us in pride, ego. Father God, remove it from us in the mighty and powerful name of Jesus. Father God, open up our ears and eyes to understand that we may receive the wisdom of God. So.

back into Proverbs 7, the title is says warnings against the adulteress. So if you were here for five and six, it's pretty much the same topic. My son says, keep my keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments and live. Keep my teachings as the apple of your eye. Find them on your fingers, write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to wisdom, you are my sister and call insight your intimate friend.

Jethro Casie (02:24.92)
to keep you from the forbidden woman, from the adulteress with her smooth words. For at the window of my house, I've looked out through my lattice, and I've seen among the simple. I have perceived among the youths a man lacking sense, passing along the street nearing her corner, taking the road to her house in the twilight in the evening, at the time of night and darkness. And behold, the woman meets him,

dressed as a prostitute. Willie of heart, she is loud and wayward. Her feet do not stay at home. Now in the street, now in the market and every corner she lies and wait. She sees him and kisses him and with a bold face she says to him, I had to offer sacrifices and today I've paid my vows. So now I have come and now I have come out to meet you to seek you eagerly and I found you. I've spread my couch with coverings.

colored linens from Egyptian linen. I have perfumed my bed with my alloys and cinnamon. Come, let us take our fill of love till the morning. Let us delight ourselves with love for my husband is not at home. He has gone on a long journey. He took a bag of money with him. At full moon, he will come home. With much seductive speech, she persuades him with her smooth talk. She compels him.

All at once he follows her as an ox goes to slaughter or stag is caught fast till an arrow pierces its liver. As a bird rushes into a snare, he does not know that it will cost him his life. And now, sons, listen to me and be attentive to the words of my mouth. Let not your heart turn aside to her ways. Do not stray into her paths. For many a victim has she laid low.

and all her slain are a mighty trong. Her house is the way to Sheol, death, going down to the chambers of death. Father God, we thank you for the reading of your word. And, know, it's interesting because I used to be in the party life back when I was in my fraternity and really going out. Yeah, desired the things of the world. And it's interesting because even though I'm not sure if I specifically met like

Jethro Casie (04:49.794)
this type of woman for the men and maybe the woman out there who did ever go out and for the guys who guys and women who didn't God bless you. I'm glad God protected you in that way. Are you listen to his instruction or the instruction of your parents is there were these people or these women who won people gravitate towards in a strange way. And now with the wisdom and understanding that I have now is that there was a certain spirit behind these people attracting them to you.

attracting you to them. And there's this saying in the world, right? She belongs to the streets and or she's for the streets or she's on the streets or whatever the case may be. It's funny how the Bible even talks about these things. Obviously, I don't think the context maybe obviously written by the Holy Spirit. So, but I find that funny is that as Christians, we're not called to the streets as sons of God.

We're called to not be on the streets. Like my question to this man is what are you doing out so late? Like, why are you like, are you even supposed to be out that late? You probably know from a context, it seems like she was always there. So if he's with his friends, maybe they've spoken to her before or encountered her before or whatever the case may be. But the question is, if you're using wisdom, why are you even putting yourself in certain situations to fall?

You know, there's a wisdom behind setting guard rails and systems in place. For example, if you know that, and this is completely different to lust or adultery, but if you know that you love cookies, like why would you buy cookies and put them into your house if you know it's going to be a temptation for you, if it's going to make you stumble and fall. And the word of God says that whatever you have made up in your mind to, I believe this is true, whatever you have made up in your mind to be a sin, it is a sin if you go against your, if you go against your conscience.

So even that something as simple as not having a system in place to avoid temptation because it says in

Jethro Casie (06:53.294)
You see, it keeps talking about in the ESV and the KJV about writing things on the tablet of your heart. And if you missed the last few episodes or if you were here for the last few episodes, what the word is telling us to do is to literally etch these things into our soul to where not only the commandments of our parents, but we're also the word of God. So you see when Jesus was tempted by the devil,

He didn't have to question. He didn't have to doubt because he knew the word of God and he knew that also the devil would change or misquote or take out of context the word of God. But you know, I've been in conversations with Muslims, Catholics, not say Catholics like I have a problem with Catholics or anything or they're same tier of Muslims, but like people who don't believe what I believe necessarily about the word of God. And it's interesting because

You see one that things that are obvious to you, especially if you have the Holy Spirit, things that are obvious to you like that obviously means X, Y, Z. It's like not saying Catholics don't have the Holy Spirit, by the way, but people who don't have the same understanding or the same revelation of a scripture and have a revelation, but the context of the scripture will quote things. And, know, when I was younger in my faith, actually, this is crazy. I was younger in my faith. I went to this men's conference. I met like this crazy dude and he was talking about spirits and how this

The Yahweh was actually the moon God and he was talking about mother God and and father God and he's like, yo, you're missing it, bro. You're you're deceived. And I was like, am I wrong? And I was really probably like a few months into actually getting back into the word. thank thank God that there was another man of God there. Shout out Zach Richardson, who knew the word of God, who had the word on his heart and was able to actually and I was able to listen in to hear him refute those arguments and the misconstrued.

of scripture. And I it says that without these things being written on the tables of our heart, the question is, how do we write these on the table of the heart? Well, I think it's knowing it, right? It's meditating on the word day and night, as it says in book of Joshua one verse eight. And it talks about meditating on the law and that you will have good success. You see, I'm sure this man here was successful, had things potentially going for him. Maybe if he even if he didn't.

Jethro Casie (09:20.524)
It says that in verse seven, and I've seen among the simple, I've perceived among the youth. there's many youths. There's specifically one young man lacking sense, passing along the street corner, passing along the street near her current corner. And you see this woman has certain places that she stays by. You know, back when I was partying in the world, there were certain parties where certain women would go to and other women wouldn't go to.

And now having my girlfriend, one of the reasons why I was so like shocked and this is my first interaction with like a godly woman, a woman of God, like she smacked me right up and, challenged me and changed my ways is that I was always looking for a girlfriend. always wanted to get like, you know, had the aspirations of being a father, getting married young, all these things, yada, yada, yada. And I was always looking in the right, right, wrong places. I was looking in the wrong places.

at the wrong woman. But then I met my girlfriend and seeing how a godly woman carries herself like you not find a godly woman at this corner. And it was very interesting. She said that she has done her offerings for the day. And this is where like lukewarm or even, you know, wolves in sheep clothing appear. They'll say things I had to offer sacrifices. I made my sacrifices. I did what God wanted me to do.

I'm right with God, you know, but doesn't mean I don't have a license to to sin. it's OK. I'll do my prayer after and I can be guilty. I've been guilty of this of, you know, abusing God's grace, trying to because see, even even this lady saying that she offered her sacrifices today, she doesn't really understand what the Lord wants from you because the Lord doesn't want your your necessarily. And when I say want, like it's not the first requirement.

The word of God says that what the Lord desires from you is not sacrifices or I would give it. It's David talking. But he says the Lord desires a a broken spirit, a broken heart that you will be broken before him. And even Jesus, he doesn't desire you necessarily to give him money, even though tithing is good, even though offerings are good, right?

Jethro Casie (11:39.736)
but he desires that you will love him, that you will obey his commandments. that's been what's, nah, the Lord's leading me to share this, that the church as a whole.

That obedience needs to be our portion. You know, it's not just enough to, I'm talking to myself as much as I'm sharing it with you guys. It's not just enough to, to be in the word. Like even doing the study of problems, this is good, but it's like, are you obedient to the word? Are you actually living out what the, what the Lord Jesus wants us to live out? Are you just saying that you're a Christian? Are you going to prayer? Are you going to church? You're doing all the right things, but where is your relationship with the Lord? You're praying to God, but is he speaking back to you?

How do you even know that what you're doing is the right things? All these questions that we get caught up in so much and doing good works that we forget who the Lord is. But going back to Proverbs seven is that this woman is already using one, her words and her voice. So that's why like if you're spiritually, not even spiritually, but if you're a man who or woman who doesn't have sense, an easy way to discern

whether this person is from God or it's not from God, is not only seeing them when they are at church or offering their sacrifices or doing whatever godly thing that they're doing, but it's in the words that they speak outside and even more so at night because I believe like a lot of people, that's why like parties or not night, even like day parties versus night parties where completely different people feel more free. Like it's dark, nobody sees me, X, Y, Z. And

The word of God says that out of the abundance of the heart does the mouth speak. So you truly know somebody and it talks about this later chapters of Proverbs though, will be like slow to speak and quick to hear, quick to listen because a fool will speak and speak and speak and speak and you'll actually know what that person wants in their heart. So if you're deciding, thank you Jesus, if you're deciding on is this person right for me? Is this person not right for me? Ask some questions.

Jethro Casie (13:53.324)
Begin to observe what they're saying. Not even necessarily what they're saying, but also look into their, you know, the, I'm not sure if this is the word of God, but it says, I believe it says like the eyes are the windows of the soul and look at people's eyes. Look at, look at, really have a connection with people, speak to people, get to know. I'm not saying be judgmental, but use wisdom and be wary, be cautious. Cause not everybody is for you. As we said, I believe in maybe Proverbs four or three or five. There's truly wicked people out there.

There's people who take false communion as we learned, and I believe in chapter three, who are doing false things, they're doing evil prayers, fasting against your downfall. But we need wisdom to truly discern on whether we need understanding to truly discern on whether they are from God or aren't from God. But you see that this person made this mistake, this young man, because he didn't listen to verses one through four.

one through five. says, my son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you. Keep my commandments and live. But there's also a responsibility as parents, if you're a parent watching this, to truly, as the word of God says, like, teach, lift up your children, raise your children in the word so that they know to treasure up your words. And they're the words that they are treasuring because they're going to treasure them either way. Either way, they're going to drop into their soul and

influence who they were. So why not let the word of God influence people instead of your own words? It says, keep my teaching as the apple of your eye. Keep this thing as something that's treasure, like treasurish to you, something that's important to you. You know, it says in the, in the GNT, says, keep my teaching with you, you all the time, write it on your heart. Treat wisdom as your sister and insight as your closest friend.

And even this verse is convicting to me because I'm like, do I view wisdom as like a big sister? What's my relationship with wisdom? That might sound strange to Christians, but like you have a relationship with the father, the son, the Holy Spirit, but there's such big emphasis on wisdom. This is a wisdom book. And we're even being told like wisdom is like a sister, like and onto a sister that's like and onto a she that she's screaming at the top of her lungs to seeing who listen.

Jethro Casie (16:18.126)
She's at the gates in Proverbs one, I believe, or two, wondering who's going to listen to her. And the question that the Lord's asking is like, will his people hearken on to wisdom? he first will or will his people forsake the commandments that he has given them? So I hope this bless you. This was a short study looking forward to Proverbs eight. And if you miss Proverbs five, six, chapter five or six, I have six up here for you guys to.

to tune in. So God bless and see you guys tomorrow.
