Voices of Boyle
Finally, after years of talking about bringing a podcast to Boyle, we’re live! This podcast is our way of documenting stories about Boyle and its people. So what motivated us to take this big leap into the unknown (it’s our first time recording audio and doing interviews!)? We were lucky enough to spend 7+ years travelling and, like the majority of people that live abroad, we came back to Boyle with a greater appreciation for our hometown, its people and its history. We love the idea of creating a space on the internet where people from all over the world can tune in to listen to stories about Boyle. Each show will feature a different guest and we hope to cover lots of topics ranging from the old fair days to current events that are happening in the town.

Ep 21---
We're chatting with Michael Devine this week! Michael grew up on Elphin Street, and he starts off our chat by talking about those very early days. We touch on his hideouts, hiding bows and arrows, and the very important train station. We talk about his mother, his friends, and his family. His school days are the next point of conversation, and Michael is so descriptive in telling us what those days were like. He talks about his teachers, the conditions, and what life was like for students back then.
Meeting his wife Marie through his love for tennis comes next, and it's a lovely story of "fate" and things turning out like they're supposed to. Settling in London and his work and family life then dominate the chat.
Boyle comes back into focus when Michael and Marie return home to renovate an old cottage that had been in his family for years. We talk about his involvement in the different organizations in the town and his love for Boyle.
Thanks to Michael for sharing his stories with us, and we hope you all enjoy this journey from Boyle to London and back again.
