Welcome to another edition of the Motorcycle Mayhem Radio Podcast, hosted by Johnny Rizzo, where we talk about everything motorcycle, from tips on safe riding, to apparel and accessories, to where the next events are, and everything in between. So, let's mount up and ride. Hey Johnny, where are we going this time?
SPEAKER_00The views and opinions expressed on this program are not necessarily those of this station, JVC Broadcasting Management, or its sponsors.
SPEAKER_06What's up, everybody? What's up, Irish Pat? Hey, Johnny, what's going on? How you doing, brother? Uh, wet. The weather is horrible today. I don't know what happened, man. The wind and the rain is just crazy out there today.
SPEAKER_12Let's be grateful, at least it's not snow.
SPEAKER_06Then we know what I saw snow for Friday. I don't know if that's real.
SPEAKER_12I hope it's not real. I hope it's not here.
SPEAKER_06No more snow. I mean, we're done. I went to Florida. Came back and you know. When I came back though, I will say.
SPEAKER_11Yes.
SPEAKER_06It was in the 80s when I came back. Yeah. 70s and 80s. I went down to Philadelphia and Baltimore. Yeah. It was 84 degrees one day. And then I came down, I came up one day to go to work, and it was like 30. I was like, what's going on here? I know. So that's the way March is, though, right? Yep. Winter does not want to go away. It does not want to go away, man. So it's just it I wish it would. Just goodbye. Yeah, you've been done.
SPEAKER_12You've made your impression.
SPEAKER_06So how you doing, Pat? It's been a while. Doing okay. Yeah, it's been a little bit. Yeah, right. I mean, we're doing our uh our FM show here, and uh we'll be doing our uh Facebook show after this. And it's good to be back into the studio. You know, I gotta tell you, going to Florida, I love going down there, but just you know, getting back into the swinging things back here.
SPEAKER_12A routine.
SPEAKER_06A routine. Sometimes it's so hard. You know what I'm saying? And uh I'd rather I'd rather be down there like uh like Dawn was saying. She's happy that she's in Florida. I wish I was there. I I literally went to Daytona for God, I was gone for almost eight days, and then I was in Port St. Lucie for uh maybe a whole day.
SPEAKER_12Did you take in a Met game?
SPEAKER_06What? As a matter of fact, when I was leaving, the Yankees were playing the Mets that day. Oh, that's cool. But you know what? With all this, you see this new baseball that's going on? This um this world baseball classic. It's awesome, man. I mean, I know it's only a couple of years old, right? But I'd rather watch that. So let me so I'm guessing now. So if you're playing in the world classic baseball right now, you're a great player. If you're playing if you're playing a spring training, uh, you're not that good. Am I right? I don't know. I don't know. Honestly, yeah. You know what's funny? A lot of these players, like I saw Aaron Judge, yeah, he got up and Austin Wells was the catcher. He wouldn't shake his hand. Did he not shake his hand? Did he not say hello? Yeah, we're at war right now. You're teammates, but not right now. We're not. I don't know. But I saw Soto. He was out there.
SPEAKER_12Soto's doing Soda's doing the job for the DR. Is he? He's really doing the job.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, we'll see if he does the job for the Mets. I don't think so.
SPEAKER_12Let's hope. Well, he had a good year last year. Yeah. But I mean, a lot of it, I think, you know, a lot of it had to do with uh Peter Lonzo, was his backup. I mean, I think that has you know has a lot to do with it. Probably a ton of it, yeah. I mean, because I mean, when and when he was with the Yankees, like I said, he had Judge.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Judge.
SPEAKER_12So I'm not saying that he's not a great player, and then he's not worth his m money. No one's worth that money, let's be honest. He ain't worth that much money come on now. He only, I don't disagree with no player's worth out.
SPEAKER_06And that would have been the greatest duo ever in baseball if you would have stayed with the Yankees. You know what I'm saying?
SPEAKER_12Yeah, and you know, but you could also make that argument if uh Alonso had stayed with the Mets.
SPEAKER_06Speaking about the Mets, right? I saw something funny. You follow TikTok at all? Not really. Well, on TikTok, they got these new guys out there, they're supposed to be time travelers. Right? And they're supposed to be putting these videos up like, you know, this guy went back to 1958 and he's walking around San Francisco and this guy went to the year 2030, you know what I mean? And so one guy, you know, it looks, you know, you know it's not real. But you like the concept, it's pretty cool. Like, you know.
SPEAKER_12Well, if you're in the year 2030, you would assume it's not real.
SPEAKER_06Right.
SPEAKER_12I'm I'm going out on a limb on that one.
SPEAKER_06Right. But, you know, and when you're watching these time travel uh videos, and and you know, and you know it's not real stuff. You know, you know it's not real. But they got something good going on there. You know what they it looks pretty cool though. Like, wow, this guy was back uh, you know, when Jesus was walking the ground, you see him, you see Jesus in the background, you see him walking around. But they got this one guy put up a video up of a stadium. Okay. Okay. So look at the stadium. The stadium is shot, it hasn't been taken care of in years. It was like the year 2070 or something like that.
SPEAKER_11Okay.
SPEAKER_06And then like the stadium, you know, it's f it flowing apart, blah, blah, blah. It was Shay. So I had to write on the guy saying, you know, you're looking like you had a good thing over there. But Shea was destroyed years and years ago.
SPEAKER_12So it's a move for 2070, yeah. Yeah. There is no Shay.
SPEAKER_06No Shay. So you're screwed up, buddy. You know? Yeah. If you have people out there that would believe in you, like me, right? I wasn't believing it, man. I'll tell you. I'll tell you right now, it was real looking though, I gotta tell you, really. But anyway, so uh motorcycle season is upon us. It's just about here on Long Island. I know Chris Beckins along on the bait's already busy, and you are. Of course. Right? And uh you got meetings going on and all kinds of stuff going on.
SPEAKER_12We got me, yeah. We had meetings going on last week. We got the uh Nassau meeting tomorrow. Right. So, and then uh we got the Ron Conkham and St. Patrick's Day parade Sunday.
SPEAKER_06Are you gonna be in it?
SPEAKER_12Uh I have no choice. I was volunteered. Oh, okay. Because of the Kawasaki. Oh, really? Because of the color of the Kawasaki.
SPEAKER_06The color because it's green. Did you like the uh logo I made for the Motorcycle Mayor, by the way?
SPEAKER_12I did like that. That looked really good. That was cool, right? That was very cool.
SPEAKER_06I got the AI stuff is scary, man. It is scary.
SPEAKER_12I mean, it's cool, but it's frightening in the future.
SPEAKER_06You know, it really put a lot of people out of business, you know. Like, you know, we got friends like Wayne Blast, who does what he does for a living, you know, and now here I am. I don't know nothing about nothing. And I made a logo that's out of this world. You know what I mean? Like, how did I make this? You know, this describe you want one. And this, add that, and this, add that. Ah, scroll here, scroll there. Boom. You got this beautiful logo. You're like, wow.
SPEAKER_12That's scary. You know, I've seen Wayne work too. I mean, he works. Wayne's great.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, he works hard.
SPEAKER_06I mean, he does a lot more than just logos, but he, you know, he's out there, he does his thing. He's fantastic what he does. He does a lot for motorcycle manager and the long island debate as well.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, he does, yeah, he does a lot for the community overall.
SPEAKER_06So the Long Island Bait's in full swing now. Now, is there like a certain date that comes with all right now it's full swing? Is it bike week? I know bike week opens up the doors for a lot of things.
SPEAKER_12Yes, it does. Um, well, we got coming up uh what is it, uh what is that? I think the third week the third Sunday in April. If I knew the exact date, I would tell you. That's gonna be the Riders of Fire.
SPEAKER_06Riders of Fire. They had that big uh blessing, right?
SPEAKER_12And the blessing of the bikes. It's uh, you know, it will be uh it will be Sunday morning. It will be at Applebee's, not this Sunday morning. Right, right. But in April. It's a third Sunday in April. If I had prepared a little bit better, plus we got the um I'll have the dates for you uh at the next break.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06We got Pastor Ski does his uh Easter Sunday.
SPEAKER_12Easter sunrise. I've done that.
SPEAKER_06Oh, that's a tough one.
SPEAKER_12You know, Pastor Ski is a tough one.
SPEAKER_06He does his show from here, from the studio. Yes. And he was talking about it like, uh, I'm not getting up at four o'clock in the morning. It's too cold for that. I'm sorry. I ain't doing it.
SPEAKER_12I did not give people credit. The only I did it last year, but I mean I went in the car. And the only reason I did it is because my wife was doing it. Right so she's moving around and just woke me up. It's like, you know what? I'm up. Might as well.
SPEAKER_06Let's go. Let's just do it. Let's just go. I mean, I would love to do that one. That's gonna be uh, you know, ever since I went to Italy, I don't talk about Italy much, but ever since ever since I went to Italy, I I kind of got a little more um holier, I should say. I'm more into spiritual. Spiritual, I should say. Because I I saw a lot of stuff that really, you know, Padre Pio as well, body we saw, you know, going through the holy doors. We did all these.
SPEAKER_12You get the Vatican there and all that.
SPEAKER_06Right, the Vatican, the basilicas everywhere that we went to, you know.
SPEAKER_12You're getting exposed to things that you wouldn't be exposed to. Exactly. Well, I actually could I don't know if that's fair, because I mean you see, but what you see over here is you see, like I said, you see the Catholic, you see the Christian, you see the Jewish temples, see the mosques. I mean, you get a variety, so there's not like one focus.
SPEAKER_06But you know what though? But in Italy, it's just so big. Like, you know, the basilica is the main part of the town.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_06There's churches built into this beside the mountains, it's just gorgeous stuff that you've never thought you'd see before. So, you know, I I I I do enjoy it a little bit more now, you know.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And uh talking to Pastor Ski, I would love to love to do that run if it was four o'clock in the afternoon. Yeah.
SPEAKER_12Or at least nine in the morning.
SPEAKER_06Oh, not even that's early, man. I don't understand. I love the backer community, I really do, but why is it if they're gonna be so damn early? All right, well, kick stands up, 9 30. Oh god. Before breakfast? No, not after breakfast. So long as I can get five o'clock in the morning to go to breakfast. Then go uh I don't know. That's tough.
SPEAKER_12You know what I mean? Usually I can't I can't tell you this for uh for the uh blessing. I mean, it's people arrive at 9 30. That's when we start registering, so you don't have to worry about uh getting up at 5.
SPEAKER_06Right. No, we'll see.
SPEAKER_12But you know what it is, I think, especially during the summer, what you want to do is you want to get up you get up early in the morning before the heat really came.
SPEAKER_06Well, the Sunday, okay, in the summer's different, all right? You can get up and just go. You know, you know, in the winter, like now, you gotta get up, put on wet warm pants, put on sweatshirts, put on gloves. It's a whole ordeal.
SPEAKER_12There's a reason why they call it gearing up. You're there for like about a good 10-15 minutes.
SPEAKER_06Right. You know, and then then you get on the road and you're still freezing your butt off. You know what I mean? But whatever.
SPEAKER_12Well, I have to sit and say, I was grateful this past Christmas, I got a uh heated hoodie.
SPEAKER_06I got a heated vest myself and heated gloves, which really did a good job. You know, they they got hot.
SPEAKER_12I have winter gloves, which are really good.
SPEAKER_06I haven't I don't need uh haven't needed heated gloves, but well, for me, the only thing that gets cold on my fingers, because I had a uh infection on one of my fingers, and in the winter time that's the first one that gets cold and it burns. That's the only thing that's really horrible about me with that. But uh you know, I'd rather ride in the summer, obviously. I mean, winter. I love the smell of the crisp air in the winter.
unknownRight.
SPEAKER_06I love that Thanksgiving, you get out on the bike, you smell that crisp air, you smell some fireplaces. It's weird.
SPEAKER_12That's that's oh yeah, no, you get the fireplace, that's a great smell.
SPEAKER_06That's a great feeling, man. I I love that alone right there, but you know, but we'll come back with more of that talk. And uh, we got a lot of stuff going on. The motorcycle season is now upon us, so check it out. I am Johnny Rizzo, I am Iris Pat. You listen to Motorcycle Mayhem Radio, so don't go anywhere. We'll be right back right after this.

SPEAKER_06All right, we are back live. You hear me wheezing, man? Yeah. I feel like I'm dying over here. So what's up? We are back on Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. I am Johnny Rizzo. I am with Irish Pat.
SPEAKER_12You better hope you're not dying because I'm not giving you mouth to mouth.
SPEAKER_06Oh, come on, man. Save me, Pat. No, I think I'll be alright. I think I'll be okay. I just got this cold. You know, it's been coming and going. Like, and it's like, it'll come, then I'll go to bed, I'll wake up feeling better the next day. Then I'll come back. Do you ever do NyQuil or anything? Any of that? Every now and then I do NyQuil. I love NyQuil because that puts you to sleep, man. That kicks my ass.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, if you're not, if you're sick and you just need to get some sleep, NyQuil does.
SPEAKER_06Nyil is great, man. It really is great. But you know, I've been feeling this coming on. I was up all night last night. Last night, I went to bed at a decent time. Because you know, Bella's in Florida, so I can do that while she's in Florida. Otherwise, she's up all night and keep me awake. So I went to bed and like you know, I couldn't sleep. You know, I got I got a power with my foot. For some reason, I don't know what it is, but for years now, I can't keep my my right foot flat on the bed, like if I'm laying sideways. Right. My right foot on the left side of the foot. I can't keep it flat on the bed. It's like someone's putting a knife through it and it goes all the way up to my knee. It's horrible. So I gotta find a right spot for my leg to go to sleep. I gotta put a pillow down if it's horrible, you know what I mean? Sometimes I can't find that spot and I'm up all night just torsing and turning. So last night I had that problem and this wheeze I had going on. So I was pretty much up until 4:30, and I finally fell asleep just to wake up at 7.20. You know what I mean? So, you know, hopefully I I uh get past this now. And Bell will be coming home on Wednesday. So, you know, I don't know.
SPEAKER_12We talked about it. You got one night of sleep, in other words.
SPEAKER_06I got one night of sleep basically. That was decent. Yeah. But you know what it is? I got home from uh Florida at 5 30 in the morning on uh Monday morning, last Monday. Yeah, and basically I just went to bed and woke up 45 minutes later and went to work. That was all I was yesterday, Sunday was my day to do nothing.
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06I didn't care how nice it was out, how it wasn't, I didn't care. I what I did Friday night is I bought a steak dinner. I bought a steak, I marinated it Friday night to cook it on Sunday. So all I had to do was look forward to me cooking my barbecue, my steak, right? On Sunday night. So I just kept it going. I didn't I didn't care. So I stayed in bed the entire day, Pat. The entire day. The entire day. The entire day and night, and next thing you know, it's like, you know, I I feel like I got all this rest, but I really didn't get rest. And next thing you know, I can't sleep now. Now I'm up all night, my foot and my this cough going on. But yeah, what are you gonna do? You know? What are you gonna do? But hopefully, um by the after tonight I'm feeling better.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, hopefully. Um, real quick, I just wanted to get back to what we were talking about before. Um, I got some dates for people uh for people, the uh blessing of the bikes. It's gonna be starting in Applebee's in Farmingville. Beautiful. It's um it's on uh the 19th. It's Sunday the 19th. Do you have time? Um I do have a time. It's uh starts registration starts at 10 a.m. Okay. To 12.45, cake stands go up at 1 p.m. It's a$20 donation for rider and passenger. Nice. So and then the following week is Long Island of Bates uh safety awareness run.
SPEAKER_06Is that the one at the um that's the one at uh H.
SPEAKER_12Lee Dennis's okay. So that's the following Sunday. Kickstands for that one go up at uh 12 o'clock. Registration starts at 9 a.m. Right. So Wow, again, 9 a.m.
SPEAKER_0610 a.m. 10 a.m.
SPEAKER_12Kill me. Well, like I said, the kickstands go up at 12. You could get up at the crack of 10 and make it down there.
SPEAKER_06That's true.
SPEAKER_12You know, so no one's telling you you have to be there at 9 a.m.
SPEAKER_06That's very true, yes.
SPEAKER_12So um it's two aim for that one, it's$20 a rider,$10 a passenger, and$15 if you want to for a walk-in. Okay. If you just want to sit there and donate, you know, donate to a bait.
SPEAKER_11Oh, that's cool.
SPEAKER_12So yeah, so those are gonna be the first two events coming up. And that's when we also give out our uh our bait book. Oh, okay. Yeah, that's when we give out the um the uh handbook where it's got all the dates, all our sponsors. Nice. So that's good.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, they have um for go back to the fire, the ride of the ride of the fire, they put on a great show. They that is a huge bike blessing they do. That is you guys. I did that years ago. I'd like to try to get to that one myself. And you know, it's great because they got they got food trucks in the parking lot, they got vendors, and if you don't want that, you got Applebee's.
SPEAKER_12So And you got McDonald's, it's right there.
SPEAKER_06And you got McDonald's right there, which is good for the coffee. McDonald's has good coffee. I will say that, yes.
SPEAKER_12But it's it's and I will sit and say, I'm well, we're hoping for good weather because I felt so bad for them uh last year. Was it bad?
SPEAKER_06Remember? Oh, the weather was horrible. What's it really?
SPEAKER_12It was drippy, it's like they didn't have they didn't have anywhere near the amount of people they had before the year before it was like sunny, it was beautiful, you had easily over 400 bikes. Really? I think last year, if you had like 90, that was a lot. Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06But you know what? It happens. You know what I mean? No, it does, unfortunately. In the motorcycle world, yeah. When you're in the motorcycle world, you're you can't control that because you want to have an event, and that's what we dealt with a lot with the bike nights. Because we put on a bike night and we'd be excited about it all day. Can't wait, can't wait. Then you're like, yeah, I get a call from Wayne. How do you look at the weather? And you look at the weather, like, oh, where'd this wake go from? So you have to cancel it, especially having the long on the bait part of you.
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06So you can't, you know, uh promote riding in the rain. So you gotta cancel it, and then it kind of turns beautiful out. And now you're in the wrong, and we're looking at you like, oh, what did you cancel for?
SPEAKER_12Because you have also liability. You also have the vendors. Right. Who take you know, it doesn't take them five minutes to set up or break down. I mean exactly. You know, and that's a lot of people don't get that. In the meantime, it's gorgeous. What'd you say? Well, who's stopping you from getting on your bike and going? No one's stopping you. No one's stopping you. So you can easily go down and get a couple of friends, they cancel the night, but let's all meet up there, especially whether it was Applebee's or TGI Fridays or whatever. Go out, you go out, you hang out, you meet out, you get a bike to eat. There you go. No one's stopping you.
SPEAKER_06I went to a bike night the other night, I gotta be honest with you. And this is a problem I I feel that's gonna be with this bike night. It was in Higgsville at that um that store that's there. Okay, yeah, I know what you're talking about. And I won't mention the name, but you know, they had a bike night, but it's more of the uh the rice rockets, I should say. And these guys weren't being cool. I g I I gotta be honest, I pulled up there and they were doing burnouts in this in this gas station parking lot that were just ripping it up. And people were scared to pull like to get gas. And they they pretty much took over the whole parking lot and the whole gas station.
SPEAKER_12And that's the problem. Because part of the problem is this is why they say youth is wasted on the young.
SPEAKER_06Right. Because they're young, they don't know yet. You know, and then the cops show up, and then they got a problem, and then the guy who owns the store who's having a bike night, which by the way, there were lots of people there.
SPEAKER_12Which is good. That's good. Yeah, very good.
SPEAKER_06I mean, great for his business, yes. Absolutely. But you have these guys doing that. Come on, we had that all bike night one time. We did a bike night at TGI Fridays, yeah. And it was a great bike night, and but a couple of the guys decided they want to go behind them TGI Fridays, start doing burnouts and all kinds of crazy stuff. That who got in trouble for it? Who heard about it? I did.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, no, because you go you go to the tour. Who's gonna hear about it? It's gonna be you, it's gonna be a bait. Right, you know, it's gonna be all the community. In the meantime, it's like we're the ones trying to these are the groups that we're trying to reach out to. Right. You know, it really is. That's why it's like um Sarah, who is uh who has her Facebook group who's gotten a like a pop great response out of there. Yeah, she's gonna be a good one. Lots of people. Yeah, she's got a big group. You know, she's trying to reach out to these kids because they're all sport because they're all sports sports bike riders. Right. Which hey, you know what, we all we both know. I mean, you ride what you ride.
SPEAKER_06Right, exactly.
SPEAKER_12But the thing is, you gotta be cool, man. You're young, you gotta learn. You know, that's what you gotta learn because you don't wanna never mind hurting hurting somebody else. You don't want to hurt yourself.
SPEAKER_06It's a catch-22 because in the motorcycle community, especially along Island Bay, they want to reach the younger riders. Absolutely. Motorcyclists have uh they're disappearing. I am I right? We need the younger generation to step up because even bike week, you know, it wasn't as crazy like it normally was. You know what I mean? But we can't have these young ones come in and start doing burnouts and being disrespectful to companies and stuff.
SPEAKER_12See, that's the big thing, is respect. More than any other community, the uh motorcycle community is big on respect.
SPEAKER_06Right. So, you know, you respect them, they respect you.
SPEAKER_12It's as simple as that. But and it's respect you gotta earn. It's not given automatically.
SPEAKER_06Absolutely. But you know, you know, if you're gonna go to a bike night, just enjoy the bike night. You don't gotta be doing burnouts and making wee, wee, wee, wee. I hate that. Oh my god. And what's gonna happen? The cops are gonna come, they're gonna shut down the bike night. The guy who's trying to, you know, draw up some business for his business is gonna get shut down and he's gonna be losing out, and then he's gonna get a bad rap, and that's gonna be that.
SPEAKER_12That's gonna be. It's gonna be a reflection on him.
SPEAKER_06In the meantime, it's like, come on. So, so stay right there, everybody. I'm Johnny Vizzo. I am with Irish Paper on Motorcycle Man Radio. Check us out on Facebook, like and follow us on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Rumble. We're on Rumble now.

SPEAKER_06Alright, we are back on Motorcycle Man Radio. I am Johnny Rizzo with Irish Pat, and we are hanging out in the studio. Studio A in Comac, New York. Where's Studio B? Uh that's in Queens. That's in Queens. That's the other studio I do from the house. So but anyway, so yeah, so we got a lot of stuff starting in.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, it's finally starting up, so that's good.
SPEAKER_06Motorcycle, motorcycles are out there, guys, so be careful, man. Listen for the raw, man. Let's look out for motorcycles. Just don't make that left without checking twice.
SPEAKER_12I was gonna say, if you're on the bike, keep your head on the swivel. You gotta. I mean, get ready because we got to start hearing some of the same old cliche things, and there's a reason why they're cliche, because they're true.
SPEAKER_06That's right. You guys, when you're on a motorcycle, you have to just respect it, first of all. Second of all, my eyes, when I'm riding, I'm back and forth. Boom, boom, boom, boom. It has to be. Because if you gotta pay attention, if you're not, you could be that person.
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I've seen a guy one time we were friends with, and we were all hanging out in a bar one night, and we left the bar. He got on his bike with his girlfriend on the back and just shot straight down the road and didn't care. And I was like, dude, that was so uncool. You know what I mean? Anybody can make a left or front of your right. You went, you went so fast down this road that no one even knew you were coming.
SPEAKER_12So I get on the bike now. The first thing I do, it's like I said, my head is spinning before I even get out of the parking lot.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's what happens. You know, especially when you're like doing a bike week, like Daytona, that's that that's amateur week, man.
SPEAKER_12Oh, of course.
SPEAKER_06Because so many people get out there for the first time, like on a bike. I got a bike, I can ride a bike. I want to go to Daytona, and they get to Daytona, and they have no idea how to ride with other bikers.
SPEAKER_12And the one thing that we say, especially at a bait, is practice, practice, practice. Yes. Matter of fact, what is it? I think uh um guy named Mark. I forget his last name, so I apologize to you, Mark. He's got a uh Facebook page called the uh Ronconkama uh parking lot rats. Okay. He's I think the last Sunday in March, he's got a he's got a uh date set up where we just go kind of go into the uh Ronconkama parking lot, set up some cones, and everyone's just practicing.
SPEAKER_06That's awesome. Yeah, I mean, Chris invited me to that so many times, but again, it's like, yeah, we'll be there at 7 a.m. I'm like, we're gonna see me there at 7 a.m. I can practice that at 4 p.m. and it'll be the same thing.
SPEAKER_12So I mean, it's like I said, you always especially when you're coming off after you've been off the bike for a couple of weeks, a couple of months, honestly. It's like you need to sit and get back into that routine.
SPEAKER_06Right, right. So we got a new sponsor called Hot Ass Seats. So, you know, if you're doing some long distance riding, man, you want to go to hot. I'm sorry, it's not hot ass seats, it's wild ass seats. Right? So go to wild-ass seats.net. At least you get the psychoparty that right. That's true. Uh go get it and uh go on a long-distant ride. Yeah, we had that guy that was on the show. He did a hundred um a hundred thousand miles and thirty days or something.
SPEAKER_12It was something like that, yeah.
SPEAKER_06He was on the show, he actually was representing them.
SPEAKER_12So that's I can't imagine doing that. Like, you know, it's like a thousand miles a day for 30 days.
SPEAKER_06Oh my god, a thousand miles a day for 30 days.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, they get a hundred thousand miles off.
SPEAKER_06I couldn't do that.
SPEAKER_12That doesn't I can't do the thousand miles a day for that.
SPEAKER_06I mean, you know, especially when you first start start writing it out, like uh, you look down there, I only did it like 87 miles. Oh, you gotta keep going, you know? Yeah, traffic, that's gonna be the worst. You can't you can't do that a thousand miles a day in New York or New Jersey. That's gotta be in the mid the Midwest somewhere.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, I saw somebody uh uh who has a YouTube channel, you know, kind of like us, and she did the thousand miles and she started out of Georgia and then ended in Florida. Okay, that makes sense. But you got the room out there.
SPEAKER_06Well, there you go. You have the room. And without the room, you can uh go far.
SPEAKER_12I mean, Long Island, it's not bad riding. I mean, you can't say it. It's just it's an island. You're limited in where you can go.
SPEAKER_06I gotta I gotta correct myself. It's wild slashass.com. That's all it is. Go to wilddashass.com, right? Tell them you heard about it on motorcycle mayhem radio, right? They sell these seat cushions. Thing is, the guy that owns the company used to work for a wheelchair company. So we got some great ideas on how to make these cushions. And these cushions are, I mean, you can use it for even playing the drums. Like put them on your drum stool. Yeah. You know what I mean? So definitely go to check out wild-ass.com. All right. You'll see their setup. They got amazing stuff there. Jump on board with them. And also, we got Michael Dothelmetts back. That's good. So go to Michael Dothelmetts and uh get your helmet today. Mentioned mayhem to them as well. So we'll be working on a bunch of stuff with them coming in.
SPEAKER_12And they'll charge you another$20.
SPEAKER_06They'll charge you another$20.
SPEAKER_12Because you heard it from Johnny. That's what happened.
SPEAKER_06So if I didn't make a mistake on this show, Irish Pat, it wouldn't be Motorcycle Mayhem.
SPEAKER_12It's you put the mayhem in the motorcycle mayhem.
SPEAKER_06That's right. I put I put the mayhem, the mess into it.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So anyway. But uh yeah, so um back to the Daytona, real quick, it was fantastic. A lot of fun.
SPEAKER_12Because it had to be it had to be fun.
SPEAKER_06It is fun, you know.
SPEAKER_12Well, how is it um now that you've been going like year after year after year?
SPEAKER_06Honestly, it's uh a lot of the same stuff. You know what I mean? And you know, you find yourself going to the same bars every year because the bands that you like it playing there.
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06So you find yourself going to the same places that you want to venture out. But a time goes by so fast when you're in Daytona, it's like, all right, today's uh it's Monday, we're here to Friday. We're gonna go to do dinner here, we're gonna go here, we're gonna go there. Next thing you know, it's Thursday, and we didn't do nothing yet. Because we were going, we're going bar hopping to all the bands we want to see.
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06And that that's one problem that we have. You know what I mean? So maybe that's a good problem because you're you're having a lot of fun.
SPEAKER_12Well, that's right.
SPEAKER_06There are certain bars that you want to go to if you've never been to Daytona, certain places that you have to check out, with the Iron Horse is one, the Broken Spoke, uh the Booth Hill Saloon, you know, there's places that you want to, you know, Main Street.
SPEAKER_12Tradition. You want you want to hit your traditional spot, especially if you haven't been there.
SPEAKER_06Right. So you want to go check out Main Street, Route 1, you want to check out the uh racetrack, you know what I mean? Excuse me, they got a lot of um vendors everywhere. The Harley dealer, but you know, if you're gonna do these places, you gotta know. Like, I've been going there so long now. I've been going there since 2011.
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06And I didn't miss anything. I mean, it's either Bike Toberfest and Bike Week, or just Bike Toberfest, or just bike week, but every year I don't think I missed any. Right?
SPEAKER_11Right.
SPEAKER_06So you want to know when to go to this place. Like, you're not gonna go to the hard dealer on a Friday night or Saturday night. Because that's like they have they have concerts down there.
SPEAKER_12And that's the tourist-y thing.
SPEAKER_06Right. You don't want to go down there on the Iowa. Maybe during the week you take a ride down there. Go check out Main Street during the week, you know what I mean? Because there's sometimes where it could take you an hour to get down Main Street.
SPEAKER_12You know what I've heard? I've heard a lot of people, like, for example, Tale of the Dragon. Right. They sit and say, if you want to like do it, if you're as a biker, you want to do it, best time to do it is like on a Tuesday or Wednesday during the week. Right. When the roads, when the roads aren't as full as well. Well, think about it.
SPEAKER_06If you go there on a weekend, there's probably some amateurs there to start writing them. They want to do the Tale of the Dragon, and you get stuck behind these guys, and you know, there'll be a danger for you too. So if you get out there on a Monday or Tuesday, where then most people aren't out there yet, you can zip through it. But you haven't driven a road until you've driven your mafia coast. I'll tell you that much. Not to Italy again, but of course. I don't know where it comes from. You know, it just pops out of somewhere. I can't imagine. Right? But um that's the thing, you know, with these bike weeks though, um, definitely check out Daytona. But again, I go every year because that's like the biggest one that's out there. Sturges I haven't got to yet because I don't have time. I gotta get out there because we're doing always doing so many other events that it comes to Sturgis, like I ain't gonna time off.
SPEAKER_12And especially the amount of money you have to save for Sturgis, too.
SPEAKER_06It's a lot of money, you know. A lot of money. Well, I do want to shout out the Tropical Manor. We in uh Louis State at the Tropical Manor on A1A in Daytona Beach. It's a beautiful hotel right on the uh beach. And uh you got plenty of parking for the bikes. They can even wash your bike. They got a beautiful pool back there. You know, the only thing they're lacking is a bar. They don't have a bar. But that's all right. You know, there's a bar right next door. There's bars everywhere.
SPEAKER_12I was gonna say Daytona Daytona, I would assume, special on bike week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, especially special on bike week. And if you're gonna go to a bike week, again, the cops aren't playing, man. They're not there to entertain you, they're there to keep it straight, man. They're there to keep you in line. So you got these people out there that want to rev their motors and act like, you know, real, you know. And it wouldn't be bad, but they're telling they tell you in advance.
SPEAKER_12Like on Long Island, like a perfect example was I would say uh Memorial Day weekend. You know, they tell you in advance, even on TV, the cops are gonna be out this weekend, and then you still hear like about 150 to 200 arrests for D-Weeds.
SPEAKER_06I watched a guy light up his back tire on Main Street right in front of the fucking cop. And the guy had nowhere to go. So the cop is walked on to him, took his keys, got the ignition. Get out of here.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_06You're gonna go, you're gonna get a ticket or you're gonna go to jail, whatever it is. Pick one. And you know what? Most likely you're drinking, you know. One time I was at Key West, right? And I was with my ex-wife and uh we're on the bike, and she's like, you know, watch you drinking by all the cops. So we're gonna start talking to a cop, we're hanging out talking to a cop, and I asked the cop, you must get a lot of DBs down here, huh? He goes, uh, you have a Key West. Everyone's drunk. But if you act, you know, bad, I'm gonna act bad. You know what I mean? If you're gonna be crazy, I'm gonna bite right there to bust you. If you I don't care how much you have to drink, if you're riding your bike nice and calm, not doing anything wrong, I'm not gonna play over. If I see you doing wheelers and burnouts, yeah, I'm gonna nail you.
SPEAKER_12So again, it comes down to respect. Exactly. That's all that's right back to it.
SPEAKER_06So listen, guys, I am Johnny Rujan with Irish Pat, man. Hey, you guys. If you want to get a hold of us, man, email me at motorcycle man radio show at gmail.com. If you got a question, you want to be a guest on the show, let me know. So uh stay right there, and we'll be right back.
SPEAKER_03Right after this.
SPEAKER_06Boom.

SPEAKER_02I appreciate you, Johnny. And I just want to say you can always find me out there at ridingcouncil.com, R-I-D-I-N-G-C-O-U-N-S-E-L.com. And you I have I also I have a little um you know something something on YouTube also. So when you're not listening to Motorcycle Mayhem, you can always go over and watch a couple episodes that I have on YouTube. But uh we got Valentine's Day coming up, and I want to make sure that everybody is safe out there. A lot of calls that I get don't really have to do with accidents, it has to do with criminal law, and let me tell you why. Because Valentine's Day and motorcycles actually go together. It's a very sensual thing to ride with your girl on the back, and you know, sometimes you get a little frisky. And especially in the South, believe it or not, and I've heard in Florida, these tickets are going up, you're gonna get caught for indecent exposure and lewd and lascivious behavior. Okay, those those are real things. So when you're riding along on Valentine's Day and you got your girl on the back, do the right thing. You know, feel each other, be with each other, but do the right thing and ride safe. Nice.
SPEAKER_06That was a legal minute with running council.com.
SPEAKER_02That was the special Valentine's Day version.
SPEAKER_06Alright, we are back on Motorcycle Man Radio. I am Johnny Rizzo. I am with Irish Pat. We're chilling in the studio. Uh we're excited that bike season's right around the corner now.
SPEAKER_12Yep, and before you know it, it's gonna be October.
SPEAKER_06You know what? You ain't kidding, and that'll be uh for rock and roll for a cure. Right there. 17th annual motorcycle run is gonna be October 4th this year, Pat. At the same place at the uh American Legions in Massapiqua. But we'll have all that information for you as we get closer. Right now, we're still building it up again like we did last year. We had plenty of food trucks.
SPEAKER_12The food trucks. Oh, the event was awesome.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we had so many vendors, great bands. It was a quite a day, right? It was And how many bikes did we have? And we had hundreds. Someone said we had 1,400.
SPEAKER_12I don't I yeah, that seemed like a lot. I'll take it. I'll take it. But I mean it were definitely hundreds.
SPEAKER_06But when I went out to the, I did walk out to the curb and look and I saw bikes for as far as I could see. I was like, well, maybe there is 1,400 motorcycles here. So it was a big, big, great day, all for a great cause. Well, yeah, that's because you know what, Pat, we all know somebody out there that is dealing with or dealt with, or even had known somebody that passed away from breast cancer.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, no, it's horrible.
SPEAKER_06It's in all our lives. I don't care who you are. I I can name, geez, I can name about seven, eight people I know that all had it. Yeah, people close to you. Including my mother. So, you know? So Dawn was Dawn is a three-time breast cancer survivor.
SPEAKER_12That's impressive.
SPEAKER_06And she's out there, you know, whatever she can do to help other patients, you know, because she understood what she went through. So she took that knowledge and and made Rock and Roll for a Cure. Where every other Saturday, we would go out, or she would go out, and deliver food. And then when I met with her, I got together with her, I told her, There's gonna be a day, well, you'll never do this by yourself again. I'll be with you. And I've been there ever since with her. So well, my job is I basically go to Stopping Shop in the morning.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And sometimes they they load my pickup truck up back in the seat inside.
SPEAKER_11That's good.
SPEAKER_06Front seat, back seat, bed, everything. So we load up my pickup truck, and I go to the pantry where they give us food, and we have Whole Foods that come in. And sometimes people just bring donations to them with them, you know what I mean? So we we put together all these bags, you know, depending on how many patients we have. Some of them get two bags, some of them get three. Some, you know what I mean? Uh depending on the size of the family, because you know, she don't just take care of the patient, it's about the family. Come Christmas time, she'll go out and go Christmas shopping for the family, too. You know what I mean? That everyone gets turkeys or whatever they want for Thanksgiving. You know, Valentine's Day, they all get uh flowers. She does a great job with this, and you know, um she wants everybody to feel you know special and you know taken care of.
SPEAKER_12That you matter, that you're just not a number.
SPEAKER_06Right, yeah, exactly. So she'll go out of her way, it doesn't matter if it's snowing out, if it's raining out, if it's 110 degrees out, trust me, I know because I've been through all three of them. Right? So rocking the rough for a cure is something very special and you know it's close to my heart and a lot of people out there. So when she does the most like a one, a lot of people come show up because all the proceeds all go to the patients. All of it. 100% and all the food that she gets, if the pantry or stop and shop or Whole Foods don't have something that week, she will go out and buy it and bring it in. You know what I'm saying? So every dime, every penny, every dollar all counts. It all counts. All goes to a great cause with rock and roll for a cure. So if you don't want to go on the motorcycle one time, if you can't go, you go to rock and roll for a cure.org and hit that donate button right there. Boom.
SPEAKER_12And it doesn't matter how much. It really doesn't.
SPEAKER_06It can be 50 cents. It all it all helps.
SPEAKER_12It matters yeah, it adds up. It matters.
SPEAKER_06It all matters, you know? And uh it's it's in a great organization, and she got great people working with her, and you know, she got her volunteers, and they go out every other week, and no one complains. They just do what they gotta do.
SPEAKER_12So and the best part, they allow Kawasaki's.
SPEAKER_06Sometimes. And that leads me to my next fundraiser. It's called the Johnny, uh, feed the Johnny Rizzo Foundation.
unknownRight?
SPEAKER_06Because I can see my ribs right now.
SPEAKER_12Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I know. Yeah, in a bag on the shelf. Oh, well. Gotta do what you gotta do. Oh my god, I got so much phlegm in my throat right now.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm sick. Right after the show, I'm gonna go home and go to bed. And I'm gonna be done for the night, Pat.
SPEAKER_11There you go.
SPEAKER_06So, you know. But anyway, uh I got an album coming out, Pat. Asie's out!
SPEAKER_12Congratulations.
SPEAKER_06Uh, it's just so funny how my band, back from 1991, we started, recorded an album in 92, 93. We never, you know, it just sat with us. We just it was on CD, baby. That was basically it. To a record company, heard it recently, and now we're signed. We're a sign band.
SPEAKER_11Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And now if you go to FNARecords.net and you search new releases, Last Roll of the Dice, Arrival, the name of the band, you can find our album. It's only$14.95. And they're sending us these CDs to autograph. There's t-shirts involved. I'm like, what happened? What happened here? All kinds of great stuff involved. I'm like, why?
SPEAKER_12Johnny Rizzo, the rock star.
SPEAKER_06The rock star. No, it's so funny, man. Your whole life.
SPEAKER_12I am in the presence of greatness right now.
SPEAKER_06You are in the presence of greatness. I'm the most famous person behind this desk right now. And with that, and seven dollars, I can take the train to the city. But it's a cool concept, man. Just to know that my my stuff is out.
SPEAKER_12Oh no, that's gotta feel so good.
SPEAKER_06It does feel good. It's a cool concept. You know, even though we had that CD out, but it wasn't out.
SPEAKER_12Right.
SPEAKER_06It was our CD, baby, or whatever. Now it's like being played on radio stations across the country.
SPEAKER_12No, what's gotta be cool.
SPEAKER_06It is cool. You know, we already sold over 200 copies already. So let's sell 200,000 copies so I don't have to work anymore. You know what I mean? I'll just do radio, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_12That would be nice.
SPEAKER_06So when I was a kid growing up, man, I always wanted to be like a drummer in a band out in California, blah, blah, blah. Then became a radio host. You know what I mean? Like what happened? Back to the drummer again. So I don't know. Maybe there'd be a show, Pat. I don't know. That would be cool.
unknownYes.
SPEAKER_06If the band got back together for a show, one show somewhere.
SPEAKER_12That would be just to say you did it. Yeah. That would no, that would definitely be cool.
SPEAKER_06Sell the album, you know?
SPEAKER_12Combine uh combine do a uh night where you combine the band with the radio show.
SPEAKER_06That would be true. I have one scene, I have the microphone set up behind the drums. There you go. Watch up, that would be cool. That would be cool. But you never know, you might see the band play out one day somewhere. We already got uh we can play in Daytona if we'd like. Oh, that's good. That would be cool. That would be to be able to play drums in Daytona Beach for Bike Week. That would be cool.
SPEAKER_12That would be cool. I don't know. This way this way you could be the second coming of Jasmine King.
SPEAKER_06There you go. So hey, let's shout out uh Fat Boy Burrito, Pat.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, oh we gotta shout out Fat Boys.
SPEAKER_06Fat Boys Burrito feeds us every Monday night, every Wednesday we we get food for Fat Boys Burrito. They got the best burritos, they got enchiladas, they got uh quesadillas, the rice balls, chicken, steak, whatever you want. And banadas. Empanadas, right?
SPEAKER_12And let's not forget the breakfast.
SPEAKER_06No, they're like footballs, they're burritos, they're footballs.
SPEAKER_12I will always remember when they came in. That thing was like I can't even describe how big this thing was.
SPEAKER_06Go to fatboysburrito.com and order your food uh today. I mean, they got food trucks and naked. So check that out, man. I mean, are we having a barbecue this summer? You got the hot dogs and the hammers. You know what? Let's get some tacos going too. Let's get some tacos.
SPEAKER_12You know, you got a couple of friends, you're watching a baseball game over the weekend.
SPEAKER_06That's right.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, well, hopefully, it didn't happen last day, did it?
SPEAKER_06Well, I'm not worried about it. But it happened in the 2000 World Series. I can tell you that much.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, no, it's not. Well, that's a case where the uh Mets definitely overachieved. Yes. Not even a question. Absolutely. After looking at it, it definitely was like more of a case they were just happy to be there where the Yankees were the Yankees at the time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I think it's fun watching this baseball stuff going on right now. And the seasons are going to start like uh what does the season start? April 1st? Yeah, like two weeks. Well, so I guess this is spring training for some of these guys.
SPEAKER_12I mean, I thought I look at this tournament. It's almost like maybe I'm wrong because I just can't me personally, I can't get into it. I look at it as a glorified spring training.
SPEAKER_06That's what I think too. But with a with a World Series at the end.
SPEAKER_12Yeah, there is some kind of you do get some kind of trophy or championship.
SPEAKER_06Do they get some? Hey, well, it's all worth it. I mean, these are countries playing against countries. Well, that's it. The way war should be, right?
SPEAKER_12Well, that well, that's what it is. It's countries versus countries, so you're putting some meaning behind it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, exactly. Even though you might we might be uh teammates on this team, but on that team, we're not. You know, we're going up against each other like middle fashion.
SPEAKER_12So I don't like it. Like I said, Italy's been making noise because of the. No, I love that.
SPEAKER_06You see the cappuccino machines in the dugout? That's great. That's awesome. I love that.
SPEAKER_12I personally think Major League Baseball needs to do that for all bring out the cappuccino machines.
SPEAKER_06That's right. So, guys, I am Johnny Ridgeon with Iris Pat. Listen to the Motorcycle Mayor Radio. Check us out everywhere Facebook, YouTube, Instagram. Like us, follow us, subscribe, all that good stuff. And we'll see you next week, okay? We're out of here, Pat. Good night, everybody. Good night, everyone.
