Bikes For Breast Cancer

One charity ride can feel like a party from the outside, but once you hear what it funds, it lands in your chest. Bella is back in the studio as a three-time breast cancer survivor and the force behind Rockin’ The Road For A Cure, and we talk through what the 16th annual motorcycle run really does for people who are fighting cancer right now. From a sea of bikes to nonstop volunteers, the goal is clear: turn community energy into breast cancer support that shows up in everyday life.
We break down the practical side of the mission, including help getting free mammograms for underinsured people, plus wellness and support services like housekeeping, wigs, prostheses, lymphedema sleeves, massage, and acupuncture. We also talk about food deliveries for dozens of families and the very real “financial toxicity” that comes with treatment. There’s a great story about a last-minute donated guitar signed by legendary players that becomes a live auction fundraiser, and why these details matter when you’re trying to keep services free.
Then the conversation opens up to the broader biker calendar: Daytona BikeToberfest, local toy runs, food drives, and how riders and musicians keep showing up for causes that need muscle and heart. We get into motorcycle safety, distracted drivers, and why so many riders believe loud pipes save lives, especially with changing laws in New York. Bella also shares her show “Double D Is Turning A Negative Into A Positive,” built to give cancer patients and caregivers real tips and hope from people who’ve lived it.
If this hits home, subscribe, share the episode with a friend who rides or someone who needs support, and leave us a review so more people can find the conversation.

Studio Catch-Up And Rockavaca
SPEAKER_05What's up, everybody? What's up, Bellatin Border? What's going on, Johnny? How are you doing? How are you doing? I'm doing good. I'm glad to see you back on the show. It's been a while. I mean, you did a little segment with us last week at the Punishes uh Clubhouse that we did. Yes, I did. But now I'm glad to see you back in the studio hanging out. You got a nice drink with you there. I got a nice drink. We're hanging out. We're doing this.
SPEAKER_03What are you drinking? I am drinking a baby breeze.
SPEAKER_05A baby breeze.
SPEAKER_03With Rock of Vaca.
SPEAKER_05Raka vodka is in the Baby Breeze, everybody. Yes. If you guys haven't tried rock vodka, go check it out, man. Rock of vodka. How do you spell it? R-A-C-A-V-A-K-A. I'm glad you got it, man. Raka vodka.com. Check them out, man. And it's made from grapes. Yes, I used to I used to say it's made by grapes, and everyone used to make fun of me. I have little grapes that are making a vodka, you know? It's made from grapes. Grapes.
SPEAKER_03Yes. From Spain. From Spain, always.
SPEAKER_05And uh it's not not like a potato.
SPEAKER_03But it's tasty. So even just doing a shot of it.
SPEAKER_05It is good. It is good. I was I drank a glass the other day just uh on the rocks. I had some rock and vodka on the rocks is really good. And they got the ready to drink hands too, which is amazing.
SPEAKER_03Yes.
Breast Cancer Awareness And The Big Ride
SPEAKER_05They have these special flavors. I I don't know what they are, but they are they're an amazing flavor. Go to rock and vaca.com, guys, and you hit the little map and shows you little bottles. And those little bottles are where they sell them. Yeah. Check it out, man. Check out Rock and Vaca. That's right. So Bella's back with us. And it's a very special month for Bella because Bella is a three-time breast cancer survivor. And this is uh breast cancer awareness month.
SPEAKER_03Yes, it is. Wear your pink this month to remind everybody to get your Tata check. That's right.
SPEAKER_05And we really haven't had her on the show uh this month because all the craziness she had is she does a major motorcycle run every year. And Word says, we hear that we had over 1200 bikes out the run this year. I don't know. I hope that's what it is. I mean, from what I when I saw Bella, I went out to the street, I looked to the right, as far as I can see, I looked to the left, as far as I can see it was motorcycles. So I think it could be 1,200 bikes, I'm gonna guess.
Raffles And The Signed Guitar Auction
SPEAKER_03We had a lot. We had more than we ever had. And um I'm very grateful for everyone that came to Rockin' the Road for a Cure 16th Annual Motorcycle Run for Breast Cancer. It's because of everyone out there that supports our mission of helping people who are going through breast cancer um with free wellness and support services that we're able to do what we do for those people. And um it means a lot to me for all that came and participated in the run, everyone that helped volunteer for the run, uh, my board, my volunteers that you know worked endlessly before the event, including Johnny. Oh motorcycle mayhem radio.
SPEAKER_05It was it was crazy. You know, coming coming into the house, you couldn't walk anywhere. You have raffles everywhere. And I gotta tell you something, guys. When she does an event, she don't just get raffles. She gets raffles. I mean, you get like top of the line stuff. Some of this stuff is worth over$100,$200.
SPEAKER_03Some was over$400. We had TV. We had a lottery board slash gift card board that was worth$500.
SPEAKER_05Louis Vuitton.
SPEAKER_03We had um we had a guitar. You know what a good picture we had a guitar signed by um let's see. It was uh the from Jimmy Weir Weeder, who is from the you know, played with the band, Helm's Midnight and Ramble Bands, um, from the Wheeder band. Um guitarist from uh Chris Zulum from Zoom Zulum Fear itself, John Jargison, um, who's the Desert Rose band and Elton Johns guitarist. Guthrie Trapp was the solo session guitarist, uh Red Volkart from Texas Session Guitarist, Larry Campbell, Bob Dylan and Midnight Ramble, he performed with or played with, and John Sebastian, welcome back Carter. Welcome back. Do you remember that? Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back in the day. Wait, one more time, Ella.
SPEAKER_04Welcome back, welcome back, welcome back!
SPEAKER_03And then uh also, let's see, um also wrote the songs for Daydreamer's Summer in the City and Do You Believe in Magic? Wow.
SPEAKER_04Do you believe in magic?
SPEAKER_03I can't say and then let's see, we had Johnny Hyland, who signed the guitar, a national session guitarist, Joel Harrison, solo show promoter, John Harrington from Steely Dan. Steely Dan, wow. Yes. Greg Koch, solo guitarist, Jim Campo Long Long Go, solo guitarist, uh G. E. Smith, Saturday Night Live, and Hall and Oats. Wow, that's cool. So we had all these people who signed this guitar.
SPEAKER_05Wait a second. If you look at the guitar, now what makes the guitar worth even more money is Johnny Razor from Motorcycle Man Radio touched the guitar. So his fingerprints are on the guitar as well. Wow. So go ahead and start Yes.
SPEAKER_03So we did. We did a live auction on this guitar. And uh it went it went well. It went well. It went for uh about a thousand dollars that you know brought in for the organization. Um it was something that we did get literally donated to us the night before the run. The day before the run.
SPEAKER_05And that was that was a nightmare alone to get thought.
SPEAKER_03If I had more time to promote it, we probably would have did a little bit better uh as far as what was brought in, but I didn't have much time to promote it on our social media pages and um really it probably is worth a bit more. Um, but I am so grateful for you know all the people that, you know, put this together up in Woodstock, New York, who, you know, made this happen. Um, you know, because if it wasn't for um Jimmy Weeder's good friend Jerry, um who, you know, knew a rock in the road for a cure, and um, you know, actually picked up the Squire guitar to have people sign it with a hard case, by the way.
SPEAKER_05That's awesome, man. That's awesome.
Free Mammograms And Wellness Support
SPEAKER_03And um it was at the Les Paul's uh there was a conference where, you know, all different guitarists were there performing and um and people came for it was a two-day event and they passed it around and all these wonderful people signed it to help raise money for breast cancer, you know, and breast cancer awareness for rock and the road, so we could continue again providing our free services that we provide. We help people get free mammograms that are underinsured, we help people get housekeeping if they need wigs, um, prosthesis, um lymphedema sleeves, massage, acupuncture. Um, there's so many things we help bring food. We bring food every other week to about twenty eight to thirty families from people who have cancer. Fantastic. Um, and we have a great team, I call the dream team, uh volunteers who do this every other week. We um deliver food to help, you know, substitute with other expenses than you know that you're hit with financial toxicity or some that did not have it from the very beginning that could use food. And again, thank you to everybody who came to this event, who donated a raffle, who, you know, helped in any way that they could help, uh appreciated people that just, you know, came and rode um at the event, all our motorcyclists who came and our passengers that came. And people that just came and then our bands, you know. Oh yeah. Every year I'm thankful I'm a musician. I play drums for Mistress of Evil, and you know, the whole um world of musicians are not only the bikers, but many musicians are very given as well, and always step up to the plate when it comes to a charity. Um, most of the people that I know, uh musician friends that I have or or even acquaintances, um, just in general, are very given people and you know, they're willing to donate their time and perform, you know, show their talents. Sure. And um for this cause, and I really want to thank Crisis, uh, a band that usually comes every year. They do like a lot of different classic rock music. They're a six-piece band um here in New York. Um, also, my members are Mistress of Evil, who performed at the event, um, the um GTB band as well. Um, and E3. E3 also that performs.
SPEAKER_05One of my bike night bands, yep, one of my bike night bands. E three.
SPEAKER_03So thank you guys and girls. Um, you know, I'm happy. And we had some good girl representation there. Yeah. You know, I mean, not only for my band, I have Diane, our lead singer, and Elisa on lead guitar, but on the last band, um, E3, Melanie played bass guitar for their band. So we had some women representing, which was also oh, and in the first band, we had Carol Palacino, also one of the singers of Crisis.
SPEAKER_05I got one of the videos that I um from from that day in the background they're playing. You hear her voice, man, like, holy shit, man, she's melting it out.
SPEAKER_03Yes, oh and we had someone come up and sing the Star Spangled Banner. Oh, yes.
SPEAKER_05Uh I'm not sure who it was, but we'll announce that next week. She was awesome, though? Yes.
SPEAKER_03Um, so thank you, everybody, and and our Legion riders and the American Legion post-1066, all those women and men stepped up to help us as well. The Punishers as well of Long Island, uh, New York, um, also the um Alliance uh MC Club who stepped up and helped us um again, and then the Independent Riders of Queens. Um, thank you to all you guys who stepped up to volunteer. My son Tyler Frey and all his friends that have been volunteering every year since they're young.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, thank God for them. We'll get to that story when we come back from break.
SPEAKER_03They all got muscles, you know, they're young.
SPEAKER_10So anyway, um let's go on and play some music on your death.
SPEAKER_07Where are we going? Are we going to bother to get? Where is the feeling?
SPEAKER_05Alright, we are back on Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. I am Johnny Richard. I am with Bell and Tim Ball. We're hanging out here. We were discussing the run that we did last two weeks ago, actually. Yeah, it's two weeks already. Fast time is going by. You realize we were in Italy over four months ago? Yeah. Can you fucking imagine that? I know. God, we gotta go back.
SPEAKER_03And we're here busting our butt for this motorcycle run. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05And not only is it breast cancer awareness month, but it's also Italian Heritage Month as well.
SPEAKER_03That's right, it is. It is Italian Heritage Month, um, which is here celebrated in the States, uh, Columbus Day and also Indigenous Day as well.
SPEAKER_05Right.
SPEAKER_03Um, so uh I'm Italian, I'm proud of it. I'm Italian, I've been learning my Italian a little bit. And uh so and um I also respect um the um people who were here before Columbus came here. Absolutely. And um, you know, wanna give a shout out to those indigenous people that are here and and and their ancestors as well. Um and uh we we didn't do much for uh Columbus Day. We had a very rainy day. Yeah, we had a bad day. We had a storm that was Northeaster. Yeah.
SPEAKER_05It was great. I love it. I love the Northeaster's made of hurricane. I'm gonna go for a good hurricane.
SPEAKER_03I mean it just here in New York it was the weather on Sunday and Monday were not not good. Not fun. And so a lot of the parades got cancelled and and events got canceled. That happens.
The Trailer Mishap Nightmare
SPEAKER_05That happens, yeah. But I'm going back to your run real quick, and uh the story I'm gonna tell is. So the situation is, you know, I also am a truck driver and I have a 26-foot box truck that uh I drive, you know, the one day, but we're in Queens here with uh rocking the road boys, so I I can't leave my truck parked outside overnight. I've done it before, I've gotten a couple tickets on it already, and then we're getting uh calls from the police department saying the next time they see this truck parked out there, they're gonna tow the fucking thing away. Alright, so my plan would have worked out if it wasn't for the fact I did one thing wrong. I'm gonna tell you what it is now. So the plan was this Friday night after work, I brought my my pickup truck with my trailer back to get back to the house. I loaded my bike up on the trailer and whatever I needed for the show, whatever, went to the trailer. Okay. Then I went back out to the island. And I got my work truck. And then came back to the queen with it. The venue now the venue now. I dropped the trailer off there. And then I took my picket truck back to my warehouse. My work truck and went back to the venue. There you go. I got everything I need at the venue. Okay? But then we took my motorcycle off my trailer. When I knocked it in my truck. That was the problem. So what I should have done is what I did when I put the bike back on the trailer is back my work truck off with the lift gate down over the the peak of the trailer. Because when I took my bike off the trailer, it trailed it wheeling. And then slammed down. And not realizing when I slammed down, I broke the landing gear. I didn't know this. Okay? We do the whole day, and now I am absolutely 100% wiped out. I can't even move. We load the truck up and I I go to the kids, I go, listen. I still gotta load my trailer, I got the bike on the trail, I got a few things up, not a lot. You guys go, you guys, I'm not gonna you're not gonna sit and wait for me and watch me. I'm just gonna take my time out of this. Just go home, I'll put this on and I'm gonna be shot. So I load the trailer, I get my work truck, I take it back to my warehouse. Then I get my pickup truck. No, I'm sorry, I didn't do that. I got my work truck and I went back to Queens with it. So the kids can unload it. So I got back here by 7 30. At that point, Bella went out with a girlfriend to kind of celebrate her her day, which well deserved, go out and have a couple drinks. I needed a couple of drinks. And that was an all-in-how deal. We'll get another time. Right? So she goes to the bar with a friend. I get home about 7.30, she's already gone. I go, alright. I get out of the truck and I can't even walk, I can't even stand up straight, my back is killing me. And there's about eight kids here, right? And they're all looking at me. I'm like, listen, guys, I don't know how much I can help you. They're like, listen, we got this. Go relax. Thank God. So I get it so I still gotta go back out to Long Island and get my pickup truck and my trail and all that shit, you know? And I gotta work the next day. So it's about 7:30. I go upstairs and I lay down. Next thing you know, Tyler's knocking on the door and saying, We're gonna truck, we're going out to eat. I said, alright. Thank you. I'll come lock it up and I'll have to go out to Long Island and get my car and all that shit. I open up my eyes, it's 1 o'clock in the morning. 1 o'clock in the morning. Yeah. Johnny was alcohol. What's going on? Oh my god, I jump out of bed. I come in, nobody in the house. I go, I gotta go. I gotta get the truck in before I get to go. You know what I mean? So I go out to you, the lift gate's open, the back door's closed, and I shot it, you know? I close it up, the front door's wide open, and the front of the truck. And I get no way. And I was just telling us about night. Now it's three of us, me bells are sending in the kitchen talking. It's about 1 30 in the morning now. Getting close to two o'clock in the morning. I gotta go, I gotta go. I still gotta go to work tomorrow. So I park. I gotta leave. I drive my truck out tomorrow. It's 2 30 in the morning, quarter three. I get park my work truck. I get my pickup truck. I go back to the venue to get my trailer. I'm back up to the trailer, and I manage to load it enough where it could go down on the ball of the hitch. And it locks. But now when I fit, the landing gate won't go up anymore because I broke it. Now the truck's stuck on a trail. It's like, what the fuck am I gonna do now? I can't even move the truck. So I'm like, I'm gonna try to drive it home this way. I moved it about 10 feet, I'm like, nah, that's not gonna happen. So I put it back, I called Bella, and she's like, Bring bring. My son's coming to get you. I'm like, oh my God. At this point, it's almost 4 a.m. now. Yes. I gotta be at work at seven that day.
SPEAKER_03It was late and what a fucking nightmare. Everybody was tired. Everybody and thank God for my son.
SPEAKER_05He was willing to go out and rescue Johnny. Yes, rescue me, unload the truck, all that shit. So basically, I was able to get my car the next day. I was working and uh got done early. On that Tuesday, I think it was, right? Was it Monday? Monday. It was Monday. I was able to get I got done work early that day. Thank God I was able to go buy a new landing gear for the front of it and switch it over, and that was it.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, because also you had your show that night. And I had my show that night. So you worked during the day, then you had to do that, and then I had your show.
SPEAKER_05And then the next day I had Baltimore.
SPEAKER_03Oh yeah, you had to go to Baltimore. I had to drive to fucking from New York to Baltimore. And back.
SPEAKER_05It's like five hours each way. Yeah, more than that, coming back in the fucking traffic. Yeah. But that was my old deal, but it was worth it. You know what? We got we had the best one you ever had. Yes. And uh I can't wait for the next year.
SPEAKER_03I'm preparing a lot earlier this time. And things worked out. I mean, they worked out. Everybody was safe during the run. Yeah. And uh but we'll get back to that and talking about that run after we hear some tunes.
SPEAKER_05What do you want to hear?
SPEAKER_03What do you want to hear?
SPEAKER_05It was appropriate that you ended the last segment with thank you from Led Zeppelin. That was awesome.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I, you know, I do love that song. And I love Led Zeppelin.
SPEAKER_05How about I play some new Halloween? Halloween. Ooh, Halloween. I play some Halloween out. That band is fucking awesome. I remember that from the 80s, and it came out a new album, and it's just as good. That's one thing I gotta say about bands. This is a rock show, also. If you have a band from the 80s, stay where you are. Okay? Don't be like Motley Crew trying to come out with something that's not you. Stay Motley Crew. Halloween stayed Halloween, which is awesome, man. And on that note, we'll be right back. After the songs. Yeah, you'll listen to the Motorcycle Man Radio.

SPEAKER_05What's up, Bella? Hey, hey, hey, Johnny. So right now, I mean, Bike Tobafest is just ending right now. So I don't really did you hear a lot of Dayton. In Daytona. Yeah, Bike Toba Fest Daytona Beach. Florida. We have our very own Louis Bagger Donuts who's part of the Motorcycle Mayhem Radio show the Monday night. He's down there representing. Yes, he is. Throwing out some shirts and um, you know, living it up, man. Have a good time staying at the Tropical Manor. We stay at the Tropical Manor all the time. That's our hotel. Yeah, very cool. Right on the beach in Daytona. Yeah, he's got like an apartment-size whole room.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. They're apartments, so you get like a little living room, bedroom. He's making out like a he's making out pretty good. He's got a nice ocean view going there.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, he's doing pretty good with motorcycle man. Yes, yes. I gotta tell you, I'm not even doing this good with motorcycle man, yeah.
unknownAnd I own the fucking thing.
SPEAKER_05Come on now. Yeah. So yeah, so anyway, bike tobacco fest is always a fun time. I prefer Bike Toba Fest over bike week because it's not as crazy. And you can actually walk down Main Street a little bit. But uh, you know, there's nothing like a good bike week, and they told us where you want to be, man. The palm trees, the the beaches. This is beautiful. I loved it. It's warm.
SPEAKER_03Even March and October, it's still nice.
SPEAKER_05It's well there was there was a few times you were down there and hit uh fucking 27 degrees. Yeah. In in March. Like you know, walk up. You know, yeah. But you guys wanted I did a bike tobacco fest one year. It was 85 degrees every day. Gorgeous. And so when I went back for bike week, I'm thinking, I don't need a jacket, I don't need a sweater. Yeah, bullshit. I froze my ass off. So it was a good um it's always a good time to Daytona, man. You got Daytona down there, you got Panama City, you got Leesburg, you got a bunch of different uh, you know, bike weeks that happen down there, which is a lot of fun, man. I I love doing it, you know.
SPEAKER_03Well, Florida is like the weather's good all year.
SPEAKER_05So I don't know how I cut my arm, but I get what the hell are you doing here? I don't know, man. I'm like a you know, geez. My face too? Did I get beat up all your way? What happened? Is that the time clock or something? But anyway, so yeah, so you know, by bike tobacco and bike week. Always a great time, same bands, but what I'll be honest with you, Bella. I did bike week, I think like twelve times, bike tomorrow fest like sixteen times. After a while, it's the same shit. Same bands, right?
Becoming A Grandpa And Biker Humor
SPEAKER_03Same, you know. Sounds like you need to discover some new places. Yeah, like going on a cruise, something, you know. Well, we were supposed to go to Galveston, unfortunately. We were supposed to go to the lands got changed in Texas. Um it's a good reason why it got changed because Johnny's gonna be a grandfather.
SPEAKER_04Hey! A grandfather!
SPEAKER_03Can you imagine? Embrace it, Johnny. Just embrace it. Yes. You are going to be grandpa. 27 years old, the grandfather, not bad. Now let me ask you, as a grandfather, what are you gonna teach your granddaughter, Kennedy? Because that's already she's named, even though she's not born yet.
SPEAKER_05Well, I think I'm gonna teach her how to say sh shit. Like, what the fuck's in this bottle? Tastes like shit. That's uh No?
SPEAKER_03Huh. I don't know. I don't know if your daughter's gonna let you back in the house anymore. You start teaching her curse words at a young at a young age.
SPEAKER_05I'll teach her how to say, Daddy, go buy a fucking motorcycle. No? Alright, that won't work.
SPEAKER_03No, I don't think. Do you think you'll put her on the motorcycle? At what age? I don't think they'll do that.
SPEAKER_05Uh probably around three. Four. Three. If they allow it, I mean they might not even allow it. You know, like my daughter might be like, yeah, take my fucking bike.
Motorcycle Safety And Loud Pipes Law
SPEAKER_03Yeah, I have a feeling that's not gonna happen. I mean, I was lucky enough that my dad put me on his gas tank, probably starting around the age of three. Yeah. Um, and then, you know, that went through my blood very quickly. Riding in the mountains with my dad. And back then, you know, we had the uh older style motorcycles where we had the bar going across from the two handlebars that I used to hold on to when I sat on the gas tank. So I had my own little thing to hold on to um as my dad was driving me through the mountains, and then my uncles rode and um my whole family rode. So um it was just innate in my blood that eventually I would ride. There you go. And uh now you can't stop. But you know, these days I'm gonna just say, you know, my dad used to do that. We were in the mountains and stuff, and unfortunately, here where we live, I mean, I'm here in Queens, and um it's a little scary out there with and unfortunately in Long Island, New York, somebody every day is getting killed. Every single day you see something a bade is posting, you know, out in Long Island, and I'm sure even here in the city, you know, it's the same thing. And so um it's it's not always a great scene when you have people that don't drive. It's not the riders, it's the the people that you have to watch out for in the cages that don't see you. That's true. They don't see you, but I do believe in loud pipes saves lives.
SPEAKER_05I might I had my fat boy that was so loud, but in New York they changed the law. We're not allowed to have them anymore. But you know, it's just so stupid because they use the excuse I don't see 'em, I don't hear 'em. You know, take the pipes away now and kill us even easier. Come on now. It's fucking ridiculous.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I mean, you get grandfathered in if you have an older motorcycle, so you're better off keeping the older motorcycle to save your life over here. So you're right. No, I do. Um my my son, he bought a uh Yamaha and I made him cut the the uh tailpipes so that it would be loud because um I want people to hear hear him coming. I mean I have to say, you know, you don't always see a motorcyclist. There's that blind spot in your your mirror when you're driving a car. And you know, a lot of times I hear them, but I may not see them. So I think it does save life. I truly do believe that. And I you know, I wish they would go back on that law and rethink it.
SPEAKER_05Right, right.
SPEAKER_03I don't know how it is in other states or countries. Um but here, yeah. They made it a law. That sucks, man.
Listener Messages And Community Drives
SPEAKER_05Leave us alone. You know what why they did it? Because there's those shitheads with those fucking cars. That's why they made a law. That's fucking annoying. And they couldn't just make it them, they had to make it everybody. Fuck you. Give us our pipes back. That's all I gotta say. Yes. Need the pipes without pipes. If anybody wants to send us a message, you know, this show is also gonna be played on uh iHeart, Google, Spotify without the music. If you wanna hear with the music, you can listen to us on the other stations that we're on. Okay? So if you wanna send us a message, you can send us a message, Judy, whether you're on on iHeart or Spotify, you can hit the message button and send us a message. And you wanna come on with us one day, we can arrange it. Want us to talk about something? You want us to play a song? Anything. Or email email Johnny at Motorcycle Man Radio Show at gmail.com. Yes. Love to hear from you, man. It'd be awesome. Yeah, definitely. So we got a lot of shit going on here now. You know, we're starting to calm down a little bit. You know, now after like September, you got the 9-11 runs. And then you got the charity toy runs, and now the Christmas Toy Run startup. Yeah. We're actually going to be doing a food drive for Rock and Roll for Liqueure. For Christmas, we're going to start that with um Fat Boys Burrito. And um And we're going to see who else will jump on board. Yeah. So we're going to be doing a food drive, uh raising food for Christmas for the pre cancer patients. So we got a lot going on. So it doesn't really end in the bike community a lot, you know. Maybe you get like February.
SPEAKER_03Even though it gets cold here. One of the last runs is probably around the first weekend of December here in New York, which is uh the Toys for Tots run. There's many that go on on that weekend in the first weekend. Um I usually go to the one in Queens for NIFAC, which is for autism. Um they collect toys for all the children that have autism, and then a bait does one out in um Long Island. Robin does one with a bar, and they bring them to the children's hospitals, and you know, so there's tons of toy runs. T Rats is having one. Yeah. Um, and we just went to an event for the Ronald McDonald House with the Long Island Punishers. We'll be going back there again tomorrow for a meet and greet. And uh yeah, we have a lot of events coming up, even though it's getting a little more chillier. Although I'm gonna say in New York, the weather has been mild in comparison to how it used to be. You know, it's still warm for October, you know. So um I'm grateful for that. You know, we're still getting nice days here. Sure.
SPEAKER_05You know, you know what's a cool toy run that Robin does out of their frogs? Uh-huh. She does around the lake. There's a lake on Kakamore, and around the lake, there's about seven bars that are around the lake, or off the beaten path just a little bit, and uh they all work together and they all do a toy run together where the bike is along the bait, and if you want to take your bike or your car, whatever you want. They take their truck and we stop at every bar. So you hang out, you have a beer, you have a hot dog, then they go to the next bar, you know, you can eat, and then you take your time. Then you go to the next bar, and Chris Chris picks up all the toys, and they load that truck to the gills. They load it to the gills, and it's a beautiful thing, man. The toys for tots, and just it's awesome, man.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, it is. It's a it's a nice time of the year here, and all the charities that get together and collect the toys for the children and stuff, and and the food and the people in need. You know, you have a lot of food drives going on as well. You got Thanksgiving coming up.
SPEAKER_05Yeah, Christmas.
Weight Loss Shot Jokes And Band Break
SPEAKER_03Besides Christmas and um holidays, Thanksgiving, can you figure that out? I wonder why, Johnny. Can it be all the food that's gonna be Majoro, huh? Yeah, what happened with Majoro?
SPEAKER_05Now just I beat Majoro!
SPEAKER_03And he's proud of it.
SPEAKER_05Well, we'll see what happens.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. Now you gotta up the doses. Now we'll do smell for the thing. Who takes Majoro? Now he already went up a dose and has not lost anything.
SPEAKER_05I gained.
SPEAKER_03Anything. I gained any who could be on this for nine months and not lose a pound. Can I ask anyone out there? Has anyone been on these injections that are supposed to help you lose a little weight?
SPEAKER_05I don't think Manjoro and Hostess go together.
SPEAKER_03See, the the issue is is Johnny thinks I'm taking a shot, so I could eat even more. You know, like let's just keep eating the junk and all the fraud stuff. Now he's up in the dosage tomorrow. So we'll keep you filled in if it works, because all he keeps saying is he beat Munjo.
SPEAKER_05I beat Munjo, I beat it. They fucking try to keep me down. No, no, no.
SPEAKER_03Yeah. I don't know. I don't know. Hopefully it'll work this time for you.
SPEAKER_05You know what? Since we're talking about fat people, I'm gonna play. I'm gonna play something. What? Fat bottom girls. Ah, from Queen, yes. I thought you were. No, not that one, not that one. Uh fat, what's that? Fat girl from that band. What was that band? Um shit.
SPEAKER_04Um I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I thought you were talking about fat bottom girls.
SPEAKER_05Yes, I'll play.
SPEAKER_03Makes this rock and roll go around.
SPEAKER_05No, no, no, no. I'm talking about uh God damn, I can't remember the fucking name of the game. All right, well, we'll play. We'll be right back.
SPEAKER_10I ain't got it to go.

SPEAKER_03So Bella, tell us about a show you have coming up. Oh, double D is turning a negative into a positive. Oh, okay. Yeah. So we have our podcast, and uh we talk about people who are going through cancer or other issues that um mainly about women have, and um we talk about ways of you know, if you're going through something that's difficult, um, how do you turn that into a positive? What do you do to keep a positive mindset while you're going through the challenge in your life? So yeah, check it out. Again, double D is turning a negative into a positive. Awesome, man.
SPEAKER_05That's a great thing.
SPEAKER_03Yes. That's an awesome thing. That's under rocking the road for a cure.
SPEAKER_05And what's you know what's good about it? It's like, you know, if you get breast cancer or something and uh you feel like you're alone and you know you feel like it's over, you listen to their podcast and you feel better about it, you get a chance, you know, you get hope.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, no, it's good. It's it's you know, we interview people who had breast cancer, who had other cancers, caregivers, and what they did through their challenging times. So you could get some good tips from other people, and you know, we put it out there to share with everybody.
SPEAKER_05But not only do you are a three-time breast cancer survivor and you've done a lot in your life, and you're doing your podcast, which is a great thing, but you also are a drummer, and you have a show coming up, uh playing drums too.
SPEAKER_03What do you got going? Oh, yeah, yeah. Mistress of Evil is going to be performing on November 1st, Old Souls Day. But we're gonna make it a Halloween costume party. And uh yes, uh my uh we do Black Sabbath, Theon Ozzie, and uh we have somebody filling in on base, Lou Mavs, um, who filled in at my 16th annual motorcycle run for breast cancer, did an awesome job, got up there, we never played with him, and we just gave him a set list, and we just went with it at the show, at the run, and uh it all turned out great. Turned out great. Excellent.
SPEAKER_05You're playing Ozzy Dio, Black Sabbath, so you know. I never liked Black Sabbath until I started being with you, and now I kinda like I'm getting used to that, you know. I grew on him. You see, that that that one song I just can't fucking handle. Oh yes, was it the void into the void? Dun dun I Ozzy must have hung himself when he wrote that song. I don't know.
Halloween Gig Plans And Rock Talk
SPEAKER_03You know? You know, Black Sabbath's a lot of head music, and you know, either you love them or you don't. And if you love them, you love all their songs.
SPEAKER_05That's true. That's very true. But Black Sabbath is a legend legendary band, and they're uh Yes, and rest in peace, Ozzy. We love you. Rest in peace, Ozzy. You'll always be in my soul. Hold on, I got a message from Ozzy for you. Hold on again. Oh, this is Ozzy! I want to say that why do I sound like an Indian? All of a sudden I sound like an Indian. Am I a 7-Eleven Indian or 9-11 Indian? I don't know. But oh, I want to congratulate you on playing drums and doing such a great job. With the Black Sabbath and my Aussie Machem, you're taking and keeping up. And now we like to coffee with that. Oh wow, you hear that.
SPEAKER_03Wow, yeah. Wow, he came through. I don't know how he's not like an Indian now. He's not like an Indian. I don't know. Maybe he's jamming with some Indian people. Yeah, right. No, you never know, like John Lennon, you know. And uh, yeah.
Kiss Memories And Rock Legends
SPEAKER_05Well, we got another one coming through. Hold on a second, who's that?
SPEAKER_04Who's up there? Who's that? It's me, Ace Freely!
unknownHey!
SPEAKER_04What's going on down there? How can this reveal? What do you think?
SPEAKER_03Oh, we could try.
SPEAKER_04Play some kiss! Whoa, that was awesome.
SPEAKER_05Did you hear that? Yeah, I did. Ace Freely came through. Wow. Well, this is the same about Ace Freely. Oh, he had to go out. What do you what happened to him? Did he hit his head? What I don't know. The whole story there, like even what happened with Ace Freely. I heard he was on life support, his brain was bleeding, and that was it. He had a stroke. He had a stroke. That sucks. Legendary underrated guitar player, I think. Yes. You never heard Ace Freely, but like he was definitely underrated. He he was one of the greats, man. You know, I got to see him. I can absolutely say, I'm proud to say, I we I saw Kiss. I saw Kiss with Gene Simmons, Peter Chris, Ace Freely, and Paul Stanley back in 1977. Wow. At Madison Square Gardens, where that was at that show. That's amazing. And then any other time I saw Kiss, it was not the real Kiss. It was just Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley and two phonies that were in there.
SPEAKER_03Well, at least you got to see the full lineup in action back in the day.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Very true. Everybody out there knows who opened up for him that night, man. I'd love to find that man. I forgot, man. I was so little, it was just a long time ago, man. It was a great. Who'd you go with? Oh my god. My father and mother told me, my brother, that we were going to the city to see the tree. And then I forget this. And we got to my father's warehouse in Queens, and we left the warehouse to go to the city, and and I remember walking into the monster, like, not knowing what it was. You know what I mean? Like, why are we walking into this building? You know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Right.
SPEAKER_05And um, next thing you know, uh I'm like, there's no Christmas tree here, is there? And I started saying kiss, kiss, kiss, kiss. And my father said, Surprise, he's gonna see kiss tonight. Wow. And I was like, holy shit. You had some cool parents. Yeah, man, that was that was an awesome thing. My father was big like that. Like every Christmas, there was always that one more gift, like he didn't tell you about. Like, you know, when everything's done, you had breakfast. Oh Johnny, go upstairs to my class, go get my slippers, you go up there, there's a stereo system. You know what I mean? A drum set, a bicycle. Oh my gosh. My father was awesome that way, I will say. He was he was awesome that way. But uh with the last surprise gift that you didn't know about, and you forget about it. Like, you're only thinking about it, like, oh, there's gonna be surprise gift. Yeah, breakfast, all right. I'm gonna go hang out. Oh, wait, before you go, let's go in my room now. Boom. You know?
SPEAKER_03Yeah, you told me some story about a car you got.
SPEAKER_05Well, funny, um, I had a a Buick Regal back in the day, and I remember me and my friend Dave were on the uh sagatose and we were flying home and we had the big battery stuff or something like that, I remember. And we didn't hear the engine burning up. We blew the engine on the sagatose. So we had to get rid of that car, and my father took me out looking for cars and I saw this Transam. It was 1983. They called it a Ricaro TA. It was like the one with the nets behind the seat. Beautiful car, man. Beautiful Trans Am. I wanted the car, blah blah blah blah blah. And next thing you know, um why worked ironically enough, where the motorcycle mayhem radio studio is, was where my first job was. That used to be an electronic store.
SPEAKER_03Wow.
Dad Stories And Time Moving Fast
SPEAKER_05So actually, in the room that we'll actually do the show in was the back room of the electronic store, if I remember correctly. That's cool. So I remember um being back there, and I was leaving leaving my job one day, and I came out of the parlor, and there was the car that I wanted sitting in the parking lot with a for sale son on the window, and the phone number was my father's phone number, it was the house number. But my father didn't get out of the car fest until I saw him, and maybe I kind of ruined the surprise, but he always liked to try to do shit like that to surprise us or something, you know what I mean? That's cool. So that was awesome. I I had a great childhood growing up. My father was great, and my mother was great, and you know, I missed him. He died, he actually died in 19 uh 96 at 53 years old, and you look at it now, like he didn't live. He didn't live at 53. That's young he didn't get to really experience things, you know what I mean?
SPEAKER_03Like in our days, that's young.
SPEAKER_05Even though he didn't. Did you have children yet? Uh my daughter was born. And my my and my brother had his daughter and his son, I believe, yeah. But my my son wasn't born yet. My son was born in ninety seven. My father died in ninety-six, so yeah.
SPEAKER_03Oh, so your son had a son, so he knew the name was gonna be carried on.
SPEAKER_05Yeah. Yeah. Okay.
SPEAKER_03Very important.
SPEAKER_05My brother was Michael. I passed away. My brother. What? My brother. Name is Michael. That died at birth. His name is Michael. So my the name Michael was always gonna be in the family somehow, and my son came out and he popped out as Michael. Okay. That was it, man. So I uh was hatched, so you know, the way it was with me. But anyway, uh, we got a lot of shit going on here. We have uh we're planning on a trip, we're going to Texas next week. We're going to see a Texas AM game.
SPEAKER_03Not next week. Oh, next week. Next month. No, mid-month, mid-November. Oh yeah, we got a while.
SPEAKER_05You know what? These days go by so fast. It might as well say next week.
SPEAKER_03You becoming a grandfather, you're always you're already getting dementia. Oh my god.
Texas Plans And Closing Music Picks
SPEAKER_05I'm finished. So anyway, uh, yeah, so we got a lot of stuff coming up. We'll be uh doing the show live from Texas. Maybe with the 99 that we're trying to figure that out with them. Make that work. We're supposed to call them tonight, so I'm gonna call them and we're gonna get done. And um, that's it. So you guys uh have a great night. We're gonna finish the show up at some tunes. Yeah. What do you want to hear?
SPEAKER_03I want to hear Rush fly by night. That's funny because they got a new drummer. Yes, I um I want to do it in honor of having a female drummer. And Rush. I am so happy about that. I'm okay with that. Are you okay with that? I'm okay with that. She's you know what? As soon as they made the announcement, I went on YouTube, I was like, this girl kicks ass. She's freaking amazing.
SPEAKER_05That's awesome, man.
SPEAKER_03And uh how to play with Jeff Beck and all, you gotta be good.
SPEAKER_05You gotta be good, you gotta be good, man.
SPEAKER_03I saw a quick interview with um Neil Pert's um family, and his sisters were happy that they picked a woman drummer because they felt like then that sh Neil would not be in comparison to a male drummer. And um, you know, so no one's gonna think that someone's going to totally take his shoes away from him and his legacy will live on.
SPEAKER_05They will, he will, he was an amazing drummer. And I'm also proud to say you've probably got to see him too. I got the C Rush live. Amazing C Live. Oh yeah, I like that. So you better move on it.
SPEAKER_03You better move on. It costs a lot of money, that's what I do, so.
SPEAKER_05Alright guys, so we're gonna end the show now of cranking up some two rough.
