A room full of bikers, a VFW pig roast, and one question that cuts through the noise: how do we actually show up for the people who served? We take Motorcycle Mayhem Radio on location to VFW Post 4987 in Bethpage, New York, where Commander Lisa Kudat explains how their biggest annual fundraiser turns into real-world help, covering everything from rent support for elderly veterans to care packages for homeless vets and outreach that reminds Vietnam veterans they are finally welcome home. You can hear the pride in the room, but you also hear the urgency behind it: posts need members, volunteers, and local involvement to keep doing the work.
Then we shift to a topic every rider should think about before the worst day happens. Jonathan Glazer, a registered representative with New York Life and a fellow biker, walks us through what can happen after a motorcycle accident settlement or any major payout. We talk about the “people coming out of the woodwork” problem, why quick-hit investing pitches can wreck your future, and how turning a lump sum into lifetime income can protect you, your spouse, and your beneficiaries. We also get into life insurance as a practical tool for stability, not just an expense.
You’ll also hear from community voices like Bobby Muller Jr. from Alliance MC on clean and sober riding, recovery, and their Phoenix House benefit run, plus updates from AmVets Riders on poker runs, bike raffles, and how the veteran and biker communities keep each other standing. If you care about motorcycle safety, veteran support, and smarter financial planning for riders, this one ties it all together.

Offsite VFW Pig Roast Recap
So what's going on? What's up, everybody? Welcome to Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. And uh, we are not live right now. You might think we are, but we are actually not live at the moment. So we are doing a show for you because we went on location today. Me and Bella, we went to Post 4987, right? Uh the VFW 89 in Beth Page today. Uh they had an event today of the uh uh pig roast that we went to. We set up the whole show, it was awesome. And uh we did some interviews there. So some music. We played, we were DJs today. Yes, right? We were DJs. We were DJs, we were rocking the place. It was fun, man. It really was. I'd do uh with the raffles. I did what they did with the raffles. Oh, yeah, you were the raffle caller. I think I was pretty funny, actually. You're the MC. I think I was pretty funny. Was that funny? Because you have people laughing. But you know what what Bella did to me, which I'm not really happy about? You're gonna laugh. I know what you're gonna talk about. So they have all these raffles and a lot of great raffles. They had some really nice stuff out there. But there were Mets stuff. I am not a Met fan. I do not like the Mets. I am a Yankee fan, die hard since I was born. I was born in pinstripes, okay? I've been to five World Series, all right, including 1981, when the Yankees did lose to the Dodgers. Okay? I ran on the field with my father when the Yankees won the pendant. Not in the big one in '78. When Reggie Jackson was bowling people over. But I
Raffles Spark Mets And Yankees Debate
did it in 81. We ran on the field, I remember. Anyway, so they have like med hats, like med hats, all right? That you can win with dirt from the stadium, all right? I think the dirt is the team. They probably just, you know, scraped it off the team, and there's your dirt. But they had a few signed photos. Yeah, it's on baseball for the Met guy. I don't even know who it was. One being Who's the guy that left the Yankees and went over to the Mets? That wasn't signed though. The soda thing wasn't signed. They're not gonna be there. But it wasn't signed. It was signed. No, it wasn't. I tried to win it. But it wasn't. He was an ex-Yankee fan. Although I'm a Met fan, so it doesn't really matter. No. But I wanted to win it so badly. You want to know about it? I know why. Why? Uh throw it in your face. I know. That's just not right. You wanted to throw it my face. All right. Yeah, okay. I done a bit, I you know, I'm even though they're losing. I they are they they they stink, they stink. But you know what? I am a Jet fan. I will say I'm a Jet fan, but they stink. That's all I can say about you know. You know what happened with me? I I was born. I thought about football later in life. Like my son. Okay, he's a huge baseball fan. All of a sudden, I tried to get him in the little league, all the stuff, took him to the baseball games, Yankee Stadium. I took him to Finway. He had no interest, didn't care. All of a sudden, out of nowhere now, my son is the biggest Yankee fan I know. He he watches every day watching the baseball on his phone. He's always glued to the TV watching the Yankees now, which is pretty cool. But anyway, um Now you have to go to the game with your son. I do have to go to the game with my son, but but you know what though? Uh football, I kind of started late, like my son with the baseball. And I was a Giants fan. I loved the Giants. Me and my brother, and all we always watched, every Sunday, we watched the Giants. Why'd you change to a Jet fan? I'm gonna tell you what happened, okay? So anyway. You dated this girl who loved the Jets. No, that did not happen. Oh, okay. My my cousin had tickets, my aunt had season tickets for the for the Jets, right? And my cousin who was using them, he couldn't use them for a while. I'm not sure what happened to him. But ironically enough, his best friend and my UPS driver in when I was working in Richmond Hill was the same guy. So we came to the way I said, listen, I got your cousin's tickets here for the Jets. You know, I I don't want them. I can't afford them. Do you want them? So I said, how much are they? Back then, this was like 1990 or 89.90. There was like $500 for the whole season, plus the the uh the the games, uh the the fit the fake games, we call them preseason games, right? So I bought them. Then me, my brother, and my friend started going to every jet game. Now we're Jet fans. We became Jet fans. That's what happened to us. It was a big The cheap tickets got you. Right. And then, you know, all the years watching the Jets, getting high hopes, just like being a Met fan. The Mets give you high hopes, but then they just die. Okay? Well, this year they just stunk from the beginning, so I don't know what they're gonna do with that anyway. But this is a motorcycle show, believe it or not. Anyway, we're talking about the raffles at the VFW today. And we get into this conversation about baseball. Baseball, exactly. So anyway, we do this event today, and it was a great event. Uh, it was fun, you know, doing the raffles. It was fun. Uh, just you know, they had like an open bar for I think for us, because we were pretty much donating our time. I don't know why. But it was a lot of great things that we did. Um, the food was great. It was very touching. We played that song, Proud to Be American. It was nice looking at all the vets out there. Yeah, was that nice? Yes. And what kind of feeling did it give you? Well, I'm patriotic to begin with, so I was ready to get on the mic and sing the song. So is I. But this voice man isn't gonna go anyway. God bless the USA. God bless the USA! No, okay. People are gonna get off real quick. But anyway, um, it was it was such a um uh touching moment, you know, it really was. And Lisa is such a great person and she's awesome. Oh, yeah, she's the new commander there. New commander. Yeah, she's very patriotic and she's so involved. No women's power. She was she was a gunner. I mean, I wouldn't mess with her. Would you mess with her? I wouldn't mess with her. In one second, I wouldn't mess with her. Bleep. Yeah, bleep that one out, Bella. But whatever. But um, yeah, so it was nice going to that thing today, seeing everybody, and um, you know, some faces we haven't seen in a while, you know. So Bobby kept winning things tonight from the uh damn vets. He kept winning things, and that girl, uh, what was her name? Um Marcia, was she? Uh I forgot her name. There was a few that kept winning. Yeah, you know, and we won a light. Did we win a light? Yeah, and that was from a veteran. Yesterday, they had a veteran who walks 22 miles every day, and he's a veteran, he's 79 years old. Right. And uh they had a big event yesterday for him, and he actually gave back to the post, and he donated, I think, around 10 lamps he made out of liquor bottles. That's that's awesome. And you know, the Ambets were there, it was ran in the VFW, we had a lot of veterans from the Vietnam War there, which is nice to see. And um everybody contributed. They had uh lottery board raffle, they had the commander's prize raffle, which was cool. It was like a barbecue and um chairs to go with a little little uh wagon kind of thing. Yep. So that was all neat, and they did their 50-50, which was cool. Right and uh it was a nice event. It was nice and they did the pig roast. The pig roast, yeah, I gotta love it. The chicken, uh, the pig roast. Uh you know, me actually be honest with you, I was kind of in the mood for like a hot dog today. It's all it's all I was really in the mood for was like a hot dog, but you know, I figured I would uh wait for the hot dog for later. But anyway, it was a great event today. You know, great food, great prizes, uh just great, great feeling, great atmosphere of everybody, right? It was packed. So yeah, so it was it was really good, man. It was really a great and fantastic day. Speaking of veterans, a bait on June 7th is having their veterans appreciation run. Right. So um sign up is in the Riverhead Elks Lodge, 1239 East Main Street, Riverhead, New York, $20 a person. And um it's gonna end at Tiki Joe's, and that's uh 90 Bishop Place, Hamptons Bay, New York. Good deal. So uh you'll
Veterans Appreciation Run Details
get a light breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase at the end of the site. Very good. And um do it for the veterans. You know, come on out, um, do the run. If you don't want to do the run, come and give a donation of twenty dollars. Right. You know, because the veterans need it. There's a lot of homeless veterans, there's uh both men and women who are homeless. Absolutely. There's they get the welcome they were supposed to get when they came back from war. From the Vietnam. Right. So now, you know, they're the the vets are picking it up. So, you know, really awesome stuff that they're doing over there. But uh, we're gonna go to commercial real quick. We're gonna come back. Uh we got Jonathan Glazer on coming on the show with us in a minute when we come back. He's got a lot to talk about. We'll figure out what that we'll find out what that's all about once we come back from vacation vacation. Where am I going? Vacation. We'll be right back right after this. We will be right back. So we're gonna bring on Jonathan. Jonathan Glazer, I'm saying that right. I believe I'm saying that right, right, Jonathan? You are 100% correct. All right. So how are you doing, Jonathan? So tell us everybody what you do out there. That's a very good question. Well, first and foremost, I'm a biker. I uh I've been riding for a number of years. I'm a uh member of the Suffolk County Chapter of Hog. I'm also a member of the um American Legion Riders post-1244 uh Greenlawn chapter.
Jonathan Glazer Joins The Show
And uh I'm not a veteran. Uh my uh my father was uh so as a a member of the uh Sons of the American Legion, I'm eligible to uh to to ride with those uh fantastic gentlemen in uh post-1244. Uh and it's uh it it's something that I uh I hold very near and dear to my heart. Well, it's it's really an awesome thing to do to be part of, you know, with everybody that what they've been through and all that, and to be able to be here now and enjoy riding a motorcycle and living a normal life, and you get to share that with them, which is pretty awesome. Absolutely, and the work that we do with veterans, uh it's uh, you know, it it brings tears to my eye. Uh I'm just so happy to be able to to do it. It's a fantastic community. Uh, and it's something that that I see just as being a biker, so first of all, working with the veterans community, uh working with special needs communities, and uh working with the biker uh community in general. One of the things that I see is that people don't necessarily get the attention from whether it's the financial, uh in the financial industry or uh really uh sometimes the legal industry in terms of uh, you know, uh really people don't necessarily know exactly what they need to do in order to uh whether it's retire, whether it's to protect their family. Uh one of the big things in the in the motorcycle community are uh people who unfortunately get into accidents and they get big settlements. And uh and uh you know I've talked about this with uh with Rich Chaffee and with uh motorcycle Mike as well. People sometimes get these uh settlements, they're in horrible accidents. Right, they get these uh settlements, and then what do they do with that money? What happens then is a lot of people come from an I apologize, my cat, I'm in an undisclosed location. That is awesome. That's life. This is what it happens when you do a podcast, you know what I'm saying? That is awesome. Absolutely, absolutely. Uh so so uh what frequently happens is that people will come out of the woodwork, family members, oh, you got some money. Uh terrible that you got injured. Let me help you invest it. I got something that'll uh uh that'll take uh that's $550,000 and it will make a couple million dollars. Right, right. And that that money disappears. So where do you where do you come in with all this now? So what I'm able to do, and uh as a registered representative, I've got a number of options, and I can help someone take a settlement and make it into lifetime income. And it's a beautiful thing to be able to help someone that way, where people are coming at them and saying, hey, I I've got investments for you. This isn't just an investment. I'm not talking about one specific product, I'm talking about a whole variety of ways of approaching this because every individual is an individual. Every person has different needs, different goals, different objectives. They want to live their lifestyle the way that they want to live their lifestyle. And I got into this business where I could help people to do that. Right. So depending on what they want to accomplish, I'm there to help them with a variety of options. Yeah, that's awesome. In in order to make their lifestyle the way that they want it to be. So have you ever seen some kind of situation where you you actually came in and you and you made a difference when in their lives, like a huge, like you have any good story about that? Or so uh it's a it's a very good question. Uh so one of the things that we do is uh is life insurance. And uh life insurance is one of those things people don't necessarily think about uh that that that that would be such a huge positive thing. They look at it as an expense, and it's really not because what it does is it it creates uh in essence a an instant estate. So you might be struggling, uh you have someone who's got a family and they've got a couple of kids and you got a wife, and maybe there's a disparity in income. And what we've been able to do is to first of all give peace of mind, which is fantastic. Yeah, that's the biggest part. But I've had situations where someone unfortunately passes away, and I'm able to walk in and hand them a million-dollar check and say, All right, wow, let's let's keep you in this house. Let's not make you move out of this house, let's not make your kids uproot from their friends and uh and able to kind of maintain their lifestyle. So uh had to do that uh uh you know a couple of times, and it's uh it it's an incredibly emotional experience to be able to do that. I'm sure. Absolutely. So how does somebody get in touch with you? Uh what's the name of your company? How do you do this? Uh so well, uh so I am registered representative with uh New York Life. They can reach out to me uh by email, uh by by uh telephone. My phone number is 516-551-6629. Uh my email is J Glazer. I'll do that phonetically. It's Juliet Golf Lima Alpha Zulu Echo Romeo, J Glazer at FT. That's foxtrot tango.nework life.com. Okay. Now, me which the biggest cases you see? You see a lot of motorcycle accidents? What do you what do you deal with most? Yeah, yeah. So uh primarily uh motorcycle accidents, uh, they certainly do happen. Uh uh automobile accidents are are uh, you know, it's just because of the the volume of people who are who are driving. You know, the the truth about motorcycle uh accidents every time you get on a bike, every time I get on a bike, I know that something can happen just out of my control. It's very scary. Especially living in New York. Certainly, certainly. Uh people blame uh the the the drivers. The truth is when I get behind the wheel, and yes, I am better because I do, especially when I see a motorcycle, I am very aware. But I turn the radio on. I I know we're not supposed to, but occasionally I glance at the phone. Yeah, yeah. You know, when you're in that cage, you're everybody feels falls guilty to that. Everybody feels guilty to that, but you know what? You got people out there though. I mean, I'm also a truck driver, and I see people, I mean, I'm gonna actually get a webcam. I can start a whole new show, right, Bella? Yes. On on just these idiots that are on the road. Like people that just doesn't use their head, they stop because they missed their turn. So they stop in the middle of the road and put their blinker on. They gotta wait for everybody to pass. So meanwhile, they're causing all this traffic behind them. And if somebody's not paying attention, you gotta run onto the back of this guy. So, you know, the the everyone falls guilty to it, but you gotta really try not to. Oh, what about like you're someone's in the left lane and they're they've noticed they're gonna miss their exit. So they just go through like three lanes to get off the exit. Meanwhile, they're cutting everybody off. They don't even look, they don't even care. And yeah. Well, my biggest thing that you'll love this, Jonathan. Well, I'm coming home from Florida one day, me and my daughter, and we're in the left lane uh of Route 95, going through Virginia, if I remember correctly. No, I'm sorry, I was in the middle lane, and we're doing about 75, 80 miles an hour. We're we're kicking it. And the guy in the left lane, probably about maybe 300 feet ahead of me, decides, oh my God, I'm missing my exit. So he stops in the middle of the road, stops, and then just starts getting over at like five miles an hour to get off the exit. And on my right, there's a tractor trailer going coming. The tractor trailer sees him and he goes. Was off the road, I almost onto the grass, onto the shoulder, and it goes past the car, and the guy gets off the exit. There was nothing wrong. I was like, really? What is wrong with you? You know what I mean? So is this stuff that you're dealing with also right now? Uh uh absolutely. Uh there's also road conditions. Uh I mean personally, so uh Memorial Day, I was uh in a we were in a ride and the the uh parade was cancelled, but I I brought my bike to our fundraisers and uh over in Green Lawn, and there was a uh giant pothole. But it didn't look like it was a giant pothole filled with water, and I thought it was very shallow. I almost lost it going in. I'm sure that so you know uh but but in terms of uh uh what I'm seeing, you get things like that all the time where people don't realize uh and we've got sinkholes going on uh in you know so we had one in LaGuardia and one in the LIE and 49. Exactly. Wow. That that is crazy. So we're gonna come right back to you because we gotta go to my commercial real quick. So stay right there, Jonathan. If I want to get more with you and uh more about your your company and uh, you know, let people know what you can do for them, all right? So uh I'm Johnny Rizzo, I am Bella Tambora. This is the motorcycle mayhem radio. Check us out on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok. We're everywhere. iHoc, Google, Spotify, all those great, great, beautiful platforms. The very lovely. What's up, Jonathan? So tell us again how people can get in touch with you and the services that you offer them that you can help them out if they have a motorcycle accident or something like that or even a car accident? Or what about like falling down the stairs or something? Can you help out with that too? Absolutely. So uh people uh the situations
Turning Settlements Into Lifetime Income
that you described are where people uh come into money in the in the sense that uh they have a horrible accident happen to them. They, whether it's a settlement or they go through uh litigation and uh on the back end, they're given some money, and money doesn't really compensate for uh for pain and for suffering and for the disruption that it does to life. But what it can do is provide an income. So people get a pile of money, and it's very similar to someone, for instance, who let's say they've got a uh 401k, a big 401k, and they get into uh retirement. Well, what are they doing? Are they just withdrawing from that? When you've got a big pile of money, the money can be used to create a lifetime income. And and it's something that uh so uh and there are different ways of doing it where if you've got a spouse, it can be for the uh for the both of your lives, you can have where it also leaves money to your uh to your beneficiaries at the end, it can be structured all different ways. But so someone who does suffer the situation where they can no longer work, we can help them. And I I got into this business really to be able to help people, and and that's the most gratifying uh aspect of it. So uh and when I sit down with someone and I have a conversation, and and sometimes it's it's nothing as dramatic as uh a correction. It could just be someone who's not too sure about what they're gonna do when they retire. So so to sit down with them, one of the happiest things is when I sit down and and it turns out that they've got things in place that they are all set, and for me to say, hey, there's nothing for me to do for you. Right, right, right. Unfortunately, that very rarely happens, but it does occasionally happen. And people with with significant means, it's uh it's not you know something that just comes right out of the sky of, hey, this is what you do in order to ensure that you and your family and your loved ones are taken care of. There are all kinds of things. And and even for instance, and this sounds crazy, but uh buying life insurance policies on children, and it's uh it may sound more, but what it actually is, it becomes an investment vehicle where you put a little bit of money and it's for a limited amount of time, could be for 10 years that you fund it, and and it's not a crazy amount of money, and this kid becomes a trust fund baby. So you have to figure, you know, who doesn't want to be a trust fund baby, but these are things that can be set up so that the kid gets to a certain age and uh whether it's by their retirement, they've got a few million dollars in uh you know, in in this retirement account essentially. That's awesome, man. I mean, I think especially if you're being a motorcycle rider, I'm hungry. I mean, do you work just in New York or are you everywhere? I can I can cover uh all all 50 states. Oh wow, that's awesome. So, you know what, especially living in New York and some other states out there that are pretty crazy drivers as well. But you know, upstate New York isn't that bad. Maybe f some parts of Florida isn't that bad, Bella? Right. Bella, you won't ride in one, I don't know, Queen, you ride upstate. Yes, I do. Right. So what do you think about what he what he what do you offer? See, I think it's a great thing. It is, it is. Because if you have money and you don't know how to invest it, there is ways that you could live off your interest. And and not have to work. And not have to work another day in your life if you know how to invest it properly. Right, right. So it's good to have somebody that could guide you in that way. Especially uh if you have a motorcycle asset, yeah. And and I I I got a horror story that uh I got from uh from one of your uh sponsors who told me he had someone that won I uh one and that's a terrible word, but they got about uh if I remember correctly, the number was something like four million dollars in a settlement. And he was saying, hey, listen, you need to invest this. Family members came out of the woodwork, and to make a long story short, they wound up with like maybe fifteen to twenty thousand dollars left because they were just bone. I mean, I think it it's it's good that you work you look you working alongside with Rich a lot, or you do you uh four different people. Um I'm sorry, I didn't I didn't catch that. Do you work alongside with Rich a lot? So we just started working together. Uh we're uh establishing a relationship. So uh he did uh and and and he told me that story. And he he's a great guy in particular. Oh my god, he is uh he is an angel, he is a uh saint. I love Rich, man. He's very an amazing lawyer. And the important thing about what Rich does, okay, I know other motorcycle lawyers out there that they want to talk about you know, motorcycle accident, blah, blah, blah, but they don't ride. They come out like they do ride, but they don't. Rich rides every day. He's everywhere. Right now he's up in Lake Georgia or in Laconia. He's he's every day, he's somewhere. So, you know, if I'm riding a motorcycle and I have an accident, I'm gonna want to go talk to Rich who understands my side of the story. You know what I mean? He understands you know the situation that we could be in, because he could be in the same situation. You know what I'm saying? It makes a huge difference. So I think why you were working with Rich is the best thing you can do because he is an amazing attorney. And you know, if you need a uh a lawyer, riding council.com, he's the guy to call because he's my guy. That's for sure. I can tell you that much. So yeah, well, uh, you know, I'm here to to to add value, and anyone within the motorcycle community who wants to talk, I'm happy to to discuss it. Uh my number again, 516-551-6629. That's my cell phone. Yeah. Uh uh and and I'm I'm happy just to to listen. I'm one of those guys, seems like I talk a lot, but but I do, I have one mouth, two ears. I'm very good at listening. I'm very good at understanding what someone's goals, desires, and what they're looking to accomplish. And then if I can help them along the way, that's uh a win-win. There you go. Do you have an email address as well? I do. It is uh J Glazer, J G L A Z, as in Zulu E R at F T, that's fabango.nework life.com. All right, that's awesome, man. So New York Life is the name of the company, obviously, right? Yes, it's a hundred and eighty-year-old company. Yeah, I know New York Life, yeah. Yeah, it's a great company. Well, you know what? Go ahead. We're gonna get you in the studio. We're gonna we wanna, you know, uh, because you know, we have a lot of listeners on this show. I mean, we have listeners from all over the world. You know, this show expands, you know, from being on Facebook and YouTube to parts of it go on Instagram, TikTok, you know, iHock, Google, Spotify, plus Roku, Fire Stick, and uh Apple TV, plus we're on in the UK, you know if that's gonna help you, but plus we're on a Rock Rage Radio, which is all over the country. They got over like four or five million uh followers on that. That we're on a show there, too. So we do about maybe three, four shows, different shows, all over the place every week. So, you know, I think that we can definitely help get your name out there, no doubt, on that. All right. So we're gonna have you in the studio hopefully next week. We'll I g I got I got away with this one. Like by doing that event today that we're gonna be going to in a in a minute, you know. Uh we got to get the night off tomorrow. Yeah. It works out with that. Nothing wrong with that at all. So, Belly, everything you want to add? Nothing I I I can really say. Except it is important to invest your money and think of your future for sure. There you go. So all right, so uh you have anything else you want to add there, Jonathan? Uh no, listen, I appreciate the uh opportunity to to reach and help so many people and uh look forward to uh discussing it some more. Absolutely. We're definitely gonna have you on Monday uh in studio because you know we're both Colmack boys, man. Did you go to Comac schools or no? No, no, I grew up in Belmore. Belmore? My brother's over at Seafood. All right. Okay, very good. So we have Fat Boys Burrito, speaking of Belmore, he's over in Belmore, one of our sponsors. We have Fat Boys Burrito in Belmore East, Northport, Patchog. I love Fat Boys Burrito. They are amazing. I do busy pounds, so I'm trying to stay away from it, but uh it's uh very tempting stuff. Well, I I I can't stay. We we get it every Monday, they feed us every Monday. Fat Boy Burrito, they bring it in the studio. Oh, you're in trouble when you come in on the show. Oh, yeah, so we all get stuff. So, Jonathan, again, I want to thank you so much for coming on the show with us. I'm looking to talking to you some more, working with you, and uh getting a great relationship together, and that'd be great. Me, you and Rich together, no one can stop us. All right, unstoppable. Unstoppable. All right, well, you have yourself a great night, a great rest of the weekend, and uh we'll see you next Monday, all right? Thank you. My cats uh say uh thank you as well. You know, really good stuff. So we gotta move over to um what we did today. We have a lot of material that we're gonna be playing on the show. So stick around, guys. Alliance MC And Staying Clean
close to that mic, right? You got it. How's that? Is that better? Do you hear yourself better? I can hear myself better. But I don't really, you know, I'm not the one that wants to hear me anymore. We all want to hear Bobby. That's great. I and that's great because I I, you know, I'm around too much. You is what I'm told. You're not talking, but that's good though, man. That's what they tell me, so I'm I'm good with that. So you got a run coming up, but first let's explain to everybody who you are and what you do. I'm Bobby Marlowe Jr. I'm on Facebook. Um I ride, I ride with the Clean and Sober Club called the Alliance MC. Uh we promote hope for the addict and alcoholic that still suffers and rides. We give them the idea or we show them that being clean is is something that we really want to achieve and stay. You know, clean if we don't pick up, we have a better chance of making it through the day. Yeah. You know, and and uh where we show, everywhere I go, I tell them I have 14 years in a 12-step program. Well, that's fantastic, man. Thank you, thank you. That takes a lot to do, man. That's not easy. I gotta say, you know, I do drink, I don't do any drugs. I don't do any drugs at all. But you know, occasionally I'll I'll drink beers and stuff, right? Sure. But I had to quit. I had to. Oh, yeah. Okay. Back in 2013, so I quit drinking for two and a half years. Yes. It's a difference when someone tells you you have to quit, you can never drink again. Yes. And doing it like you did it, because you wanted to do it. Well, nobody told me, but I but I was, you know, the the story is that I blamed everybody else for my problems because I there was no accountability for my using drugs and alcohol. Right. And in the end, I was alone for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's, and it was every everyone else's problem. Right, right. I didn't cause any of it. They caused it, they caused me. Wait, hold on one second, she's making an announcement. Okay. Sorry, real quick. The food that you are eating that you enjoyed, they were here at the end. Okay. Are Mr. Jason Marge and David Collins? Give it around. Give it up. Give it up, everybody. Give it up. All right, awesome. Awesome! The ice cream truck has arrived. Oh, okay, we gotta go. The ice cream truck is here. Ice cream man is coming. There's a dog here. What's the dog? Penny's dog. We're back live on Motorcycle Man video. Uh this is a great event, man. Is it perfect day? Perfect day outside, too, man. I think it's the first time we've been here for this one. I I mean I might have missed it last year. I know that we do a lot of Am Vets, we do a lot of uh veterans. Um, have a have a sip of water, because that's what we need sometimes. But anyway, uh you know, I'm proud of you. We I know you're for a long time now, man. You're a great friend of mine. Well, thank you. We may not talk every day, we may not talk every week, but we always pick up when we left alone. Listen, we the in my world we're we're we're people of uh we have integrity today. Right. And it doesn't matter, I don't have to see anybody every day. Right. But when when chips are down, that's when we all come together and take care of business. You have to whether it's for the MVATs, for the breast cancer awareness, uh, for the for the rocking the road for a cure, which is a great cause. Yes, it is. Uh they take care of business, they take care of the people that are suffering from the disease. We take care of our own, you know, the alcoholic and and and uh addict that still suffers. Yep, it's all about giving. Back what was so freely given to us, to myself. Right. I can only speak for myself, you know. If it wasn't for the people that are more experienced members that taught me how to live again. Right. It's a whole new lifestyle. You gotta get you. It's amazing. It really is. Beyond my wildest dreams. You know, and I'm gonna say this my son suffers from the same disease, and he's in jail right now. Okay. And he was shooting crystal meth and and and fentanyl at the same time. He he he violated probation and now he's in jail and he's facing very hard charges. Wow. And and he's in Florida, so that's a rough, rough state to be in jail to begin with. Um I don't know what what c you know what what the outcome is gonna be, but I'm taught that we're powerless over our disease and our life has become unmanageable. So whenever I try to control anything, my life becomes unmanageable. Right, right, right. So all I can do is pray and and surrender to the fact that that whatever happens, I just am there to support and help where I can. You have the power of prayer, my friend. Listen, if it wasn't for for the God of my understanding, I'd be dead today. There you go. Yeah, right. And that's that's the God's truth or the truth, you know, and and I'm not promoting uh religion, I'm promoting spirituality. Sure, absolutely, man. So now you are having a run coming up, right? Yes, yes, yes. With with the with Alliance MC, we have uh we have an annual run that benefits Phoenix House. It's um uh I don't know it's on July 26th. Right? It's at Eisenhower Park. Okay. Sign up is from 10 to 12. Okay. And then at 12 we take off, we go down down Meadowbrook Parkway to Ocean Ocean Park. Yes, it's I I don't remember, I think it's what is it, 25 or 30 round 30 miles? No, about 25 miles. 25 miles round trip. We go all the way down, we go do we do the circle at uh at Wantaur, we go all the way down to Robin Moses, turn around, come back, and then we put on a spread. And we you know, we have a band, we have uh sway food, barbecue, uh hamburgers, hot dogs, uh anybody that'd like to donate a uh you know a dish, um we throw it out there and you know it's again it's about helping the addict and alcoholic that still suffers. Sure. You know, and and Phoenix House is a recovery house that that teaches people how to how to uh exist in the world without drugs and alcohol. Yeah. And it's not easy. I I know for a fact, you know, learning from my experience, my my mindset was is I just don't want to be sick anymore. Right so I would use to not be sick. It had nothing to do with anything but myself setting this, you know. It's all about me. There you go, man. Well, Bob, I'm really proud of you, man. Keep it going, brother. You know, you're living a great life now, and you got everything under control. Oh I I have no control, Johnny. And that's just for today. But but I do I do pride myself on if I just don't pick up, everything is possible. Right? The second I pick up, nothing's possible anymore. You don't want to pick up anything. And the only thing that's possible for me is is death. But you know that you have your club and you have your friends that always call if you need to. I I still uh and of course uh you know we we we we uh I I know for a fact when I'm down and if I need I call Johnny and I cry. Yeah, it's going on. You know, and I do cry. You do, hey, that's okay. But you know what I heard? I heard men cry today. They do. And we're allowed to. Yeah, yeah, you are. And we're not wossies anymore. You're absolutely allowed. You know, and to me, it's you know, it's about about our our feelings, you know. And but anyway, I I could go on for hours and hours. I I have a hard time talking, you know. I'm I'm not good at this. No. All right, well, Bobby, man, thanks for coming on. God bless you. Well, see your your run 26th of the ride. But motorcycle mayhem doesn't come to my run. Johnny and Dorney does because they need a break. Yeah, and they need to enjoy themselves, and I have no problem with that. Yeah, yeah, we go, we go ride. Exactly. You ride for that day, and get out for the day, and it's about it's about unity that day. It's about it's about love and understanding. There you go, man. Beautiful, man. Well, thank you for having me. Absolutely. Anytime, man. So I am Johnny Luzo. You're watching Motorcycle Man Radio. Today we have the VFW post 4987 here in Beth Page. They got a great event going on. We'll be back right after this. An all-new meaning of ramen noodles starts right here at Ikido, Japanese eatery. Experience a modern-day sushi bar with Japanese traditions. Ikido is a Japanese comfort food spot in Mineola and Fort Washington focused on simple, high-quality dishes and a warm neighborhood feel. Ikido is not trying to be a formal sushi restaurant. It is more about everyday Japanese food done really well in a space where people can relax, hang out, and come back often. Japanese comfort food, not just sushi, but rice bowls, ramen buns, and small bites and approachable flavors. Come down and enjoy a drink and a great food experience at Akido at 983 Port Washington Boulevard, Port Washington, and 530B Jericho Turnpike Miniola. All right, we are back on Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. I am Johnny Rizzo, and I am with Lisa. How do you say your last name? Who that? Who that? Who that? Who that H U D A. Who that? That's exactly what people say. They're like, hey, who do you? So we're here with uh the VFW Post 4987, which is awesome here, Beth Page. Yes. It's a beautiful room we got here. A lot of people show everybody, don't you? Hello! Hello! Turn the camera, like there we go. All right,
VFW Commander Explains Veteran Support
so we are here live. We're not live, kind of lying about being live. We'll be live tomorrow night. We'll be live tomorrow night, that's okay. So you got a great event going on here today. The food was fantastic. You had some pulled pork, you had some chicken, you had some pasta. Pasta. Pasta. I see you got that Italian basket over there. Yeah. You know who's looking at that, right? You are, you are. So tell us why you have this event today. What's going on? So again, I'm the commander of 4987. Commander! Yes. I wear, I'm a woman of many hats, but this is our annual fundraiser, and we raise money for veterans who need it. So if we have an elderly veteran in our community who needs help paying the rent, we help cover the difference. If we find that there are homeless veterans sleeping at the train station, we make little um like sanitary or care packages and we drop it off to them. We also donate to the Lieutenant Dan Foundation trees for troops. We send care packages to the forward deployed. We do uh canines for vets, so we help link up a veteran who needs a canine. We do a lot of good work. We are a small post, but we we do a lot, and this is our number one thing that we do a year, and I am so glad, so glad that so many people came here to support the veterans because it means so much to me. Well, you know what? It's about time though, right? I mean, it's so it's so sad that these some of these veterans went to war to come back to nothing. Yeah. And don't get the respect that they should have gotten. No. Right? So we know especially we have um a lot of Vietnam veterans here, and they never got the welcome home that they deserve. So every time I see a Vietnam vet, I always say welcome home. Every time I see a vet, I say thank you. Yes. Yes. Well, it's incredible what you're doing here. You are a vet yourself. I am, I'm a retired Navy veteran. I'm a 240 gunner. I'm also Kudat. Who that Kudat! That's who it is. Yeah, and I always and it's funny because I have my commander here from District 10, and I uh this September I will be his junior vice commander. Oh, okay. So I got voted in as junior vice commander of Master County. Well, you're really going far, man. It's awesome. Listen, this is your life though, this is what you do. It's all for the veterans. I give back to those who have supported me. And it's in it's a cause near and dear to my heart. And even to see veterans here, uh people from the community come in, bikers here, because I always go to the biker events, and to see them be like, you know what, we're coming to your event to support you, like that means so much because it bridges the gap between veteran and the biker community. And like for them to support us, it's just absolutely amazing. It is amazing, it really is amazing this thing to see here. And now I am not a vet, and just to be here to see all this is an amazing team actually. But I do want to thank you and Dawn for that you donated your time, and I hope you guys are having fun and ate good or have more. Um it's near and dear to my heart. Thank you so much. I also want to thank uh they left, but thank you, Jason Morge and uh David Collins. They were here at 5 30 a.m. Wow uh roasting the chickens and the pigs. It takes a long time, yeah. Yeah, so it was a lot of hard work, and like I kept thanking them, thank you, thank you, thank you. And they were like, no, we it's our joy, we love to do it. Thank you so much. And there's my lovely uh quartermaster right there, Gene. Hello, Gene. He's eating his ice cream. He's the he's the important one, not me. He's the one that signs the money. Well, he's the one that came up to me and said, You're gonna do these raffles at 3:30. And we're gonna- I'm telling you! That's the important guy. So he's a lieutenant colonel, lieutenant colonel in the U.S. Air Force. Oh, wow, okay. He's my he's my MVP uh quartermaster. Can you give him that microphone right there? Can you just take that mic off the stand? Just take it off the stand. I don't know about the mic. Just just hand him the mic. Right? I told you, Gene, you were coming on, baby. It should be on. Okay. What's the question? Well, tell us what you do. Oh, well, actually, I was actually West Hampton, uh the 106th Air Rescue Group out in West Hampton Beach. Okay. So I was the squadron commander for the 101st Rescue, which is the helicopters. Oh, wow. Okay, so he's a pilot. It's the 106th wing, but it broke down to the 103rd is the power
Donations And Recruiting New Members
rescue, the 102nd is the C 130s, and the 101st is the helicopter rescue squad. Wow, it's amazing. Yeah, wow. Well, thank you for your services. Yeah. So everyone and here is very important. Yes. If it weren't for all your people, we wouldn't have the freedom we have today. That is still going. So and like you said, a lot of the things we do today, I mean, we actually donate to almost like 10 different organizations between the USO uh veterans, uh homes for veterans, we do disabled American veterans, we do the wounded warrior, tower to tower, patriot cause, uh the Gary Sinise Foundation, Semper Fi Foundation. So our even though we only have five or six guys that are out there literally collecting for the poppies, we actually collected almost $7,000 last year. We're very on part of doing the same thing this year. Wow. So that money will go to all of these organizations with only four or five guys. That's why the call is for all the veterans right now to start signing up, whether you can join the American, uh, the American Legion or the VFW. Right. We need we need members, we need help. Right. You know, if you want to keep supporting the veterans, you you gotta get involved. You have to, you know, you have to. There's no way else to do it. Right and and the people that aren't in involved in a post, just say you're a member of a national organization, a national VFW, you don't count towards a post. We need those people to get involved with an actual post so we can count our numbers because we don't want to lose any more posts. We're losing posts because we can't keep the numbers the numbers up, which makes a big difference. It does, absolutely. And you also need the help to run a function like this, if it wasn't for our commander, uh myself and her father George, but UDEC, we there was three of us really pulling a majority of the load. Right. You can't have that anymore. And you know what? You know, when you do an event like this, you're gonna have the bikers behind you, no doubt. And and they're here in force. They're here in force, right? You have a community behind you, you know, and you're gonna get what you deserve to get. But I would also say that for the at least for the Beth-Bay's community, anytime you see a veteran out there collecting poppies, um you if you really want to help donate because that's the only thing that's bringing money in to support these other organizations. Right, right. You need to do it, exactly. It's it's tough to do. Well, but you gotta thank the community for you know chipping in and doing that because we can be sitting down in front of King Cullen or whatever organization. It's the same people that shop every you're not dealing with new people all the time. It's the same people, right? And the same people are still willing to give. Wow, that's awesome. And that's the key. Well, thank you for your services. Yeah, and thank you for doing this. It's awesome. Thank you for coming. Absolutely, of course we're gonna come. It was a great, great turnout. Everybody had fun. So something, something different, yeah, you know. Yeah, no, and it's like you know, you you and as a matter of fact, I'm gonna also plug the American Legion here because I'm also uh a vice commander for the American Legion building. Okay, so I'm the quartermaster with the BFW, but for the American Legion, we're also doing the same thing. We're trying to get people to to to run a building like this. We have three three people. Right. It's tough. And so we're doing all the maintenance, we're doing all the you need help. Right, exactly. So anybody who's been in the military can be in America, you know, can join the American Legion. It's a little more specific for the VFW, you know, but any help would be greatly appreciated. Absolutely. Well, that's fantastic. Well, thank you for coming on with us. Yeah, she told you could be on today. I told you you were coming on here. Yeah, I don't mind. I'm trust me in my position out at the West at West Hampton. I've I've done so many, you know, of these kind of things. And as a matter of fact, I used to do this out of ice lip. Uh with with the the radio station out of the right at the airport. We're in that we're part of that. Yeah, right in the air so on Wednesday nights. Yeah, I used to do that a lot with that. This show will be on Wednesday night. 103.9. Just looking for help. Anybody want to join? We're looking for recruits. We were hoping to get a couple more people sitting in the house. How does somebody get in touch with you? How do they get in touch with you? What's that? If somebody wants to join, how do they get in touch with you? There's actually there's uh barcodes out there, you have scan codes out there. Okay, we have applications available everywhere, and you can actually just come up on the New York, you know, VFW or any of the American veterans in New York, and it'll give you the posts, and then you can sign on. Fantastic. Yeah, well, thank you again for coming on. Awesome. Great, thank you. We can do whatever we can do to help. No, beautiful. So, Alisa, let's talk about real quick before we we you go. Okay, you have the Amvet Riders chapter 111 bike raffle as well coming up. Yes, we do. I am also, as if I don't wear enough hats, I am an Amvet Rider supporter for chapter 111. We have a bike raffle fundraiser. The drawing is on October 10th. It's $50 a ticket. We only have 300 tickets. If you don't want the bike and your ticket gets pulled, we will give you $5,000 cash in lieu of the bike. Here's our plane tickets to Italy, baby. So contact me, contact Eddie uh Ambet uh Rider111 Facebook page, say hey, we want tickets, somebody will reach out to you and we will get you a ticket. Excellent. Thank you, Lisa. Well, again, your sixth appearance. My sixth appearance. So what do we got here in Amazon? Oh, also, um the Beth page, salute America 250. So our veterans at the Northport VA, they kind of get ignored. And we have here and on the tables going around, you can send a message to a veteran and we will hand deliver them to the veterans so they feel good and they're not forgotten. So again, if you they people here are filling them out, send a message if you want. Contact me, I can give you one. Yeah. Well Lisa, thank you. Thank you, and thank you, Duane. I love you. Thank you for doing this. We I hope everybody's having a great time. Great day, great time. We're about to uh I guess start pulling the raffles, and some lucky person is gonna win three hundred dollars in the Italian. I know you want the Italian basket. I do want the Italian basket. Well, even when you're not gonna ask me the question right now. So any family member you have, if you don't have to be the vet, if you have a family member that served in the military, anybody who served in the military that didn't go overseas are eligible to join the American Legion. Like my VFW post, we moved in here to the American Legion building to unify and become bigger. So if you didn't serve overseas in a war zone, you you don't have to join the VFW, but you can join an American Legion, and we'd love to have you. Awesome. Well, again, thank you, Lisa. Thank you. You're always welcome on Motorcycle Man Radio. Listen, I'm I'm going for lucky number 10. So you can do it. Oh, yeah, I'm already at six, I'm halfway there. Lisa Kudat. Not who that kudat. There you go. We'll be right back, right after this. There's a hidden gym in central Long Island. No sign on the door, no markings on the windows, just an Italian flag outside. If you know, you know. Oh, yeah. Straight for you back in high school. Thank you. Thank you. Alright, what's up everybody? We are back. I am Johnny Ridgell. You're watching Motorcycle Mayhem Radio. We had the VFW Post 4987 in Bet Page today. I got the honor of sitting here with Bobby. What's your last name? Trombly. Trombley, that's right. Bobby Trombley. You know that. I know it. Whenever I go live, my mind just goes blank. I hear you. I don't even know my name sometimes, man. So what's up, brother? What's going on, man? How you been? I've been great, man. Glad to see you. It's been a while. It's yeah, it's been a while. Yeah, things are good. Yeah, everything's good. How about you guys? Vacation was good. Yeah, vacation was good. I heard spurred a moment. Took your lovely

lady for her birthday. We went down to Florida. We got some time share down there, so you know, we jumped on a plane, just went, you know, four days. Next time, let me know. I told her I'll get you in Disney for a day. Yeah, well, yeah. I got a connection. My nieces. We got connected. We got connections too, man. We uh we got actually last time we went in November, uh, we got handy passes, four hopper passes for four days. Nice. So we went to sit at the time gym and did a whole bunch of crazy stuff. Awesome, man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But this is a great event. What do you think about this event? Um, yeah, this is the second time we've been here with Lisa. She's also in our post 111 in the MVETS, and uh it's great. They do a lot of stuff like us for the veterans. So tell us about yourself. Um, me, uh I was in Navy Reserves. Right. So to be honest, I really didn't do much. Okay. You know, but you know what? You still went. And uh yeah, you know, just try to do stuff for the Vets. Well, that's fantastic, man, because that's very important, man. Because looking around here today, and you see, especially when I played that song before, you see how everyone's face is just like you felt like the the love. Everybody was singing, yeah. Everybody was singing it, everybody was into it, everything's a nice thing to see. And it's like a whole big family you guys got here. And I watch you guys on Facebook all the time. You do a lot of great things, a lot of barbecues, poker runs. You have a lot of great things coming up. Yeah, we go to Vets homes and do Right. Events and stuff for the old vets. And uh, you know, they really appreciate and stuff. There's not enough people visiting them and you know. So what is your duty being part of uh 111? What is my what? Your duty, like what are you um the second vice. Okay. So I've taken care of all the events and putting them together and uh logging them in and sending them to National and uh you know and just uh help organize it. What does it take to put something like that together? Like you want to put together the poker run? Is there a lot involved? Well, there's places like kind of like when you tell them it's for the vets, they change their attitude. Yeah, I mean uh the poker runs, which we're having that October 10th, thank you. Anybody wants to come down for that? It's a great event. You do not need a bike to do it. You could come down and you go to five different Am Vet locations. You have those locations, or you pick a card, yes, they're all different posts on the island. Oh, that's awesome. And uh you pick a card and best two hands win prizes, money and gifts, and uh worst hand wins a prize. I once won the worst hands, yeah. Yeah. I want a bunch of like size large Harley shirts. I was like, these ain't fitting me, man. You know what I'm saying? But thank you. And also with that, we are raffling off a 95 Ultra Glide, fully dressed tour pack, 4,000 miles on it. The bike is beautiful. Wow. $50 a ticket. Uh if anybody's interested in tickets, you can reach me 631-317-5100. Right. And if you don't ride, you can win $5,000 in cash instead. So that's a pretty good deal for people that don't ride. Absolutely. I mean, what do you think the bike's worth? You think it's worth five? Uh probably five, six grand. Yeah, yeah. It's beautiful. The hassle trying to sell it though. The guy that uh we that we got it from did not really ride much. Okay, but he kept it nice. Uh there you go. There you go. Perfect. So these guys are going. All right, man. Take care, good seeing you. But um, well, that's awesome. So you got a bike you're raffling off, or you give five thousand dollars? That's a that's a huge thing, man. Oh, yeah. That's a huge five thousand dollars right now. Yes, I mean, it's granted it's not brand new, you always give a nice brand new bike away at your event. Yeah, but you know what though? The difference between that is all right, we're gonna give away a brand new bike, but we still gotta buy the bike. Yeah, I mean we bought the bike too, but you know, it still raises a nice amount for the best. What about taxes? We gotta pay the taxes and all that stuff, you know. Cash, prize, cash prize, no taxes. So now we're tax exempt. What are you gonna do with the bike if someone takes the cash? Uh then we'll raffle it off next year. There you go. We also are gonna raffle off a street rod next year. Street rod. 79 Malibu with a worked motor, beautiful paint job. That's awesome, man. Yeah, every year we're gonna we're gonna do a nice raffle, you know, something nice like that. So, you being part of 111, because what does that give you? It's like, can you go to any post that you want to go to? Could go to any Ambeds post across the nation anytime. Have a good one, Bobby. Bobby Mellon Jr., everybody. Yes, from Alliance. Excellent. So you could yeah, you could go to any post. I mean, basically, you go to any VFW, you go to any American Legion, stuff like that. But the cool thing about it then is like I see, you know, is the family. You guys just do everything together. We are so you're here for them, they're there for you. No, that's awesome, man. We will help any vet anytime. If God forbid somebody passes in your family that's a veteran, you could contact us at our post 111 in Petrog. We will give a you know, we'll we'll we always escort for funerals and stuff. Yeah, we'll do a little ceremony. We will do that for anybody. If uh we're always looking for new members, good people, you a vet, or you don't have to be a vet. If you were married to a vet, if your father was a vet, your grandfather, you could always join. Wow, okay. That's fantastic, man. Well, so we'll talk about some of the events you have coming up. Um well, we have the pig roast poker on October 10th. October 10th, the pig roast poker run. And we're gonna we're gonna draw the bike at that day, unless we sell it earlier. If we sell it earlier, we're gonna call all 300 because it's limited 300 tickets. Yeah, makes sense and let them know, and we're gonna do it online live, or we'll have like a little barbecue at our post that people could come down and see it live. That's awesome. If not, we'll do it at October 10th, whether all the tickets are sold or not. Ah, there you go. And then October 10th. June 19th, which a lot of people have off Juneteenth. It's Friday night, 7 o'clock. We are having a uh bike night at our post. Sweet, man. So you guys have a bike night like almost every Friday, right? Uh, we're gonna do it once a month. Usually the last last Friday of the month, but someone else has one the last Friday in June, so we're gonna do it June 19th. Uh it's nice too. You want to have a couple drinks, five dollar drinks, four dollar beers. Remember my bike nights? Yeah, your bike nights were great. Used to do them at our place when uh we had a restaurant. Yeah, we did, yeah. We did the bike nights, but you know what I learned about doing the bike nights though? It's like you have them every week, after a while, it gets old. It gets old. The once-a-month thing is the right thing to do. Yes. You know, other people want to do them for one. You're not stepping on anybody's toes, and you know, people look forward to it all month. Like, yeah, we got that bike night coming up, you know. And like I said, we get lots of people that don't have bikes. You can just come down and hang out. It's a good night out. I mean, you got music, you got food, yeah. It's a night out to enjoy. Cheap drinks, cheap people. Great people. Yeah. So I mean, Bob, I'm thank you for coming on, man. No, thank you very much. You always do a lot for the vets, you do a lot for the motorcycle community. Well, we're all in debt to you. You're also a friend of mine, so you know, I appreciate it. You're welcome on the show anytime. Excellent, thank you. Have a good one now. Hope to see you there. You got it. All right, Bella Tambora is joining us now. Mr. Today, honey. You've been um busy. It's been a great day, a lot of great uh stuff going on here today. So, what do what's your take on this, Bella? Oh, it was a great event. Awesome. People are still here hanging out. I had some great prizes, raffle prizes, the commander prize, which is which was a lot of things to barbecue. The 50-50. 50-50. I like that uh we lottery board. We should have won that. I think we were
Wrapping Up With Community Calls
ripped off. Uh, you want to win everything. No, I know you wanted to win the Mets. No. Can you put my name in there, Save? I I hate the Mets, folks, right? Uh-huh. I hate the Mets, and I'm a huge Yankee fan, but she wants to keep pushing. I'm a Met fan. So we go head to head on that. We actually do go to head to head on that. So there was Soto. There was a sign photo from Soto. And I put in for my raffle tickets one of those, a few of those. Yeah. I was hoping to win it for Johnny. Yeah. Since he was the extra. I would have put the dirt where it belongs, right back in the I would have put that dirt right where it belongs, right back in the flower box. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Shea. City field. Anyway, so City Field's great, by the way. Yankee Stadium. We'll see about this. I got him quiet for a second. Anyway. So this was a great event they had for uh raising money for the vets. I don't know how much money they raised, but that had a lot of people get today. This place was jammed. Yeah, yeah, definitely jammed. It was cool. They had a pig roast. Yes, they did the pig roast. And it was delicious. Yeah. A little of it. They had a nice barbecue. All nice sides and stuff like that. Yeah. They had their bar going and um nice setup in here. Very cool posts. And what do you got there? Oh, yeah, we gotta give those. Yeah, we're at the VFW post 4987, and Beth Page and Lisa, who doc is uh the commander. Let's give her a freaking round of applause. She did a great job here. She did a great job, right? She really did, and I love to hear that there's women commanders. So, kudos to you, Lisa. You did an awesome job. Well, whoever's left here before everyone leaves, how about give another big round of applause to Lisa for putting this together? Yeah, Lisa. Congratulations, Lisa. The great event. We won one bottle, which was awesome. She raised a lot of money. Much needed money. She's a very given person. Yes. She gives her personal phone number out to help veterans. A lot for that matter. And you know, that's a great thing. She just went to a week-long convention, which is amazing. Some of the things that she, you know, shared with me, I have to say. And um, they're also letters to the veterans over in Northport. That's mine. Um, they're having the veterans here and other people write letters to the veterans in Northport. You know, 250th anniversary of America. God bless America. God bless America, that's right, man. Awesome. God bless our freedoms, and you know, everyone that fought for our freedoms, all our veterans, you know, everyone that's served, you know, we're here because of them. And we will continue to be here because of them. Right. So, and who knows what the way the world's going. We definitely need our veterans, and everyone should support our veterans here. Absolutely. 100% because they didn't, like Lisa was saying, they didn't get the proper welcome home. And that's gotta that's gotta be horrible from Vietnam. For somebody, yeah, who went to war for our country, and you're thinking to come home as a hero, but instead you gotta, you know, you didn't they didn't look at you that way. You know, that's gotta be heartbreaking. And to be homeless, to be walking around, people looking down at you, and you can't even eat a meal. You know, that guy for these VFW hauls, and you know, and so you're even part of uh an alliance, right? What are you part of? No, I'm part of the American Legion 44. And um you know, we give back to our veterans, we give back to our veterans' families. So something nice that we do is we throw baby showers for the veterans' wives. So while they're away, you know, the women are alone, they're they're placed in another state away from their families, and they're having a baby and they don't really know anybody. So we do a parking lot baby shower. So what we do is uh we put we put posts out, we put ads out for people to drop off, you know, presents for the the veteran's wife who's having the baby. And uh it's it's a really nice thing. We fill up our cars and our and our uh SUVs, and then everything gets brought over to there's there's not only one woman, there's usually a few that are pregnant at one time where they all are are staying, and they split they split the stuff that we um donate to them depending. There might be like somebody who's just having a baby, their first baby, and then there might be somebody who had a few babies, and you know, they share things too. So it's really nice, you know, get out into the community. You need you need to, you know, try to do something for our veterans, uh contact your local VFW, your local post. Right. Get involved. Hey, you know what, Travella? That's what's so great about the motorcycle community because the motorcycle community is huge with the vets. They stand behind the vets in whatever event today. We probably had 50, 60 bikers here today. Yeah. Right? It was it was great, it was a great day. We had so many people here, the food was fantastic. You know, and uh I guess I'm getting ready to wrap it up now. But um it was a fun day. You have fun today. It was it was a fun day. I know you wanted to win more prizes. I did. I won that Italian basket. But you know what? We'll go there for lunch ourselves to the Italian store. The Saparo. Oh yeah, we got invited. We got invited. We got invited for lunch there. Why did we get invited, Johnny? I made a video of this store. It's in Farmindale. Store and restaurant. Saparo. Sabaro? Sabori, sorry. Sabori del Del Vala, it's called. In Farmingale. In Farmindale, and it's just basically a warehouse that you would never know anything was there. There's no name on the on the on the windows or the outside the door, nothing. Except for an Italian flag that just stands there by itself. And then when you walk through the door, you're in like Italy heaven. Everything in there is imported straight from Italy. Uh, even uh like soap, if you buy like detergent, it's all in Italian, everything is from Italy. They don't use any of the preservatives that we use here in America, and they have a pizzeria that's attached to it, and everything from the pizzeria is all fresh from Italy. Everything is fresh from Italy. Everything that's made there. So I made this video not thinking it was gonna go viral. Uh when I first asked the people if I can do a video in here, like, oh, a girl did a video in here, she got like 10,000 views, blah blah blah. Well, right now that video, I gotta look now, as of this morning, it was at 300,000 views. Wow. 300,000, to be honest with you. That's amazing. 300 2,000. And they have said that they have increased. Their business since Johnny had posted this video, which was how long ago? About maybe three weeks now? Right? Yeah, three weeks ago. And uh I got an invite today, a text from them inviting me and Bella for lunch. Yeah, that's all in the food. I got to say the food. Don't go by what's on their menu. You they'll make whatever you want. Yeah. So plus their menu is fantastic too. But um, looks like they're getting ready to close up here, so we're gonna have to head out of here, Bella. Yes, we will. So um thanks very much for watching. So I want to thank everybody who joined the show. Yes, again, thanks to our veterans. Um again, join your local posts. Chip in a little, do something. Hold on a second. All right, hold on a second. Uh what size t-shirts are we? Well, I'm I'm a fat size, 3X, and she's uh uh a medium. Thank you. What should I show to you? Extra large. I have exalge with me. All right, so we're gonna do see? We need a t-shirt swap right here on the shelf. Yes, we're gonna get a post uh VFW post 4987 t-shirts, and we're gonna give them a motorcycle mayhem radio t-shirt. So these VFW hauls and these allegiance and all that are awesome.
