Sam Pygall has worked in the healthcare sector for over 20 years and is currently serving as the Commercial Strategy and Operations Lead for MSD UK. Over the course of his career with MSD, Sam has gained a broad set of experiences and consistent track record of delivery excellence with a focus on improvement of healthcare outcomes.
Sam is passionate about improving healthcare for all, innovation is a consistent theme and he has been involved in many groundbreaking commercial partnerships, such as pharmacy-based adherence programmes in support of the NHS Englands Test-Beds progarmme.
Sam received his undergraduate degree in Pharmacy from the University of Nottingham and completed pharmacy pre-registration with Pfizer and Moss Pharmacy (now part of Boots). Sam also holds a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Nottingham.
Sam is the sort of encyclopaedia reading guy that seams to fit more than humanly possible into the working day. All the more impressive is that one of the things he absolutely prioritises is time to support others though coaching, mentorship and general chit chat. Something he admits he has benefit from in his own career. A career path that has seen him transition from research labs to be a commercial business leader and add great value in both.
