Welcome back to God's Loving Sacrifice Memorization Podcast. We are on our fourth unit of Word and Prayer. Today's scripture is going to be from Deuteronomy. It's Deuteronomy 6, 6. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You know there was a survey of the spiritual decline in the Western world. Only about 35% of American congregation now describe themselves as spiritually vital and alive. I think that's kind of sad. We really need to be alive. We need to have his word in our hearts. This is what the Scripture Memorization Podcast is all about is learning his word, putting it in our heart, being able to use them when we need them.
Speaker 1:So far, for the word of God in prayer, or the word in prayer, has been 2 Timothy 3.16. All scripture is given by inspiration of God and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness. The second one was Joshua 1.8. The third one was Psalms 119.11, 1-19-11,. Your word I have hidden in my heart that I may not sin against you. And today, deuteronomy 6-6,. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You've talked about the armor of God. Of course, I talk about the armor of God a lot, but it is so, so, so important that we do put this word in our hearts, that we meditate on it night and day, that keeps us from temptation and sin, we have a shield and that quenches the fiery darts of Satan. And every piece of equipment in our armor has something to do with the Word of God and how we use it and how we hold it in our lives.
Speaker 1:Now I missed my little saying, so I'm going to say it now. I hope you can say it with me by this time. Hear it, read it, write it and speak it. It only takes a couple of minutes a day. Memorize the scriptures. Memorize it when you're driving down the road. Memorize it when you're at your desk and you have a break. Memorize it when you're walking your dog. It's any time that you can memorize it and remember that. On my website, wwwgodslovingsacrificecom, is a memorization scripture tab, and each week I put a printable sheet out there with the scripture for that week, so you can go out there, print it off, keep it with you, write it down, just use it there and get these scriptures in your heart. This is very, very important.
Speaker 1:Again, let's look at today's Deuteronomy 6.6. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. This is a weekly podcast. Use the whole week to memorize it. That's a great way to do it. Then go over the ones that you've already read. If you would like something daily, you could check out Wisdom for the Day. It's a daily podcast from my friend, rick. Right now he's going through Proverbs in a year and it's almost done. I'm not sure what he's going to do next year, but we will find out. You can try this at wwwwisdomforthedayorg or anywhere you listen to your podcast. Okay, we're going to say it again Hear it, read it, write it, speak it. Deuteronomy 6, 6. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. Let me know if you're enjoying these and I will be back next week.
