Hello, I'm going to be doing something today that I've never done before. I'm doing a bonus podcast, and this is because God's really laid something onto my heart and hopefully I can get through this with a few tears. You all know that things are changing. I've had the flu and I've had a little bit of pneumonia and I'm trying to get through all of that. And in all of that, you know, right now we're trying to sell my house and move away and things are strange and I kind of feel alone, but I know God's with me.
Speaker 1:How do we go through the changes that God puts before us? Through the changes that God puts before us? Sometimes it's a very lonely, frightening thing when you allow yourself to listen to the little voices in your head. So I decided to really look into what we need to do when we're going through these changes and the scriptures that we need to hold fast to. Joshua 1.9 says have I not commanded you be strong and courageous, do not be frightened and do not be dismayed, for the Lord, your God, is with you wherever you go? This verse reminds us that every step we take, God is with us. We're never alone, but Satan loves to tell us we are when there's not others around, when you have a night that you can't sleep and there's no one to talk to, Satan loves to get in there and say horrible things to you.
Speaker 1:But 2 Corinthians 5, 7 says for we walk by faith, not by sight. We don't always see what he's doing. We have to trust him because our perspective of everything is so limited. Stepping out in faith means believing in God and His guidance when we can't even see the path. That's what stepping out in faith is not seeing the path. Hebrews 11.1 says Now, faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen. That is the essence of faith trusting in what we can't see because we know that we're trusting in God's promises.
Speaker 1:That's been really hard for me lately. But how do we cope with this? How do we cope with these changes that we're going through? How do we cope with these new things that God has planned for us? You know what he doesn't always tell us and sometimes he hits you with it at your lowest point. Like I said, if you can hear my voice, I'm still really trying to get over everything that's been going on. But coping with change is easy when we trust in the Lord.
Speaker 1:Proverbs 3, 5 through 6 says Trust in the Lord with all of your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all of your ways, acknowledge Him and he will make your path straight, no matter what the changes are. When we follow Him, it may look like the curviest road. It may look like the longest battle uphill, it may look like something that we could never reach the top of, but when you're following God, the path's straight. Isn't that wonderful? This is the verse that God gave me, that I've so far haven't had success in reading it without crying, but I know that this is the one that he meant for me. It fills my heart to know this was for me, that I am his.
Speaker 1:Isaiah 43, 19 says Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers, in the desert. Everything God takes us to is a new beginning. He's opening opportunities. He's opening opportunities and I know that there's people where I'm going that need to hear what I have to say about God. I know that he's going to use me and I'm going to let Him. I am going to let Him use me in whatever it is that he needs for me to do.
Speaker 1:This verse tells us that change will lead to a new beginning. God is always at work, creating opportunity and guiding us through these transitions. There's Philippians 4, 6-7. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, present your request to God, and the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guide your heart and your mind to Christ Jesus. Prayer. It's funny. I laid in bed the other night praying and asked for God for some things and to help me through some things and to show me that everything's going the way he wanted it to go and that I was still walking in his path. And the next day so many things happened. Things started to fall into place, People were getting answers that they needed. It amazed me, and a few months before that I had prayed another prayer and I had thought about it a little, but not a lot, and I started looking around and that prayer was being answered. I heard somebody say there aren't miracles anymore. Well, I don't know about you, but there's miracles in my life every single day.
Speaker 1:Romans 8.28 says and we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love the Lord and are called according to His purpose. According to His purpose, even when the changes feel challenging, even when we are even stumbling through the changes sometimes because we are misstepping and not because God is leading us wrong it all works out. It works out for those who love God and are called according to His purpose. We need to embrace the changes that God is sending our way. I needed to do this podcast to reinforce this in myself self, To know that, whether it's the flu, whether it's a move, whether it's finances, when we depend on God, when we let God guide us through each one of these things, he has a reason, there's always a purpose and it is always for the good of us. So I go back to the scripture that he gave me, Isaiah 43, 19.
Speaker 1:Behold, I am doing a new thing. Now it springs forth. Do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers, in the desert. He'll make a way. He'll make a way, and through it all, if I die tomorrow. He made the way, it was His choice, it was His will. If tomorrow, I end up in another city around new people, that was God's way and I'm just going to follow? Are you struggling? Are you struggling with changes that God's going through with you? Hooray, Reach out to other Christians. The best thing I've done through all of this is called my wonderful, strong prayer warrior cousin and I asked her to pray for me and the words that came out of her mouth were words of God. She didn't know what all my battles or concerns or cares were. She just allowed the Holy Spirit to speak and it spoke life to me. I hope someone out there that's struggling and listening to this. I'm hoping that you'll know you're not alone. We're all here. We're all walking in God's grace. Trust Him and let Him lead your way.
