Born in 1989, Grant is from Cairns, Queensland. Affectionately known as Scooter he has diastrophic dysplasia, a form of dwarfism. In the 2021 Paralympics 'Scooter' Patterson achieved a childhood dream of winning a medal. In the pool, Scooter's talent is unquestionable, but it's his impact on dry land for which he'll be truly remembered. Listen to the 32-year-old loveable larrikin talk about growing up ‘different’, his supportive parents and training! He is a pleasure to be around and an inspiration to the younger athletes coming through.
