Welcome And Daily Biography
SPEAKER_00Peace and welcome back. Welcome back, Freeman's Affairs Radio. I'm the host born black. Thank you. And bless you for tapping back in with us. This glorious sunrise. June 9th, 2026. The numerical focus for today is born. And we want to give you the bio for today, the biography to go research. And that would be that would be Pastor Vernon Johns, who was the predecessor to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Family. Go look him up. Born April 22nd, 1892, and brother departed from us on June 11th, 1965, at the age of 73. So in two more days will be his birth anniversary, and he will be uh greatly appreciated. When you look up, look him up and go into him, and there was a movie that was done, a bio, a biography that was done. I forget who produced it, but it but uh James Earl Jones played his the character. Very good movie, very good movie. Forget the name of it, I can't recall it right here, but very good movie. But that is the bio for today, Pastor Vernon Johns. Tough man, tough man. This is why they had they had to get rid of him and get Dr. King in there. But anyway, family, we're gonna unpack a little something today, you know, as you know, around it around the uh country, these big fouls, Camelo Anthony, of course, uh, and Rick Chow. And uh let's let's see, can we get a little bit from there? Let's see, can we get a little bit from there? Hold on. Let me just bring in uh bring in the uh bring in the system, hold on, and get that to you. Let me see, hold on. Give us a second so we can
Verdict Audio And Case Facts
SPEAKER_00get everything hooked in and we ready to go. Okay, we got that. Bang, bang, bang, bang, and we ready. Hold on. Let me get back to it. Let's go, let's go get a little audio in here. Hold on.
SPEAKER_02State of South Carolina, County of Richland versus Chi K Rick Chow. We, the jury, unanimously find the defendant, Chi K. Rick Chow as to the charge of murder, not guilty.
SPEAKER_01A jury found a store owner to be not guilty of murder after he shot and killed a 14-year-old boy. The shooting happened back in 2023 in Columbia, South Carolina. Rick Chow was accused of killing 14-year-old Cyrus Car McBelton outside of a shell gas station. Prosecutors said that Chow and his son chased the 14-year-old boy after they believed he stole water bottles. Chow fatally shot Car McBelton in the back after his son claimed that the teen had a gun. Chow claimed he acted in self-defense. State of South Carolina.
SPEAKER_00Now, that was a big one. It was a hurtful one because this there was no crime committed. They ran and chased this, chased this boy down after he left the store. He stepped outside of the store. He didn't steal anything. There was no crime committed. And they took Chase and shot this 14-year-old kid in the back. Now, the def the um the defendants were saying he felt that the boy was pointing a gun because there was a gun found at the scene, and uh allegedly the gun was supposed to be belonged to this young kid, Cyrus Belton. Cyrus Belton. And the father said the reason he shot is because the boy turned around and pointing the gun at his son because they took chase after the boy out of, you know, after he left the store. They took they took chase and chased him down. I'm saying 130 yards they chased him. So but now if this is the case, if he pointing the gun, y'all chasing him, and he turn he turns and points the gun, how does he get shot in the back? How does he get shot in the back? But he was acquitted. On all counts, acquitted. Once once the the the suspect, if there is a suspect in a situation like that, once the suspect leaves the property, that is it, you call the police after that. You call law enforcement if there has been a crime committed. You can't as the proprietor of of this of the convenience, or you don't give chase to to the perpetrators of the crime. You leave that to law enforcement. This is what you this is what his uh lawful obligation is to do. But he didn't do that. And he there this kid was shot in the back and unalived. He was pow powd in the back and unalived right there. And uh this is what we have now.
Carmelo Anthony Trial Forecast
SPEAKER_00I don't want to go into the Camelo the Camelo trial as yet. Because they're uh I think they're expecting the verdict today. It could be what was it today ninth? They uh at least because they was they were saying by the 12th, but they could be getting getting the verdict by later on today. So let's uh let's hold tight for that. So I don't really I know there's there there's uh let me say this to that. Let me say this. I will I will speak on it since I'm here. Family, if he I think he will he will beat the top charge, which is murder one, did because the burden is on the state to prove that he had intent to kill the the Metcalf kid. There was an intent that he he was he wanted to do that. That's been debunked and debunked and debunked. He had no idea that that event was going to unfold in the way it did. They can't prove that. So he will get he will he won't get that charge. I think they're gonna be able to offer him a lesser charge, like a manslaughter one or two, something like that, and he probably can get uh twenty, ten to twenty years, maybe five to twenty years or something like that. He's very young. So even if he get they find him guilty and he gets convicted on a on a lesser manslaughter, he he would still be able he would still be young enough when he gets out to come and do something with his life. However, that might not even it might not even go that far because throughout this whole case, there is tons, tons from the time of his arrest, there's tons of errors and mistakes that will provide a hefty appeal. Take my word for a family. Well, you don't have to take my word, but I'm telling you, as a a person experienced in in the criminal justice industry or or agency, I'm looked at that case since last last year when it happened. I think it happened in April, I forget the date of April, but it happened back in April last year, 25. And from the time like I said, from the time of his arrest, there was violations, there was mistakes and errors made. All the way up into these testimonies of some of these uh witnesses. Now, in my opinion, a lot of these witnesses, their story seems to be out of a one playbook. So these pe there was some coercion, in my opinion. Now, there's there's incidences where there's creators on on YouTube channels that are sending messages and emails to the defense about witness tampering by the Medcap father. Let me say that. Let me say that, and we're gonna move on. So they have taunt then then the biggest, one of the biggest mistakes or or things that he will if convicted, I think they're he's not gonna be found guilty on murder one. And this is the only charge, this is the only charge is is murder one. So he walks on that. He walks on that. Now they're gonna they like I said, they're gonna finagle that thing be able to offer him a lesser manslaughter, whether it's man or one or two, but he will get a lesser charge than murder one. That's what I was trying to tell some of these bimbos back last year. Some of the some of our conservatives, our black conservatives, who love to gaslight and shuck and buck for massa. Yeah, I was trying to explain that to them wise, the big cornball wise, and his uh his uh righteous perspective, you know, their echo chamber over there. You got the big face that what's that chick's name? That put her big jaws. She got jaws like a like a Saint Bernard or something. Her name is uh, I think Crystal. Crystal's her name. The big, yeah, the big old tether. Them big jaws. And uh, yeah, but anyway, I tried to explain that to them. You know, they no, he's gonna get 99 years. He thought he's gonna be in prison the rest of his life. He should have just took a plea deal. No, you don't take a plea deal on a case like that. It's it it's not um, I don't, it's it's not, it wouldn't be logical for a kid that young with a case this big to take a plea. No. We going we going for all the marbles. We going for all the marbles. Go on the trial and
Why A Targeted Hate Crime Bill
SPEAKER_00and shake the dice. But anyway, family, I don't want to stay too long on that. That's enough of that. But what what I do want to talk about, all of these things are intertwined because I'm saying from Dalen Roof to Peyton Peyton Gendron to uh the McMichaels who chased down and killed Ahmad Aubrey, where where are the attorneys, the black attorneys and the Congressional Black Caucus and NAACP and all of these frat organizations? Where are they in the voices, the Al Sharptons and all of them for a specific hate crime bill for black Americans? Where is it? I'd like to know. Now, you know, what's going on? We see that we see there's a system, there's a play here. Now, you just had this guy, you just had this guy. Uh, what's this this idiot's name? He's locked up right now with like a million dollar bill. Chud the Builder. Chud the Builder going around filming for about a month and a half on his YouTube page antagonizing black people, calling them the N-word, and letting them know he has a weapon, and if they chimp out, making a soft reference to ape or primates, if they chimp out, he has he has his weapon in it and he will shoot to kill. This is what this guy was doing, and he was filming it. Law enforcement didn't bother him until he went into a white restaurant and ran up a tab and tried to leave without paying. That's that's when they got on him. And fast forward after that, he was arrested for shoot for pow powing a man that he got into a confrontation with a black man that he went up antagonizing, specifically antagonizing, and got the brakes beat off him. Then he tried to, he shot the man and didn't call the cops trying to uh play victim. And and the courts didn't let him do it. But all is to say, family, where where is where where's the hate crime bill? Specifically, specifically for foundational black Americans. You know, this case in South Carolina, you know, the verdict, that verdict was incredibly heavy, and the grief and frustration coming out of Columbia, South Carolina right now, and that is my home state, Columbia. I'll be all up and down Columbia when I go down there. You know, right now is palatable, you know, the the acquittal of Rick Chow and the killing of that 14-year-old uh Cyrus Carmack Belton. Now, we want to focus
Closing Self-Defense Loopholes
SPEAKER_00this episode on a legislative response specifically looking at how hate crime bills or protective statuses could be constructed. Right? Now, false ac for the look at the false accusations inside the store. This kid Cyrus was accused of shoplifting water. Surveillance footage conclusively prove he did not steal anything. There was no crime committed. They chased him a hundred and thirty yards and shot him in his back. Now, we advocate for a legislative shift to at least examine a hate crime frame framework. Right? And this is this is something that that needs serious attention now, not tomorrow, right now. Now, you know, many a lot of states have uh a broad self-defense or stand your ground interpretations, right? But they are they rarely are meant to protect the aggressor who initiates a pursuit. Tight leg legislative fix would explicitly strip self-defense immunities from any individual who initiates a physical pursuit of their their business or residential property based on suspected property crimes. Or they may use lethal force against an individual whose back is turned or who's actively fleeing, right? Now I don't I don't know about you, but I am I've been tired of this, I'm exhausted with this, and this you you notice every couple years this this this comes right back. It comes right back, and you get a whole bunch of uh people up on at these funerals and these memorials offering their their heartfelt prayers and and all of that malarchy. That's not what's needed. We have to highlight how systemic b biases default to threatening black black youth as existential threats, right? And this this would this would be a transforming in everyday public spaces into high stakes uh environments, the way I see it. You know, we need a legislative mandate and and uh close by mapping out what what real accountability looks like. Not just marching and drafting statues like they like we've been doing. You know, we gotta look at and we gotta look closely and close these self-defense loopholes used by some of these perpetrators, specifically the ones who target uh foundational black Americans. Excuse me about that. Just crunching on some ice. You know, it's hot, hot outside, and I'm in here shaking ice. So excuse me for that. I'll turn the volume down next time so you can't hear it. Okay, but yeah, family. This is uh let me just get a bed back in here. Yeah.
Jury Pools And The Blueprint Pattern
SPEAKER_00Now, in like I said, in the command, I just want to real quick go back to the Comelo Anthony trial. And like I said, we may be getting a verdict today. And I hope the brother beats the charges and walks home, go home with his family, and then let them move and start life over again. But there were so many. The biggest thing is that jury selection, that jury pool selection thing. There was there was not one single black person on that, on there. All white jury. They say, you know, they came some of the some of the legacy media came. Oh, they there's there they are reported uh uh one or two people of color on the jury. Yeah, okay. Now see this thing, this thing is uh let's go to some of these things, right? Let's let's just take a look at some of these things that that we need to uh hold these leaders' feet to the fire on these on this stuff. Let's look at it. The mass executioners, uh uh Dalen Roof in Charleston in 2015, Peyton Gindron in Buffalo, New York in 2022. You know, you got you got the McMichaels, Travis McMichael, Gregory and Travis McMichaels, who who uh chased down Ahmad Arbrey in 2020 because they saw a black man running down a public street, the man was jogging, and and they tried to claim self-defense, right? But it didn't work. Thank thank the universe, it didn't work. And now this this this Rick Chow. Same exact script, he falsely accuses 14-year-old Cyrus Carmack Belton of shoplifting. The child leaves, Chow doesn't call the authorities, he chooses to grab a firearm, and you can see him grabbing a pistol, exit his property, and hunt the child down for over 130 yards. When Cyrus is shot in the back, the defense successfully pivots the entire trial to make the child look like the aggressor, securing an acquittal. So our brother should walk this afternoon. He's it or whenever the verdict comes, I don't know if it's gonna be today or tomorrow. I think it's gonna be today. When that verdict comes down, man, this brother, Carmelo Anthony, should walk. But family, uh these are the things we got to think about, and we got to press these people about. And uh we have to stop looking at these in at these incidents as isolated tragedies and start recognizing. them as core as a coordinated blueprint. You understand that? These these are coordinated blueprints. Right? And the there's a lineage of antagonism. Right? And it it's it starts a lot of times it starts with these extreme ideological nuts like Dalen Roof out there in Charleston, South Carolina, and uh Peyton Gendrin in Buffalo.
Debunking The "Black On Black Crime" Deflection
SPEAKER_00These men consume hate online and take it into our sanctuaries. That's all they do. These these uh these different uh sites you go on and they got these these uh drills and these these groups this stuff is online they they do right it's all online now you'll have here you go some of the some of the some of the uh talking about our conservatives well what about black on black crime y'all don't say nothing when black people see the the let's um we're gonna we're gonna just methodically debunk that right now we're gonna methodically debunk that first of all first of first of all family there is no such thing as black on black crime there's no such thing and I know you got some some long jawed slack jawed negroes that are saying man what are you talking about? You got some stupid Negroes that that that are talk just this mushmouth just like that and we are gonna shut that down with with this pivot quickly and clean and cleanly it's what it is and you hear it mostly coming from the the black uh conservatives I call them conservatives but you the in and it's all is a a a rhetorical shell game designed to deflect from systemic accountability by confusing proximity with intent because that's what crime is that's exactly what crime is it's a it's it's a it's a geographical proximity thing it's not a it's not a race thing crime is not a race thing you know you hear people a lot of times they drop that troll what about what about black crime or you know crime as I said is a function of geo geo uh geography and proximity not race but the cases we're talking about from a from a maud aubrey to Rick Chow and to Chud the builder are about targeted selection and engineered confrontation that's what we're talking about. And we'll just just for the for those negroes we'll give uh just give um some some real st uh s uh statistics and reality to that we'll give just like maybe two or three points of that the argument white people kill white people at almost the exact same rate that black people kill black people did you know that family according to consistent FBI homicide data roughly 80% to 90% of white murder victims are killed by white perpetrators just as intracial homicide is high in black neighborhoods why because America is geographically segregated geographically segregated people commit crimes against the people who they live next to work next to go to school with there's no such thing as black on black crime family same as there's no such thing as white on white crime because the the those um those um our our uh black conservatives they'll love to tell you there's no such thing as white on white crime and I agree there's no such thing as black on black crime it's it's only proximity that's all it is let's go to the enforcement the devil standard when crime happens inside a black community the perpetrator is actively hunted arrested prosecuted and sent to prison to face the full weight of the law the community demands enforcement and the state delivers convictions now this is to that what about crowd acts like intracommunity crime goes unpunished. No, the system works exactly as designed when the offender is black the outrage in the Rick Chow verdict or the Maude Aubrey case is that the legal system attempts to carve out an exemption for outsiders who hunt us down. We are talking about equal protection under the law not a lack of accountability in our own neighborhoods is this this is either true or it's not true bringing up local street crimes to justify store owners shooting a fleeing 14 year old black child in in the back is like telling a pregnant woman who was assaulted by a stranger well statistically most women are hurt by their husbands so why are you mad at this guy? That's what some of these people tell you but one reality does not negate or excuse another it is logically fallacy used to silence black grief and legitimize state sanction or legally
Final Demand And Sign-Off
SPEAKER_00excused violence towards us with that all that in mind family we're gonna blow out of here because it's time to go and I just wanted to give you something to think about put on your mind we need a hate crime bill and in these midterms if these politicians and these officials are not talking our language we don't want to hear it we need a specific hate crime bill not a study about it not a consensus about it we need the bill passed and we're gonna go in the words of Malik big king you must respect life love justice cherish freedom and treasure the peace y'all go in peace and keep the peace and we'll be back and we'll talk again
