The USA's 250th: Touching Grass and Dirt in DC

On July 4th, 2026, Anthony drove down to Washington DC to touch grass.
That's not a metaphor. It's literally what happened -- parking briefly on a residential street off 16th, stepping out into 100 degree heat, and making contact with the soil of the capital city on the 250th anniversary of the country's founding.
What followed was a drive-home reflection on what 250 years actually means when you map it onto people rather than numbers, why complacency explains more of the world's problems than malice does, what it means to be a neurodivergent person in a country built on the courage to say "enough is enough," and why the heat of July 4th in DC feels like more than just weather right now.
Not a fireworks episode. Not a patriotic speech. Just one person, some grass, and what it means to show up -- in more ways than one -- on a date that matters.
