Billionaires, Balenciaga, Birkins, oh my!

This week, Carla and Joy explore the tiktok-amplified “movement” of black girl luxury, and its deep ties to capitalism. Using BGL as an entry point to interrogate the exploitative and exclusionary nature of capitalism, they discuss the failings of Black capitalism as a tool of liberation, celebrity participation in the system, and what true liberation looks like.
