Hey, hey, welcome to another episode of the House of CEO. I'm going to sporadically be giving you all 10 years of entrepreneurship, what I do different. Just a very short podcast episode. Because as I have shared, this is my 10th year in entrepreneurship. You all, I have learned so much and I want to share with you all. So I'm just gonna get down to it, and I just want to get down to it. And some news that I also want to share is the best ways to keep up with me is definitely going to be this podcast, you all, and my substack. If you are listening to this podcast, thank you so much. And if you are not a part of the substack, I'm gonna leave the link in the show notes for you. I am not saying that I'm not gonna be on social media, social media is always going to be near and dear to me because that is how I grew my business, but I'm just over it right now, you all. And the amount of clarity that I've gotten from not consuming content has been amazing, and I just have a different ideology about how I bring in clients, and I don't need to be doing Facebook reels or whatever you call it in order for me to do that, and so just being my authentic self through writing and speaking is really where my sweet spot is, and I just encourage you to keep following me on these platforms, and I will continue to update you as things become more aligned. So, what is one of the things in 10 years of entrepreneurship that I would do different? I would say that I would have trusted Simplicity sooner. So a lot of the rebranding that I did last year was really because of that. I had so many offers, I had so many people wanting to work with me, and it was just very, very difficult. I had so many offers, I had so many systems, and I had and I had so much complexity, and it was very, very difficult. It was difficult for somebody to hop in and help me. It was difficult for me to bring on people because I just had so much. And really, if you span out for me, I'm really running like three businesses. I have my tax prep arm. That's a business in itself. Like there are a lot of tax professionals that only do taxes, they do taxes and they do advising, and so that's a business in itself. So our model around onboarding, around offboarding, around the tax prep process during the tax season to how we unboard, what our prices look like in the systems, they're completely different, y'all, for like then from the bookkeeping side, right? Bookkeeping, I had a whole nother workflow where I unboarded differently, the systems were different, the way I was doing things were different. And then here we are with advising. We also had, oh my gosh, we had monthly bookkeeping, we had quarterly bookkeeping, we had tax preparation, or you could get them all together, or you could add advising, or you could do a la carte, or you could do it for the full package, or you could do a cleanup instead. Then you had just advising, or if you wanted to do an S Corporation, we had a package for that that also implemented bookkeeping. It was like I had it was like, I don't know what restaurant that is, that's like have it your way, or really anything you wanted, I had a package for it, and that's the reason why I believe I was so successful, and that served me for a time. So I'm never gonna be ashamed of who that person was or who or how I ran my business then because it served a purpose, it got me to where I am now, and now I'm at the point where I can simplify. I don't have to offer all of that, but I think if I'm being honest, I would have simplified really much sooner. I wouldn't have had so many packages, I wouldn't have had so many systems. I've done a whole lot of consolidating, things are so much more easier for me. And does that limit some of the people that I can work with? Yes, but the people that are really aligned, that really want that kind of support, they're willing to invest. And so at the end of the day, I think for me, this work around all of my offers, all of my systems, and all of the complexity that I had created in the very beginning was rooted in a place of scarcity. And me not wanting to turn down any client if I didn't have to, or any potential client if I didn't have to, while also realizing that I didn't want to grow a very huge firm. So that's a misalignment. So that's going back to the House of CEO curriculum where we talk about what are your values and are your values in tune with the decisions that you're making. So for me, they weren't because I had a certain value, but that's not the way my business was operating. So it was a misalignment. But I had a lot of mindset things that I had to get over with in order for me to get to a space to really span out and see the dysfunction, right? And I think it was like, I don't want to turn down a client, it was really rooted in scarcity. Like, would I be able to create that momentum again? If I turn this client down, would I be able to create that again? And so I just had a lot of stuff that I had to work on. And so really me simplifying was a gift for myself, and it was a gift of me affirming my worthiness, me affirming that I'm worthy. If I continue to operate how I was operating, to me, I would have had a hard time keeping that in my experience. And so a part of my worthiness work, a part of that work was also simplifying and the realization that everybody, I can't work with every single person that encounters my, you know, that comes into my world. So that would be something that I would have done sooner rather than later. But I needed that experience in order for me to grow, like giving it to you here as I'm in my 10th year of entrepreneurship. So hope that's helpful. I'll see you in the next episode.
