C2 - Ep49: Holden in the Smoke

The caravan nears the Crossroads—but what should be a lively waypoint filled with travelers and music now burns under a sky of black smoke. Flames lick the air. The smell of ash clings to everything. And through the haze, Holden sees something he hoped to never see again.

Nash has returned.

In this tense, cinematic episode of Twenty Sides: The Nexus, the party:

• Survives the aftermath of the Shadow Mastiff attack and continues toward Silverport
• Spots the distant smoke of the Crossroads and goes ahead to investigate
• Finds the town engulfed in fire, its streets filled with shadowed figures
• Learns that cultists and gnolls—led by a nine-foot-tall, red-eyed Nash—are behind the carnage
• Watches Holden move ahead alone, stealthing through the smoke to scout the enemy lines
• Discovers remnants of the Concord cult at work once again—burning, killing, and chanting beneath the flames

The Mind Teasers’ caravan is just minutes behind. If Holden’s wrong move gives them away, the entire caravan could be slaughtered.
