Welcome back to today's episode of The Gathering Tabernacle Podcast. On today's episode we have a short skit to show what it means to be once controlled by sin nature and then walking in righteousness with Christ Jesus. We also have Andrew Wilson sharing a powerful life changing testimony how he began to understand he doesn't have to be controlled by sin nature anymore and he can walk in the fullness that God has for him. Maybe you think you're saved, but you continuously fall into sin because the world normalizes sin and you've accepted it. Understand that you do not have to accept sin because it seems normal. Let's be changed by Christ this year to stop managing our filth. Let's be real and realize that the reason we have sin in our lives is because we are choosing to sin. We are choosing to be separated from God. Christ has done his part in abolishing sin nature and now it is our choice to walk in that righteousness He has provided. Let's be transformed in His image.

So I was off on my days. This is February 1st, and I was thinking it was Groundhog's Day. And I thought, huh. Well, that's tomorrow. But anyway, this is what the Lord said about Groundhog's Day to me. He said, How many people are watching if spring's coming or if winter will extend? I thought, well, I've done this before. How much do we put our faith in what man has said, and we have it on the news if the groundhog sees his shadow or not? Or do we put our faith in the word of God? And I thought, huh. So to me that's a superstition because I don't believe that groundhog knows anything about my God. So I thought, well, okay. So we're gonna go to Proverbs 3, and I did it in the amplified lean on. Are you leaning? Because when you're leaning, you can't stand alone. Trust in. Do I really believe the word of God? Or the weather man? Be confident. Which means I trust and I believe in the Lord with all my heart. Not this heart, my innermost being, my understanding, the spirit he gave me and my mind. So if I can trust the Lord with all my heart, that's my mind. Will, motion, and things that think. And I do not rely on your insight or understanding. In all your ways, no. You gotta know. Then you gotta recognize it. You can have knowledge, but the revelation is what makes it work. You may know about God, but if you don't have revelation about what his word says, you're not truly trusting. And you've got to acknowledge him. We've got to confess he's Lord. We gotta confess I'm healed. We gotta confess I'm delivered. We gotta confess I believe. And he will direct and make straight and plain. Straightforward. Your path. More than one. And you think, oh, the Lord's gonna direct my path. I'm walking down this road, I'm staying on. And I've been I've been pastor in this church. Yep, that's the path I'm on. Now I may need to go to Africa. Yeah. I may need to go to Salvation Army. Yeah. I may need to go to nursing home. Yeah. I may need to go to Walmart and pray for somebody. There are many paths he has for you if you trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Isn't this exciting? Today you know he's got more for you than you thought he had. I'm thinking, oh my goodness. Woo! What a God we serve. Hallelujah. Father, you're faithful. Father, you are true and you do not lie. Lord, thank you for this house. Thank you for these people. Today they receive new wisdom and revelation and knowledge of who they are in you, Lord, today as we celebrate you, today as we worship you, today as we get excited about everything you've done in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah!

SPEAKER_04

Thank you, Lord, for your blood, Lord. Thank you, Lord, for without the shedding of blood. There is no remission of sin. Thank you, Lord, that there is no power in the blood. There's power, power, wonder working power in the blood of the land, Lord. It reaches to the highest amount. It reaches to the highest part of your life. The highest part of your life is your head. It reaches the part of your thing. You think I clear my mind. The blood of Christ in your mind. We're in line with the word of God. It reaches the help to the lowest of mouth. Every situation that might be going on in your life. Everything it might be Everything it might be like this is impossible. No one is talking about the mouth. What's the mouth going on in your life today? What's the thing in front of you in your thing? Oh my god. Oh my god, I need to speak to that mouth. Maybe it's out of the lead. You need to be speaking to the mountain act. Maybe it's taken to the disease. You need to be speaking to the mountain act. Maybe it's your final You need to be speaking to the mountain act. But I'm telling you, today is the day! Today is the day the Lord has made Let us rejoice and be glad! We praise you, Lord! We praise your holy name! We praise your holy name! Praise your Lord, my eyes are being made whole in Jesus' name. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord. Thank you, Lord, thank you, Lord. You are the great I am that lives in me! Thank you, Lord, for new creations in Christ, Lord, Lord, you are the great I am! Thank you, Lord, you are we praise you, Lord! Your name is great! Your name is worthy to be praised! And Lord, Lord, if your name is great, then you're worthy to be praised! You live in us, Lord! Lord and what lives in us is worthy to be praised! Because it's Christ in me! The hope of glory! It's Christ in me, the hope of glory! Thank you, Lord! When we are live to you, Lord, we are new creation in Christ, Lord! The whole thing are gone, we all the whole things have we gone new! Like a guy, I like rebuild, I like like refurbing, I like taking out the big man and put a little makeup on it! Oh when you're a guy here, you're a new creation! You're a new creation! The old god! If you choose to let it be gone, so we speak life in this house today. We speak life and life abundantly because that's what the Lord said. The Lord said, I've come so you can have life and have life more abundantly, Lord. So we praise you, Lord. We praise you, Lord, in Jesus' mighty name. Amen. Amen. Woo! Amen. What about them blood songs? What about them blood songs? Amen. Is that all right with you, Liam? Did you like that one? That was a good one. Amen. That was good, wasn't it? Amen. Amen. I'm thinking, I think we need a blood song every week. Right? Every week. Because there's power in the blood. There's life in the blood. You know, if you didn't have any blood in your body, there wouldn't be no life in you. Because your life comes from your blood. I guess if your blood wasn't throwing it flowing in your body, right? Because your spirit can leave, your blood can still be in there, but there is power in the blood. We thank you, Lord, that there is power in the blood. We thank you, Lord, that there is life in the blood. We thank you, Lord, you have took on our sicknesses and bore our diseases, Lord. We thank you, Lord, that that that you are a way. You are the way. You are the way, the truth, and the life. You are the way. He's the way. What is he?

SPEAKER_03

The way.

SPEAKER_04

The way. Good job. You're listening. I'm proud of you. He is the way. Not a way. He is the way. He is the way.

SPEAKER_03

The truth.

SPEAKER_04

Amen. He is the way, the truth. You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. And he is the life. I've come so you could have life and have more have it more abundantly. See, without him, you don't have life. You might think you have life, but you don't have life. You're actually just walking around, walking, walking around like dead, like like living dead. But praise you, Lord. That's exciting. I don't know about you, but I'm excited. That's good stuff. Amen. I'm so excited. We got some actors here today. I need you guys to know they're not they're not paid actors. When we get done, you might say, I I I understand they're not paid. Right? But they're really good. And they're all spirit-filled. Amen. And I encourage you to come to prayer. You know, I encourage you to to be dedicated to come to prayer. I I encourage you, you know, you know, looking as as we begin to look and begin to see, you know, you know, what's happening in in prayer, it's forming a bond. It's forming forming a bond among people. Uh and not that we don't have a bond with all of you. You know, you can twist everything, you can take everything anyone says, and you can always like you can twist it any way you want. But there there is a bond. There is an intimacy of praying together and coming, going after the face of God and seeking his face and seeking his presence and and seeking his glory and and setting there and praying the word. This morning we was kind of praying the word, and it was a beautiful thing as people are up there and they were were praying. Uh we was talking about uh uh the Lord's prayer and our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. And I just had them concentrating on how holy his name was and then and then what that meant to to each one. And as they begin up begin to get up there and then just to speak, and you're like, oh yeah, you know, I didn't think about it quite like that way. Or yes, man, it is holy, or man, this is beautiful to see these these people up there just just open their heart up to you, Lord, but but but it creates a a bond. But I was thinking, you know, you should come. And then I was thinking this. I was thinking, sometimes I shouldn't think. Does that mean you shouldn't speak? But I was thinking, maybe this summer you think, well, I can just pray at home. I can just pray at home. You you can pray at home. I get that, and you should pray at home, but you can't pray as a body at home. At home. You have to be here to here to pray as a body. So I was thinking like like vacation. So I'm thinking, man, you know, where would you like to go on vacation this year? You shouldn't sit up front if you didn't want to be picked on. If you go anywhere in the world, where would you want to go on vacation?

SPEAKER_03

Florida.

SPEAKER_04

Florida. There you go. Praise the Lord. I'll tell you what we're gonna do. This year, we're gonna go to Florida. But we're just gonna set at home and we're gonna put it on the TV. We're gonna just gonna sit there and then then we'll set it. And we can even do it today if you wanted to. If you want to go ahead and go today, we can just sit in front of the TV and then and then just watch watch Florida and watch the beaches on pre- Yeah, we'll even turn the temperature up to above freezing. Would you think that'd be very fun? How come? Because why why you why wouldn't that be fun? Because it's boring just because it's boring just cause because you want to you want to be there and part of the action, right? And I know I know for people uh that prayer sometimes is it's actually the enemy putting it in your head, but say, Well, you don't really need to go there and pray. You're you're it's really not making that much difference. Right? Well just sleep in today, it's cold today. Well or or maybe you're like me on some stuff. Well, I'll go next week. And then here here in a here in about two months we're gonna be in this thing for five years, and then next week has never game. And we sit there. But I encourage you, man, step in, start Wednesday night, 5 45, uh, Saturday night, 5 o'clock, Sunday mornings 9 30. Uh come in, get get joined in prayer. Someone asked me to earlier day, well, well, could I wear my my headphones when I come and pray? That's how I pray at home. Like, you can wear your headphones. I think it's exciting. What I'm excited about is you being in this room praying together with the body. However, that has to work. You can come in here and and read your Bible. Read your it's just like, well, I can't pray that long. Well, no one can pray that long until they pray that long. But you can sit that long. We sit and watch TV all the time that long. We sit and go watch a ballgame that long. We lay down and get massages for that long, and and you know, we don't have no issues, but but but I encourage you to come and just to see the the transformation that that prayer makes in your life. He said, My you know, he said my house should be called a house of prayer. He didn't say in this house should be called a house of prayer. He said in my house should be called a house of prayer, and you're the house of prayer, so so prayer should be a lifestyle still, but then as we come together, it's it's a lifestyle of of unity together when we meet when the body meets together. Amen. Is that good stuff? Um now let's talk about tithes and offerings. I don't want to talk about tithes and offerings. Well, you're the one that we need to be talking to. I'll trust in the Lord with everything, but I wish he quit talking about the money. So, really, you wouldn't trust the Lord with everything. I think the first thing we'll do is we'll trust the Lord with our heart, and the last thing we want to trust him with is our wallet. Right? Because I have control over my wallet. Unless he says, give it to me, right? Thank you for the one laugh from the pastor's wife in the front row. Oh, anyway, but Malachi, right? Malachi. Chapter 3. Okay. Thank you. Yep. From the days of your fathers, you have gone away from my ordinances and have not kept them. Return to me and I will return to you. In the New Living Translation, at the very last part of that verse, it says, it says, uh Oh, go ahead. You're I'm sorry. Says the Lord of hosts, but you said, in what way shall we return? So in the New Living Translation says, We we haven't went anywhere. Why should why how can we return if we hadn't went anywhere? Okay. Verse 8. Well, a man robbed God, yet you have robbed me, but I say, but you I say, in what way have you have we robbed you in tithes and offerings? You are cursed with a curse, for you have robbed me, even this whole nation. Bring all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house, and try me now in this, says the Lord of hosts. If I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out to you such a blessing that there will not be enough room even to receive it. Did you ever think about tithing being a devil rebuking tool? Well, I don't want to tithe. Is the devil bothering you? Well, yeah. But that don't have nothing to do with tithing. Well, it says here, it says You're doing great. One more, verse 11. And I will rebuke the devourer for your sake, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground. You can leave it here, nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit. And I will destroy the devourer for your sake, so that he will not destroy the fruit of your ground. And I was thinking, well, it's a fruit of the ground. My oranges aren't growing very good. My tomato plants aren't growing very good. I was thinking, fruit of the ground. So we will not see we we produce fruit. Fruit grows on trees, right? So it has to have to be something we produce. So he will not destroy your love, joy, peace, patience, goodness, kindness. So we're obedient to him in our actions, we're obedient to him with our thoughts, we're obedient to him with our actions, we're obedient to him in our mind, will, and emotions, we're obedient to him in our in our flesh. And that is also obedient to him in your finances. Well, you're just trying to get my money. Well, if you have the attitude that I'm trying to get your money, then that's the wrong attitude to have. See, the attitude, what I want you to have is the blessings, and what I want is the devourer rebuked for your sake. Because I want you to be fruitful. Because he told us to be fruitful and multiply. Amen. Time and time again, I hear people like, man, my life was a wreck until I started actually tithing. And it was the hardest thing I ever did because I had more month than I had money. See, that that that's a thing. We're like, man, Lord, I got I got more month than I got money. I think the Lord would be like, what are you spending your money on for the month? See, there there's some needs that or some things, some wants in our life that that that that we don't actually need. There's instances in our life where we spend a lot of money and we don't even realize we spend it. Well, it's just five dollars a day. It's just seven dollars a day. See, now we're at seven dollars a day, we're at two hundred dollars a month, we're at twenty four hundred dollars a year, you know, and and and different things. But no, no, we're gonna be fruitful and multiply, and and I'm telling you, all your needs are met in Christ Jesus. Well, I don't believe that. Well, that's the problem. It's a problem. Like if you have faith and do not doubt, well, I'm gonna start giving, but I doubt it'll work. Don't don't start. Don't start. I'm gonna start giving and it's gonna work. How can you promise me it's gonna work? Because the word works. The word works. We we walk by faith and not by sight. Lord, Lord, I'm starting today. Lord, I'm trusting you with my finances, Lord. Lord, I will have more month than money. Lord, show me, Lord, what I need to be doing for you. That's good stuff. Nor shall the vine fail to bear fruit for you in the field. Says the Lord of hosts. And all the nations will call you blessed. Why are they calling you blessed? Because you have a giving, loving heart that's producing fruit. Man, why are they being so blessed? Because they are obedient to the word of God. They're letting them control their mind, will, and emotions. They're letting them control their their pocketbook, they're letting them control their health, they're letting them control, letting them have control of every aspect of their life. For you will be a delightful land, says the Lord of hosts. Is that it? Praise the Lord. There you go. See, I like it when someone says truth. Uh-oh, Father, we or Usher's gonna go ahead and come. Father, we praise you. Father, we thank you, Lord. Lord, that we get to give, Lord, that we get to sow into the kingdom of God, Lord, that we trust you with all of our heart, and we lean not on our own understanding, Lord. We thank you, Lord, that that that tithes and offerings are a devil rebuking tool, Lord. Lord, and we are going to be fruitful and we are going to multiply. We're gonna multiply in knowledge and wisdom, gonna multiply in in health, gonna multiply in in finances, gonna multiply in all your promises in Jesus' name. Amen. Amen. It was such a bl I talked about it earlier, but it's such a blessing in in in prayer this morning, and people people praying, going after the face of God, and then getting up, and I was encouraging them, you know, to get up and and speak, and then we we build off each other on on you know our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. We we build off each other and and and the way the Lord was was speaking to people and uh I was so uh as blessed and all of it that afterwards uh it's actually Cameron, he's not a you don't matter, Beth. At the end, Cameron came up there and says, But I wasn't gonna get up there. Because the enemy kept speaking into my head. But he's like, you know what? I have not been given a spirit of fear, but a power, love, and a sound mind, and I am gonna get up there. I am not gonna be controlled by fear. Amen. Thank you. But that's that's a choice that you have to make. That's that's a choice that he had to make. See, there's there's a lot of choices. Did I put uh Philippians in there for I believe I did? All right, how I praise the Lord that you are concerned about me again. I know you have always been concerned for me, but you didn't have the chance to help me. Now not that I was ever in need, for I have. Leave it there. For I have learned how to be content in whatever I have. So this is the Apostle Paul speaking here. Right? And he's like, like I have learned to be content in whatever situation. So so are you are you content in every situation that you're in? You know, I think a lot of times we maybe be like, well, the Lord didn't bless me this week, so I'm not going to tithe. Lord, the Lord didn't bless me this week, so I'm not going to go to church. Well, the Lord didn't bless me this week, so I'm not going to do this. So, so, so, but, but, but to be content in what you have. Man, I would really like to have a steak this week, but that's just not working out for me. It's going to have to be chicken. It's going to have to be to be this or that. But but does that affect does that affect your mind? Well, I just, I'm sitting there and I'm eating this chicken, but I just really, really like to have the steak. But have you learned to be content in whatever situation you're in? Maybe there's something going on with uh with a family member. I'd mentioned one I had on Wednesday night with a family member, but maybe there's a situation going on with a family member, and it and it's and it's getting you all all riled up. And when it gets you all riled up, that actually gets your eyes off Jesus. But but but have you learned to be content in that situation? Because what's trying to happen is it's trying to destroy your walk with Christ. See, the enemy will use whatever he can to get to you. You. So Paul's like, I have learned to be content in whatever I have. I've learned to be content. You know, he talks about perils, he talks about shipwrecks, he talks about lack, he talks about abundance. You know, that that can go both ways. We always seem to look at as lack as that, but but are you happy with the abundance? See, a lot of times when we when we when we have abundance, we're still not fulfilled because it's like, man, I just I just need more. So either way, like like I'm happy with I'm happy with the stake, but I would really like to have ten stakes. You know. Anyway, praise the Lord. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. For I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. Everybody knows that one. I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. So, so next time you're you're has anyone ever been out on the town and you're talking to them and and they're like, Well, but I can do everything through Christ who gives me strength. Anyone ever come said that to you? They say that to you, oh yeah. Say that to you and say, Well, well, have you learned to do that? Like we're sitting here and we're and we're talking these words, but faith is action. You know, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. Okay, have you learned to do that? What? Well, like the the the three verses before that says you gotta learn to do that. Paul talks about he he learning to do that. Because that's what's in you. See, in Christ, you are new creations. Uh, you know, I mentioned uh like the like the in him, in whom, uh, in Christ, uh the different um verses that have that in them, and it shows you what you have in Christ. So my goal is to get a board, and it's gonna be our in board. In board. It's gonna be our in Christ board, our in whom board, it's gonna be our in him board. And when you've when you come across a verse that has one of the three in there, in Christ, in him, in whom, when you come across a verse that has that in there, that speaks to you, that speaks revelation to you, then let's write that, come and write it on the board. You can either write the whole verse or you can write just just the uh the verse itself and then put your name by it. And and let's be changed by Christ this year. You know, not by not by me. You know, I I can't change you, but but but my goal is to is to for you to trust Christ and to let Him change you. My goal is you to be conformed into the image of God. That's good stuff. So remind me to get a board. You got it, you got it down? That's a that's a big board. Maybe we'll use the whole wall. We'll see. That'd be I think that'd be awesome. Next, next week, make a chalk wall. There you go. No, we've got to put chalk on the list. All right. So so we've been talking about uh the last few weeks about about like sin nature and and uh uh when when Jesus was there, John the Baptist, you know, he said, Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world, you know. And and we've talked about about man and how how man, how God created Adam and Eve, and then Adam and Eve fell in the garden, and when they fell in the garden, they give dominion over uh uh to Satan. They give dominion over to Satan. And also when they give dominion over to Satan, then then that that sin nature entered into into Adam and Eve. See, they had a they had a righteous nature, but that sin nature entered into to Adam and Eve. But God loved us so much that he gave his only begotten son and he provides us away. So behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. Behold the Lamb of God that takes away your your nature to sin, your your wants, your desires, your your your your wants and your desires to sin. He he takes that away when you receive him as your Savior. Now there might be some things that we need to work on, or you need to work on with your mind, will, and emotions in the flesh after that. But but if you're born again, the old is gone. We talked that the old is gone. Behold, all things have become new. So we're gonna go after this. So if we can get Adam and Eve and we might be on Broadway before we know it. We got our our narrator, Josh. We got Adam right here, and we have the gardener. And then I'm Action. Action. You're Action 12 news reporters coming to you from the gathering tabernacle in Rocky Comfort, Missouri. You're about to witness something that you never have. That's not even part of it. Something that you had before. So all right. You want to grab that other mic up here too?

SPEAKER_06

I just can't do right, no matter how hard I try. I always do.

SPEAKER_02

See the difference? The bucket itself is the sin nature. The inner tendencies and the broken part of the human condition. The action the actions like anger and lies are the sins, the outward actions that come from the nature.

SPEAKER_04

There you go, Adam. Let's toss some disobedience into this too.

SPEAKER_05

I'm a sinner, so I said, Adam, you were trying to manage your filth.

SPEAKER_06

I know, it's my sin nature.

SPEAKER_05

It is, but it doesn't have to be. Would you like to have a new nature? A righteous nature. I've come to provide a new nature. You're no longer just a sinner. You are You now have a righteous nature.

SPEAKER_02

I should probably just do that. Through grace, the nature of the heart is changed.

SPEAKER_04

I got some lies here. Hey, remember that lie we No, I don't.

SPEAKER_06

I don't do that anymore. That's not who I am now.

SPEAKER_04

Amen. Check that out. That's not who you are anymore. All right. We're gonna keep Adam up here. Everyone give Adam a hand. Yeah. So in we'll go back, we'll go to Romans uh chapter 6, starting in verse. I told them verse 15, so we may go back just a little bit before that and talk about it.

unknown

Okay.

SPEAKER_04

I'll just read this, you don't have to go there. But in in uh sorry. Actually, Matty, if you can go to Romans 6 and starting in verse, yeah, I don't know, seven. So so we have to begin to understand that Christ came to save you from your sin. He didn't, you know, think, well, he came to save you from from so you quit lying. No, he come to save you from the nature that is causing you to lie. And when that nature that is causing you to lie, then you won't lie no more. If it's causing you to hate, if it's causing you know sickness in your body or whatever it may be. But but he come, the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world. He come to take away your the nature of sin in your life. Now we but we cannot be conformed to this world, but we have to be transformed by the renewing of our minds, right? So, so for he who has died has been freed from sin. So, so he who has died to Christ, to their self, has been freed from their sin nature, and then they have a righteousness nature. This might get confusing, but you're doing great. Hold the righteous one right now. Now, if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him. Knowing that Christ, having been raised from the dead, dies no more, death no longer has dominion over him. For the death that he died, he died to sin once and for all, but the life that he lives, he lives to God. See the life of life of righteousness, life of righteousness to God. Verse 11. Likewise, you also reckon yourselves to be dead, be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Therefore, do not let sin. It don't say, therefore, sin won't reign in your mortal body. Right? It says, Therefore, do not let sin reign in your mortal body that you should obey its lust. So, so who is it up to if sin reigns in our mortal body? It's up to us if we're gonna have a choice. Are we gonna let sin reign in our mortal body and obey its lust? And do not present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourself to God as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to God. For sin shall not have dominion over you, for you are not under law, but under grace. All right, verse 15. What then shall we sin because we are not under law, but under grace? You know, you know what's interesting here. There's there's three times in here when Paul's talking about this. In 6.1, he says, What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? And he's like, No way. What then shall we sin because we are not under the law, but under grace? Well, certainly not that too. So what shall we say then in in in uh 7-7 it says, What shall we say then is the law sin? Certainly not. So so Paul's going after after sin like crazy here and showing us what it is to how it is to walk in Christ. All right, verse 16. Do you not know that whom you present yourselves slave to, obey, you are that one's slaves whom you obey, whether of sin leading to death or of obedience leading to righteousness. Alright, so so he gives he gives you a choice there, two choices. You have a choice who you're going to obey, right? Whether you're gonna obey, you're gonna obey uh life in Christ Jesus, whether you're gonna obey them or sin leading to righteousness. Whether you, whether of sin leading to death, or of obedience leading to righteousness. Alright, so you have a choice. Can you hold both of them? Well, he's saying is you have a choice who you're gonna serve. You're either gonna choose, you're either gonna serve sin nature or you're gonna serve righteous nature. Right? You see it there? You are that one's slaves whom you obey. I have learned. Okay? I have learned how to do this. You are slaves of who you choose to obey. Alright, 17. But God betanked that though you were slaves of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart the form of doctrine to which you were delivered. And having been set free from sin, you become slaves of righteousness. So having been set free from the nature of sin, you become slaves to righteous. But it's it's a choice on what you have to do. Right, verse 18. All right. And having been set free from sin, you become slaves of righteousness. 19. I speak in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh, for just as you presented your members as slaves of uncleanness and lawless leading to more lawlessness, so now present your members of slaves of righteousness for holiness. So, so I I I can't get over this enough. Like, like I can't go over this enough. Who you present yourself to is what's gonna produce in your body. Okay. As for me and my house, we're gonna serve the Lord. All right, verse 20. For when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regards to righteousness. In the New Living Translation, in verse 20, it says, When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. So, Andrew. He got his own microphone. Did you have a life before you were born again?

SPEAKER_06

Yes.

SPEAKER_04

There you go. We all have a life before we're born again, right? So, as I was as I was thinking about this, it says, when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regard to righteousness. Now, Andrew, he was up here, and we did them signs that one day, and we was picking out, you know, who is what, and and you remember what what Andrew's sign was? Nope, anyone remember it? Yeah. He said, I was a drug dealer, but now I'm a hope dealer. Right? So, so think about this. So, so when you was a a drug dealer, what was you being controlled by?

SPEAKER_06

My sin nature.

SPEAKER_04

So it was just the nature that you had. Did you did you even think about being wrong what you were doing, or was it just something you just did?

SPEAKER_06

I knew it was wrong. I had the choice. I I grew up in church and I I made the decision to live in sin nature.

SPEAKER_04

Right. So you knew it was wrong, but but you kept you kept going on, just just living in the the sin nature by by your choice, like you just said. Yeah. Like we can know right from wrong, but you know what? No, I'm just not gonna accept Christ as my Lord. I I'm just gonna keep living the way I am. Right? So, so we even though what I'm getting to is, is it 20 still up there? When you were slaves to sin, you were free from the obligation to do right. So, so you didn't do right because he was doing wrong. He was living a lifestyle of wrong, even though he knew to do right. He was free from the law of righteousness, free to do right because he was sold under sin. He he was enslaved by sin, he was controlled by sin. Confusing or make sense? Make sense? So he knew what to do right, but he chose not to. He chose to follow his sin nature, the nature that was inside him, and then that's who he was a slave to, because it's talking about slaves and stuff here, it's talking about slaves. That's who he was a slave to. So the slave, Satan, was his master. From the choices that he admittingly made. Sin was his master. So the obligation to do right wasn't even a thought, because his master was leading him in a different direction. Okay. So for when you were slaves of sin, you were free in regards to righteousness. Why are you free in regards to righteousness? Because you're a slave to sin, your master's sin. All right. What fruit did you have in the things of which you were now ashamed of? What? It's right there. What fruit did you have then in the things of which you now are ashamed of? For the end of those things is death. So so what what was your sin nature lifestyle producing in your life?

unknown

Death.

SPEAKER_04

Right, it's producing death, but but uh, and this definitely wasn't rehearsed, you can tell. So so I think as a a drug dealer, your main goal is to sell drugs, right? Like it's not complicating. So so you don't matter who you sell drugs to, just as long as you can sell drugs. Right. Right? Fair statement? Yeah. Fair statement, okay. So so is there some things like like so our goal, you know, when our when our sin nature, you know, our goal is you know, mean I don't care what anyone else thinks. I don't care what they do. You know, I'm gonna get to the top of the ladder in this business, and I don't care who I have to step on, who I have to can we say crap? I don't care who I have to crap on. I I'm gonna get to the top of this because my nature is I want to be the best. My nature is I'm gonna have a name for myself. My nature is is I'm gonna do this. And then as you as you stepped your way to the top, as you step your way to their top, we we kept we kept stepping on all these other people and blacking their eyes and kicking them in the guts, and you know, and I'm thinking as a as a someone that actually sold drugs or something, like like, are you ever ashamed that like we sold these drugs to someone but and now they're hooked on the drugs?

SPEAKER_06

That wasn't at the time.

SPEAKER_04

Right. It wasn't at the time, yeah. Because the nature was, then we just got to sell drugs. But what it's saying is, what fruit did you have then in the things which you are now ashamed of? See, see, I'm ashamed I used to live that lifestyle like that. I'm ashamed I used to live a lifestyle of a sin nature. I I'm ashamed of some of the thoughts that that I used to have. I'm I'm ashamed of some of the things I used to do to try to make myself look good. It's quiet in here today. In the New Living Translation, it says, and what was the result? You are now ashamed of the things you used to do, the things that end in eternal doom. Verse 22. Always like it, you know, most of the time, like it's always great when there's a but. Right? You know, there's a there's a but. I wonder where the butt's gonna be at in your life today. I wonder where the butt's gonna be at with the situations going on in your life today. You know, he used to have a lifestyle of this, but now, but now having been set free from sin and having become slaves of God, you have your fruit to holiness and the end, everlasting life. So when I think about like like the fruit, like like in Andrew's life, you know, I've uh they've been coming here a little over a year, I've known them probably three three years, maybe, three or four years, maybe. But uh, you know, to to see that the the the fruit. in andrew's life to see the the the love that just pours out of andrew you know he he's he's just a big old teddy bear anyone that knows him he he really is just a just a big old teddy bear he might put on this this facade of being tough but I don't know if he really does that but no he don't really put that that on there but but but just his heart when you get to know him it's just like knowing Christ and that that's what we should be like Lord I'm going for you Lord Lord I'm trusting in you and and that's what this intimacy does when we come together and we go after the Lord and it builds these these bonds in us and and revelation begins to come in you that's good stuff it says in verse 23 for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord so when you think about the wages of of sin the wages of the the sin nature so the so let's say you're working for sin nature anybody want to sign up I think I'll get a job working for sin right and but but there's a payment for working for sin death for the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.

SPEAKER_07

Amen so so the wages there's a cost for sin and Jesus gave his life for our sin he took on our sin nature so we could live so in return we die we choose we choose to die to the sin nature see we when we receive him as savior then we receive him as savor so he can live in us because in Christ you are a new creation it is a literal place in Christ is a place you can you actually are great when when something comes against you when when something comes at you and you know a you're not just a measly bum trying to make it through this world oh poor poor me poor poor pitiful me do we ever look back and and and see christ in the Bible and see see him going through there and Jesus like man I'm just I'm just broke and broke busted and disgusted see we think that'd be crazy if Jesus said no we're we're broke busted and disgusted well I'm just so sick I'm just so this I'm just so that can't believe they did this to me can't believe they did that to me and and and and we think about all these things but but he never said that see that that that that nature wasn't in him and he's in you it's Christ in you so we're gonna get take these verses and put them up there and they're things you have in Christ and we live by what they say thank you Lord you sent your word and healed me thank you Lord you took all my sicknesses and bore my infirmities thank you Lord that by your stripes I'm healed and the gift of God so think about a gift I have a gift for you see it's it's something that you can't earn it something that's freely given you you don't earn it by doing good you don't earn it by living a good life you have to give up your life and receive his for eternal life you have to give up your way and take his way you have to give up what you thought was truth and and take his truth right about um what does um holiness you know mean and I was thinking about and I didn't share it because I thought it it was a little you know it just didn't apply but now I see it really applies but um I was thinking about what does righteousness mean and I had a vision of Cro Magnum man and then you had God create Adam and Cro Magnum man or you know you just think about a lost really a lost person just operating in the world living you know food whatever and then you have Adam who was hearing from God conversing with God and then when you were you know Andrew you know it really touched me when you heard from God to have that um you know the conference yeah the crusade and that's the difference between what are you know like the slave to um sin well our master who we're hearing from who's directing and trying to influence us versus righteousness we and we we have only bridged started bridging that I mean we could have a daily or for me I've only started to bridge it wow this is alive daily God's trying to communicate influence your path guide make your path straight you know and that's and that's where Sarah was bringing out earlier and I was like wow this is alive righteousness is really a constant relationship and that and I never I mean I just never really understood that out of other people but I never really understood that sin to slave sin to right you know you know a slave to God I I've never really understood that and now I'm starting to put it in my perspective but it's that cromagna man helps me I don't know it just kind of helps me look at you got people lost and they're like a cromagna man they're just their daily life is a chore. You know there's not they don't have the joy you know you know they don't have the fruits of the spirit because it's not there you know Amen.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you we can all stand so I don't know where you're where you're at today I don't know what's going on in your life today but but maybe you're actually being led by by sin nature and if you're being led by by sin nature then then you never have surrendered your life to Christ you never have have received him as Savior so so if that's you today we'll give you the the opportunity see see it's a choice we we have learned it's a choice to receive him as your Savior it's a choice to to confess him as Lord it's a choice to believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead it it it's a choice to do that and if that's you today we'd love for you to step out come up here we come into agreement with you thank you Lord thank you Lord you have come to set us free from sin thank you Lord there's no condemnation in you thank you Lord your promises are in you yes and in you amen or maybe I think this is a I think this is a big one that we have to get real with ourselves and realize I am born again I don't have that nature of sin in me see it didn't say you wouldn't quit sinning it said the nature of sin is not in you so if the nature so if you're still sinning but the nature of sin's not in you then we have to own that we're the reason the sin is happening in our lives and we'd love to come into agreement maybe you need some deliverance maybe you need repentance maybe you need to confess some stuff I don't you know I don't know I don't know what it is but I know that in Christ we're new creations I know he took on our sicknesses and bore our diseases I know that by his stripes we're healed I know that that he loves you and I know that as a born-again believer with no sin nature no nature sin that when I sin it is my choice to sin it's my choice well the devil made me do it that's not true come here Andrew He said it said it's not my nature the devil made me do it no you've seen him before when he said here here's some lies right you say well here's some lies he's like no no that's not who I am okay he could have said here's some lies oh yeah I used to always lie see we have to learn see I think we think the Lord comes in and and he does he comes in and the Spirit of God comes and dwells inside you and you you do get a new nature but you don't get a new mind that's why it says do not be conformed to the world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind but but but you get this new nature and then when you when you become born again it's like I can't do that no more I'm gonna have him tell you about you can just share it just tell him about your salvation experience.

SPEAKER_06

So it was I met Jess and Jake sit down and be a while. No I'm just kidding I met Jess I actually used to uh sell stuff to her and uh that went on for for years and uh eventually I finally I asked her out and stuff. We started dating and moved in with each other and it was shortly after that like I didn't tell her at the time but like well I s I stopped selling drugs because you know she had kids and stuff so we were together and I was like well I don't need to be doing this with kids in the house you know and uh so anyway I I was still s I smoked pot a lot. That's main that's the main thing I'd done was smoke weed. I was still smoking and stuff. I had no intentions for quitting. I really didn't want to quit but I it started uh giving me really bad anxiety and panic attacks and stuff. So I quit for a few days. I'd start again just to see if that's what it was and you know it kept kept doing it to me and I'd in my in my in my mind I guess I was thinking like man maybe the Lord's trying to say something here. Maybe he's trying to take this from me and so one day I told her I was like hey maybe we should start going to church again. Maybe we should go to church or something. I don't I don't remember exactly So we we did we started going to church at Aurora Faithful Gospel which is also where we met Josh and Corlin at and uh there it it wasn't like the first time I went but after we'd gone for I don't know it might have been six months or so that's when I gave my life back to the Lord and I said you know give everything to you and I lay lay it all down and but that was just the salvation part of it you know I started growing a little more and more we had started coming here on Friday nights Josh Corlin told us about it and we started coming here. And it really started growing and growing more and just getting deeper and deeper in the Word with him and that's still a daily choice that I have to make though I go I my brother we we all live on me and my brother live on the same property and he lives behind me in a house and I go down to his house occasionally and they still they they smoke and stuff and I go down there and sometimes I'm like man that smells good you know I just remember and I'm like no I don't that's not me.

SPEAKER_01

That's not my nature and that's not who I am anymore so I you know it's still a man so so you have have a choice of of who you're gonna serve stand up sat down fight fight fight right lean to the left lean to the right stand up sat down I remember way too many cheers we'll stand up again and then you can leave so whatever it may be to to sit there and own it that you know it it's it's my choice that I made to do this we've had choices in our life that we've made that's got us into financial binds by my own choice you've got choices you make that hinder relationships you got choices you make that that hinder your health you know to set there and sit there and own it no Lord I give my life to you but Lord I haven't been treating your temple like it should be treated I haven't been putting into your temple what needs to be put into it that's spiritual and physical I haven't been I haven't been feeding your temple the the word of God I hadn't been praying in your temple I hadn't been been seeking you then as far as as your as your physical side of it you know Lord I hadn't been eating what I should be eating I promise you the spirit in you doesn't want a cigarette the spirit in you doesn't want you eating stuff that would cause you to have cholesterol diabetes the spirit of you and God in you does not want you to be have have anxiety depression see we don't see none of that we don't see none of that with Jesus well the 12 disciples were all off just having a big time they was Alpha having a big time in Jesus so whatever it may be in your life whatever you need agreement with we're not here to we're here for you to be set free we love you guys we love everybody we love in in general and God loves you whatever situation may be going on in your life he don't want you to keep whatever situation is going in your life that's not a him he don't want you to keep going through that same situation because there's power in the blood we apply that to every situation that's going on hallelujah um I'm just struggling with this but I'm working on it Lord I'm working on it um it's it I read in the Bible where it says we will be accounted for for every idle word every negative word that we speak out of our mouths because that's whether you think about it or not it's still a sin nature when we speak negativity and we speak uh all these idle words that we're speaking it's still walking in a sin nature and I'm struggling with this but I'm working on it very it's hard it's so hard but the Lord can see us through this and we gotta stop all this negative talking and talk positive and go forward in the name of Jesus going forward and speaking positive words out of our mouths and and not negative words.

SPEAKER_04

Thank you Lord Amen Sarah pray for you any anyone anyone else like with the same thing like man I've got to quit speaking the way I speak there's so many times that I'll be like just want to say something but like no thought you're gonna change thought you're gonna change thought you don't line up with the word of God see we're talking about about action there earlier see it becomes a thought and then what you do with that thought then it becomes action like you said we're gonna we're gonna be think about we'll be held accountable for every word oh man Lord thank you thank you Lord may your words be our words Lord Lord may our thoughts be your thoughts Lord thank you Lord that that we have the power in us Lord because in Christ for new creations Lord we have the power in us to take every thought that exalts itself against you God and make it obedient to the word make it obedient to Christ thank you Lord we're we're moved by faith Lord and not by sight Lord Lord we're not moved by by what we see Lord Lord we're moved by what you did Lord we're moved by you taking on flesh and dwelling among us Lord we're moved by you Lord taking the stripes for our healing and for our deliverance we're moved by you Lord shedding your blood for us we're moved by you Lord rising again Lord we're rising again Lord thank you Lord you are the risen Savior Lord we praise you Lord Lord and thank you Lord you chose to come and dwell in us Lord in a temple made without hands Lord Lord and we have power and we have authority Lord in you in you Lord we have power and authority Lord we have an identity in you Lord Lord we don't identify with with our past Lord we don't identify with with what we used to do we don't identify with what we used to think we don't identify with that Lord Lord we identify as being we identify with you Jesus we identify as being Christ like we identify as being being new we identify as being righteous we identify as being holy Lord Lord as our thoughts are your thoughts Lord we praise you Lord we praise your holy name Lord we praise your holy name Lord thank you Lord thank you Lord man it just excites you all over when the oldest one here in the church is like man I gotta get my thought life straight I'm held accountable for every idle word of like yes oh Father show us where we fail you Lord are our hands clean or our hearts pure Father we praise you Father, we thank you, Lord. We thank you, Lord God. And here's what we want from you, Lord. We want you to give us the spirit of wisdom and revelation and the knowledge of you so that the eyes of our understanding would be enlightened. We want to know your call on our life, the inheritance that belongs to us, and the authority we have in you as believers. We thank you, Lord, for helping us see more clearly. Our greatest need is a spirit of wisdom and revelation. I thank you, Lord, for opening my eyes. Father God, I pray that you would strengthen our inner man through your spirit, reveal to us your unlimited riches and glory, that the faith of Christ would be released on the inside of us, and he would become our very source of life. That we may be able to comprehend with all the other saints your intimate, far-reaching love of Christ, how enduring and personal it is beyond measure, until we are filled, overflowing with your fullness, God, and to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge. Because you're able to exceedingly abundantly above all we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. In Jesus' name. Amen. Hallelujah. We'll see you Wednesday, 5 45 prayer, Saturday, 5 o'clock.
