Why Traditional Psychic Readings are Actually HURTING your Future. (and what to do instead)

 Hello, my loves, and welcome back to my podcast. In today's episode, we're going to be talking about how traditional psychic readings can be really harming your future, your integrity, and your energy. Okay. And that is a big claim coming for someone who is a psychic, who has been A full time, you know, um, I was going to say practicing psychic, but that sounds like I've, you know, just been practicing a full time psychic medium, I guess is my career.

Um, and also teaching that and all the things, but I want to get really real with you in this episode as to why traditional style psychic readings are actually harming your future. Okay. So the label of psychic, if you've been following me for a while, you'll know that it's something that I regularly kind of put in the bin.

And then I find myself pulling it back up. And I have had this frustration towards myself. Like why do I get so done with being a psychic? And then why do I come back to it every single time? And I always operate off the premises. So if we can't, we keep coming back to something then. We're most likely meant to be doing it, right?

If we keep coming back, then it's probably our thing. You know, it's just that nagging sensation that comes back and says, you can do this, or you can give this guidance, or you can lean into this. But there's some elements of psychic readings that are, that just do my head in and drain my energy. And I've really come to a deep understanding.

I feel at this point as to why some of them are So, so, so elevating for me and my clients. And while some of them feel great for my clients, but don't feel great for me. And the conclusion that I've come to the psychic breakthrough that I've had is that. Um, when I guess in a traditional sidekick, um, structure essentially, and the way that I was trained was that a client comes to you and they say nothing, they give away nothing and they give you short yes, no answers and you should never ask them any questions.

So under that premise, I guess it's a little bit like. Put your coin token in and watch the fortune teller do her thing. And that's a really transactional, really kind of gross way to do it. And it can be powerful and it can be quite, um, beautiful for the ego when you, you were just bang on, bang on, bang on with things, right.

But it's a very one sided transaction and it's very much an energy of this person is this all knowing. I was going to say saint, but anyone that knows me knows that that would not be it. Um, this all knowing Oracle, she knows the answers, right? I need to go and see her, which great for business, right? Not great for my impact that I'm here to have in this world.

So for me, there was something that felt really icky about people having to come to me and like, like, Get the answers. Yeah. Now, I am a big advocate for talking through things, helping people access your intuition, getting guidance from other humans, like, you know, asking them to channel for you. Like this can all be so potent and so powerful provided it's done in the right way and not the traditional psychic way.

So coming back to the traditional training, it's like, yeah, you know, nothing about me. Um, I'm going to give you nothing and I'm going to leave and talk about how amazing that session was and how much you knew everything and you blew my mind. So I guess what I had been trained in and what I had witnessed myself as a psychic.

You know, um, enthusiast was, I want it to be wowed. I want it to be blown away. I want it to be entertained, but what I notice in what I want to provide is so much deeper than that. Right. So I want to provide breakthroughs. I want to provide. Moments, words, realizations, and knowings that you carry with you for your entire life.

I don't thrive on, I actually fucking hate it, answering questions that is cheapening your life experience. Okay? So. Um, there are a few reasons that I believe this additional, Oh, we'll be able to test if my microphone cuts out those dogs barking on a new microphone, by the way, um, it should do, it has pretty good suppression.

It always sounds peaceful here, but you don't see the chaos or hear the chaos that goes in the background. And I'm just like, just keep on chugging along here. Okay. So one of the big reasons that traditional future traditional psychic readings are stupid, um, are shallow and are, you know, harming. Your future, uh, that your future is really fucking pliable.

Okay. You are responsible for your future and seeing a psychic to tell you what's going to happen in your future can create some limiting beliefs. It can create some less than helpful, I guess, notions in your mind. Yeah. Now, you know, there's one place where I find this to be. a little trickier to just say, don't do it.

And that is when it comes to conceiving a child, because I feel like conception is such a hands off the wheel life experience that sometimes we just need a little bit of reminding. Yeah. But maybe a psychic session wouldn't be the right answer either. We need a little bit of reminding that that's going to happen for you and there is a soul trying to choose you, right?

So that's probably the one exception to the rule. But when we aren't going to a psychic to find out what's happening in our future, what we are doing is giving our power away. The other thing that we are doing is not being present. In our life experience, right? So if you were going through a really fucking hard time right now and you're like, I need to see a psychic and I need them to tell me it's all going to get better.

And they say to you like, look, it's going to get better, but it's going to be a really tough 10 years. Oof, that's not going to be good, right? Or you might say, Hey, I've got this business deal that might come through and this is my hope. And this is going to fix everything that's wrong in my life. And it's going to mean I'm not going to lose my house.

And is this business deal going to come through? Right. They might say yes. And it might be the fuck. Yeah. Yeah. And it might not happen. Right. Because again, there is, um, we have personal agency. We get to make our own decisions. And when there's more than one party making decisions, nothing is ever guaranteed, but I have predicted with accuracy.

Business deals going through. So it's probably not the right, um, subject matter to be talking on, but, oh, this is going to come through and it's going to change my life and whatever, and then it comes through. Right. And it doesn't change your life or then it doesn't come through. And you're like, fuck sometimes what we are spoon fed by the universe is a little bit of hope.

Yeah. So you might have this. You might be going through this really fucking shit experience and you might get this little bit of hope just drip fed to you. Oh, this could work out. And that bit of hope might be the energy injection that you need to get through the next few days. And that might not turn into anything that might not actually come through for you, right?

It might not eventuate. But it gave you a little bit of a hope injection that kept you going, because although there was disappointment after that hope injection, without that hope injection, there would have been not much energy to keep going. So what I'm saying here is that we are here to fully experience our life and by skipping forward.

Out of the uncomfortable situations, we don't get to experience the life lessons that we have been given those uncomfortable situations for. And I think I've spoken about this in a previous podcast, but you know, psychic information can be damaging, particularly if it's incorrect. Okay. And. Um, one of the ways in which I've spoken about this in a previous podcast is with my home.

So if you're new here, hello, I'm Janelle. I've been through a hell of a mold journey. Um, I'm going to ver like, if you want to hear about that, go listen to the mold journey podcast, but essentially a very, very summarized version was that my son got very, very sick. We found hidden mold in our house. It involved us ripping down the ceiling, the walls, the floors, everything, and rebuilding our home through what I can only describe as gifts of community and the universe and our guides.

And I even want to say God, and I'm not a religious person, but the house that love built is my home, right? And you'll hear more about that in previous podcasts. I won't wallop on about it for you regular listeners here, but throughout that process, I had people who I know who are psychic say to me, you won't be moving back into your house.

I think you need to sell it as a shell. It won't be fixed. It's too expensive. Yada, yada, yada. Now there were times, and obviously I'm very strong in my intuition. I'm an intuition teacher and guide, but there were times during this process because it was so fucking hard and jarring that I doubted the capacity For it to pull through.

For all of it to pull through. For my home to pull through. And I remember my husband being like, shut the fuck up. You're the most accurate, you know, don't worry about what these other people have said. And so for me, it did plant seeds of doubt in my mind. Okay. Um, lucky enough, I was, my sense of faith and my sense of trust in my intuition was stronger and I could just move through it.

Cause I'm recording this from my home that has been rebuilt by love. And we've been here for about four weeks now and everything's going really, really well. So, you know, sometimes someone else's psychic intuition can have you doubting your own Okay. And that is the polar opposite of what a psychic healer should be doing for you.

Okay. So these traditional sessions, your future is pliable. All right. It is not, Hey, bring up Janelle's future. Bang. This is all the things that are going to happen in her life handed over. That to me is such a boring life experience and it's not how life happens. either. There is not written in stone why one person has this incredible impact and huge meaningful life and someone else does not.

To me that is a result of the self awareness that they have, of the work that they put into their self. So many people here are dealt really shitty circumstances. So this is not me sitting here going, everyone has equal opportunity and yada, yada, yada. Like I've seen myself over the last year, like that is not true.

We are dealt some pretty fucking shitty circumstances, which, you know, if we're looking at soul plans and we're looking at what's written in the stars. There are always going to be big life events that are written in our soul plan because we came here to experience them and we came here to experience the lessons that they bring.

Now knowing how that lesson turns out might mean that the lesson is less potent for you. Okay. The lesson is less potent. That's a really weird way to say it, but that might mean that, you know, the potency of the lesson is diminished because you know, the outcome, if you were to watch a movie and you know that the main character.

does not die. The fight scenes aren't as scary, are they? Because you know the person's not going to die because they're at the end of the movie. A little bit like that with our whole life, right? So it's really important. That we have,

really important that we, I've lost my word recall at the moment. And I don't know if it's because I'm living in the land of woo, or I don't know if it's because, um, obviously we're back in the house that made us sick. And lack of word recall was one of my main symptoms. I don't believe there's any mold left here.

There can't be, but, um, your body can sometimes flare in remembrance. So my word recall is really piercing me off at the moment, but, um, it's really important that you are discerning with the psychic readers that you choose to work through. But I also ask you to up level the reasons that you're going to a psychic and what you're expecting as a session.

If you're going to a psychic to put your money in and be entertained. You know, I don't recommend that. Yeah. I mean, it can be fun. It can be an entry level into the spirit world, you know, spirit communication, those types of things. But if you're coming to see me, the kind of questions that I want to hear from you, right?

Are I just have this limiting belief around this and I've done the work and I'm I can't seem to let go of it. Can you help me? Because what I can do is go. Yeah, when you were seven, this is what your dad said to you. This is the way that you were parented that made you believe that this was true. Once we know what is going on, once we know the wording.

That is cemented in our minds for our upbringing or through our previous life experiences. We get to change it. If we don't do that, there's not much we can do to change that. So I've had clients come to me in coaching settings and say, Oh my God, that was more helpful. My first session, then a psychologist session.

Why? Because that insight that in a knowing that psychism that I can use to pinpoint where that belief was created and then unpack it. So fucking powerful. And because I know the potency of what I do, I find it very hard to keep it surface level. Okay, so I've written three words on my paper this morning, psychic Breakthrough Sessions, and I believe that that's what I'm going to be offering.

Again, as you know, I'm a manager and I chop and change, and I, I offer what feels good and I'm guided by my body and what, what turns me on and what turns me off, essentially. So. If you are going to a psychic for a cheapened questions or a definitive answer on something that is not definitive, you're going to be disappointed.

Yeah. And I guess another example of this, and I've shared this story so many times because it stuck out in my mind so deeply is a social media influencer shared that she went and saw a psychic and they connected him with her grandma and they were very, very accurate on an, on a multitude of things. And.

She was told that she would meet her true soulmate. I think it was like in her sixties or fifties or something like that. And then her husband and her would separate and she would meet her true soulmate. And her husband and her, they had like five kids and they were like blissfully in love. And she's like, this has made me have a seed of doubt in my mind, right?

Because everything else this person said was so accurate. And they bring through Nan with clarity and all of these things. And so it's this element of like, Oh my God, maybe this isn't my person. Maybe we are going to separate in 30 years. And I'm going to meet my soulmate. Like it's just fucking stupid.

You don't want to go through the next 30 years thinking with your partner, with the father of your children, with your husband, who you love so much, Oh, but this is going to end and I'm going to find someone else. Why would you want that information now? If in fact it is true. Right? If in fact it is true.

And the other thing of that is, this is where it comes to, this is the damaging your future type thing is because if you believe that to be true, that will fucking come true, right? Because it will come through in your actions. If you believe that your, your relationship is going to end and you're going to find someone that you are better suited to, your relationship will fucking end because you're not going to be showing up in the energy of this is my person and I'm going to do everything I can to make this work.

That is so important to me. Like, and you know, I will often get questions about relationship and I would never ever, ever answer just a yes, no question. I had someone come through the other day and say, should I leave my husband? And I was like, babes, we need to book a full session for this. I can't answer this as a free question on Instagram because the integrity.

Um, the weight of that question is so massive, like that is playing with the lives of multiple people and I would never provide a yes, no answer for that. I would help my client access their own intuition and I would help them see a little bit deeper what's going on as well because sometimes our relationships are dumping grounds, right?

Sometimes we're blaming our husband, blaming our husband, blaming our husband for everything that we are feeling when really it's our own kind of issues that are bringing up what we're feeling as well. So, you know. Fucking hell. Anyway, and I, I remember having a session with an incredible psyche and I remember seeing her work and I was like, this is what I want to do.

You know, there was so much potency coming through in, you know, not just like this is going to happen, but there was a zoom out for, you know, my son when he was growing up and that felt really expensive for me. And it felt like a really beautiful anchor for me to lean into when I felt, um, Unsure of my path or whatever, but I remember she said, Oh, you and your husband.

Oh my God. Yep. Absolutely. You guys are perfect. Meant to be together. Yep. A hundred percent. You are here working on your soul mission together. And it wasn't even a question that I had asked. It was just a stream through of a checklist and, and it sits with me. It sits with me, right? Because as, you know, partners, I think we've been together for, wait, how old am I?

24 years this year. You know, we have two complex children. We have been through the year from hell and, and it's actually been a beautiful year relationship wise, actually. But, you know, prior to that, there's been things, there's been COVID, swallowing up a business and all of these kinds of things. And, um, you know, there are times where you're like, fuck me, this is hard.

Is, is this, Is this right? And you know, those words echo through my mind as to like, absolutely. And so, you know, I feel very, um,

I feel very lucky, I guess, to have such a strong sense of determination and intuition within myself that, you know, if someone was like, that's not the right person for you, then I would. Not lean into that, but you know, when times are tough and marriages are turbulent, turbulent at times, then maybe I would be like, Oh fuck, maybe I've got this wrong.

So, you know, we need to be so mindful of the information that we allow to go through our heart space. And something that I say to every single person that ever has a session with me is that you need to allow the information to go through the filtration system of your own intuition. Yeah, take everything that anybody says with a grain of salt, an open mind, but a grain of salt and a filtration system, right?

A strong filtration system. So you know, understanding that even the shittest psychic who tells you the shittest, most made up things. Will impact your future, they're going to impact some level of your belief system. Okay, I have a friend who was told that she would never run a successful business and she's more suited to being an employee.

That was a really hard limiting belief for her to overcome. Yeah. Now, do I believe that that psychic was intentionally, um, giving her false information? Absolutely not. I believe that that psychic, um, accessed that belief that she had inside of herself and pulled it out as a future prediction. So, see what I mean here.

Oh, you know, self awareness is, is key, you know, and if you are a psychic, please spend time becoming self aware. Self awareness is a continuing, ongoing journey and, you know, It's not something that we go, Oh, I'm, I'm self aware now. It doesn't work that way. You know, it's a continued dance. It's a continued learning.

It's a continued journey to become self aware as to what's actually going on for us and what, what our issues are that we're bringing to the table. So this is why, you know, these are the reasons that traditional psychic readings can be. dangerous for you can be harming your future because they can set you up for beliefs that are not true and generally they're not going to be big bold beliefs they're going to be no that's not going to work don't give that a go or this is going to happen or no maybe you should try this or you know and even the Best of us, even the most intuitive of us, even the most determined of us can get carried away by other people's words, you know, and I've spoken about this before in a coaching setting.

I've been coached by people who are so enthusiastic and so successful and so, um, motivating, I guess that I felt myself get picked up and carried away. With what they see for me rather than what I see for me. So please, next time you think, oh my gosh, I need to see a psychic, sit with it. What am I wanting from this psychic?

Where am I at? And again, there's nothing wrong with seeing a psychic when you need a boost. There's nothing wrong with seeing a psychic for some help to get through a certain kind of space in your life, but ask yourself, what answers am I clutching to here? And where am I not allowing life to unfold in front of me to be how, where am I not allowing myself to be fully on this journey?

Yeah. Instead of, I guess it's kind of like, um, bypassing, we're trying to bypass by seeing what's happening in the future. Sometimes we just need a boost. Sometimes we need messages from our guides to come through and say, babes, you're doing this. Let's look at this. Sometimes we need that psychic breakthrough insight to say, Hey, have you seen how you're contributing to this?

Or have you seen how you can just try a slightly different path, but you know, These traditional psychic readings of like, when, when am I going to get married? Or, you know, will I get this job or what should I do with my life? They're not going to benefit you in the way that you think they are. Psychic breakthrough sessions where it's at, when you can identify something that you need help breaking through and you have someone in front of you who can see where that belief was created and can help you break through that.

Belief, right? Because our life is created by our belief system. Yeah. And again, there are things that are going to happen in your life that are going to be shit. And I don't subscribe to the whole like we, we create every fucking thing, right? We don't create the shitty experiences that we go through. We do create how we handle them.

Our belief system creates some of the outcomes that come through what we go through. Because of our, because it creates what we, um, do you know what I'm saying? Our belief system creates our coping mechanisms, creates what we're open to, what we attract, what is magnified and magnetic to us is created by our belief system.

But how can we change the beliefs that we don't know are there? Perhaps of the psychic breakthrough session. Anyway, that's a lot of food for thought, my loves.
