Season 2 Episode 11: Izzi Batt-Doyle Olympian, Marathoner & Park Run World Record Holder
Welcome back to The Elite Endurance Podcast. On this episode I talk to Australian Olympian Izzi Batt-Doyle. After an amazing year, coming top 8 in both the 5,000m and 10,000m at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham in 2022, Izzi has continued to impress by running 2:27:54 at the Nagoya Marathon which is the marathon qualifying time for this years World Championships in Budapest. Izzi is for sure on for an amazing season of racing, we catch up with her before she heads out to Japan to run a Half Marathon.
She is also setting her sights on getting back on the track at some point as she has some unfinished business as she wants to break 15 minutes in the 5,000m before she hangs up her racing spikes.
The Elite Endurance Podcast (Instagram: @theeliteendurancepodcast) is written, directed and hosted by George Bennett (Instagram: @_georgeruns_) an aspiring Club Level runner looking to go to the Olympics (whether that be as a sport journalist or as an Olympian).
