The Dads Are Back In Town

Daniel Aguilar
Daniel:

Hello everybody. And welcome to another episode of, for G six podcast. I am Daniel Aguilar and here with me, it's Jonathan Aguilar, John, what's up.

Jon:

Not much, not much just trying to stay. Cool. Um, definitely tell me about it. We've been hot these, uh, last week or so actually maybe a few days. Um, but, uh, yeah, today, uh, actually had somewhat of a busy, but not too busy day, had a couple doctor's appointments and then, um, took the kids to the LA zoo. Nice. Which was pretty fun. Nice. Nice. The

Daniel:

kids loved the zoo. They

Jon:

do they want to see any everything there? Uh, all zoo you guys haven't been it's awesome. Tons of walking, so make sure you wears something comfortable for the feet. um, tons of heel. So it's a good

Daniel:

workout. Great, great workout. Now, do they still have like those, like those boots where they give, like freebees out?

Jon:

Um, probably on the weekends, but today since it's Monday, um, It was actually really, really quiet, which was nice. Gotcha. It wasn't overcrowded, but, uh, but yeah, which, um, a lot, some of the stores were kind of close.

Daniel:

This was before the pandemic. Um, we went to the, to LA zoo. I might have been over the weekend and they had a bunch of. Stations set up where they were giving out like free snacks and wives, hand sanitizer. It was, kind of crazy like how much stuff we came with that day. But, yeah, I worked zoo every time we took kids to the zoo. They love it. We've actually gone to the Christmas. We went during Christmas today still. Oh, that's I remember that the kids, yeah. Kids love it. They have a lot of amazing, displays. I mean, you can't beat Christmas time at night here in California. The weather's perfect. You got the Christmas lights, you know, it's a really good time. Very nice

Jon:

very night now. Uh, I assume you've had some, uh, some pretty good times in the past couple. Uh, you went to the Rams game. Did I see

Daniel:

that right? Yeah, man, I can't believe that, went to see the Rams faces the bills. It was amazing. I went with my friend Moses, who's a season ticket holder, big Rams fan, by the way. And the place was back sold out. It actually felt like. I don't wanna say super bowl, but, I mean, tons of celebrities there. Um, well, yeah. First came to Susan guess who did the, uh, halftime show? Who, someone who I never thought I would see live and I can say I saw him live, uh, Ozzie Osborne. Really? Yeah, he did the halftime show. Nice. How was that? It was, it was pretty fun, you know, obviously don't know a lot about his music and just the. And obviously his MTB show was, was pretty cold. I remember those days, but yeah, it was really, really fun. Which brings me to something I've been thinking about for maybe like the last year. And I wanted to get your opinion. I think I'm ready to have an NFL football team as someone who's, you know, I don't have a team. I support. I usually, I love, I love sports. I love watching the games, but I think, yeah, I think I'm ready to have, uh, an NFL team and to, to root. Now

Jon:

you're gonna commit to this one, cause I know I'm gonna commit to any C that has changed a couple times.

Daniel:

Yeah., I think the reason for that was because. One was the strike. It was about like a year and a half. And so, and then we didn't have cable when it came back out or I said, I didn't have cable. And so it was hard for me to watch the games and it's just not the same. And so I kind of, I did fall, fall out of love. But I kind of kept tabs on them and I don't consider myself a Colorado avalanche fan, but I was happy for them to win. They when they won the Stanley cup this past season. But yeah, I think I'm ready to be hurt again. I think I wanna, I want to, to fall in love. And so obviously I can't beat a round span just for the fact, cause I feel like I would be jumping on the band. Nothing against the ramps. I love Cooper cup. I'm actually, I've always been a Matthew staffer fan. I like SHA McVay. I think he's a really good coach. But I think I would just be falling in line. And so I kind of don't want that. And so I started thinking, who could I root for? I got Patrick Mahomes on both my dynasty. A big fan of Patrick from homes. But I feel like they're kind of like in that, that, that line with the Rams, like, I feel like I'm jumping on the bandwagon and so I'm gonna rule them out. Obviously though, but the first game I been went to was Rams and, chiefs a couple years ago. Yeah. It was like 54 51 unbelievable game.

Jon:

Just a quick little fact, anyone that. Uh, doesn't know, Daniel, he has incredible luck with just getting tickets last minute to really great

Daniel:

games. It's not what you know, John is who, you know, that's the key And so I got my choices and I wanna share your opinion., okay. So it's between two teams right now and I, one of'em is the LA chargers. All right. I think I could get behind the alley chargers, but I think I'm leaning towards becoming a Buffalo bills fan. I had a okay. Yeah. So, okay. so I remember them playing in the four super bowls when I was younger and I wasn't a fan. I'm not saying I was a fan back then, but, but I always thought myself rooting for them in the super bowl. Um, and they lost, I was, you know, disappointed, but again, wasn't hurt because were they lose too? They lost the risk against, and I think the Cowboys. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. I think Cowboys. Yeah. So. Now that I'm a Josh Allen fan and I told Moses to going into the stadium that night. I'm like, if Josh Allen gives me four touchdowns tonight, I'm gonna buy a Josh Allen Jersey. And he got me four touchdowns. And so right. No, I'm gonna buy it this week. Haven't done that yet. No, I gonna do if I did that, but yeah, I think I'm gonna become. A Buffalo bills fan.

Jon:

Well, if you're asking me my opinion, I would say it would make more sense for you to be a bills. Fan a, you have that memory of when you were younger grant, you weren't a fan, but you kind of have that nostalgia there and then B you and I have never really been Ali fan. Uh, like really anything. Um, the only one that I could say for me is, um, the Dodgers and I don't follow baseball. So if they're on our route for them, but I can't like really call myself a Dodge fan. Yeah. I don't really follow them. Um, but like basketball, uh, we're not Laker fans. We, I mean, when I was younger, I was a Jordan fan, so I kind of, you know, called Chicago. But, um, we, we don't really follow basketball that close. At least I don't have a team for basketball anymore. But, um, I would say, yeah, I would say the, the bills were, and red will look pretty good on you.

Daniel:

Yeah. I know when Moses hears this and he will hear this, I think I'm, he probably won't invite me to another game again, but, um,

Jon:

Moses, you have my number I'm available anytime time

Daniel:

but no, we had a great time. It was, and this is how I knew I had a good. By the time I walked from the car to the stadium and we parked, we had really good seats cuz he's a preferred ticket holder too. So it wasn't a, wasn't a long walk. We were actually inside. We had great parking. I was sweaty and he did tell me, he's like, you're, you're gonna sit through this game. You have to buy a Rams, at least a Ram shirt. He wanted me to buy a Jersey. I told him, maybe later. And so I bought, I, I did buy a Ram shirt, which I wore, and I posted it on Instagram, very proudly. But then we went down to our seats and Moses is six, three, right. Long guy, long guy. The guy next to me was built just like me. And so. I'm squeezed in between these two guys. Very uncomfortable. I got this guy behind me think he's a comedian and he's being obnoxious and just was very irritating throughout the night. But all. Did not matter because football was back and it was fun. It was fun to see, you know, to check my phone and see my fantasy team. And, you know, you were on the group thread, everyone's texting back and forth. So it was fun. Had a, it was a magic of penile. Yeah. And then I think the, the cherry on top was, Moses's younger brother, Jeremiah. He also went to the game. He bought tickets off of scalper and so they weren't sitting with us, but then after we all went out to dinner and, it was nice. Nice. Awesome. Yeah. Nice to have a meal and excellent and reminisce about the good old days. So yeah. Sweet, sweet. It was fun. It was real. So, I wanted to bring something up to your attention, Jonathan, what, so did you see the draft, dad draft result from two weeks ago?

Jon:

No, not the final

Daniel:

result. Okay. Well, he lost again, what it was, it was like 60 something to 30 something. Okay. But here's the con here's the controversy. I want her to bring to your attention. Do you think it's right for yourself to vote for yourself twice for myself twice? Yes. You voted for yourself twice.

Jon:

How can I don't see how I could do that? I have one

Daniel:

account. Okay. So you have one account, which you did. I, cause you was S working already. You went to your own commercial faith. You went to your own personal account and you voted, which. I felt that's perfectly fine. I right. I, I did it. Okay. But then you went on to our Instagram page and voted for yourself. No, did I? Yes. Yes you did. I didn't check week two. I meant to check week two, but it got away from me. But, um, week one and week three, you, you did,

Jon:

you know what? I might have switched over to the, and when through the feed, it just popped up.

Daniel:

Right. No, I mean, I don't even do that on my own. That's yeah. that's not, I got a little more sense than that. I mean, it's like, you're putting the integrity of dad draft on the line and that's not what this is about. This is about giving the people what they want. It's about letting them choose. If I would've known, I knew that I

Jon:

would've said

Daniel:

something, what you did and the same for

Jon:

watching. Just for the record, just for the record. I think for T dad's sake, would've cited with my, my dad draft.

Daniel:

Just saying what happened? Oh, you the Instagram?

Jon:

Yeah, I think they count. Would've cited with my just saying,

Daniel:

and then here's a ki here's a kicker. I don't know if I should put this person on blast, but there was one person who voted for you. Not once. not twice, but three times

Jon:

they have fake

Daniel:

accounts. They have, they have a personal account. They have a business account and they have a team mom account and they voted for you. And you still That's embarrassing. That is embarrassing.

Jon:

First off. Talk about the fact how deep you check into these it's right there. So that that's a little embarrassing.

Daniel:

It's right there. Second

Jon:

off. I can't control what other people do with their, their

Daniel:

that's right. That's right. If they have, but you still lost by a lot.

Jon:

Well, I mean, it's, I think what what's happening is you're not setting up the for the, for our listeners to know what they're voting for. I think they're kind of getting a little confused and they kind of just pick the first

Daniel:

one that pops up. That's no, I mean, cause at one point you were winning without, with all that help you were winning all two people voting. Yeah, yeah, yeah. You were winning. But then like after the first couple hours it was. I never looked back and it was God. Yeah, the moment was God, but I just wanna say, you're gonna have to set your game cuz you picked the category last week and what was the category? That's a good question. What was the category? Let me check. You picked it.

Jon:

Yeah. That's not gonna, that's not too helpful. I forget what was, what happened this afternoon? Oh,

Daniel:

kids board games. Oh,

Jon:

that's right. Yeah.

Daniel:

Yeah. 61 to 39%.

Jon:

So, you know what? I think I would do my own little research to recount and see, you know, where those other votes are coming in from. Yeah. Go for it. I think there's a little more led on here than believed or what's being,

Daniel:

Shown you're more than welcome to, but you're gonna have to step up your game, so over last. John. And I were checking the stats of the podcast and it came to our attention. We hit wow. Over a hundred downloads and that's actually really shocking. Cause I didn't think that was gonna happen. Not, not yet. And about

Jon:

like several months in maybe Yeah. But, uh, but that's a big, thank you to you guys.

Daniel:

Yeah. Thank you guys, a quick shout out to Eric Anthony. He's another, he's a guy who has a couple podcasts, couple shows., and he helped me with my mic setting, told me I was getting ready to buy, like a brand new mic spent probably another a hundred bucks, maybe 200 on a mic, but he said, he thought it sounded great. And just for me to mess with the settings and. Went back and listened to last our last episode and made a huge difference. So, Eric, thank you. For those who wants to, check out one of the shows, you can check out good friends, good games, and also the good people with Eric and Hannah. That one, I really recommend John view yourself a favor and, check that out cuz it's, they have a lot of good stuff on. On that show. It's a couple episodes and, it's great. So I recommend everyone to go check that out.

Jon:

Awesome. Awesome. Good, good advice. Uh, one other shoutout we're gonna give is to Alexandria and Freddy Salazar. Uh, they went, uh, they're over there in Beaverton, Oregon, and they went on a day trip, listened to our podcast, gave us some, uh, some great feedback and just, you know, we enjoy you guys listening. Thank you.

Daniel:

Yeah. And thank you for, I think we had people and,, Kada,, some of you guys might know as Canada. That's a little, that's a little, office joke, but, it's kind of, it's kind of crazy. Like we're seeing people from basically all over the world, listen to our, episode. So

Jon:

I think that's one thing that's really shocked me. Hitting, I mean, hitting the hundred downloads that's that's cool and amazing on its own. But I mean to see that other people like around the world are listening to the podcast, that's I never would've saw that coming up. So that's really awesome.

Daniel:

Yeah, absolutely. Even like, Cincinnati Ohio, which for a second, I thought, why not become a, a bankers fan? I was just like, when I saw that I was thinking. Teens. And I saw that somewhat got the orange drawn. Yeah. I was actually red. Oh, maybe with the light, so I, yeah. But Nope, that's it. I'm a bills fan. Yeah. So bills fan. I like that one better. Yeah. So let's go, let's go. Sorry, here. so I guess you could put that in. My hot category for this week is Buffalo bill starting one. And oh, let's go. Josh Allen, unbelievable game, my what's hot, actually, what I have down on here is, Ted Lasell, tonight was the Emmys and they did what they did last year is they dominated the Emmys with a bunch of rewards, even including the best comedy. Oh, wow. Yeah, usually I'm not really a person who likes to plug a show or, actually I don't even watch a lot of TV to be honest. And if I do excuse me, it's sports or if, maybe like, if I wanna zone out, I might put on like the office or parks and recs, but. when I found Ted lasso back in 2020, you know, a lot was going on in the pandemic. There's and there still is a lot of racial tension in this country, but, you know, we're seeing all kinds of like, just bad stuff on the news. And here comes at TV show basically. about promoting positively. So I, I, someone, the character was based on someone who is positive and that's someone like, like I am, and it was nice to escape all that and watch the show where I didn't have to worry about,, you know, The news or what was going on and it's, and yeah, it was a great show. So like every time I come across someone who watches it, I love, um, having a conversation about it. And so took me forever, but my wife came around, she and once she started watching a couple episodes, she was hooked and it's just like, like I said, a fun, positive show. Have you seen it. I

Jon:

see the first season, uh, working through the second season. Gotcha.

Daniel:

Third seasons. About to come out.

Jon:

It's an awesome series. Yeah, I know. I, I,

Daniel:

I love it, actually I, I wanna say third, season's gonna be the last, I'm a little disappointed because you want your shows to go on forever, but at the same time, you don't want them to get boring or, or, you know, run outta steam. So I understand where they're coming from. So, uh, like the office first, you know, I'm a big office fan, but I always felt like if they would've cut it a season or two shorter, it would've been okay. Yeah. Yeah. Uh, John, what's your, uh, what's your what's hot. What's

Jon:

hot. So I got two actually today. Nice. One little short one mm-hmm who is pumpkin beers back on the shelf. Yes.

Daniel:

So

Jon:

for those of you who, you know, do enjoy beer, I love when the. End of the years coming around and, you know, pumpkin beers are out delicious. It's something different. I enjoy. Uh, so I suggest you guys go get some, did you

Daniel:

ever see that? Did you ever see that, uh, bill bur sketch a couple years ago on SNL? No. Okay. So do you know who bill bur is, right? Yeah. Hey, he's this funny comedian, one of my favorite comedians and he's one of, of the cops on a

Jon:

super bad,

Daniel:

right? No. No, no, no, no. He was, um, oh, so he was like in, uh, breaking back. He played one of Sal's guys, not the black guy, but the other guy with the red hair and then,

Jon:

oh, okay. Okay. I was thinking of, okay. I know who you're talking about. Yeah.

Daniel:

Yeah. He was also the Dave Chappelle show. But anyways, he did SNL a couple years ago and he's from Boston and they did like if Sam Adams came up with this, came up, came out with his pumpkin beer, but, and everyone's liking him, but he was a real Boston trying it and it was just like hilarious SC. And so like, you should probably check it out. Cause I think you would appreciate it, but it's uh, it's real funny. The clip out. Yeah.

Jon:

Nice. Nice. Um, my second was hot and this is the one that kind of wrote down, but, um, tigers are thriving in, uh, in China. Nice. So, um, yeah. And the Northeastern, uh, rent forest part, um, the China government has actually been persistent, you know, preserving them with some, uh,

Daniel:

uh,

Jon:

what is it called? Um, based on the word. where they have like a, a place for them to kind of go and it's like the sanctuary type of deal. Um, but yeah, so they've noticed over the last few decades or so tigers have actually been, the numbers have been going out. So, which is awesome, cuz they were going down and they were heading towards, you know, extinction, not that close, but they were, that was the direction they were going. But now their numbers are going up over there, which is awesome.

Daniel:

Love it. Very nice. Nice. Not John bat., mine what's not for this week is. Tires, while I was at work, someone notified me, my tire was flat. And so now I have to deal with that. So, a couple years ago, I don't know why, but I bought a pump like a, you hook up to your car and it has a bunch of attachments. So you can do like inflatables. Bought balls. And one of the things you could do is tires. And so, I hooked it up to my tire, pluck it into the car, turned the car on and, yeah, the PSI was low and it also matches your PSI. So, it was low and, but brought it back up. And so I think I'm gonna have to do that tomorrow is, get that figured out. So I hope it's just a past show. Yeah. hopefully

Jon:

I know, uh, a few months ago I actually had, uh, one of my tires on my truck, um, had a nail right on the corner, which, ah, most people know you cannot patch that if it has to be on the flat surface, if it's on the corner, it's just, it's the tire's gone. It's done. So I had to replace that tire, which was not fun. So I put

Daniel:

on. well, you know, it didn't happen with our other car, but right now the other, the other car is under, um, warranty. So we took it in and we took it into dealership. And the guy on the warranty company was talking to the guy from the dealership company. And he was just like, are you sure you just can't patch it? And this guy's like, no, it's like the location of it. And, and I think he sent it even sent it a picture before. They, they said, okay, you can put on a new tire, so damn it. Yeah. Insurance companies, man.

Jon:

Yeah. Yeah. I that's

Daniel:

true. yeah.

Jon:

Uh, my one's not hot is, uh, the lake queen Elizabeth passing away. Yeah,

Daniel:

I hear,

Jon:

go ahead.

Daniel:

I was gonna say, did you ever watch a crown? No.

Jon:

yeah. That unfortunately have not.

Daniel:

Yeah. She lived a long time. She's a long, long time. Yeah. She's 96. Yeah. Did you hear, I think she owns, I have to go back and like look this up, but apparently she owns like all the, the geese or the swans in the world. That can be right? No, it is. Yeah. I couldn't believe it, but then like I actually looked into it and it turns out it's true. I just drawing a blank right now. Like what exactly is it? So I can look it up real quick, but, uh, I thought that was interesting. Yeah.

Jon:

Yeah. But yeah, that's pretty. Pretty interesting for a couple reasons. You have a lot of time on your hands looking that up. um, that's crazy though. Cuz when they meet just every time they meet, they just, she owns the ones that come out after.

Daniel:

Yeah. She owns all the swans and England. Oh that's okay. I'm sorry. Across England and Wales. okay. Are considered property of the Monarch. Ah, okay. Yeah.

Jon:

So fascinating.

Daniel:

So if you want, I guess now it's a time. If you want a Swan or go go there, pick one up.

Jon:

I think they, uh, I would imagine transfers to

Daniel:

the king. I think they're still trying to shut that out. So like, if that's the time to go, it's very gray

Jon:

area right now. Everybody. Now's the time to take your ticket to England and go get it.

Daniel:

All right. So this is where John and I will have our, topics of discussion, but since we missed last week's, episode, we're gonna go ahead and we're just gonna catch up and let, let everyone know what we've been up to and, how dad's life going and then, yeah, we'll get into dad draft. So. John you, well, let me go first, cuz your weekend last weekend was probably better than my weekend. So last week for those of who don't live in Southern California, we had temperatures up to like, uh, a hundred degrees over a hundred. Yeah. And right now where we're staying, we don't have, AC, so my wife and I decided to bring the kids back to our. Where we do have AC and the kids would be probably a little bit more comfortable. Even though there's like tons of construction inside our house, going on. So, we came back and, as we were getting the kids situated, we ordered dinner. It was a pizza night, kept it simple, but as we were, pizza was gaining here, Serena, William. Was playing her last match and, yeah, she's been, she's been dominating for, for a very long time since back when I got into tennis and in the late nineties. So she saw that we saw the end of the match. Yeah, yeah. Farewell to Serena. actually did you know, like, so she had her two days before she had. the big upset. She beat the number two player ranked in the tournament, and everybody decided to hit up Vegas and put money on Serena. And cuz they figured this was probably gonna be the year she was gonna win her last tournament, the short and, and sure enough, she lost her very next batch and Bon. So that's. That's what happens in Vegas. So, yeah. But you know, once we got the kids situated, you know, they were in the room with the AC, they don't have streaming where we're staying at right now. So the kids were happy to be able to stream Disney and Netflix. And so they were in their rooms. And watching, a movie and Sherry and I decided to check out a documentary on Netflix. I believe it was called taking Woodstock and it was about the 99, um, Woodstock. And it was, it's a great, great documentary. I highly recommend, it's three episodes and pretty much what they try to do is, the. the 69 Woodstock in 1999. But, you know, the corporate greed decided to, take over and, yeah, it was just, it was bad. It was really, really bad. Wow. It did not end so well, so yeah. So on Saturday I woke up play some tennis. Came back. We don't have a kitchen. So we kind of had a, like,, my wife decided to get like cereal stuff and stuff to make sandwiches. So we weren't. So we weren't eating out all the time. And so that, wasn't another challenge, cuz you know, it's so easy to eat out, but I mean the price just goes up, you know, just especially, you know, when you're eating. For a bill for four people. So hurts the wallet pretty quickly. Yeah. So, so we stood in, Danny was invited to a birthday party next door with the water slide. So she was happy, came back, you know, just chilled out. And then Sunday morning we, Packed up the kids and, and our staff. And we went to, Bakersfield, our friends, Anthony Christian lived out there and they have two kids. I have three kids, sorry, around our age. And, yeah, it was, it was great. You know, got to use their AC, use their pole and kids had a great time. And the fact that we didn't have to come back and work the next day. We got to sleep in, I think we actually lived back in the pool and we didn't leave until like six o'clock Monday,, came home, put the kids to bed and, yeah, it was nice. It was, it was nice way to end the weekend. I'll stop there. John. How was, how was last weekend for you?

Jon:

Last weekend was awesome and very hot. So, uh, we took our Fitz Wheeler out to San Dimus. Did some camping. Um,

Daniel:

was it a campsite? Was it like, like a, so it had like a,

Jon:

well, it had both RV park or RV, uh, it's RV park that you could still do some sponsored intent, camping. But it's awesome. Awesome spot. They have a pool. Uh, they have some great amenities there. Um, it was really crazy, cuz like I said, it got up to 1 0 8 and wow. We took a, we took an inflatable pool to fill up by our site. We had more than enough space to lay that out, put it canopy out and to be honest with. I jumped in there as well. And it like knocked down the temperature. It felt like it knocked down the temperature, like by 10 degrees, like you just felt an instant relief and just, uh, and then with the breeze coming in felt nice. So that definitely helped out with the kids, you know, staying cool. Um, and for anyone that has, you know, if its will.

Daniel:

The those things

Jon:

do not stay cool when it gets over like 90 degrees outside, like 90, 95 degrees or higher, it gets hot in there. Even with your AC

Daniel:

running. Did you have the right com hook up? Oh yeah. Okay.

Jon:

Yeah, it was a 50, uh, 50 amp. We, we run a 50 amp, um, even for the spots that have 30 amps, we have a converter, so, uh, but no 50 amps running the AC. Um, yeah, I think the hottest it got in the RV was like at 91 degrees. Wow. And that was,

Daniel:

yeah. How did the, how did, how did the kids.

Jon:

well, the nice thing was after about three, four, o'clock it started to go down cuz you know, it was cooling down on the outside. So by the time we went to bed inside RV, it was like, uh, low. Low eighties, or even, uh, high seventies, like 76 or seven or so. So the nighttime was nice to being in there and after we shower and got in bed, it was more than comfortable inside, but, um, but it was great, great time. Uh, we, you know, played some games with the kids, barbecues it, smores fire pit. Um, yeah, I would say that the toughest part was just trying to stay cool, but. it's what we had. We were at, there was a lot of shade which really helped. I know as some RV parks, you don't really get too much shade, so that was awesome.

Daniel:

Uh, so, what'd you, uh, what'd you grow.

Jon:

Uh, mostly some, uh, hot dogs, hamburgers. We did salmon. Um, nice did corn, uh, green beans. Um, when you camp in an RV, it's not, you can't, you can't stretch in that word camping a little bit. So we had pasta one night. Um, you had to be spaghetti and garlic bread. So when you have a kitchen, you know, you could kind. Take advantage of that. But, um, like Dana said, you don't want to go out eating all the time. It's nice to go get little treats in here and there. But yeah, we, we packed food for each night. We were there for about three, four nights and, um, it was good times. Good times the kids, when they got restless, we would just go for a walk and, uh, it would get hot, but at least the breeze helped out a. It was kind of crazy, cuz it was, uh, like a hundred and like 101 degrees at one point, but it didn't feel like it, it felt hot, but it didn't feel like it was

Daniel:

101. Yeah. So we went to Bakersfield. So the humidity down here was high, but we went to Bakersfield. It was only a couple degrees hotter, but there was no humidity. So it was, it felt so much better up there than it was down down here. Yeah. That makes a huge difference. So when did you guys get back?

Jon:

Uh, we got back on Tuesday. No, yeah. Tuesday. Okay. So yeah, uh, we were there Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and they came back Tuesday. Um, and again, anyone has trailers or, you know, RVs, um, that part, uh, So that RV park, it had some really nice, uh, nice spots that were easy to park in. As we drove around, there's some spots that were pretty tight. So, uh, definitely do your homework and look at, you know, what spots you're picking before committing to it.

Daniel:

Nice. Nice. Yeah, I mean our, family had a great time. We went camping with, with you guys a couple weeks. Uh, no about a month ago. Mm-hmm hopefully we get to go back very soon and uh, oh yeah. Yeah. It'll be fine. so yeah, so this week was kind of the same thing. We decided to bring the kids back here to, to chill out, Friday. What did we, I'm trying to think. What did we have for dinner on Friday? Oh, in and out. Gotta plastic. If you're gonna go out, you gotta do it. Right. So we had in and out and then, um, Saturday, we woke up, played tennis, and then,, we went to Sherry's office to do some things. I actually fell asleep. I mean, it was AC was running cause she has a comfortable couch and yeah. So took a little nap before we decided to meet you and your family, as well as our sister and her family at the carnival at your kids fundraising. How did that go? Yeah,

Jon:

it was good. Um, I, uh, had to work some hours, did some volunteer work there. So, uh, the first night, Friday night, rain was humid. Still got some, some people out there. So, which was nice. Um, Saturday didn't have any rain, which was nice. Still had the humidity, but it wasn't as hot. So that was awesome. But, uh, the kids had fun. We played games. Killing and Xander, they both won. Uh, one game was tossing a ball into like, um, muffin, pan, and certain muffin. Pan had a color, you win a prize and then they both won at, um, a little pick a duck. You get a prize. And, uh, they had a blast actually, uh, killing. I went on the bumper carts a couple times and we got rocked and we rocked some people and, uh, that was pretty fun. But.

Daniel:

Yeah, we

Jon:

had, we had a blast. What about you guys?

Daniel:

Oh, we had a blast. That fundraiser is not cheap. no cheap. It's not cheap, but what does that deal with? Church aren't but,, we had a great time. Danny went on the, the fun house. I haven't been on one of those in a very long time. But yeah, the kids had a great time. Food was good., great ice cream. I really wanted to hear that Eagles covered band, but. you know, my kids had, they have sensory issues, so the music was a little too loud, so we just thought it'd be best just to like step out. And so, um, it was nice cuz we came home, just relax. They went to bed at a reasonable time. So did we? And yeah, it was great. It was, was really great. Everyone had. Had a great time. And on Sunday, play of tennis came out. So Sherry and I had an agreement. I could watch football if I was able to do stuff while I was watching football. So I had to go through some like old clothes. To donate, we got rid of some stuff. And so, was able to try to also do some notes for work while was watching the game. So, but it was, yeah, so it was fun. It was fun. It was a good Sunday. I think our kids were a little bit bored towards the end because they were, um, all day in the house pretty much. And they can't go in the front yard. It's dug up or now, and they can't go in the back because there's a lot of stuff, as well as our, our pole. So it was trying to find them, uh, you know, trying to find them entertained. That was the challenge. And, um, you know, like as parents, you know, we can have, you know, we can game plan. Okay. Tomorrow, this is what we're gonna do. We're gonna do B C. And hopefully if we're lucky we can squeeze in. B in any, but then, you know, something happens with the kids and especially, you know, if you gotta keep them entertained, you know, that list is gonna get sharpened up really quick. And so, um, you, and, you know, we weren't mad at them, you know, they just wanted, you know, some attention from mommy and daddy. And so, you know, at the same time, that was the hard part they wanted. at the exact same time. And so, yeah, so, but, um, you know, we got to play with them a little bit before we headed back to, to grandma's house and get ready for the week. And so nice. Yeah. That's, that's, that's where we're at. And so, and you what'd you guys do yesterday? Uh,

Jon:

you know, I got to watch some football in the morning. Uh, while playing with the kids and just doing little things around the house, I had it on the background and then, um, we ran ransom errands, uh, and pretty much just on the second half of the day, just kind of played with the kids. They were getting a little grumpy with, you know, the weather and everything. So we, um, just try to, we played her plunk. We played board games, uh, just try to keep their mind distracted and yeah, before we knew it, it was already bedtime. So, which was nice.

Daniel:

All right. So yeah, that was us for the last two weeks. Um, so next week I'll cut up next week. Uh, so what we're gonna do is we're gonna be, um, I'll tell you what I'll post, what our next week's topic is gonna be. Sometime this week. Okay. Um, you know, John has a couple ideas. I have a couple ideas, so we have to go through it and figure out how we're gonna go about this. And then I believe we're gonna have an, an announcement. We we're trying to hoping we're gonna have it this week, but. Um, it's still not quite ready. So next week there will be a big announcement, um, regarding 4g death sakes. Maybe it's the end. Maybe something's going on. Who knows what's happening? What's happening? I don't know. You call that a clip painter. Yeah. So John, something you've been dreading are you're ready for GA tonight's Gare tonight, dad. Tonight's dad draft. It's gonna be nineties kids, movies, John and I grew up in the nineties. And so we're familiar. We have our favorite movies, so we decided to a dad draft about it. Um, I can late I'm excited. This is probably the least amount. Research I put in before going into a dad draft, cuz I'm going by all memories. So John, this might be your week to

Jon:

get you real. Yeah. Movies is just, is me, so. Okay. So, um, why do you get to pick? I'm gonna go first. I'm gonna go first.

Daniel:

I'm gonna go first and then I'll defer to you. Um, So this one was kind of easy, cause I was just thinking like, okay, what's the, if I can pick one movie back in my childhood to watch, uh, what would it be? And right away, I'm going with the sand lots. Okay. That's a classic movie. I feel I come in, you know, fixable the smores, the, the Malo as they call it in there. Um, lot of classic. And then we got the dog at the end. I mean, it was just a great movie. Great, great movie. All right. Sound.

Jon:

So my first pick it's, uh, iconic it's coming up, you know, in the next next month. It's a very popular movie. One that I could watch all the time. Ho PO.

Daniel:

Oh, okay.

Jon:

Okay. You

Daniel:

just came out there. I was gonna say, they're gonna come out the second one.

Jon:

Yeah. Uh, I think the 14th is when it's gonna be released of this month September, but uh, classic. Everyone loves it and yeah, can't go wrong with it. Okay.

Daniel:

All right. So you get the

Jon:

second movie mm-hmm gonna kind of stay with the holiday theme. Okay. Home. Okay. And now they saw the classic and C

Daniel:

Colton. And you're lucky because I was actually gonna, um, text you and be like, maybe we should leave Christmas movies out of this, save up for December, but I didn't wanna handcuff you so we can always, you guys

Jon:

double back to it.

Daniel:

No worries. So, yeah, but yeah, it's a great movie. Great movie. Uh, you ever pick, I've always, uh, what kid did not want to be left home? you know, and order a pizza. I don't know. I always thought that was like, so like grown up was like, oh yeah, I'm gonna order a pizza. And, uh, so I was always jealous. He got to do that. And, uh, interesting. Got to play with his toys. Uh, favorite scene for me, Mar Marv, what are you doing? Okay. Um, so I had. hope is focus on the list, but that's okay. Cuz of course you did. Cause it's a great movie. Yeah. But you know me, I bend, but I do not break. So we're just gonna go with number two on our, on our list. Um, and I can't believe this spelled to us little giants

Jon:

again, not surpris. You have to sports movie, little

Daniel:

giant. Yeah, classic ed O'Neil. That's hilarious in that one. And Jason, Puerto Rico, kinda. Um, this is what I thought you were gonna pick with your first pick. So I think I'm gonna go ahead and block you here and. I'm going with hook.

Jon:

That's a

Daniel:

good one. I'm I'm going with

Jon:

hook solid one. Yeah. I mean, I was eyeing that one. Yeah. All right. What's I got one. So back to me, uh, another one,

Daniel:

uh,

Jon:

let's see. Another, I want to go with is, uh, classic kid movie, the lion king. Okay. Okay. Love it sad in the beginning. He comes back. Great comeback story. All right. And then another one, which is kind of seasonal, I guess, but at Casper,

Daniel:

oh, you took my head. It goes, you took my home pick. Okay. All

Jon:

right. It's a solid one. Watch that one. All the.

Daniel:

Wow. Did not see that coming. Tell you you're my real. Okay. Okay. Ooh, thought I had, I thought you weren't gonna go too Halloween, but me really. All right. So this one, I. I liked, um, it's about a group of friends coming together and being there for each other and I've always wanted to go car racing. Uh, I never, did you know where I'm going with this rookie of the year? No, they never did go car racing. Oh no. They built a boat. I thought you were Mr. Movie. I knew everything about movies is my alley little Rascals.

Jon:

Oh, yeah. Yeah, that's a good one little.

Daniel:

Okay. And then my last pick this movie, it's probably the best Disney movie in the nineties. And so I'm surprised people with lion king, um, because. I think they made four of these movies and you got all star cast. My kids love them to story toy story. Okay. Toy story.

Jon:

I thought you would've picked that one up higher

Daniel:

toy story. Um, go ahead. So you got one, this is my last

Jon:

pick, right? Yeah. All right. So this was a tough one and they were down. I'm gonna go with

Daniel:

Jumanji. Oh, I think you just lost Robin Williams. I think I never seen Emily.

Jon:

Yeah. You're like the 1% that hasn't so

Daniel:

that's not gonna worry me. Okay. Yeah. Uh, well, I mean, Robin Williams, right? I mean, can't go around with him. Exactly. Um, okay. So this is, I'm gonna read to you some of the ones I had on my list that weren't pick, um, Beethoven.

Jon:

That's one of the three that was trying to be on my one Beethoven.

Daniel:

Um, I almost went with this, my last pick mighty ducks. Okay. I was, it was really close. Um, I did have one, but it, I didn't think it was gonna be popular enough, but it's a great movie. Great soundtrack now. And then I don't know if you've ever seen that. Oh

Jon:

yeah. Not that movie. That's that's a good movie.

Daniel:

Um, space jam.

Jon:

Yeah. I, I didn't think that'd be a great one to pick on here. I like it, but

Daniel:

yeah. Um, did you ever see blank check? Oh, yeah. Yeah. That was another one. Um, rookie of the year, of course, rookie of the year and then, um, man of the house, which I liked, but I didn't think it was popular enough yeah. To slave. Um, but I'm happy. I mean, I got one, two and three on my floor. Boom. So what should I expect? No, that was that's over 2, 3,

Jon:

4, 5 hours. We last one toy story. oh, that was your fifth. Yeah. Oh, that's right. That's right. Okay. J you're right. Yeah. Yeah. So we're good. All right. I'm happy with it. Yeah.

Daniel:

All right. So, uh, go ahead and, um, go ahead and, uh, will you see this poll up on Wednesday? Go ahead and vote. let us know if we missed any one of your favorite movies that you grew up watching or not even grow up watching, but if it was in the nineties, um, again, the title was nineties kids' movies. These are movies. Um, John and I grew up one of my favorite movies and I don't know if it was be considered kids movie would be a league of their own, like that big. Yeah. That's not a kid's movie, but it's a great movie. So awesome movie. I love it. So. All right. So, uh, I think that's it. Um, it was great to be back. It was great to be back and anything you want to add, John?

Jon:

Um, No, I think, I think we're good there. That's uh, good. Okay. I guess do a little sign off.

Daniel:

Yeah. So again, follow us on YouTube. Uh, four, two do eight podcasts, or you can follow us on Instagram at four, two dot sakes. Uh, we're almost at a hundred followers, so hopefully we can reach out by the end of this weekend. Hopefully let's get that out. All right. So from myself and John, thank you for listening. Go ahead.

Jon:

Stay awesome. And also fun fact Scotland's national animal is a

Daniel:

unicorn. There it is. There it is. Boom. All right. Talk to you guys later. Don't go changing.
