Super Bowl

Daniel Aguilar

Hello everybody and welcome to another episode, four two. Dad takes podcast. Tonight's episode, super Bowl. I'm so excited for the Super Bowl. Can't wait. Lot of good things to, uh, talk about. But first let me introduce Jonathan. John, what is up? Hello. That was, uh, that was not much of an introduction. I was expecting the way you paused. I was expecting a big build up. Some, some great, you know, intro, but, uh, we'll, we'll, we'll roll with that. We'll roll with it. Um, super Bowl should be good. I mean, it's always fun. Even if you don't like football, you get great commercials. Um, little bum, you know, my team's not in it, but still gonna check in and gonna check out this, the Super Bowl. See, see what, see what plays out. Do you, uh, do you care who wins or do you have a preference? No, I just want to see the game every year. I just proof for, uh, a competitive, fun game, which comes down to like the last few minutes, but we'll see. I feel like it's been a while since we've gotten that type of game. Uh, a competitive game. Yeah. Well, last year it was pretty close with the Rams and the Bengals. Yeah. But I don't know, I just felt like the game itself was really slow and then at the end, like all those penalties and I just felt like it just took away from the game and I was a little disappointed. Um, so hopefully fun game. I hope everyone will have a good time, but we'll see. Uh, I think the best part is the anticipation. Uh, yeah. It's almost say the food. but Yeah. Maybe that's just the buildup too. It's definitely, uh, exciting. Did you, uh, didn't they just have the skills challenge? Yeah, that was the night. I didn't really watch him. I didn't, not really, not a Pro Bowl guy, so I usually don't watch it. But this is the first year they're doing, um, flag football. I believe this was, yeah. Which is smart. Um, I never liked the All-Star game, but the skill challenge, I always thought that was pretty fun to see. You get to see the players just kind of be themselves and just kind of compete in a different way. That's, uh, what, you know, some people just do in their backyard and like trying to hit a target or whatnot. So I just thought though that was fun. Even in like the nhl, the NHLs, the All Star, uh, games this weekend. Um, they're skills challenge. I always love watching that. Is there anything better as, as a guy when, whether it's like you're watching the game with your, your buddies, you're in a barbecue, maybe tailgate, and I know you and I have done this a lot and pick up the football and start throwing it back and forth. I don't think there's any like, it's like one of the, one of the guy activities to do. I, I would say. What do you think? Yeah, I mean it's definitely, that's something that, you know, I think it's just more of a athletic thing cuz I mean, whether you're a guy or girl, whatever, but if you're just a, an athlete and there's a football, there's, you know, anything. Even if you have a ball, it's a baseball and you, you're gonna learn, you're gonna make some game outta something and get some competitive thing going on. But, um, yeah, I remember way back when we used to watch. Sunday football all day at mom's on like that, uh, little what, half an hour between the games and Monday night football. We would step outside and throw the football around and yeah, whenever every chance we got, we, we would play some sport. It's definitely a very therapeutic activity cuz for those who have boyfriends or husbands and you want them to open up, get a ball, take them outside to start tossing it, pretty soon they're gonna open up about their feelings and they're gonna be communicating. A lot of problems get solved with the, with the toss of a ball. I think so that's, that's interesting. Know zip ball you on. That is what happens So. All right. John, how was your weekend? Weekend was good. Uh, we, uh, started off with game night. We actually had it. We, um, Had some fun. Uh, so we did like a murder mystery game where, uh, myself, my wife, Daniel, his wife, my sister and her husband, we all sat at the table and, um, pretty much it's just a game that, you know, that a bunch of evidence was given to us and we had to try to figure out, you know, which was evidenced towards, uh, the case and which was just, you know, evidence that was just misleading us and see who, if we could figure out who the killer was, three people got it right, three people got it wrong. But I don't think it got to a point where it got to a point where it was just, it was a guess. Like it hit, uh, you know, we hit the 45 minute hour mark, and I think we each had an idea of who did it, and we, we just guessed and asked. And half for wrong. Now I forgot who were the three that got it right? It was me, my wife, Brittany, and Sherry. Okay. Of course I So you, I, I should have known better. Just died with the, that's my fault. I was drunk on pizza. That's my and iced coffee. Delicious iced coffee that you made me. So, so I think the board game, I think the board game was, um, I think that's how it's designed. It's not designed to figure out a clue where it's, okay, hey, it's, here's the hard evidence. It's this person. You're supposed to kind of figure out any evidence you can and then take a guess and see if you get it right or get it wrong. Cuz the um, the one that, uh, Brittany and I did on our own. Uh, it was the same thing. We were looking for that one piece of evidence that like pinned it hard on one person and even looking up online on the clues, there was nothing there that was hard evidence of like, oh, it's this person right here. So I think it's, it's me. It's designed to make you guess and see if you're right or see if you're wrong. Definitely a lot of fun. Uh, I don't know if, uh, Sherry told you guys, I know she texts Brittany, but uh, she found like a mystery office room mm-hmm. In Los Angeles. Yeah. So definitely have to go to that. Uh, I think believe the next game night is we're gonna host it. I'm going back and forth, so I'm gonna try to pick a, a good game and, uh, try to keep the. I thought, keep this thing going. But the kids themselves, they had a blast and we were very loud running around. Uh, I, I don't know what I was thinking. I thought that would tire my kids out, but I just kind of like feel them up. So when they got home, they still had their energy, but it was a great night. Uh, we need, definitely need more nights like that. So hopefully screaming of joy. We can keep the game night, we can keep the gate men going for, you know, for a while. That that would be awesome. I know they get excited when they're gonna bring time with their, with their family. Oh yeah. Did you watch, did you watch your games this weekend? I did, did catch most of it. Um, in between chasing the kids around and changing diapers. But yeah, I watch most of it. I sleep on the first game. First game I fell asleep. Oh yeah. Oh yeah, it was just, it was brutal. It was kinda, again, anticipation. Great. This was supposed to be like the two best games all season. And the 49ers, that's, that is just bad luck. They have the worst luck. Yeah. And when your best defensive players standing on the sign line and they get her, you know, it's gonna be a bad day. So unfortunately they did not, they weren't able to make a game out of it. And the Philadelphia Eagles will be going to the Super Bowl, or they'll be playing the Kansas City Chiefs, uh, real quick. I mean, not to get too in Dallas, like, what'd you think of the second game? The second game was, uh, it was good. Um, I know there's a lot of, I mean, I don't know if this is just something that's snowballing bigger. Bigger every year. I feel like there's more and more people that are saying that the NFL's rigged, that there's, uh, it's, you know, scripted. They, they already know who's gonna advance and all that stuff. Um, and it's kinda like, I don't, do you know the Superbowl's gonna be held where it's gonna be held? Mm-hmm. uh, Phoenix, right? Yeah. Do you know the name of the studio? Uh, do not Know. Oh, isn't a State Farm. State Farm? Who's state's farm spokesperson? Yeah, it's, uh, Patrick Mahomes. There you go. Coincidence. Yeah, maybe. I mean that, it's funny because there's like some of the clips that I've seen online that, oh, this game's rigged. Look at this player didn't get called for this ever since the beginning of football. Some calls get missed, some calls are bad calls. That's just human error. I don't know. Uh, me personally, I don't believe N NFLs rigged. Um, no. No, it's not. Uh, and so I, yeah, I don't know, but it's just, I feel like that snowball's getting bigger and bigger every year. So, um, the second game, I, I, I enjoyed it. It was fun to watch. Um, I do know a lot of people are like that whole conspiracy theory with State Farm and all that. Um, yeah, I, I enjoyed it. I, it was frustrating to see though the, the last play before the Phil goal or that bonehead penalty personal foul. Yeah. I mean, it was a personal foul. I mean, no, it definitely was. I'm not saying it wasn't. He would, yeah, but I'm saying that's the player's bonehead mistake. He should have known where he was at and not get that penalty. Yeah, I'm not, I'm not blaming the rest on that one. I'm blaming the, the player for that one. Yeah. Uh, definitely a lot of questionable calls. Um, but when you play a game, you're just not gonna have. you're not gonna please everybody. I mean, you're always gonna like see the game from a different point of view by going back to last year's Super Bowl real quick. Uh, the fourth down, it was fourth in, I believe long and the Rams needed to convert, otherwise the game was gonna be over and they threw the ball, a coop Cooper Cup. It was a physical play and they put, they called defensive passenger interference, and it was questionable. It's 50 50 now. You know, obviously if they don't make that call, I'm gonna hear it from 50 Rams fans the next day. Oh, the, the game of Rigg, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. But they did make the call and I'm pretty sure in Cincinnati they were talking about how bad that call was. So you're not gonna be able to please everybody when it comes to any eSport. So we'll see what happens. Um, I, like I said, I'm hoping for a good game. uh, two really good offense playing against each other, so we'll, we'll see. Real quick, if you were ever given the opportunity to train and you were going go, go be an N f NFL referee, is that a job you would want? Oh, hell yeah. Hell yeah. Um, someone's gonna hate you to go, no matter what game it is, to go to every stadium, have all access to a football game, and to be on the, the field, of course, um, get death threats, all, all of the, everything that comes with it. I would be one of the reps though that I would let them play. Like, Hey, you guys settle it. Um, I wouldn't be so fast to throw the, the, the flight. I just think like a lot of, uh, especially now too with the. the way the games have changed over the years, and the refs do get more screen time, so they kind of want to make their presence known. But sometimes, you know, no one's there to watch the refs or everyone's watched the game. So I don't know. We'll see. Like I said, we'll see what happens, but yeah, of course I would definitely like to the, that would be something I was interested in. That's awesome. Uh, so besides that, I guess coming back to, uh, the question, um, we, uh, took the kids on a bike ride around the neighborhood. Uh, we got our passports, pictures taken. Uh, trip. We got a, yeah, we've got a trip coming up this year. We're gonna head out to Canada, Canada, Kada, as they say. When are he going? Great. Great. Uh, not sure when, uh, sometime it's here, but, uh, yeah. We're, we're gonna check that out. Look, uh, check out our neighbors to the north. See how everything's doing up there. Fine. Yeah. I'll be up there. Awesome. Uh, for us, we didn't do a whole lot, uh, worked. I think Saturday, both worked on Saturday and then we did some chores. Played Oh. Played tennis for the first time in like this year. Uh, had a blast. Thought there would be a lot of rust. It's been about a month, but not whatsoever. Uh, but my buddy Todd brought out, uh, the pickleball paddles and the, the pickleball. Uh, and we, uh, when we were done, we actually were railing. um, with the pickleball, paddles in the ball. And was that your first time interesting? Yeah, the first time. So the thing is, I know when you hit what we call antenna a half ball, that's when you are at the net. But you let the ball bounce. You're not gonna take a full swing. You're just gonna kind of like block it back and gently guide the ball over. So that was my, that was my strategy when the ball was hit to me. But this is gonna be a workout and this is now kind of like, I'm kind of all in. I kind of want to take a class and cuz when you're hitting, you know what that what you're doing cuz you're squatting, you're practically doing squats left and right cause that's where, that's how you're getting the ball over the ball. Cause the ball's not gonna bounce. Get your, you open up your paddle and you pretty much, you pick the ball up with your legs. And so the first, like, can we say like couple minutes you can fill like the burn in your thighs and your lower back. And so it's, it's a really good workout. So it, yeah, I, I could see what the, the button about because it's not that complicated. Um, you know, pretty much anyone can go out and play. So it's one of those games where you can play but you can't watch. You know what I mean? Okay, yeah. Yeah. I think it's gonna be, I think it's too slow. So like, I don't think I could ever watch a professional match on tv, but I think it's one of those games where it's like, Hey, do you wanna go play pickleball? Like, yes. And yeah, go out and have fun for the next hour. So that's crazy. That's pretty cool. That's crazy for me to hear, cuz I mean, I remember when you, we were younger and you and I have always been active in sports and so we've always been in relatively good, you know, condition. And I remember when you first got into tennis, he wanted me to, you know, go with you to the court. So just for being able to return the ball to you. And I remember we were out there for like two hours one time just straight just hitting the ball and my legs were just like jello after. And for you to tell me that, you know, with pickleball you feel the burn. Just a couple minutes in, obviously what you're telling me makes sense cuz it's squatting, so it's a different motion. Yeah, but it's just, that's that's crazy. That's awesome. All right, so you really dive in onto this topic. Let's dive away. All right, so tonight's episode is Super Bowl, so I figured we kind of bring up some fun facts about the Super Bowl and then maybe come over with some strategies on how to keep the kids busy. You, did you go to the um, our sister's, uh, super Bowl party last year? Last year? No, we, uh, you were there. I think I saw you. You were there. I know you were there, I remember talking to you. No, we just had, uh, our, we just had a baby, so we were, we were home. We had a newborn, so, well, I guess we were actually due, so it was, uh, I gotcha. That's what it was. It was, uh, around the due date and so we didn't want to go too far, so we just were at home. Yeah. So last year wasn't anything kind of crazy because I think it was just our families', like my family and her family, and so the cousins Barnette ran off, played with each other, and Sherry had one role last year. She's like pregame the game and postgame. that's you. She's like, you can watch, watch it. I'll take care of the kids. You don't have to worry. Enjoy your day. Have fun. Halftime. She's like, it's all me. You take over the kids. I'm gonna watch this halftime show. So I didn't get a chance to see the whole half drum show until the following day, which was pretty kind of cool, I have to admit. Um, but who was it? Yep. Oh, John. It was, uh, stoop Dogg and Dr. Dre and Oh, that's what I remember now. Yeah. Yeah. That 50 cent. Exactly. So I remember now. That was a good one. Yeah. Yeah. So the year before though, that was kind of weird because it's been a long time since, uh, I've been home by myself watching the game. Cuz that was during the pandemic. I, I remember. Was it? Yeah. That's when, uh, 2020. Right When? Or 2021. Um, yeah, so that was kind of like, we kinda overdid on the food because it's like two. Oh, that's the thing. got Rios, but got Rios. There you go. You, you know, we took it seriously, uh, right before kickoff. I put the air jumper on in the front yard so the kids can go jump and uh, yeah. So it was, uh, I gotta admit though, like it wasn't, that's part of the Super Bowl right? It to get together. Right. Cause obviously the game was kind of boring. Um, and you know, it was fun. You know, I had, you know, talking to Sherry, like, oh, they should have done this, they should have done that. And, you know, during that moment with her, but I believe it's like Super Bowl though. It's like it's all about the get together. It's all about the party. It's itself. So, I'm gonna put some fun facts. So when you're at your Super Bowl party and the conversation starts come talking football, you're not that lost, and maybe you can contribute to the conversation. So, all right, John? Yes sir. You're a brother and I'm a right. We're brothers, right? Last time I checked. Okay. Wait, what day is it? So this is the first Super Bowl with two brothers will score off against each other. So the Cal Brothers, uh, Travis Kelsey plays for the Kansas City Chiefs, and I actually don't know the first name for, uh, for the Kelsey who place for the, the Eagles. But they're brothers and they're actually probably the best players at their position. Uh, they both, um, one plays offensive line and the other one plays a tight end and. I just gotta imagine. I mean, you, you're the parents. You have to pick one, right? No, you, that's cool. If it was me, if it was me, I would tell like, okay, Sherry, you, you root for one. I'm rooting for the other one. Let's go. That's, that's not, that's a horrible, obviously gotta, you have to be fun. I mean, in so many ways, in so ways. You, you, you do what those, you know, great parents do where they buy the two jerseys, they split it down the middle and you root for both. Doesn't look you, you root both, both players, both sons have a great game and they, you know, do you great. And obviously one's gonna wins, one's gonna, one's gonna lose. But, uh, you just hope that they both play the hearts out and do great and are safe. I don't know. I think I would, I would pick one, I maybe pick one jersey. Um, for the first half and then like do a swap with Sherry for the second half. Like, so then you get the best of both worlds. So, I don't know, I think do stuff like that, but I don't like the half to, I'm just imagining you that you wearing, you know, Kelsey from KC in the second half. They win. I knew it the whole time. Baby Um, okay, so number two, uh, Andy Reed, the coach for the Kansas City Chiefs was for a long time, the Philadelphia Eagles coach. Oh, he was like 10 years, right? Uh, yeah, it was, it was a long time. And, but the thing with Andy Reid is he's, he's not a, he's not a bad guy. He's a great guy. So like, you see him on tv, see his interviews, and you're like, I like that guy when. I remember when he got fired from Philadelphia and he was doing his press conference. Uh, Sherry was watching TV with me and she's like, who's that? And I'm like, oh, that's the coach for From the Eagles. And they just fired him. And he's like, I like him. She's like, I really like him. And so like every time she sees him on tv, she roots for she roots for that team. So, um, Jerry, nice guy. Oh, go ahead. I don't, I was gonna say, I don't think any of the players that have played for him have, I've never heard anything bad about him. I never heard exactly. I've never heard any bad thing. Usually, uh, that guy was a jerk or we didn't see I, I, or Yeah. Yes, but not with Reeves. So I was actually happy when he, uh, when they when they beat the 49ers a couple years ago. And so he finally got his Super Bowl rank actually first. First professional football game was going to see the Ken City Chiefs and the La Ram. So I got to see him coach live. So that was pretty cool. So we're calling this for Andy Reeb Bowl. So Jayden, Jaylen Hiz, he's the quarterback for the Philadelphia Eagles. Do you know what happened last time he played in a championship game? Uh, no, he won. Okay. So in college he was the call, he was the quarterback for Alabama Crimson type, and they were playing in the national championship game and they were undefeated. Did not lose a game all year. But the knock on him was, he was a terrible passer and they were losing, I think it was like 13, nothing and a half time. He got benched at halftime and his team came back to win the game. Uh, so I don't know, maybe that might happen again. I can see, you know who the quarterback is that replaced him? Yeah. Uh, to uh, the quarterback from, uh, Yeah. Well that was a thing. That's why I'm kind of surprised. He's a little, he's had so much success in the N F L cuz like the receivers he's had, uh, in college, his receivers were, uh, Devonte Smith, um, Ridley, uh, rigs, uh, Judy. Wow. I mean he had like, yeah, his running backs were, uh, just, uh, Dante Harris. I mean, just like, it was just like he had all this, this stuff around him and. He was a terrible pastor and it was just like, he was so awful. The only thing he did good back then was, um, control the office and he was able to run. So run. Yep. So, yeah, so I don't know. We'll see. Uh, hopefully this goes better this time around. He's, but since he's been in the NHL over the nfl, um, I mean, I know that was his first, like when he first came in and took over it, he was running left and right with the ball and that's where his success was coming from. But, um, I feel like they've catered to the offensive coordinator they've catered to, to him and designed him to become a better passer because he's had some games. Cause I have him in one of my fancy leagues in Dynasty and he's had some games where he's thrown, thrown quite a few yards. And I, that's obviously because the defense has to respect his, his legs and reign the ball. So, you know, they, they step up a little more and that opens fit things up down field. So I, I think it's gonna be interesting. It should be. So I have a fun, uh, annual re fact I forgot to mention right now, his favorite cheeseburger place is in California. Can you name that cheeseburger place I have to go with in and out to something? That's California only? No. What is it? Tommy Burgers. Really? So this guy, this guy has Tommy Burgers, uh, delivered to him. So like, they'll, they'll like, that's awesome. Ship. They'll ship like, I guess like the stuff, and they warm it, warms it up and he's good to go. So that's, do you know if he's originally from California? I don't know, but if you guys ever get a chance, Google Andy Reid pass, punt, what was it? Pass, punt and throw competition. And you'll see his sides when he was 13 years old. Had you, you seen this clip, have you? Yeah, I have seen it. Yeah. Yeah. This is a man among boys, this guy's, he is a big, big monster kid. Monster Yeah. All right. And do you know who would be hosting, uh, not hosting, but performing the, uh, halftime show? Rihanna? Yep. Yeah, yeah. Forward to it. Yeah. I like Rihanna. Yeah, Rena, right? Course. She's good. So the one I wasn't too thrilled about, the one I wasn't too thrilled about that was relatively recently was, um, the weekend. Yeah. I don't think I saw that one. I think I was putting down the, uh, jumper. And I remember going on Twitter and everyone was kind of like, oh, that sucked. That was kind of disappointing. So what did I just watch? I didn't see it. So I've never seen that show before. But you don't need to, from what I saw, it didn't look like I was missing that much. No. All right. So real quick, what are some ways that you, like, can you recommend any good activities to maybe keep the kids involved? So they're part of watching the game or maybe like distracting them so they, you know, they're safe while the game's going on. Distracting while watching the game with you. You just get'em involved by, you know, oh, what color or what team do you want to do? You want to win. And a lot of times, like my kids, they'll look at the screen and they either go for the color, I want the blue team, or, uh, sometimes they, they see the, the lion, you know, for the Detroit lion, oh, I want the lion, the lion to win. And so they kind of go off of that and you just cater to that. Just like, oh, the blue team's doing good. They just, you know, got a first down. They're not gonna know what it means, but if you sound excited for it, then they get excited and it get, gets them kind of entertained with the game and watching the game. And, um, yeah, I, I say just ask them like, who do you want to win? And just kind of cater to whatever response they give you. Yeah. So like, I've never really done this, but I like was, you know, just doing some research for tonight and there's one that says, um, face paint. you know, give them, tell iem know, like, okay, like you said, they probably won't care about like the actual teams, but like, oh, the, uh, the chiefs are playing against the Eagles and you know, they, if they pick one, maybe do like a little face painting or have'em like draw a picture or something. I'll say, me personally, I would say let's have them draw a picture. Just cuz when I think face paint, it means that I'm gonna have to clean up that face. And there's a lot of times they don't want their face white and wash as a therapist. It kids are messy. No. Yeah. I, I, I completely agree with that. I just, yeah. Fighting with clean their, cleaning it up though off, off their face doesn't sound fun to me. Yeah. Um, there's, there's a lot of pronouns out there that, uh, you would kind have of color. Yeah, I think, I definitely feel like I was looking at it, there's like egos and. chief coloring pages out there so they can go ahead and, uh, color, uh, another one. Oh, let their imagination go and have them draw a picture. Draw a needle. A fun one. And I know our sister has done this, uh, commercial vehicle. It's always fun. Keeps'em entertained. Uh, everyone gets, everyone gets excited for the commercials anyway. So, are you, uh, real quick, are you a, cause a lot of these commercials get leaks, like probably like down or like next week. Are you like looking to see what the best commercial is, or are you, do you wait until the actual game? Wait, I'm not going outta my way to see what commercials are gonna be on there. I'll just watch a game, watch your friends pop up. And I particularly go for, you know, the funny ones. I, those are the ones that I enjoy. So now I'm not doing any research for commercials. what about you? Uh, no, no, no. I'm just, it's part of the tradition. Uh, Christmas, right? You open, you open the gifts on Christmas. Same thing with my commercials. I watched the commercials on my Super Bowl. Um, if your kids aren't interested in, uh, in the game, cause I can see, like, for instance, my daughter, I don't think she would be really interested, but maybe a treasure hunt maybe planted like a little treasure hunt around the house. And so, you know, print it out, make a list and see if they could find the, the hidden items A around the house that. Two of my daughter, she loves like puzzles and stuff, so, uh, that would, that would be definitely like right up her alley. Nice. Um, and we see, I'm not looking off a list, but I would imagine if there's, uh, you know, prepping as far as any food, how the kids ask the kids, they want to help out a lot of kids and boys. Yeah, I think a happy out in the kitchen. I think a, uh, I think a, uh, a nice kid table, food table can go along way. Maybe put some, uh, some like snacks, some like a juice bar, something, uh, that they're gonna, you know, get excited about. You can have some healthy food. You can have some non-healthy food. Can I tell you one thing? If you put chips out, my daughter, my kids, they love chips. I, I don't understand what the big deal is, but. They, they just, they the chips around in our house, so do not last long. I think that's just pretty much any kid. I mean, even in our house, we have Apple chips and they get excited for those. So yeah, I just, I just think just chips in general. They, they, it's just love. So what about, let's see, uh, raisins. Raisins are good back to put out. Raisins are good. Uh, even the yogurt covered raisins. I like those myself. What about crackers? Yeah. Get some. One thing that we do, uh, at Brit's family, Britney's family, uh, gatherings, her aunt normally does some kind of like, um, cheese balls. She's done like a ranch one and, uh, garlic one and whatnot. And sh there's crackers around it. Um, the kids when they're there, if they, you know, want a piece of the cheese on their plate, some crackers, they dip the cheese in, they like it. Um, yeah, you get pretty, pretty foam crackers. What about dry cereal? I have kids love dry cereal, so I don't see how that can do. I know, yeah. Bad. A bad idea. I would just not recommend cereal with marshmallows, just cuz the kids are gonna just pick out all those marshmallows and leave the dry cereal. They're, uh, study. But, you know, um, probably like, uh, if I was gonna do a kid back table at my house, I think the number one thing I would have is popcorn. Yeah. Popcorn. And then like, maybe mixing some like, uh, some peanuts. M and mss. Peanut and m and mss. Well, like, uh, or somewhere the pretzel. Uh, like the, what do you mean? Like either the pretzel sticks or is just the regular. Uh, pretzels. Mix in with the popcorn, not mix in with the popcorn, but on the table. That's what I'm saying. I'm mixing in with the popcorn. Oh, it's that sweet salt, salty combination. I've never done peanut m and ms in the popcorn, but I've done regular chocolate M and mss. I like that. Oh no, you gotta do peanut. You gotta do peanut m and ms. Interesting. Yeah, I mean, I enjoy peanut m and ms just by themselves over the regular chocolate, but I'll have to try that out. And then, uh, I think what John said too, um, like a minute ago, uh, uh a craft table, craft table with some crafts. It could be football related. It can't, maybe, doesn't have to be. And yeah, and that would definitely keep'em, uh, entertained. Um, games are pretty long cause it's like what, three, four hours it seems at least. Yeah. Yeah. So that's, if it doesn't go into overtime, Um, another option is in their, in their, the kids' room. Or if you have a, you know, another den or back room or anything like that, set up, uh, the table of snacks and stuff there, and they're on a movie for them. Or if they're on sing alongs for the kids, there you go. Uh, get them singing and yelling, and that's something that they could keep'em entertaining. Have fun. All right, so I'm gonna run down some, uh, some prop bets. So if you're looking for a fun way to, now, these are not necessarily who's gonna win the game, but prop bets are what's gonna happen in the game. And o obviously you can bet if you're in Vegas, you can bet at, uh, at a casino. But maybe you're with a buddy or someone who's looking, uh, and you guys want to put a little bit of, uh, action. there are some, uh, some prop bets. So John, I want you to gimme a hearing answer for these prop beds. Um, who's gonna scroll the first touchdown? Uh, I wanna say Casey. No. Okay. Sorry. Uh, player. Oh, player. Yeah. Okay. So this is gain ticky tack, but if Patrick Mahomes throws the ball, is that included or is just whoever he sees it? No. No. Who? Whoever scores the first section. Whoever scores. Yeah. I'm gonna go Kelsey. He's the, um, right now on drafting. He has, he's the favorite basically. Yeah. To, uh, win that. That makes sense. Okay. Um, I'm gonna go Miles Sanders for some reason. I mean, you had a big game last week or last weekend. Yeah, we got more. um, let me see best. Okay, let me see. Uh, okay, here's one where Daniel looks on the coin. Toss heads or tails. Tails never fails. I don't know if anyone is out there that's new to either football or, you know, prop betting, but that's an actual bet you can make is on the owing toss of who's gonna, you know, choose a kick or receive what the coin lands on. Heads or tails. All right. What about, can you find, what about Gator? What about Gatorade? What color? Yeah. Uh, I kind of feel like whoever wins. Their, their team color is gonna be it. So if it's kc, the Gatorade's gonna be red. If it's, uh, Philadelphia, it's gonna be that line, line green that they have. All right. So the next one, who's gonna be the Super Bowl mvp I gotta go with, I mean, as far as the odds Mahomes, yeah, it usually goes to a quarterback. But here's the thing, he's not the favorite right now. Who is Jaylen Hertz? The quarterback from the other team. The Philadelphia Eagles. Interesting, interesting. It's interesting. Yeah. Cause I thought it would be, um, definitely Mahomes. I guess maybe they think he's not gonna do too much with his ankles. Um, first team to score. I already answered that, Casey. Okay. So you think Casey goes okay. Yeah. Uh, okay. And then, let's see. Oh, I don't think so. Like, okay. I've, I have to look this up, but I heard they got rid of, of Vegas, got rid of the, um, of the national anthem before you see minute. The over under, I think it was like two minutes and like 49 seconds was usually like the standard. But I, from what I heard, they got rid of it because the, when they do the rehearsal that was getting leak. Oh. So I don't think they do it anymore. Sense. Um, okay. So right now, this might be a shock to you. Vegas has it. the same odds for heads and tails. So you better, yeah. So it's, right now it's, it's 50 50, basically. Little go figure, go figure But now you can actually bet what team will win the coin toss. What do you think? Oh, okay. So who do you, who wins the coin to us on next Sunday? Um, oh, this Sunday? Cause, so let's see. Is, is, uh, do you know who's home in way? Who's going be, be calling the Coin Bus? No, I don't. Okay. Um, I would imagine Casey had a better record than Philly, right? Uh, so, no, I think Philly had the better record. They, they're both the one seat, so, okay. So, mm. I wanna say Philadelphia's gonna lose the coin toss. Oh no, it's here. I found it. Uh, the, uh, over under, I think the over under is basically two minutes. Oh, that's what I thought. Cause two the longest, it's almost pretty misses, pretty long. The longest one was Alicia Keys at two minutes and 36 seconds. That was Super Bowl 47. Mm-hmm. I would've thought Mr. A would've been the longest. So, so here are thumb national at anthems. You can bet, you can bet the over, under on time completed. Uh, you can also bet if the senior will forget. Um, any words. that's messed up. Uh, um, and then you can also bet on which coach will be shown first during the National anthem. That has to be Andy Reid. Oh yeah. It has to be because, um, which player will be shown first during the National anthem? It's gotta be Mahomes or, or Hertz. I would imagine it's probably gonna be Mahomes then some, uh, commercial pop. Thats, um, how many commercials will feature a baby? Uh, how many commercials will feature a dog? Uh, and I don't know if Gronk is doing a commercial for FanDuel cause it says, will Gronk make his field goal in the FanDuel commercial? Oh, apparently, yeah, obviously that's what it sounds like. Then which company will be shown first? Um, Amazon or Google and I'm have to go Amazon. Yeah. Yeah. I just feel like I see more Amazon commercials than Google. All right, here we go. Mariana, Rihanna, Rihanna, uh, prop Bens for a halftime show. Which song was she doing first? I'm gonna go with Umbrella. Yeah, I can see. I mean, I don't know too many of her songs, names. Um, I know one that she probably will sing. I don't know if it'll be the first one, but, uh, diamonds. Okay. Uh, which guard her outfit will she wear and will she use a football as a prop? And then you can also bet on what song, um, what song, what final song will be. Um, would it be an original or a cover for her final song. So yeah. So some fun bets you can make with the family, uh, before, during the game. I'm excited. Is there one performance that sticks out to you as one of your favorites as far as halftime shows? Halftime show that you can recall? Cause obviously we've seen pretty much almost one, um, a year for every, as long as like, since we were what, seven 10? Yeah. I would say the put on Mars back in, I think it was 14 2013 cuz of 14. uh, that one man, I was just like, that was the first one where I was like, oh my God, it's already over. And yeah, it was just, it was crazy. It was, it was fun. Um, I think he had the red hot chili peppers that came out and did Yeah. A song with him. So that was, that was fun. Um, but that's pretty much it as far as like the, the best one. Um, you know, I, I agree. That one, that was probably one of the only ones I'd ever be like, ah, it's already over though. Justin Timber was whatever. But I kind of thought it was pretty cool that he went inside the, the, uh, the stand. Yeah. I came to the performance. That was pretty cool. So, and then, uh, last year's, last year's I thought was, was, was pretty good, so, but definitely I think the number one on the list would be, uh, Bruno Mars. All right. Nice. All right. All right. So I haven't talked to you about this, but I'll give you the option. We can go Dad, draft best Super Bowl full foods. Okay? Okay. All right. Let me write this down. Lemme get this, uh, ready tomorrow the Disney dads will go up. So let me, uh, I'll give you the, do you wanna go first or do you wanna go second? Uh, I will go, I'll go first. So are we just like, so we just doing any food served at a Super Bowl or is Yeah. Spec table. what's the best food to bring at a sebo party? All right. Um, wait. First of all, have you ever made something or brought something to the sebo party? Made something, um, does it count? If my wife made it fair, uh, she makes this really good buffalo dip, uh, for chips that are Okay. Very cool. It's really good. It's a chicken buffalo dip. That's really good. Last year, uh, I learned how to make pretzels and so I brought homemade pretzels, so they were, I brought the regular, which is like a lady, like coated with like a little bit of butter. Mm-hmm. uh, I'm not a salt guy, so I didn't put salt on him. And then I made, um, some with, uh, I cut up so I didn't do the actual, Pretzel. I just, I made the actual pretzel, but then I cut'em up and poured some cinnamon and sugar on'em. Nice. And so those, those were a big hit. So, all right. So go ahead. You go first. Sorry. No, you're good. Um, so we're gonna plate it safe and girl pizza. Okay. Pizza's a solid food to have there at a, at a Super Bowl party. Okay. Um, yeah, I, who doesn't like a good pepperoni pizza or, I know your, your wife prefer all of pizza, but which is still good. Can't complain. I'm gonna go with the, uh, the food that compliments that. I'm gonna go hot wings. Great choice. Yeah. That's a solid pick. You could just so many different options with that. With flavors. Yeah. Oh yeah. Dry sauce. Oh yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah. And then do you, do you have a preference on, on wings, whether it is sauce or a dry rub? Oh, I love, I love sauce. I'm a sauce guy. Yeah. I've got, I mean, I've had some dry rubs, uh, like Buffalo Wild Wings and it's okay. But I just prefer sauce. I will say this, when it's a dry rub that's done right, it's amazing. But I've had some dry rubs, so I'm just like, it's not that great. Um, my next pick, I'm gonna go with I about nachos. You mother, that's what I was gonna go with, but nachos. All right. Yeah. I think mom makes her nachos, right? Yeah. Yeah. All right, so my next pick, um, do you want to do just dips in general or do I have a specific dip in mind? But do you just wanna go specific dip or just go dips in general? You can bring a dip in general. Well, no, no, I'm saying, I mean, I have one specific thing I want name, or should I just generalize it and just say, just dips? I'll give you dip. Okay. So different dips, like artichoke and, you know mm-hmm. uh, like the buffalo chicken, uh, dip. Okay. Then my wife says, yeah, dips and chips. Yeah. Okay. And the next one I'm gonna go with the mozzarella sticks. Okay. That's a solid. Platter you could go with. Who doesn't like fried cheese? Right? I haven't found anyone yet. Maybe if you lactose intolerant, but Okay. Um, I am going to go with, I know. I'm go chili. Okay. Yeah. Kevin from the office. Classic scene. You let everyone meet in the pot then for me. I'm gonna go, I'm gonna go pigs in the blanket. That's solid. Yeah. Solid one. All right. Go ahead. All right, so let's see here. Uh, let's go with the potato skin loaded potato skins, bacon, cheese on a half potato. That's always delicious. Okay, and then one more, one more. I can't believe we haven't said it yet, but, uh, chips. Okay. You, I was gonna go. No, I wanted to go with chips. Um, cause I knew it would be BK with my family, but I kind of felt like it was the same thing as like, um, the nachos, like the same kind of category. So no. Cause nachos, if anything, I would say nachos. Well, nachos is its own category cuz you can't put nachos with dip because I mean, that's, it's nachos. You, you know, but chips as far as like Doritos lays, you know, the, that's a whole nother topic on its own, so, okay. Yeah. So I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna get your p I'm gonna see if you would allow this. If not, I'll pick something specific in this category. Dessert that's way too broad. I would say spec specify. Okay. Okay. I'm gonna go to brownies Solid. Especially now, like with those, um, everyone doing like those football brownies and so yeah, I gonna go with that. Um, hey, you think we left out anything? Uh, I mean, I'm sure there's things that people take that have every year that they didn't think of, but I mean, for the most part I would say that's the general, well, I think Donald Hitler, I think the people that are going to the party will bring like the side dishes. Right, right. And or the desserts. And so therefore the, the hosts will get the meat. So that's why I didn't put like, like garnet out the, I didn't put hotdog brockworth because we wouldn't bring that to a party. Um, so yeah, I feel like any, I look at both our list and I'm, I can see myself taking any one of these things. Neither of us said a veggie platter. I'm sure that's gonna be there. I know, right? Well, I was gonna, I was gonna do hummus, but then I was like, does that fall under. So I kind of like backtracked a little bit, but you know, I think this is like the number one day where, um, the average American will consume like the most calories. It's like, what's besides Thanksgiving? I think they say it's more this day because there's like more junk food. Mm-hmm. you know, like with Thanksgiving it's a lot of food, but at least you can balance it out. There's gonna be like veggies and salad. Yeah. You know, options where this one, like normally it's got one healthy item, there's not one healthy olive and then plus tea you're drinking. Right, right. So yeah. So, but yeah. Right. So that's uh, I think that's it. That's good. So hopefully you guys have a fun, safe Super Bowl party. Enjoy the game. Um, John, you got a fun fact before. I do, I do. This is something I just came across recently and I found out, um, it's a Super Bowl related. It is not which. Okay. It's kind of disappointing. I kind of saw one today and I was like, I wonder if he's gonna pick that one. But go ahead. Go ahead. Let's hear yours first before I go with mine. Okay, well you look for, well, while I'm talk. Why, why I tell mine. Um, go ahead. Do you know why Pirates? Were I eye patches? No. So you never heard any theories on why, why they wore eye patches? No. Okay. So I'm glad to hear you say that. Cause I feel like I've researched this so much that like, it just, it was just comes up automatically. So I figured like it might be a common, uh, common knowledge type of thing, but I didn't know this at all. So apparently they were eye patch, not because they were missing an eye, but because if they were, you know, Going to, as they were gonna battle another ship, if they had to go below deck, which was pitch black, generally they could switch the eye patch over. And when they're at, when they're on the top deck, it's sunny, typically it's bright down. So you had to do a dark, uh, a adaption. So instead of trying to wait for their eye to adapt to the darkness, they switched the eye patch over and that eye patch was covered already in dark so they could see better in there. So if they had to go get more mo, more cannibals or whatever it was, it was quick and they could adjust to the, to the darkness right away, which I thought that was pretty cool. That's cool. Cool. I know you've always been a pirate fanatic, so Yeah, that was fun. What was a Super Bowl one that you have? Okay, so I thought you were gonna go, uh, about the trophy. How much do you think the trophy weighs? Uh, I'm gonna go with 20 pounds. How much? 27. Really? Okay. Cost$50,000 to make. And the winner of each team will be about, will pay up for 150 Super Bowl rings, which comes out to like$5 million total. And then more than 100 million people will watch a Super Bowl this Sunday. So that was several fun facts in there. Yeah. I can't believe it's only seven pounds. Yeah. The way some of the football players hold it, it looks like it has some weight to it. At least it's like top heavy. and, oh, that's interesting. All right, well that's a wrap again. Have, uh, hope everyone enjoys their Super Bowl Sunday and, uh, hopefully everyone will, I guess have a good time and win some money and yeah, and from John and I don't go changing.
