Critique-Opolis
Jay & Louisa deliver a fiery, opinion fueled overview of movies, social movements, cultural behaviors and eating habits - dovetailed with a honey-based recipe and reviews of the most obnoxious movie/media news headlines we can get our eyeballs in front of. For our latest editions, we will be reviewing scripts from the infamous Hollywood 'Black List' (scripts with a ton of 'buzz' that have yet to secure a deal or go into production) - and adding our own casting and story development suggestions.

Welcome back to you favorite straight from Michigan movie podcast! We are back after a brief hiatus because, well, life.
For this latest episode of Critique-o-polis, Jay stumbled upon an animated short called Snow Bear. Being a lifelong fan of the polar bear, Louisa was more than happy to watch this Snow Bear. This short movie did not let its most recent viewers down.
This movie was all hand drawn using 11,000 drawings by Aaron Blaise, a former animator for Disney. A polar bear is moving through the tundra alone and wishes for a friend. Seeing a pile of snow, this lonely polar bear also sees a polar bear friend.
Together they engage in all sorts of fun, friendly polar bear activities. This was a fun movie to watch as the new friends sled down a pile of snow, eat fish and pretend to be walruses together, etc.
Just when the snow bear's friend is starting to melt due to global warming, the snow bear finds a real friend! It's a very touching story to watch.
Making Snow Bear even more of an emotional animated short film is the story behind the movie: animator, Aaron Blaise, made this movie to help cope with the grief he was experiencing when his wife, Karen, passed away.
Making Snow Bear even helped Aaron to meet a new lady and fall in love again, making for more than just one happy ending for Snow Bear.
It also helped bring more attention to Polar Bears and the cause for working through climate change together.
Enjoy watching this lovely animated short film! It is available on YouTube!
