This
Caseyis the Naughty by Nature podcast, getting naughty in nature. In
Karinature. We are currently sitting at a Mexican restaurant outside in the patio. Uh, we might have shots in our hands.
CaseyWe need to address the elephant in the room, though. It's been 14 months?
KariYeah. We stopped in April of last year.
CaseyYeah, so it's 13 months. Yeah. And I mean, this is the end of July, so r- right on the edge of 14. We-
KariI mean, but there was a reason, right? Like, my sister moved in with us.
CaseyYeah. We lost
Kariour- We lost our podcast
Caseyroom we lost our studio, our in-home studio.
KariWell, it wasn't just my sister. My, my mom- and my sister moved in with us.
CaseyYour whole family just g- come on in.
KariYay.
CaseyNow, having said that, we are more than happy to be the people that are-
KariNo, I mean, for sure, and that's why we did it. But- Assisting but we completely lost our podcast room.
CaseyCheers.
KariCheers.
CaseyNow, you're not gonna be seeing us, but you'll be hearing us today, and this is kind of our, our, we are- Are they
Karigonna hear me swallow?
CaseyI bet they'd like to.
KariThe mic is right at my neck.
CaseyMm. Well, our new format, we have a new format moving forward. If you're- Yeah if you're just joining us, this is the Naughty by Nature podcast. We are your hosts. I'm Dr. Casey Sanders.
KariAnd I'm Just Carrie.
CaseyStill, still- I haven't forgotten after all this time, you're Just Carrie.
KariI haven't forgotten.
CaseyA little background on us, what do you say we do that?
KariUh, yeah. Go ahead,
Caseybabe. Okay. So we've been, we've been doing this podcast since 2021. I think it was either 2021 or 2022 whenever we first started. Yeah. Uh, we have 75 episodes under our belt, 75 amazing episodes under our belt, some better than others.
KariHey, you know?
CaseyBut a lot of attention was had from that. We've, uh, we boast what, 15,000 downloads, around that much. Uh- I
Karimean, you would know better than I, sir
Caseywe capped around-
KariYou are the scorekeeper
Caseywe, we hit in the top 25, I think-
KariAnd unique countries,
Caseytoo sexuality podcasts on, on, on the internet.
KariYeah.
CaseyUh, so we were doing pretty well for ourselves for a while.
KariYeah, but then what happened to us?
CaseyWe got, ugh, X-naied.
KariYeah.
CaseyWe got, we got executed from the world of Instagram.
KariUh, so we had a page, and it got shut down. Yeah. We literally woke up one morning, and our page was gone.
CaseyWe were s- we were doing well. We, so we started building-
KariWe were doing
Caseyreally well we started building a following. We were posting all the time. We were up to thir- 3, 4,000 followers. I
Karithink it was, like, 3,000,
Caseyyeah. Within just a few months.
KariMm-hmm.
CaseyAnd so we were building, and then all of a sudden we woke up one day, and we were not there anymore.
KariWe were not able to build
Caseyanymore. Which retrospectively, this is why people have, like, you know, a YouTube channel and an Instagram and a TikTok. Yeah. And they have seven different avenues in which they can spread their content. Whenever we were being more focused on here's where- Yeah we wanna grow.
KariYeah.
CaseyNo, you know what? Fuck it. We got taken down. Who gives a shit?
KariIt was, it was a, a heavy censorship at a time that censorship was, like- aggressive
CaseyIt was whenever it was, um-
KariWasn't it around the time that Pornhub got removed from Texas?
CaseyOh, once they started introducing age verification.
KariYeah. I mean, our name was Come with KC.
CaseyYeah.
KariBut because we had come in the title, it was like a detriment to anyone
Caseythat- Yeah. And naturally we got reported by- Yeah, we did a number of people. Never found out who they were, but who, again, who cares?
KariUltimately- No, it doesn't really matter, but we lost our page.
CaseyYeah. Ultimately it led to us being taken down. So we did what anybody with a mission, on a mission does, and we started again from scratch.
KariWell, we rebranded.
CaseyYeah.
KariWe had to.
CaseyWe did. We did photo shoots.
KariWe did.
CaseyWe did rebranding. We, we, r- we changed our name from Come with KC to Knotty By Nature. Knotty with, like, K-N-O-T-T-Y.
KariYep.
CaseyAnd then bi, like the bisexual beast of a bitch you are.
KariMm-hmm. I was the one that came up with bi. You did. Well, 'cause I was like, well, not, not by nature, but I was like, "Oh, it has to be bi." Yeah. And you were like, "Oh, yeah."
CaseyYeah. That was our- Duh. That was our lying in bed moment wherever I was like- Yeah Knotty by Nature. It's Knotty by Nature. Yeah. You were like, "By, like, bisexual." We were like, "This is fucking great."
KariYeah.
CaseyYeah.
KariAnd, and then no triggered words in, in our title anymore. No.
CaseyNo.
KariUm, but yeah. It was trying my best. We, we went through and we did a rebranding. But I'm gonna be really honest with you. When we rebranded, I kind of lost sight of things.
CaseyWe both
Karidid. I, I disconnected.
CaseyWe were trying to come up with something that ultimately we, we were trying to, like, expand into a, a, a business really. Yeah. We wanted to help people in such a way that we were started making offerings. And now we look at that and we were going, we kinda lost- the, the idea of what we were really doing amongst that, because we became so concentrated on what are we supposed to be doing.
KariWell, and I don't, yes, but not only that, but even, like, putting it on video and making sure it was so structured and organized and-
CaseyYeah. Everything we're looking at was like- Ugh ...,"Hey, if you wanna grow this, you should be on video."
KariYeah.
CaseyIf you wanna
Karigrow this- Which you weren't wrong, but that was when I disconnected. Yeah. Another point, right? Yeah. We had to, we had to rebrand. Now we're taking it, like, vastly more serious. It was no longer a me and you thing. It became, like, this business structure on what it needed to be. Yeah. Not only- And we just lost ourselves in it.
CaseyYeah. Not only was I spending my time, like, editing the episodes and getting it all ready and making sure everything was there, but also, like, talking with website designers and talking with marketing agents and talking with people- Mm-hmm so I could be like, "How do we reach the most people possible in doing this?"
KariYeah, especially since we just lost so many.
CaseyYeah. And so it's, it's just, we, April of 2025, we were just like, "All right. We're doing this 75th episode, and we're taking a break."
KariYeah.
CaseyIt was, it wasn't goodbye, it was just goodbye for now, at the time.
KariYeah.
CaseyAnd we both were very on
Kariit. We both knew that, though. Yeah. We, we knew it wasn't done forever. We just needed a pause.
CaseyYeah. And so now, here we are. July-
KariIt's what? July, yeah
Caseyof 2026 is when we're recording this. Shit, maybe it'll go up on air. Maybe it won't. We're gonna find out. We're kinda doing this for fun.
KariKnowing you, it probably will.
CaseyYeah, it will.
KariLike, knowing you, it will.
CaseySo we're just- So- We're just gonna have fun with it- Yeah is the plan, though. We're not here to, to tell you to sign up for our coaching. We're not here to tell you to purchase our instruction manuals. We're not here to do anything like that. We're here just to talk about topics and sex and relationships and kink and all of the above from a p- perspective of education, raunchy, kinky fun.
KariMm-hmm.
CaseyThat's it.
KariLike the way we used to.
CaseyExactly, like we started. It's like, uh, the soul skaters from Brink! for all my millennial babies.
KariI was like, "I
Caseydon't even know what that means." Who used to watch the Disney Channel whenever you were
Kariyoung. Oh. I, I wasn't rich enough to have the Disney Channel. I didn't have that growing up.
CaseyJust saying that that was your frame of reference for wealth is
KariIt was. I didn't have Disney Channel growing up. No, but also, I think the point of today is, like, let's just kind of fill you in on where we've been.
CaseyYeah.
KariI mean, you are now working, or you were working at the clinic before. For real. Um, but you had just kinda started. All that was fairly new, right? In
Casey2020- Yeah, that was 2023 is when I started that 2023. So I was doing that for two years before we-
KariOh, shit.
CaseyYeah.
KariSo- It's so hard to look back and think on, like, timelines. Timelines are wild to me, um, 'cause everything just, like, muddles in together. After COVID, nothing makes sense to me.
CaseyWell-
KariNo timeline exists.
CaseyYeah. But- I love that it's 2026 and we still get to talk about COVID
KariI think it's so pertinent, but- It,
CaseyI agree with you entirely. Yeah. It's still a relevant topic because we had so many people who we had talked to that had such a drastic change in their lives, and they were told... I feel, I feel like we were talking about this earlier, is it felt like so many people were promised a future of the... And I mean this in, like, relationship-wise, is that, "Hey, you're, you're together now. You're getting all this. We're moving through this. Guys, the good stuff is coming." Yeah. Right? Like, they were g- they were told that after COVID that was gonna be the best relationship you had because you've had this time together, and you get to work on yourselves. Mm-hmm. And you get to do your relationship check-ins, and- Yeah you get to have your intimacy and all this. And now, in 2026, there's, uh, so many people who are like- Where's my fucking prize?
KariYeah. I, I did the hard thing.
CaseyYeah.
KariWhere, where is the light at the end of the tunnel?
CaseyWe did all the things that we were supposed to do.
KariYeah.
CaseyWe, we talked through stuff, and I... Things were going really well, but it's 2026, and we're now back to kind of being in that roommate
Kariphase. Yeah, like we're like slightly in normalcy, and then not. Or it's like you put all of your effort and time into healing your family, your business, making sure everything was okay, and then I think again, like I said earlier, we thought there was gonna be this like big light at the end of the tunnel. Yeah. And we're like, "Where's the light?" It doesn't... It's not as bad, but it's not better. Yeah. Like, it's like same, same, but different. And I think that's been the people's like biggest struggle. I mean, even with us, it's been a struggle for us.
CaseyYeah. That's something that we love, we love discussing, is we like being raw and real about our relationship, and we've struggled with intimacy. Yeah. We, we moved into a roommate phase for sure. We're at the tail end of that,
Kariwhich is- Yeah, we're at the tail end of it which is good. Can we go ahead and discuss one of the reasons why? I'm pointing to- Wait your foot.
CaseyOh, yeah.
KariI know y'all can't see me now 'cause I'm on camera, but I'm pointing directly to your foot. Yes. Would you like to fill the class?
CaseyFor sure. So in-
KariFill the class. You know what I mean
Caseyin, in March of this year, March of 2026, uh, was working on all of my athleticism. Written. Mm-hmm. I, I actually-
KariAnd ladies, he looked fucking good.
CaseyLooked.
KariWell, I, I said what I said.
CaseyThat's some past tense shit right
Karithere. I said what I said.
CaseyUh, I, I, I dropped almost 30 pounds.
KariYeah.
CaseyI dropped like almost 8% of body fat. And so I was, I was really, really feeling myself, doing good with myself, having all this great time. I'm in the gym one day. I'm doing what are known as rebound box jumps, and I came down off the top of the box and tried to rebound off the floor. And I swear it felt like just somebody hit me with a golf club in the back of my leg. No,
Kariyou literally said you thought the weights-
CaseyYeah. So I... Well, I'd had, uh, placed a couple of dumbbells behind me- Yeah 'cause I was doing multiple movements, and I thought that I had like landed on one of them, and then it just kicked me in the back of the- Yeah the pa- like the back of the leg. Yeah. And so I turned and took a step towards it and just fell to the ground. I had no feeling in my foot. Everything... Like, I was going into, into sympathetic mode, so I was having like pale face- Yeah dizziness, thought I was gonna pass out, felt like I was gonna puke, all sorts of nasty shit. And I had somebody... There was like five people working out around me-
KariYeah, you had to
Caseylike- in the turf area of the gym- Yeah that I go to, and, uh, none of them were looking. Like, nobody's paying attention. I'm literally just laying there on the ground, holding my leg up.
KariI just like envision you crawling over to someone.
CaseyI mean, kind
Kariof. Arm reaching out, you know, "Help me."
CaseyUh, almost. And so finally I got this, uh, I got this girl's attention, and she looks over at me and looks at my foot, and then she almost goes as pale as I do.
KariOh.
CaseySo I'm having to like maintain composure, right? Well, yeah. I'm having to- 'Cause
Kariyou're you
CaseyI'm having to sit back and be like, "Hey, we're cool. It's good. Uh, but could you, could you go get a trainer?" "Could
Kariyou please get someone for me?"
CaseyCould you go get one of the trainers, please?" And she's just like- He doesn't even say anything, steps up and leaves, and about that time other people are noticing. Yeah. And so I have another guy who's like, "Holy shit, what happened?" I'm like, "I think I just ruptured my Achilles." And he's like, "Can you still, like, squeeze it?" I'm like, "We're not even gonna, like, we're, not the time."
KariWe're not doing testing right now, okay?
CaseyI'll test it later, thanks though. So I got... I, I had a coach come back there. Yeah. He, he sees it. He's like, "Oh, shit." He helps me up, but I'm not a small person. No. I'm, I'm six foot. I weigh 215 pounds, not small. And so this guy is like, "I don't know if I can help you out here."
KariLike, you have to. I'm like, "We have no
Caseychoice."
KariYou literally have to.
CaseyWe have no choice. I put my arm around him, and, like, we're hobbling out of the gym.
KariYeah, and so then I get a call.
CaseyYeah.
KariAnd, and I'm pretty sure Casey goes, "I fucked up." And I'm like, "What?" And he was like, "You have to come get me." And I'm like, "Uh, what happened?" You're like, "I was doing box jumps," which, sidebar, and I'm gonna go ahead and say this, no good story ever ended with I was doing box jumps. Rebounds. All right?
CaseyI'm gonna correct you, rebound box jumps.
KariEven worse.
CaseyThat's, yeah, it's the, yes.
KariUgh.
CaseyYou're right, even
Kariworse. Whatever. I have no shins because of box jumps. But I get the call, and I actually go to our son, and I'm like, because your truck was up there. I wasn't gonna leave your truck, so I need to get a ride up there. So I'm like, "Son, you gotta take me there. Dad hurt himself." Sidebar, any time that Parker has to jump up and help, he's, like, the first to jump up. I was like- Yeah Dad hurt himself. He was out of the door before I was, you know? And so, you know, Son drives me up there, and I pull up, and they're literally wheeling Casey out.
CaseyIn, in an office chair.
KariIn a freaking office chair. I, I- Not, like, a wheelchair or something for an injured person, but the front desk office chair.
CaseyI don't wanna call the gym. I'm not gonna call the gym their name-
KariNo, we're not going to
Caseybecause I love this gym, but-
KariIt was so
Caseyfunny. I was like, really? Like maybe, maybe have a wheelchair on site.
KariYeah, something.
CaseyMaybe. You're in a gym. Yeah. People get injured. You should be prepared to do things and help them out.
KariYeah. So listen, long story short, we pick or I pick him up. Um, but you actually deal with this injury for a little bit.
CaseyYeah.
KariYou don't just, oh, my God, I hurt my Achilles, and then, like, I'm gonna go do... What was the, the scanning, the stuff that you needed?
CaseyOh, I, yeah, I did an get MRI
Kariup at first. MRI, thank
Caseyyou. I, I did, I checked all ortho testing. Yeah. I did basic i- imaging. I did everything un- in the book to check for- Yeah a rupture, and it pointed away from a rupture.
KariBut meantime, this actually started the point where our intimacy started-
CaseyYeah
Karito take a backseat. Yeah, it was exactly- Because you weren't just in a little bit of pain. You were in a huge amount of pain. Casey, you have higher tole- pain tolerance than most people should. However, it did interfere with what our, what our sex life had become- Oh,
Caseyyeah at that point. For sure. Yeah. Absolutely. It was, it was one of those ones where I had expected, like, this, such a massive amount of pain that I'd be like Not able to do anything. Yeah. But I was, I was walking on my heel at least. It was weak, but it wasn't, you know, so weak that I couldn't walk on it. And, but yes, that was about the time whenever things started to get a little rocky in terms of our intimacy.
KariYeah.
CaseyAnd so, it, we, we did, we pulled into that phase-
KariMm-hmm
Caseywhere it was not reaching out to each other as more, not really being as-
KariWe got very comfortable, like, cuddling and going to bed.
CaseyYeah. We got comfortable being like, you know, we're gonna watch our show. Yeah. We're gonna, maybe we're gonna have some parallel play and, like, be on, you know, scrolling on e- each other's, like, pages for a little while. Yeah, yeah. We
Karidid a lot of that.
CaseyAnd then, you know, and then it's like kiss, roll over, go to bed.
KariYeah.
CaseyAnd that would be kind of the end of
Kariit. I mean, and we never lost that, like, touch. Yeah. But we definitely started to fall back on- Yeah like, physical interaction. Our, yeah, our sex
Caseydropped down to, like, once a week.
KariYeah, which is not common for us.
CaseyYeah. That's-
KariNot, not at that time. Yeah. Because think again, prior to this injury, you were like peak Casey.
CaseyYeah.
KariAnd I mean, and the level of sex that we have in the shower, I never considered until we did not shower together anymore. Right. That was the first time- We are the most intimate couple in the shower.
CaseyThat is the first time in, like, the last 16 years that we haven't been showering together consistently.
KariYeah. I had to wash myself. Like, what is this? I had to wash my own hair. I haven't washed my own hair in 10 years.
CaseyBut it did, it, it was something- Yeah that during all that time it just kinda became that, a bit of a roommate phase.
KariYeah.
CaseyUh, the thing is, is that we never stopped talking about it, though, and this is one area where I will- No, we didn't I do applaud our relationship, and I think that this is good advice for anybody out there, is that if you start to feel that if you're in that, a lot of times, one, you're not gonna recognize it. Not, I, I get that you're gonna be like, "Oh, we're maybe not having sex as much anymore," but not a lot of times you really, really go, "Oh, shit- Yeah we're in that phase." You're not, you don't realize you're in it until you're decently in it.
KariDeep in it.
CaseyYeah.
KariYeah.
CaseyYou don't realize, like, the micro-
KariUntil
Caseyyou're not deep in it transactions that occur.
KariYeah. Right.
CaseyBut we never stopped talking about it. It was brought up e- either by me or by you at various times.
KariBut then we also both gave each other, like, an understanding as to the why, though. Yeah. We're like, "Yeah, you're right. We're not as intimate right now, but these are the reasons why." Yeah. And I do appreciate the fact that you and I never lost our communication through all of this. No, because that's a rule. We were like-
WaiterThat's a rule
Kariin
Waiterour,
Kariit's like a religion we kinda, like, we kinda, like, laughed at it a little bit. We're like, "Yeah, we're not."
WaiterYeah.
KariBut it was good for the both of us to be able to bring it up and the other one not then take offense. Yeah. Because there was times that I was gonna bring it up to you and I was afraid, like, "Is he gonna be, like, now have this guilt that he has this injury and we're not able to be as passionate?" But, like- You weren't.
CaseyYeah.
KariAnd it... Go ahead.
CaseyAnd, and part of it stems from not wanting to have, like, the vanilla sex all the time.
KariOh,
Caseyyeah. Right? We don't like that. Which is some- which is something that we're not super into. So whenever it was these, these times that we would have, uh, where we would shift from having, like, this, like, adventurous all-the-time sex to being, like, once a week and it's vanilla, there's not much of an appeal there. That's true. So neither of us were, like, really gunning for it and aiming for it and pushing for it to happen,
Kariyeah, I mean, you're right, though. Like, but at the same time, I still wanna, uh, acknowledge the fact that we did, and it was this, like, side posture, like-
CaseyLazy
Karinot trying to hurt your leg. Sunday
Caseymorning style.
KariYeah. Um, but,
Caseybut I think- Stopping in between, stopping during, being like, "You okay?" Yeah. "We good? Is everything
Kariall right?" And, and that was me. That was me every time. I'm like, "Oh, my God, I hit his foot? Did I hit it? Did I not?" Like...
CaseyBut it made sense for that to be the decrease in frequency and decrease in quality- Mm-hmm as well as to be like, "All right, there's an issue going on here. We're acknowledging it. We're, we're saying what it is. Uh, and we're providing each other with the reassurance that it's okay."
KariAnd then that's not even leading up to your surgery. Right. Your surgery was, what, June 4th? June
Casey4th I had that surgery. I spent two weeks in a splint lying in a chair doing nothing, which if you know me, that's not my style.
KariNo. That was my nightmare, is, is him having to be forced into this, like, stagnant position. I mean, if y'all know Casey or you don't know Casey, he doesn't do this well. No matter what it is, he doesn't matter how injured or sick or whatever the case may be, him sitting still was my nightmare. Yeah. Because I didn't know how he was gonna be able to do this and keep a healthy head space, because that was also super important. Um, Casey, respectful, you don't come if your head space isn't there. If you're not in the right space, it doesn't matter.
CaseyYeah.
KariLike, your head and your penis are connected-
CaseyThat's, that's a-
Kariemotionally
Caseythat is a truthful statement. But that's, but that's also with how many people that we know that we talk to about that. Mm-hmm. Now, typically you hear that from the, from the female side of things, right? Yeah. "Oh, if I'm not in it, I, my head starts going to the, the laundry- Mm-hmm then to the, the list of- Yeah errands I need to run, and, like, my work and my career and all of these things," depending on, you know, what your choice is.
KariYeah.
CaseyBut you get affected.
KariBut you also, not to, like, super bring it up, but you also had, like, pharmaceuticals you were dealing with at the same time.
CaseyOh, yeah. Yeah.
KariSo you have, like, the head space-
CaseyI'm sitting there-
Kariinjured
Caseywith fresh surgery, injured, on hydrocodone. In,
Kariyeah, like-
CaseyBeing like, "No, let's do this."
KariWe, we kinda knew, though, and we, we pre-talked about it. We set the tone that this is what it's going to be for us. We know these first two weeks post-healing or surgery- Yeah um, this isn't gonna really be in the cards for us. Yeah. But I think it was healthy for us to have that conversation knowing. And the thing is, is like, you can have the conversation before surgery. You can have that conversation before you're having a very stressful time in your life. It doesn't matter. If you know that there's gonna be a lull, it's healthy to talk about
Caseyit. Yeah, and there's never a bad time to bring it up. It's never too early. It's never too late. Wherever you are on the day of and it's on your head, just seek consent from your partner. Yeah. "I got something I wanna talk to you about. Would this evening be a good time to talk?" Mm-hmm. "Would tomorrow morning be a good time to talk?" Figure it out, set the date, sit down, and express the way that you're feeling about
Kariit. So we've almost already done our three Cs, communication and consent. We'll get to comfortability later, but I mean, like, look at us. We haven't talked about this in a year. And we're just naturally bringing the topic up.
CaseyIt's just falling right back into place.
KariNo, but so then, like, anyways, you, you went through, you had your recovery.
CaseyYeah.
KariUm, I gotta give you a few bubble baths along the way. Um-
CaseyThat was, oh my God. Having to sit there... Listen, listen
KariIt wasn't
Caseygood. I, I w- I was made to be sitting in a, like, uh, like, an old person's- A geriatric chair? a geriatric chair.
KariIn a tub.
CaseyIn the... At first, in the shower, 'cause I couldn't get anything wet.
KariYeah, that's true. So I was sitting in our shower- And then you kind of had to do that yourself
Caseywith my foot sticking out of it, and just kinda, like, lathering myself up with
Karisoap. I, I, you know, I've actually never told you this. The very first time I had to help you take a shower by yourself, it was very sexy. And I don't know why that was so sexy to me. I never told you this, but I remember sitting there watching you wash yourself, and, like- Oh, boy cleaning your... I don't know. I was like, "This is hot." Maybe it'd been two weeks bec- Maybe you should
Caseywrite a
Karishort story about it maybe it's been two weeks since we've been intimate, so anything at that point. Yeah. But I was like, "This is sexy."
CaseyYeah.
KariUm, but you, you did your recovery well. Yeah. You did what you were supposed to. You're still doing what you're supposed to. Guys, I'm still looking at his boot right now. Yeah. Like, what is today? You, so you got it done July 4th, and today is- June
Casey4th.
KariJune 4th, sorry. And then today is July...
Casey27th.
Kari27th? Yep. And you're in a boot.
CaseyYes. I got hopefully one more day in this thing, and I should be able to remove it after that and start getting it, getting back into order. I haven't run since fucking March.
KariThat's crazy
Caseyto me. Which kills me.
KariI mean, you chose to run.
CaseyYeah.
KariA couple miles a day.
CaseyYeah.
KariBy choice.
CaseyYes. I love running.
KariCrazy.
CaseyI love going outside, putting on my headphones, putting on an audiobook of all things. I always love it, 'cause anytime I tell people, like, if I'm working out or something- You'd rather audiobook? that they're like- Yeah "What do you listen to?" I'm like, "Audiobooks." They're like, "Why?" I mean, you go through
Kariso many books, though.
CaseyLike, why? 'Cause I like, I, I, I love learning.
KariBut I bet, I mean, not only your love for learning, but it almost can put you in a different mindset, 'cause then you're focusing in on- Yeah like, what's being said and less on, like-
CaseyYeah
Karimaybe how your body's responding to the torture you're putting it through.
CaseyIt's really easy to listen to, like, an audiobook if you're going on a run.
KariYeah.
CaseyThat's eas- If I'm doing, like, treadmill or StairMaster- Mm-hmm or outside if I'm going for something. It becomes a bit harder whenever you're doing resistance training.
KariThat makes sense.
CaseyBecause now you're concentrated on just, holy shit, getting this weight up or whatever it may be. That's when
KariI- That's when I would wanna listen to music.
CaseyRight.
KariYou know?
CaseyRight. And that's, I was having a conversation with a patient the other day about the same thing, and I mean- she was like, "I have to listen to metal while I'm lifting." Yeah. Right. I can't listen to... Like, I, I think I'm, I'm, right now I'm listening to a book on the history of, uh, American and Iranian relations- Dude from the 1700s
Karito today. You listen to stuff that I would fall asleep to, and I applaud you for that so hard, but no, that's not for me.
CaseyBut current re- my current stuff I'm now reading is all on the manosphere and red pill society. Ugh. And I love
Karithat it's- Well, I love that you're getting the education on that, but that is totally a- another podcast topic of discussion. Oh,
Caseyyeah, we're gonna have it, too.
KariYeah.
CaseyOh, we will be talking about that. Yeah.
KariSo I think it's funny, though, that you brought up, like, listening to a, a book or, or a podcast, or not a podcast, but a book or, or an audiobook or whatever. My biggest thing now is with my new job, that's what I do.
CaseyTell, tell 'em about your job.
KariOh.
CaseyYour, your
Karilatest endeavor. Um, yeah. So if you, uh, have not seen me on Instagram or online, I am now selling makeup on an app called Whatnot. If you're unfamiliar with the app called Whatnot, it is basically like eBay, but instead of getting eight days to bid on something, you get eight seconds, right? Um, and I sell makeup. It's all Sephora. If, if Sephora carries it, I sell it.
CaseyThat was a really... I like the way you put that.
KariYeah.
CaseyLike, eBay, but instead of eight days, you get eight seconds.
KariYeah, that's how it works. It's like, and go.
CaseyYeah.
KariBut I have to go through and, like, organize all this stuff,
Caseyso- And you're live on camera.
KariAnd I'm live on camera.
CaseyAfter just having said- Which is, I hate it. After just having told everybody, like- I- their fall off of the podcast- I hate it was being on camera.
KariUgh. Um, yeah. I, I had to... I think it's funny, though, that the universe put me into a position where I hated being on camera, and then I got a second job where I was forced to be on camera, and I think it was, like, the universe being like, "Get over it."
CaseyYeah.
KariEssentially. And stop cussing so much. That's the other thing. Like, I can't cuss on camera. Not-
CaseyThere's a lot of things you can't do on camera.
KariThere's a lot... Oh, boy, that's gonna be a whole other conversation- at another time. But yes, I, um, I now sell makeup on Whatnot. Uh, if you wanna follow me on Instagram, it's carrie_closetboss. Um, but yeah, I sit there. So we get palettes from Sephora, and essentially what happens is when Sephora takes something off the shelf and they're, like, transitioning over to, like, a new season, um, this stuff gets put in a lot. Yeah. And then if those companies- Y'all do liquidation. Yeah, we do liquidation. So if it doesn't get reclaimed, then we get it. Yeah. So when I first started, uh, we would get palettes in, and say we get, like, 20 palettes. On each palette... Oh, I'm so sorry. We get four palettes, and on each palette there's 20 boxes, and in 20 boxes, in one box, there's, like, 300 pieces of makeup. So my first original job was just to organize it, but that's when I would sit down and listen to my books. I've gone through more horny books that-
CaseyHorny books
Karihorny books. I've gone through more horny books in this past year than I have in a lifetime, because I get to sit and just listen.
CaseyAnd I love it because I get to ask questions. What are you listening to now?
KariYeah.
CaseyOh my God, they double teamed her where? Where, how, when? There were six men on this girl. What is going on? All of it. A-
Kariand it's given me ideas.
CaseyBut it also gives us the opportunity to dive into a lot of the, um, the people that do listen to this kinda like, like- erotic literature. Mm-hmm. And- Porn books what's like the, what's that?
KariPorn books.
CaseyYes. Yes. But like what draws them in? Yeah. And what is it about? Because you, a lot of the people that are listening, you know, that's not what they do in their own lives, but they get to out, they get to live out these fantasies in these books.
KariYeah.
CaseyAnd we get to hear about it online too from people who are like, "Oh my God, all you're doing is, you know, living out a fantasy. Why don't you do that in your own life?" But you have to go- But
Karithat's what I do.
CaseyYeah.
KariI listen to these books, and I'm like, I have like the little notes in my phone where I'm like, "Okay, we're gonna do this with Casey, and he's better. I'm gonna do this with Casey, and I wanna try this with Casey and maybe someone else. And I wanna..." Yeah. You know. Um, but yeah, like I, I understand like being able to have the opportunity to sit down and listen to books, and working at this new job has given me a, it's ac- it's really prepped me for all of this really. I feel like I'm more comfortable talking now. I feel like I don't cuss as much as I used to.
CaseyOh.
KariI've gone back through and listened to some of our s- old stuff, and I'm like, "Carrie, calm down. Calm down." I don't say like as much as I used to.
CaseySome- sometimes it just takes a mirror.
KariI hate those mirrors. I don't look at those mirrors. But it is very beneficial. Yeah. And I actually am very excited for what we have moving forward. I like that you were able to listen to me and, and me tell you, "Hey, man, we went a little too, like extreme with the professionalism." Mm-hmm. And, or not even professionalism, but like, do you have a better word for it? Just we went too extreme. And I missed our like more authentic chill
Caseyselves. Yeah.
KariAnd well,
Caseyand part of it stemmed from the fact of what we were seeing online from other creators where, who in the past- We were in the past we've been like, "You know, let's try to do this." And it was a lot of like, let's make a business out of it versus let's have fun with it. You can do both naturally. Mm-hmm. However, what we're seeing, the pattern we're seeing, and again, I'm gonna keep this short 'cause we're gonna do a whole bunch on this later. But seeing some of the people online who went from, "Oh, I we're just giving advice to couples," to be like, "I'm gonna get you certified in the bullshit I made up with for $5,000." It's so obnoxious.
KariYeah. Like- And then you end up diving in and figuring out they don't have any- There's no certifications- actual credibility. Yeah
Caseythat they have.
KariThey- You ChatGPT this.
CaseyYeah. They created a system. Yeah. And then now they're selling certifications and their system, which is not backed by research, which is not backed by anything. Yeah. They're literally taking... I'm, I'm gonna rant for a second 'cause they're literally taking- You
Karihave little moments
Caseythey are literally taking research from like the Gottman Institute, and they're taking research from some of these big names, passing it off as their own information, calling it a system, and then charging people thousands of dollars to be part of it. They're doing the same kind of shit that the red pill manosphere is doing. And I will say that- No with my whole fucking chest. I absolutely will. I mean, you're not
Kariwrong.
CaseyThey're doing the same damn thing. They're grifters. They are, and I cannot wait to do an entire episode about this shit, 'cause I wanna expose some motherfuckers real bad.
KariAre you gonna, are you gonna, like, name
Caseynames? Oh, I will drop names. I have no problem doing that. Ooh. Little spicy. I'm, like, I'm, I'm so sick of it, and I'm so- Yeah over seeing people do this and take advantage of others that I'm like, I'm so done
Kariwith it. You know, one of the things that we sat down and talked about, like... I said, "Like," and I said, "I don't say like. It doesn't matter." What are going to be some of the things that we look to change within this new podcast? Not new podcast, updated. And you said something. Cha- change
Caseywith us, or change
Kariwith- Yeah, change with us. And you said, you were like, "I'm going to give my opinion and work to be- Oh, yeah, what I
Caseytold you. Yes
Kariless biased to-
CaseyYeah. Well, you had just said we reviewed some of our old stuff, right? Yeah. And you were talking about how the kinda character that you ha- that you were being and all of that. Yeah. And I did the same thing with myself, and I was listening to it and I was going, man, very middle ground, and I was very diplomatic- Mm-hmm in saying everybody has their own thing. Oh, bias is the opposite of diplomatic. My bad. And, and what, and why I'm all fine with, like, don't yuck somebody else's yum, I'm completely still gonna be on top of that. But more comes from being like my opinions were not really pushed out there. It was more of just like, maybe here's this if you're into it, and I'm very over that.
KariYeah. You know what? I'm not gonna lie, it's gonna be really hot. Appreciate that. I have told you 100 times over, you are one of the most intelligent people I know. But because you try to remain so neutral, it lacks your ability to show how intelligent you really are, and I can't wait to see this version of Casey, 'cause it's gonna be hot.
CaseyIt's hot as the fucking weather right now.
KariYeah, we're in Texas.
